All bark, no backbone

My intention is never to offend anyone for his or her personal beliefs, and I am sorry if anyone was personally offended by writings meant only as criticisms of public politics. Freedom of religion and freedom of expression are central rights, and the sum of my personal writings is a testament to this fact.” – Amynda

“[I have] an unwavering support of religious freedom and a deep respect for diverse beliefs. It has never been my intention to disparage people’s individual faith, and I’m sorry if my words were taken in that way.” – Shakespeare’s Sister

I have no doubt there will be plenty of opportunity to hang both of these dimwits on those words. What a pair of cowards! If I was a fan of either of those blogs, I’d be sickened at the boot-licking on display here, especially considering how those fans were going on and on about how disgusting they found John Edwards’ presumed willingness to bow to necessity.

Of course, being a feminist means never having to make sense.

While I’m delighted that they’ll both be around for further public blog-kicking, I fully expect Amynda to break under the pressure of trying to watch her tongue. She’ll land herself in hot water again long before Edwards drops out of the race to endorse the Lizard Queen.

As for me, I shall intentionally offend whomever I wish, whenever I wish, for whatever reason I wish. This includes, but is not limited to, your personal beliefs, your intellect, your physical appearance, your opinion on a particular matter, your abilities or your lack of abilities, your sex, your race, your language or your national origin.

Furthermore, I have yet to apologize for or retract anything that I have written in a WorldNetDaily column or on this blog. Nor do I foresee any probability of doing so in the future.

NCAA to women: you are inferior

It’s official:

The N.C.A.A. recommends that women not be weighed on a regular basis, said Dr. Ron A. Thompson, a psychologist and eating-disorder therapist in Bloomington, Ind., who consults with the collegiate association. He said he opposed making weights public and the practice of weighing female athletes. Lining athletes up for weigh-ins is a form of “public degradation,” Thompson said.

Naturally, we wouldn’t want to risk breaking their fragile little minds by allowing them to know how much their own freaking bodies weigh! Women apparently can’t handle that knowledge. But they can handle the sacrosanct responsibility of voting… which tells you all you need to know about how important voting truly is.

The thing that’s so stupid about this is that weight is an important aspect of many competitive sports. It determines whether a football team will try to run on its opponents defensive line or not, it is part of the equation determining whether a basketball center will need help defending against his opposite number and it is intrinsic to most martial arts matchups.

If single-sex education is banned, single-sex sports should be too. If you’re not good enough to compete with the big boys, then you’re not good enough, period. Or the little girls, for that matter. I wouldn’t expect men to compete in certain gymnastics events any better than women would in the NFL.

The crazy stuff

Space Diapers demonstrates one way in which women can have it all:

Lisa Nowak chose a juggling act of dauntingly high difficulty: to be an astronaut and a mother of three.

Her background – high school valedictorian, Naval Academy graduate, test pilot – seemed to equip her for the challenge. Yet as she and some of her acquaintances acknowledged, the stresses on her and her family were extraordinarily intense.

On Wednesday, transformed from space hero to criminal suspect, Nowak returned to Houston for a medical assessment, a day after she was charged in Florida with attempted murder and attempted kidnapping in what police depicted as a love triangle involving a fellow astronaut.

The woman viewed as a role model by the schoolchildren she often addressed was met on the tarmac by police and escorted into a waiting squad car. Her head was covered by a jacket. She was later released on bail, with orders to stay away from the other woman and to wear a monitoring device; she faced a medical exam at Johnson Space Center.

While the whole story is extremely funny, except for the matter of the three kids involved, it is only the latest example of a much-lauded, high-flying woman crashing and burning. Sometimes they do this quite literally, and I’d be quite interested to see someone do a study on these female models of accomplishment to determine what percentage of them end up as complete train wrecks.

Recently, one of Blair’s Babes died, a female MP whose life fell completely apart after she was elected to Parliament, a similar example of the particular toll that great success seems to exact from some women.

Now, there have always been a higher percentage of crazies than normal among the most accomplished men. But what’s striking here is the high percentage of crazies among the women and the level of self-destructiveness which only seems to appear after their success has been attained.

This does not bode well for a nation soon to be governed by Ms Pelosi and Ms Rodham.

Sen. Edwards’ vision for America

St. Amynda the Children’s Advocate

One thing I vow here and now–you motherfuckers who want to ban birth control will never sleep. I will fuck without making children day in and out and you will know it and you won’t be able to stop it. Toss and turn, you mean, jealous motherfuckers. I’m not going to be “punished” with babies. Which makes all your efforts a failure. Some non-procreating women escaped. So give up now. You’ll never catch all of us. Give up now.

Um, okay. But you know, it’s not the vision of that naked, lumpy body engaged in frantic and fruitless activity that haunts me, it’s the horrifying thought of that poor other party forced to participate in the daily ritual. Shouldn’t someone alert PETA?

“God I love it when people call me names. Sometimes the urge to curbcheck some motherfuckers is hard to control. I’m a sadistic asshole, but I am a sadistic ass in the name of justice…. I wish I wasn’t a cum-guzzling boozehound.”

Is anyone else beginning to think that it’s a genuine tragedy that John Edwards didn’t hire Amynda as his speechwriter instead of his blogmaster? Can’t you just picture him walking to the podium, fresh from a happy and relaxing half-hour spent dreamily brushing his hair, then clearing his throat and beginning to read his speech… until his eyes begin to widen and he frantically glances around the crowd as he starts to realize what is coming out of his mouth?

I think we should join Cthulhu’s Coven and Shakespeare’s Sisterhood in writing to the Edwards campaign, demanding that he not only retain Amynda, but promote her to lead speechwriter.

John Edwards’ cum-guzzler

Those familiar with Cthulhu’s Coven know very well why John Edwards might want to keep Ms Marcotte around:

The Catholic League, a conservative religious group, is demanding that Mr. Edwards dismiss the two, Amanda Marcotte of the Pandagon blog site and Melissa McEwan, who writes on her blog, Shakespeare’s Sister, for expressing anti-Catholic opinions.

Mr. Edwards, a former North Carolina senator, is among the leading Democratic presidential candidates.

Bill Donohue, president of the Catholic League, said in a statement on Tuesday, “John Edwards is a decent man who has had his campaign tarnished by two anti-Catholic vulgar trash-talking bigots.”

Mr. Edwards’s spokeswoman, Jennifer Palmieri, said Tuesday night that the campaign was weighing the fate of the two bloggers.

And it’s back to the bureacracy for everyone’s favorite “cum-guzzling boozehound“, as she described herself in the comments to her post dedicated to “racist fucks who complained about looting”. The fate of the two raging feminists is surely settled already, it’s likely only the manner of the dismissal that is left to be determined.

Perhaps Amynda can announce that she is retiring from the Edwards campaign in order to spend more time with her abortions.

By the way, how is Edwards “among the leading Democratic presidential candidates”? If you’ve got less than half the support of the front runner, you’re just another member of the pack.

The most amusing thing about this “scandal” is the way in which Amynda’s pretensions to being a keen political analyst have been exposed as being as empty as her core ideology. I mean, how hard is it to understand that you simply cannot speak or write in a controversial manner and expect to be allowed to play in the world of superficial public impressions, when the most successful political commentators of our time, Ann Coulter and Rush Limbaugh, were bounced from National Review and ESPN?

At least you know you’re free

A state senator from Brooklyn said on Tuesday he plans to introduce legislation that would ban people from using an MP3 player, cell phone, Blackberry or any other electronic device while crossing the street in either New York City or Buffalo.

NewsChannel 4 reported that Sen. Carl Kruger is proposing the ban in response to two recent pedestrian deaths in his district, including a 23-year-old man who was struck and killed last month while listening to his iPod on Avenue T and East 71st Street In Bergen Beach.

“While people are tuning into their iPods and cell phones, they’re tuning out the world around them,” Kruger said. The proposed law would make talking on cell phones while crossing the street a comparable offense to jaywalking.

Why not just go all the way and ban walking while chewing gum? Boy, I’m sure glad women can vote, because otherwise, this just wouldn’t be a free country!

I have this image of purple-fingered suffrage fetishists strapped into gel-filled cocoons, lying curled into fetal positions with cables entering into every orifice in their bodies. And as they lie there, without even the smallest shard of human dignity left to them, they console each other with the thought that in only eighteen months, they can choose which of the two artificial intelligences on offer will be feeding off the Matrix for the next 100 years.

And while this absurd law hasn’t passed yet, I remember a lot of people insisting that the smoking bans would never come to pass either. Now that I think about it, I can even remember when people insisted that HMOs would reduce healthcare costs without hurting doctors’ salaries!

Ah well. We can always content ourselves with the amusing look of horror on women’s faces when the mandatory prostitution laws take effect. To each according to his need, from each according to his ability….

The portable 1980s

What’s better than a Treo? Why, naturally, a faster Treo with higher resolution! I’ll write up a full review of the Treo 680 in a few weeks here, but this morning I’m a little disappointed with the way in which the Bliss Intellivision emulator and the Apple II emulator both failed to work properly on my new Treo.

But I’m sure we’ll get that straightened out sooner or later, the main thing is that the keyboard is more amenable for note typing, the phone is a little flaky but works fine and the ebooks look better than ever. It was a great move to stick with SD instead of mini-SD for this smartphone, which means that I can use it happily until someone comes out with a Wi-fi smartphone with equivalent functionality on Palm or some Linux.

A correction

Nashville Knucklehead summarizes improperly:

A long time ago, Aunt B. got caught up in the threshing machine known as Vox Day. Vox Day is some pinhead with a blog and he gets a lot of readers and he declares all kinds of facts, none of which I remember, other than feminists are idiots, liberals are idiots, non-gun-owners are idiots, environmentalists are idiots and that he is an alpha male.

Actually, I specifically stated that I am not an alpha male, not being a pack animal like the majority of human beings. However, because I am not submissive, alphas often mistakenly believe that I am one of them and either resent or are amused by their inability to dominate me.

I once had a meeting with a physically large CEO who I knew liked to play the “looming” card. During the meeting, he came around from behind his desk to stand over me while I was sitting in a chair. To deal with this stupid primate trick, I simply got up from the chair and sat down on his desk while continuing with the conversation. His eyes got big and he clearly wanted to object, but I simply held his gaze and dared him to make something of it. He quit with the alpha displays after that.

Now, if I may clarify, feminists are evil, liberals are maleducated, non-gun owners ARE idiots although I would tend to prefer to label them parasites, and I don’t actually have any problem with environmentalists who don’t happen to be a) watermelons or b) liars. In fact, I can’t even recall ever once writing about environmentalists one way or another, except to express my skepticism about the “science” of man-made global warming.

As for Nate, let the hausfrauhrer defend himself….

Advice for would-be writers

Don’t quit your day job:

US workers may be significantly less literate in 2030 than they are today.

The reason: Most baby boomers will be retiring and a large wave of less-educated immigrants will be moving into the workforce. This downward shift in reading and math skills suggests a huge challenge for educators and policymakers in the future, according to a new report from the Educational Testing Service (ETS).

Keith Olbermann exposed

While I quite enjoyed Keith Olbermann and Dan Patrick back in the Golden Age of ESPN, Olbermann really should have stuck to sports. Bane points us to Mark Levin’s methodical exposure of Olbermann as a truly pathetic excuse for a human being. I particularly liked the stories about Olbermann’s hiding under his desk prior to going on air and the way he made up an excuse about a relative dying in order to get out of a second date with a woman he’d flown to New York before suffering another form of performance anxiety.

The beatdown is neither the most brutal nor the most intellectual I’ve ever heard, but it’s mostly public information, and anyway, there just isn’t much intellectual substance to attack when you’re dealing with lightweights like Olbermann. Credit to Levin for hitting back like Ann Coulter instead of re-enacting Michelle Malkin’s gaping goldfish impression on Hardball.

In case one doubts the severe lack of intellectual depth possessed by the left’s brightest media stars, consider the way in which both Amynda and Keith Olbermann are apparently unaware of the fact that emails and blog posts don’t actually disappear into the aether.
