In Which I Agree with Larry Correia

Fandom Pulse quotes The International Lord of Hate’s thoughts on the use of AI in writing fiction. Or rather, the lack of utility thereof.

AI can produce a TON of vapid soulless shit, but hey, so can modern Disney! In fact, when the creator doesn’t give a shit about his art, not only does the audience feel it, the audience gets pissed off. So if you want to produce tons of unenthusiastic shit product and roll the dice hoping it somehow sticks and makes a buck, great. But if you actually give a shit about what you’re saying, then just fucking SAY IT.

The Baen Books author isn’t the only superstar to comment on the topic.

Vox Day is an epic fantasy author and AI music advocate despite writing and recording three Billboard Top 40 Club hits with his techno band in the 1990s. He told Fandom Pulse when we asked his thoughts, “The reason AI text is not a threat to authors the way AI music is a threat to musicians and AI art is a threat to artists is that the amount of vision required for a novel, or even a short story, is orders of magnitude beyond that required for a three-minute pop song or a single 1024 x 1024 image. That’s why a few words are a sufficient prompt for the song or the image, but not for even an obviously inferior short story. Unlike the other AI applications, I haven’t found the various text systems to be a useful tool for producing text of an acceptable quality.”

On tonight’s Darkstream – exclusive to UATV – I’m going to provide a sensory demonstration of what I mean by the way that AI is already a potential replacement for musicians and artists, but cannot even begin to replace authors.

Alan Greenspan on Trial

There are two reasons China’s global primacy is inevitable. First, China remains China, not a subverted, invaded, demoralized shell of a nation. Second, the government refuses to let the financial sector run amok and pillage the rest of its economy:

The former head of a top Chinese bank has received a suspended death sentence for corruption, Xinhua News Agency reported on Tuesday. The verdict comes as part of a widespread anti-corruption crackdown by the authorities in Beijing.

Liu Liange, was sentenced to death with a two-year reprieve for accepting bribes worth an equivalent of nearly $17 million and illegally issuing loans, according to Xinhua. Liu served as chairman of the Bank of China for four years until his resignation in March 2023, several weeks before the authorities revealed that he was facing corruption charges. He was arrested in October of last year. According to Tuesday’s ruling, all of Liu’s personal property will be confiscated, and all his illegal gains must be recovered and turned over to the state treasury.

The two-year reprieve, awarded because the accused had cooperated with authorities and shown remorse, means that the sentence will only be carried out if Liu commits further crimes during the period, Reuters has reported. If reprieved, the 63-year-old will serve a life sentence.

Liu is the latest high-profile figure to be sentenced to death as part of widespread anti-corruption efforts ordered by President Xi Jinping targeting the country’s $60 trillion financial sector. Former deputy central bank governor Fan Yifei was sentenced to death for bribery in October, also with a two-year reprieve. In May, Bai Tianhui, a former executive at one of the country’s largest state-controlled asset management firms, was sentenced to death for accepting bribes worth nearly $152 million.

Can you imagine comparable anti-corruption efforts being carried out in the USA? This is the equivalent of Alan Greenspan and Ben Bernanke being arrested and sentenced to death. But the problem in the USA is so out of hand that it would probably be far more efficient to ask the Russians to drop a few Oreshnik’s on Wall Street.

Strike Two

There are signs that Russia is going to be launching another Oreshnik missile strike very soon.

Russia has issued another Notice To Air Missions (NOTAM) closing its air space over Kapustin Yar. This was the area from which Russia launched its new Oreshnik Ballistic Missile at Ukraine last week.

Since that Russian launch, which utterly obliterated a Soviet-era munitions factory inside Ukraine, the Ukrainians have again used American-supplied ATACMS to launch at least THREE MORE attacks into Russia, primarily in the Kursk region.

It seems logical to believe Russia is going to launch again as response to Ukraine continuing to use west-supplied missiles to strike interior Russia.

One might also theorize that it won’t be just one Oreshnik this time.

The NOTAM Begins on 11-27-2024 at 0400 UTC.

The Corruption of Modern Medicine

A Midwestern Doctor explains why hospitals are increasingly dangerous and hostile environments for patients, and how the transformation of them into profit centers has incentivized them to prioritize financial incentives over patient health and human life.

During COVID-19, one travel nurse who was assigned to a New York hospital with one of the highest death tolls in the nation realized something very wrong was happening throughout the hospital and decided to covertly record her colleagues and become a whistleblower. Within her testimony, one particular recording she made was particularly illuminating as a doctor perfectly illustrated the dysfunctional mentality that has infected our medical system by stating he was unwilling to try any alternative therapy (which had some evidence behind it) for patients he knew would otherwise die.

Much of this in turn, was due to a series of standardized treatment protocols being created for COVID-19, which heavily financially incentivized remdesivir and then ventilator care while simultaneously avoiding an effective off-patent treatment for COVID-19. Despite remdesivir actually increasing the death rate from COVID-19, hospital administrators still pushed their doctors to use it (and retaliated against those who did not follow the NIH COVID protocols) because of how powerful the financial incentives were for doing so.

Overall, the remarkable illustration of this corruption was the fact that families eventually began suing hospitals to allow the use of ivermectin for a relative who was expected to die even after being subjected to Fauci’s hospital COVID protocols. Remarkably, because there was so much money on the line, the hospitals chose to fight these lawsuits in court rather than just give ivermectin to the patients. In turn, of the 80 lawsuits filed by lawyer Ralph Lorigo, in 40 the judge sided with the family, and in 40 with the hospital, and of those, in the 40 where patients received ivermectin, 38 survived, whereas of the 40 who did not, 2 survived—in essence making suing a hospital arguably the most effective medical intervention in history. Yet, rather than take this data into consideration, the profit-focused hospitals banded together to develop an effective apparatus to dismiss further lawsuits.

Never forget that the doctors don’t answer to their consciences, the law, or the Hippocratic Oath anymore, they answer to the hospital administrators. And the administrators don’t care about human life any more than the average corporate executive, which is considerably less than the average street-level drug dealer. At least the latter values his customers enough to want to keep them alive so he can keep selling to them; hospital adminstrators are perfectly content with every one-and-done customer.

It’s wise to review the patient survival statistics of your various hospital options, and stay out of those institutions that have inferior track records.

Not In Danger, Doomed

It is gradually beginning to dawn on the Eurocrats that their grand project is headed for a catastrophic collapse:

The future of the EU is in jeopardy at a time of multiple crises beyond its borders and doubts over defense guarantees from the US, Brussels’ outgoing foreign policy chief said on Monday. Josep Borrell painted an alarming picture of the state of world affairs when marking the release of a collection of his speeches and essays titled ‘Europe in the Arc of Fire.’ He listed conflicts in Ukraine, Gaza, and Africa among the key factors threatening global security.

“The events we have had to face during the last several months have – unfortunately – confirmed the diagnosis made earlier: Europe is in danger,” Borrell wrote on his office’s website.

“Our geopolitical environment is deteriorating, and conflicts and crises are multiplying on our doorstep. From Ukraine to the Middle East, via South Caucasus, the Horn of Africa or the Sahel,” he added. “All of this against a backdrop where the future US commitment to European security is becoming much more uncertain.”

The European Union has no future. It is an incoherent, anti-democratic institution sold on false pretenses, reliant upon false promises, and it will be neither the first nor the last supernatural currency regime to collapse under the weight of its inconsistencies.

It was never going to work, but the decision of its unelected leaders to actively oppose and suppress the nationalism of its member-nations rendered it unhealthy and indefensible. There isn’t a single European who is willing to fight to defend Brussels, indeed, the sickness of the EU now runs so deep that there are few Germans who are willing to fight to defend Berlin and few Frenchmen who are willing to fight to defend Paris.

The only thing that prevents Russia from conquering Europe is that Russia has no desire to rule over Europe and never has. It has always been European countries invading Russia, not the other way around, dating back to the days of Charles II, the Great Northern War, and the Swedish invasion of Russia.

The sooner Italy, Hungary, France, and Germany withdraw from the autocratic imperial rule of Brussels, the better it will be, not only for the nationals of those nations, but for the world.

Asking For Trouble

The US military is deploying missile bases in Japan and the Philippines in support of an anticipated war with China over Taiwan:

The U.S. military will set up temporary bases along Japan’s southwestern Nansei island chain and the Philippines to deploy missile units in the event of a Taiwan contingency, sources familiar with Japan-U.S. relations said Sunday.

The deployment of the missile units will be incorporated in the first joint operation plan for the United States and Japan to cope with a contingency involving Taiwan and China, which regards the self-ruled island as its own, to be formulated in December.

The U.S. Marine Littoral Regiment, which possesses a multiple-launch High Mobility Artillery Rocket System, will be deployed along the island chain stretching from the Japanese prefectures of Kagoshima and Okinawa toward Taiwan, according to the sources.

From an early stage, when a Taiwan contingency becomes highly imminent, temporary bases will be set up on inhabited islands of the island chain, based on U.S. military guidelines for dispatching Marines in small formations to several locations.

The Japan Self-Defense Forces is expected to mainly engage in logistical support for the marine unit, including supplying fuel and ammunition.

Apparently bravado and bluff is the order of the day. They’re not limiting their imperial overstretch to Europe.

Thanksgiving Sale 2024

Castalia Library is pleased to announce this year’s Thanksgiving Sale. Since last year’s sale was so successful, we decided to expand it this year to include more of our books that we still have in the warehouse in an attempt to whittle down our stock. Due to a series of issues ranging from a printer printing a double-run of interiors to losing 20 percent of our subscribers during the no-shipping debacle that inspired the creation of the bindery, we still have excess stock of six books that we’d like to address:

The following 7 books are available to everyone at a price of $64.99 for the duration of the sale. No discount code is needed.

Please note that no discount code will work on books on sale; subscribers should note that you may not even be able to use a discount code at the time of purchase if you also have a book on sale in your cart. Two separate purchases may be necessary.

Since we’re at it, the following 7 books are also available to everyone, albeit at a price of $79.99 for the duration. No discount code is needed.

The sale ends midnight on November 30. First come, first serve; we just concluded a two-day secret sale that was only available to subscribers that has resulted in six more books going out of stock, including three that we had already thought were out of stock, but managed to dig up a few more copies when we consolidated the warehouses. When we’re out, we’re out.

The Babylon Bee is… Babylonian

It’s funny, sure, but I don’t read the Babylon Bee because it is no more on the side of the truth than CNN or the Onion.

I’m not against a certain kind of nationalism that takes culture, beliefs, and character into account. America should be for Americans, and we should start defining exactly what that means because right now things are a mess.

What I’m against is white nationalism. I think skin color is a stupid thing to base “ethnos” on. And because I believe skin color is irrelevant, Auron will straw-man me and say that must mean I believe America is just an “economic zone” or “tax farm” or slander me as a multiculturalist.

Assuming he isn’t stupid, the reason he presents a false choice between racial “purity” and multiculturalism is because he believes culture is inextricably linked to race, or as many of his followers always tell me on here, “culture is downstream from race.” I disagree with that statement. I think it’s not only wrong scientifically, I think it is a godless error of materialism that denies the Imago Dei and reduces men to products of their DNA.

America as a creedal nation is a great idea I truly believe in. The problem is we haven’t taught, passed down, enforced, or required allegiance to the creed—and that needs to change.

He’s not against “a certain kind of nationalism” that isn’t nationalism at all. There is no such thing as “a creedal nation”. Civic nationalism is a modern deconstruction of nationalism; it was articulated by Hans Kohn in his book The Idea of Nationalism: A Study in Its Origins and Background published in 1944. It’s an entirely false and intrinsically subversive concept that was utilized to first subvert the USA and is now being used to subvert and destroy nations from Scandinavia and Great Britain to Japan. No one who subscribes to such an obvious falsehood is in line with either a) the Bible, b) the Founding Fathers, c) the U.S. Constitution, or d) science.

All creatures are products of their DNA. And here we see the intrinsic snakery revealed, as he attempts to derive the nonexistence of nationalism – literally, natalism or blood kinship – from the existence of the Imago Dei, or the “image of God”. This is not the act of one who is misguided, but rather, one who seeks to mislead. And as always, anytime anyone mentions the word “god”, one can assume nothing until one learns to which god the other person is referring.
