The faithful lose their way

The Church of Star Citizen has lost a brother:

Its always going to be hard leaving a cult that I helped to build – But it was time to do it.

Not only has the game changed, but so has the community. Its hard to watch the transition between “tech savvy people with a bit of money to invest in a fun project” into “hypemachine! – you are not valid unless you invest, and subsequently don’t complain”

It is a shame that CR has not been able to admit to himself that he couldn’t handle this, and I promise – this is the same goddamn problem every single one of us have, role delegation, letting someone else take over, when we don’t have the time/skills to do it anymore.

So, assets are getting done, redone, changed, people jump off, new guys come in, hype online, the name that shouldn’t be mentioned, grey market crashing, 2.0 another disappointment, this feels like a DEMO cd from the front of a magazine in the damn 90’s… AAAARRRH……

Silence. . . .I had had enough. This project’s direction is lost within itself.

I had tried to sell my stuff, so that CIG could keep the money I had donated, but, I couldn’t even get half of what I had invested. So, I decided to just mail CIG and ask them for my money back. And they gave it to me.

We will see. But certainly events do seem to be following the direction Derek Smart predicted. Which is not at all to say that he is responsible for them going that way.

Did I not say as much?

I have never claimed to be a conservative or a Republican. For some reason, a fair number of people seem to have trouble grasping this. But the real self-proclaimed conservatives don’t seem to have any trouble doing so, such as Mr. Marcus from yesterday’s post concerning his Federalist article.

David Marcus ‏@BlueBoxDave
So @voxday did a portrait of me, the good news is he disavows conservatism as there is no place in it for him.

Vox Day @voxday
You’re absolutely right. Unlike conservatives, I have principles beyond “don’t get called racist” and “incoming, surrender!”

David Marcus ‏@BlueBoxDave
Good luck with your American Nationalist movement. I can’t wait to see the outfits.

Vox Day @voxday
It’s fascinating to see conservatives devolve to imitating the left. You’ve got nothing they don’t do better. #cuckservative

David Marcus ‏@BlueBoxDave
Opposing racial discrimination is not a leftist position. It’s an American position.

Vox Day ‏@voxday
That’s absolute ahistorical bullshit. Anti-racism is anti-nationalism. Which, by definition, is anti-American. Your position is opposed to Franklin, Washington, Jefferson, and Hamilton, just for starters.

He didn’t read the book

SJWAL didn’t reach New Zealand in time to prevent one gentleman from cutting his company’s throat by apologizing:

On the company’s Facebook page Mr Garratt offered his apologies.

“We apologise to all those who have been offended by our sign. It was very poor judgment on our part.”

In an earlier post, he said there was no offence intended.

“It was not our intention to offend any people in the community … Cait is more then [sic] welcome to stay at my house with my family anytime. I will have a wine or a beer with her quite happily and it would be an honour.”

Rebecca Jones, the mother of a 9-year-old transgender boy, was not satisfied and wanted a “face-to-face apology”.

“He seems to think a donation is enough. It is not,” she said. “I want an apology to my 9-year-old son AND a donation, and the transgender community is behind me on this.”

Ms Jones said he was just trying to “save his reputation”.

Well, he’s not going to be able to do so. When you find yourself in a position of repeatedly apologizing to child abusers – and as Camille Paglia says, treating a child as if he is “transgender” is child abuse – that should be your first sign that your strategy is less than entirely effective.

What part of NEVER APOLOGIZE is hard to understand? When someone comes to you and demands an apology, there is only one correct response: “No, absolutely not.”

An apology to SJWs is no different than a confession to the police. It is not the end of the matter, it is something to be delivered to the prosecution.

Of shopping and survival

It’s rather remarkable that David Brooks is still regarded, by some, to be a serious and thoughtful public intellectual, when in reality he is about as deep and reflective as Britney Spears hopped up on anti-depressants. Here he explains, in the aftermath of the most recent Islamic immigrant massacre, why the appeal of Donald Trump is bound to fade:

A little while ago I went rug shopping. Four rugs were laid out on the floor and among them was one with a pink motif that was dazzlingly beautiful. It was complex and sophisticated. If you had asked me at that moment which rug I wanted, I would have said the pink one.

This conviction lasted about five minutes. But then my mentality flipped and I started asking some questions. Would the furniture go with this rug? Would this rug clash with the wall hangings? Would I get tired of its electric vibrancy?

Suddenly a subtler and more prosaic blue rug grabbed center stage. The rugs had not changed, but suddenly I wanted the blue rug. The pink rug had done an excellent job of being eye-popping on its own. The blue rug was doing an excellent job of being a rug I could enjoy living with.

That’s right. The analogy from which Brooks draws his political model is his own interior-decorating habits. If I was a similarly shallow thinker, I would argue that Marco Rubio is bound to win because I had a glass of Spanish Tempranillo with lunch today and he is the most obviously Spanish candidate in the mix.

I am not certain yet that Trump is capable of overcoming the all-out war that will be waged on him by both factions of the bi-factional ruling party. The Republican establishment already has its knives out for him, but the Democratic establishment has not yet begun to fight. But I would not count him out either, especially in an environment where Americans quite rightly feel threatened by the hostile invaders that the ruling party has established in their midst.

But speaking of politics, and political philosophy, I am pleased to be able to say that SJWs Always Lie is now #1 in Political Philosophy on Amazon UK and is in the top 1,000 overall on  #1 in Political Philosophy on Amazon Australia as well.

Portrait of a cuckservative

It would be hard to get much more cucky than this. This is simply a straightforward and unabashed cuckservative surrender to left-liberal fantasy:

Anti-Racism Is a Conservative Issue

The Left is happy to go on endlessly promoting policy prescriptions for racism and justifying state control of anything and everything along the way. Conservatives do not have that luxury. Racism undermines conservative ideals of individual responsibility, freedom of speech, and limited government in ways it does not with progressive ideals. The Left believes it can coerce equality on a racist population. Conservatives do not. Conservatism demands that we overcome this problem ourselves.

Implicit in the demand for limited government is a responsibility to treat people fairly. Conservatives are not anarchists. We do not eschew moral norms, we insist upon them. Any concept of conservative morality must contain the duty to treat people as they are, not as symbols or reflections of their racial caste. On that moral principle, we have not been insistent enough. But there are ways for conservatives to tackle this issue, and they hold much more promise than the tired digital privilege theory pamphlets so pervasive on our Internet feeds.

The first step is mostly symbolic. It is simply to accept the racism that exists in our society and to call it an important problem. On its own, this admission will do nothing. But it will lay the groundwork for positive approaches and assure people of color that conservatives are not blind to their concerns.

A second and vital step is for conservatives to start developing a competing anti-racism agenda. The focus of this agenda should be the irrational nature of racism, not its immorality. It should harken back to the outdated but much more successful color-blind model, which demands we treat people as individuals, not as representatives of a demographic. Our think tanks and foundations should develop curriculum around this ideal and demand equal access in education. We must demand that diversity and race in culture be treated as a conversation, not a lecture.

It’s always amusing to see cuckservatives roll over, play dead, then wag their tails, hoping to win that elusive left-liberal approval at last. But, as he’ll find out soon enough, the color-blind model is not only outdated, it is has been deemed irredeemably racist by the very people whose favor he is attempting to curry.

Sorry, cuckservative. Even your anti-racism is racist. But this piece does serve the useful role of pointing out that there is no proper “conservative” ideology, as it is nothing more than “what the Democrats said, only a little less of it and 20 years later.”

So forget conservatism. It is an abject failure and has conserved nothing. The only thing that has the capability of surviving and taking down the left is a strongly nationalist American party.

Government isn’t fixing this either

The New York Daily News has announced that God is not going to fix the problem of Muslims murdering people in California:

GOP presidential candidates offer prayers — not solutions on gun control — after San Bernardino massacre

Prayers aren’t working.

White House hopefuls on the Democratic side of the aisle called for stricter gun laws in the wake of the shooting in San Bernardino that left at least 14 dead.

But after yet another mass shooting in America, GOP presidential contenders were conspicuously silent on the issue of gun control.

Instead, the Republicans were preaching about prayer.

“Our prayers are with the victims, their families, and the first responders in San Bernardino who willingly go into harm’s way to save others,” Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) tweeted.

It was remarkably similar to the response from Cruz following the shooting at a Planned Parenthood office in Colorado Springs last week.

“Praying for the loved ones of those killed, those injured & first responders who bravely got the situation under control in Colorado Springs,” Cruz tweeted at the time.

Democrats — even those not running for office — slammed the GOP presidential candidates for offering prayers instead of action.

“Your ‘thoughts’ should be about steps to take to stop this carnage,” Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn) posted on Twitter. “Your ‘prayers’ should be for forgiveness if you do nothing — again.”

Now, let’s get this perfectly straight, would-be gun-banners. There is a much better chance, it is far more likely, that God will answer people’s prayers, descend from on high, and forever put an end to all gun violence tomorrow morning before breakfast than tens of millions of armed Americans will EVER permit you, or the federal government, or anyone else, to disarm them.

Give it up. It isn’t happening. Not now. Not ever. Deal with it. We don’t care how many dead bureaucrats or how many corpses of kindergarten kids you want to run up your bloody flag and wave. WE. DON’T. CARE. We aren’t falling for the sob stories again. Not now. Not ever.

Molon labe, motherfuckers. Molon labe.

Recommended Kickstarter

I just backed an excellent RPG Kickstarter called Lairs & Encounters by Autarch. It’s only $600 away from lift-off, so if you’re any sort of gamer, take my advice, throw in, and put them over the top.

Lairs & Encounters is the ultimate supplement for fantasy RPG sandbox campaigns. Designed for use with the Adventurer Conqueror King System™ (ACKS™), it is readily compatible with other fantasy role-playing games built on the same core rules. In Lairs & Encounters you will find:

  •     More than 135 ready-to-play monstrous lairs – that’s at least one lair listing for every possible monster lair mentioned in the Adventurer Conqueror King System. The lair listings are designed to be used both as dynamic points of interest that can be discovered while wandering through the wilderness and as obstacles to a would-be ruler’s attempt to secure land for a domain.
  •     New subsystems for sandbox play, including rules for populating 6-mile hexes with lairs based on the terrain and extent of settlements in the region, and rules for searching for lairs in the wilderness factoring in terrain density, aerial reconnaissance, splitting up to cover more ground (never split the party!), and more.
  •     Additional mechanics for monsters, including ability scores for monsters, proficiencies for monsters, and young monsters.
  •     A complete system for taming and training monsters, with details on the lifespan, roles, tricks, trained and untrained value, supply cost, training period, and the trainability modifier of every monster in the game.
  •     A complete system for creating your own unique monsters. In the ACKS Player’s Companion we gave you mechanics to create balanced new character classes and new spells; now we bring our same rigorous attention to balance and customization to monsters.

It’s roleplaying with a wargame flavor. Reminds me a bit of fantasy Traveller.

Kindle Monthly Deal

I’d meant to mention this on Monday, but I was a little distracted by putting the final editing touches on Cuckservative: How “Conservatives” Betrayed America, then by the San Bernardino Climate Change Event that had absolutely nothing to do with Islam, which, by the way, means “peace”. I think we can all agree that the recent Climate Change Events in Paris and San Bernardino only demonstrate the vital importance of the global climate accords in Paris.

But before the focus shifts to Cuckservative – and I’m confident it will, one early reviewer says “You hit this one out of the park” – I would be remiss if I failed to mention that Amazon selected SJWAL “for a Kindle Monthly Deal on both Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.com.au, running 1-31 December.” So, if you’re in the UK or Australia, the price of the Kindle version has been significantly discounted.

However, despite SJWAL being pushed by Amazon, there may be some hinky business taking place with regards to whoever is overseeing the reviews:

A while back I wrote a five-star review of your book on Amazon. They
still haven’t ‘approved’ it. As a test, I wrote new one tonight for [another Amazon product] I had bought. It was approved within minutes.

Regardless, you penned a wonderful book and I enjoyed it immensely. It
really opened my eyes and changed my attitude…which had largely been
defeatist toward the SJWs.

Two other detailed reviews have been posted recently, one by J.D. Bentley:

I knew nothing about Vox Day a couple weeks ago when his book, SJWs Always Lie: Taking Down the Thought Police, was recommended to me by Amazon. The title of the book caught my attention, but the cover even more so: an innocent, amiable smiley face bearing a forked tongue, incredibly suitable symbolism for SJWs who bully with their venomous pseudo-compassion, and insatiable thirst for the glow of self-righteousness and moral superiority.

It’s always good to know which covers are effective and which are not. And there is also a review by Death Metal Underground; apparently the metal scene is also undergoing an entryist attack by SJWs:

The information in this book will be useful to metal band members and concert organizers who are the targets of SJW attacks. Vox demonstrates, using numerous examples of attacks, that the worst thing these targets can do is apologise, as doing so simply hands the attackers “a confession to bolster their indictment.” In fact, if one learns only a single thing from this book, it should be that SJWs can’t be reasoned with at all: do not engage them in good faith, do not expect them to be honest in any way, and just plain do not take them seriously. This should come naturally to members of an artistic movement fascinated with aggression and violence. And yet, #metalgate has shown us that heavy metal is in the SJWs’ crosshairs.

Both reviews demonstrate the importance of continuing to review, tweet, and talk about books like SJWAL and Cuckservative, because a) one never knows how the word is going to leap from one insular community to the next, and b) they have practical applications in those other communities that are beyond anyone’s ability to readily foresee. For example, it doesn’t surprise me that OSS leaders like Robert Rosario and esr would find SJWAL to be useful because I know the OSS communities are under attack. But heavy metal? North Heights Lutheran Church?

It’s one thing to say any community is potentially vulnerable to SJW entryism, and another to actually see the vast extent of it. In any event, the recent reappearance of more one-star fake reviews is a good sign that it is beginning to penetrate new circles.

Speaking of the upcoming new release, if you want in on the bonus books (one of which, I will warn you, is a spectacularly and hilariously vulgar anarcho-libertarian spin on the music industry), be sure to sign up for the mailing list on the left sidebar.

So where is the third shooter?

All the early reports talked about three shooters, the police scanner discussed one suspect being detained, and the two killed in the SUV have been identified as Syed Farook and Tashfeen Malik. But there has been nothing more about the reports of the 28 year-old Qatari named “Tayyeep Bin Ardogan” who was also identified as a shooter, although the name seems more than a little dubious as it is very similar to the name of the Turkish prime minister and Ardogan/Erdogan sounds Turkish, not Qatari. And yet, it appears the age is right.

A man who identified himself as Farook’s father told The New York Daily News his son worked as a health technician inspecting restaurants and hotels.

“I haven’t heard anything. He worked in a county office,” he said. “He’s married and has a kid. We’re estranged because my wife got the divorce, and they are together. She doesn’t want to see me.”

He added that he had not seen his son for some time.

“He was very religious. He would go to work, come back, go to pray, come back. He’s Muslim.”

Farook’s name first emerged after the two masked shooters opened fire at the party. Over a radio transmission, an officer could be heard telling a dispatcher that Farook was “acting nervous” and had walked out of the party 20 minutes before the shooting began. Other reports suggested he had been asked to leave.

The attackers were armed with handguns and rifles, and were dressed in camouflage clothing.

Meredith Davis, a spokeswoman for the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms, told NBC News: “With my experience with other mass shootings, there are indicators that this was well planned out.

“It was to be violent in nature. They were in tactical gear, I don’t know if they had ballistic protection… And had several several magazines full of ammunition fashioned to their bodies. So they were ready for a gunfight should that occur.”

There is currently scant detail about Tashfeen Malik, the second shooter, but San Bernardino police chief Jarrod Burguan said she was 27 years old.

Mr Burguan said: “We’re pretty comfortable that the two shooters that went into the building are the two shooters deceased on San Bernardino Avenue.”

“The first one is Syed, Rizwan, last name Farook. He is 28 years old. I am told that he is US-born. The person that was with him is a female. Her name is Tashfeen, last name Malik. She is 27 years old.”

Malik and Farook were husband and wife, according to the Los Angeles Times newspaper, while the police would only say they were “in a relationship”.

However, Farook’s colleagues at the Inland Regional Centre – where 14 people were shot dead and another 17 were wounded – told the LA Times that he had gone to Saudi Arabia and returned with a new wife, whom he had met online. An unnamed family member identified the wife as Malik.

One can’t help but notice there is a Saudi connection again. In any event, I’m sure we can all agree that Anthropogenic Global Warming/Climate Change is to blame and we all have a responsibility to ensure the Senate passes the Paris accords.

San Bernardino shooting

12 people killed in shooting at San Bernardino social services facility.

The
shooting took place at the Inland Regional Center, a nonprofit that
works with individuals with developmental disabilities, at 1365 S.
Waterman Avenue. The complex is comprised of three buildings.

Investigators
were searching the building and have yet to clear it. Police said there
were reports of one to three shooters involved, and they were described
to be wearing ski masks.

A source confirmed to Eyewitness News
that there were three shooters armed with rifles, and there were no
suspects in custody. Riverside police said they are helping other
agencies look for male suspects in a black SUV, possibly a GMC Yukon.

I look forward to hearing Dr. Carson blame the hateful rhetoric concerning individuals with developmental disabilities. In any event, what an unnecessary tragedy… if only they had thought to make the Center a gun-free zone this could have been avoided.

Archived link to initial reports.

Seriously, though, this one looks a little strange, unless the “white” men turn out to be of the “white Chechnyan” variety. Even allowing for “crazy enough to spree kill, why would a group of three men target a nondescript non-profit? If it was one guy, you’d think bad romance or disgruntled employee; a group of three makes it look like jihadist terrorism, but the shooters were described as white and why would jihadists target the Inland Regional Center?

Anyhow, yet another reminder. Always carry. Don’t leave home unarmed.

UPDATE: The Other Robot comments: Whites, eh? POSSIBLE SUSPECT: Farook Syed, was acting nervous, left building, 20 minutes later shooting occurred, matches description.

Farook, is that an Irish name?

UPDATE 2: Good updates at The Last Refuge.

UPDATE 3: Police feed is here. Sounds like a shootout has started. Helicopters and M4s. Male, dark-skinned description. One guy down, one guy in the back of a car. Heard shouts of “hold your fire.”

They’re bringing in a Bearcat. One suspect down inside the car, one on the run.

Call for medical aid. Officer down, but hit by ricochet. He’s okay and doesn’t need immediate medical attention. They can’t get the Bearcat through the traffic down the

Mention of bodies, plural, inside the car. Sounds like they got two, are in pursuit of the third.

“Is that our Bearcat?” (Made me laugh. Are there a lot of them in California?)

They’re setting up for a crossfire. Sounds risky. One down in the street, but moving.

One detained. One confirmed in custody. Sealing off the perimeter around the car.

One suspect alive in the backseat. SWAT team being sent out to an address, they know who these guys are now.

They’re going into the address. “It’s like female Arabic”.

Interesting to see how cautious they are. “We’re sitting ducks.” They want air support and more units. Not hard to see why police units historically fare poorly in combat.

Body was just pulled out of the SUV.

All suspects now believed accounted for.
