Simon & Schuster cancels Dangerous

It’s official. From Publisher’s Weekly:

After enduring withering criticism since it was revealed in late December that it planned to publish a book by controversial Breitbart editor Milo Yiannopoulos, Simon & Schuster said late Monday that it has canceled the book.

A brief statement released by the company read: “After careful consideration, Simon & Schuster and its Threshold Editions imprint have cancelled publication of Dangerous by Milo Yiannopoulos.”

Castalia will certainly publish it, if Milo is amenable.

I will do a Darkstream tonight, touching on this and other things, at 7 PM Eastern. The replay is here.

Pedophile projection

It appears some of the Pizzagate pedos are trying to run a disqualify-and-discredit game on Milo by claiming that he is one of them. Notice all the weasel words and unfounded assertions with which they are surrounding their accusatory non-accusations:

  • Milo Yiannopoulos appears to speak fondly of pedophilia in video
  • Alt-Right Creep Milo Under Fire For Seemingly Defending Pedophilia
  • CPAC Blasted for Milo Invite Following Pedophilia Remarks
  • CPAC under pressure to cancel Milo speech after pedophilia defense.

Appears. Seemingly. Remarks. Now, I am entirely confident that Milo will absolutely welcome a serious investigation into pedophilia in the media and in the inner circles of power. But will those now affecting to criticize him? Unlike the former Speaker of the House, Dennis Hastert, Milo has openly criticized pedophiles. He has publicly said – in the very video where he was supposedly “defending pedophilia” – said that the age of consent of 16 is “about right”.

Milo’s direct statement could not possibly be more clear on the subject. Unlike Salon and anti-GG, he has never defended pedophiles. Quite the contrary, as a matter of fact.

I do not support pedophilia. Period. It is a vile and disgusting crime, perhaps the very worst….

I have outed THREE pedophiles in my career as a journalist. That’s three more than any of my critics and a peculiar strategy for a supposed pedophile apologist.

(a) Luke Bozier, former business partner of Louise Mensch
(b) Nicholas Nyberg, anti-GamerGate activist who self-described as a pedophile and white nationalist
(c) Chris Leydon, a London photographer who has a rape trial starting March 13 thanks to my reporting.

I have never defended and would never defend child abusers, as my reporting history shows. The world is messy and complicated, and I recognize it as such, as this furore demonstrates. But that is a red line for any decent person.

I don’t know if it is primarily Never-Trumpers who are enraged by the news of the CPAC invite or Pizzagaters who are attempting to discredit another high-profile figure who aware of them, but either way, it is obvious that this is a media hit campaign similar to those we’ve seen before in #GamerGate. UPDATE: it’s apparently the latter. The Never-Trumpers are just jumping on board.

Strange, is it not, that the media is suddenly willing to pay so much attention to a single non-defense of pedophilia while it continues to ignore all of the smoke that is billowing from Hillary Clinton’s circle, including Anthony Weiner, the Podesta brothers, David Brock, and other shady figures? Remember, they created “fake news” specifically in order to avoid having to address Pizzagate.

I absolutely agree that pedophilia is evil and I will go further in saying that it has absolutely no mitigating elements whatsoever. And that is precisely why every media organization should be delving deeply into Pizzagate. Milo is no more a pedo than the crisis actor who “attacked” Comet Pizza was a genuine right-wing religious nut.

UPDATE: CPAC cuts and runs.

According to Townhall editor and frequent Fox News contributor Guy Benson, controversial Breitbart editor Milo Yiannopoulos has been disinvited from speaking at the upcoming Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in DC, a report that was quickly confirmed by the ACU Chair.

And that’s why you never, ever, rely upon moderates or conservatives. They will NEVER have your back when the Left starts shooting at you.

UPDATE: In his Periscope, Mike Cernovich predicted that they’d be putting pressure on Breitbart to eject Milo next. The irony is that some of the pressure is coming from Salon, which actually has defended pedophiles, as has National Review.

Announcing INFOGALACTIC NEWS

Team Infogalactic is very pleased to announce INFOGALACTIC NEWS, a Drudge-style news aggregation site for the center-right reader. Infogalactic News features 11 news headlines and 36 featured columnists and news sites for fast, one-stop news updates. The site is curated by 14 IG News editors who will provide twice-daily regular updates, plus fast-response special updates for breaking news. We hope you will be find it to be worthy of bookmarking and visiting regularly.

You can reach it from here using the permanent link on the right sidebar near the top, under Day Trips. See the line Infogalactic | News.

One important feature, from the Alt-Tech perspective, is that all news links to mainstream news articles will automatically redirect to archive sites, thereby ensuring that the news stories are not retroactively altered, as so often happens. This feature has not been fully implemented yet, but will be in place by the end of the week. Other incipient features include tickers for the Dow Jones Industrial Average, the EUR/USD exchange rate, and the price of gold. We also plan to allow people to select the font they prefer, and to provide links to Infogalactic pages related to the headline subjects.

The Drudge Report has traffic of 2.7 billion pageviews per month. Our goal is to hit 1 billion pageviews by the end of 2017. In this regard, it is interesting to note that in only four months, Infogalactic’s average daily traffic has already surpassed that of the 90k daily pageviews of this blog.

We have received a few requests for foreign language variants, which strikes us as a good idea, so if you’re interested, round up at least six fellow native speakers to serve as fellow news editors, then get in touch with us. Dread Ilk and VFM are vastly preferred to head up these foreign language sites.

Sidebar and site advertising is available for those who are interested, and, as always, if you’re interested in supporting these efforts to improve upon and replace the opposition media, please consider joining the Burn Unit.

Who we are not

Ross Douthat offers an older historical fiction in exchange for a newer, more obviously false one:

The problem with this rhetorical line is that it implicitly undercuts itself. If close to half of America voted for Republicans in the Obama years and support Trump today, then clearly something besides the pieties of cosmopolitan liberalism is very much a part of who we are.

This self-undermining flaw makes the trope a useful way to grasp the dilemmas facing Trump’s opponents. In seeking to reject Trump’s chauvinist vision, they end up excluding too much of what a unifying counternarrative would require.

The exclusion happens by omission, in the course of telling a story about America that’s powerful but incomplete. In this narrative, which has surged to the fore in response to Trump’s refugee and visa policies, we are a propositional nation bound together by ideas rather than any specific cultural traditions — a nation of immigrants drawn to Ellis Island, a nation of minorities claiming rights too long denied, a universal nation destined to welcome foreigners and defend liberty abroad.

This is obvious nonsense, as Douthat observes.

Given this story’s premises, saying that’s not who we are is a way of saying that all more particularist understandings of Americanism, all non-universalist forms of patriotic memory, need to be transcended. Thus our national religion isn’t anything specific, but we know it’s not-Protestant and not-Judeo-Christian. Our national culture is not-Anglo-Saxon, not-European; the prototypical American is not-white, not-male, not-heterosexual. We don’t know what the American future is, but we know it’s not-the-past.

But the real American past was particularist as well as universalist. Our founders built a new order atop specifically European intellectual traditions. Our immigrants joined a settler culture, Anglo-Saxon and Protestant, that demanded assimilation to its norms. Our crisis of the house divided was a Christian civil war. Our great national drama was a westward expansion that conquered a native population rather than coexisting with it.

Then for a variety of reasons — a necessary reckoning with white supremacism, a new and diverse wave of immigration, the pull of a more globalist ethos, the waning of institutional religion — that mid-century story stopped making as much sense. In its place emerged a left-wing narrative that stands in judgment on the racist-misogynist-robber baron past, and a mainstream liberal narrative that has room for Lin-Manuel Miranda’s Alexander Hamilton (as opposed to the slightly more Trumpish genuine article) and Emma Lazarus, but feels unsure about the rest.

Instead of presenting the truthful alternative, Douthat pushes the civic nationalist myth, complete with the 20th century “Judeo-Christian” lie, not once, not twice, but THREE times!

But meanwhile for a great many Americans the older narrative still feels like the real history. They still see themselves more as settlers than as immigrants, identifying with the Pilgrims and the Founders, with Lewis and Clark and Davy Crockett and Laura Ingalls Wilder. They still embrace the Iliadic mythos that grew up around the Civil War, prefer the melting pot to multiculturalism, assume a Judeo-Christian civil religion rather the “spiritual but not religious” version.

Trump’s ascent is, in part, an attempt to restore their story to pre-eminence. It’s a restoration attempt that can’t succeed, because the country has changed too much, and because that national narrative required correction. The myth of the “Lost Cause” had to die, the reality of racial wrongs required more acknowledgment, the Judeo-Christian center had to make room for a larger plurality of faiths.

But so far we haven’t found a way to correct the story while honoring its full sweep — including all the white-male-Protestant-European protagonists to whom, for all their sins, we owe so much of our inheritance.

Notice that Douthat retreats to an older false narrative, the 20th century civic nationalist narrative, in preference to the 21st century multicultural narrative. But both narratives are entirely and absolutely false. Both narratives are fiction.

America is not, and never was, any more “Judeo-Christian” than Israel is “Hindu-Judaic” or Japan is “Islamo-Shinto”. The melting pot is rhetoric that is every bit as false, and every bit as weaponized for the benefit of immigrants to the detriment of the native population, as the multiculturalist rhetoric.

The bottom line

The God-Emperor lays it down:

Here’s the bottom line. We’ve got to keep our country safe. You look at what’s happening. We’ve got to keep our country safe. You look at what’s happening in Germany, you look at what’s happening last night in Sweden. Sweden, who would believe this. Sweden. They took in large numbers. They’re having problems like they never thought possible. You look at what’s happening in Brussels. You look at what’s happening all over the world. Take a look at Nice. Take a look at Paris. We’ve allowed thousands and thousands of people into our country and there was no way to vet those people. There was no documentation. There was no nothing. So we’re going to keep our country safe.

And we all have heart, by the way. And what I want to do is build safe zones in Syria and other places so they can stay there and live safely until their cities and their country, that mess that I was left by Obama and everybody else — folks, we were left a mess like you wouldn’t believe, but we’re going to build safe zones.

It’s rather amusing to see the Swedes affecting to pretend not to know what Trump is talking about. First, it’s no business of theirs. Second, everyone understands that Trump isn’t only talking about large-scale terror attacks. He’s talking about everything from the fear that pervades the invaded societies of the West to the rapes and sexual assaults that are rife across Germany, Sweden, and the UK, that are taking place in every country that was foolish enough to allow alien migrants entry.

Swedish Foreign Minister Margot Wallstrom appeared to respond to Trump on Saturday by posting on Twitter an excerpt of a speech in which she said democracy and diplomacy “require us to respect science, facts and the media.”

First, the idiot woman’s statement makes no sense. There is absolutely no connection between democracy and facts; the fact is that Sweden’s failed democracy is anti-democratic.Second, respect the media? Why on Earth would anyone do that? The media narrative is failing, and failing badly. Only 13 percent trust the very fake news of CNN. Fox News, which is hardly a bastion of insight or accuracy, is the most trusted channel on television, mostly because it doesn’t attack the God-Emperor at every possible opportunity. What sort of madman would prefer the insane governance of a Merkel or a Blair to the obvious sanity of Trump, however cruel the Muslims of Londonistan might find him to be?

Ultimately, to keep the country safe, mass repatriations and a 30 to 50-year immigration pause is necessary. The God-Emperor may be too civic nationalist to see that now, but if keeping the country safe is his objective, eventually he will figure it out. Demographics is destiny.

Looking good at the DNC

It appears the Democrats are choosing between a black Muslim and a Hispanic bureaucrat to lead their futile midterm charge against the God-Emperor:

Democratic Party activists who tried unsuccessfully to sink Hillary Clinton’s nomination at last year’s convention are at it again, pestering national party members ahead of next week’s vote on a new chairman.

Party leaders are eager to incorporate the energy of progressives who buoyed Sen. Bernard Sanders’ presidential campaign last year — but less enthusiastic about the activists’ rough edges that continue to irk many Democratic National Committee members.

They say the phone calls to lobby for Rep. Keith Ellison, the choice of progressives, over Tom Perez, viewed as the establishment choice, are out of control.

Whites no longer need apply. If you’re a white American and you still support the Democratic Party, you really are stupid. But then, I suppose to call a Democrat stupid is redundant; the average Democrat IQ is now south of 100.

Why did the FBI investigate?

Andrew McCarthy of National Review observes that there appears to have been no basis for a criminal or intelligence probe of General Flynn:

Why would Flynn be the subject of an investigation by the FBI and the Justice Department?

We are told that the FBI was monitoring the phone calls of Russian ambassador Kislyak under FISA. Makes sense — he’s an overt foreign agent from a hostile government. Flynn called Kislyak on December 29, 2016. It was not a nefarious communication: Flynn was a top adviser of then-president-elect Trump, a part of the Trump transition team, and just three weeks from formally becoming the new president’s national-security adviser. His communications with Kislyak were just some of the many conversations Flynn was having with foreign officials.

No doubt the calls of other American officials who have perfectly valid reasons to call Russian diplomats have been intercepted. It is the FBI’s scrupulous practice to keep the identities of such interceptees confidential. So why single Flynn out for identification, and for investigation?

FBI agents did not need to “grill” Flynn in order to learn about the call — they had a recording of the call. They also knew there was nothing untoward about the call. We know that from the Times report — a report that suggests an unseemly conjoining of investigative power to partisan politics. The report informs us that as the FBI set its sights on Flynn, its agents were consulting with “Obama advisers.”

Interesting, no? Ever since Hillary Clinton’s loss to Donald Trump on November 8, Obama’s Democratic party had been pushing a narrative that “Putin hacked the election.” The narrative continues to have two major flaws.

First, while the Russian dictator may have preferred Trump to Clinton, there is no evidence that his Russian regime did anything to compromise the voting process. The media-Democrat complex has desperately sought to obscure this problem by emphasizing Putin’s likely role in publicizing embarrassing Democratic e-mail communications. Notwithstanding Democratic talking points, that is a far cry from “hacking” the voting process.

The second flaw is that, although Trump has made disturbingly flattering remarks about Putin, there is no evidence his campaign has given or promised Russia any actual accommodation in exchange for Putin’s favor. Democrats hope to erase this problem by finding something, anything, that could be spun as a quid pro quo. Obviously, they hoped the Flynn–Kislyak conversation would answer their prayers. No such luck. As the Times puts it: Obama officials asked the FBI if a quid pro quo had been discussed on the call, and the answer came back no, according to one of the officials, who like others asked not to be named discussing delicate communications. The topic of sanctions came up, they were told, but there was no deal. Asked not to be named discussing delicate communications.

That’s a good one. Let me translate: The officials don’t want you to know who they are because they are corrupt — (a) FISA intercepts are classified, so disclosing them to the press is a crime; (b) by revealing the Flynn–Kislyak conversation to the press, the “officials” inform the Russians that whatever countermeasures they are taking against U.S. surveillance have failed, assuring that the Russians will alter their tactics, making the job of our honorable intelligence agents more difficult; and (c) the FBI’s investigative powers are not supposed to be put in in the service of a political party’s effort to advance a partisan storyline, like “Putin hacked the election.”

So since there was no impropriety in Flynn’s call to the Russian ambassador, why did the Bureau continue investigating Flynn? Why did FBI agents interrogate him?

Curiouser and curiouser. Perhaps the Zerohedge insider is correct and the God-Emperor is simply using Flynn to smoke out the Deep State opposition. We’ll know that was the case if he eventually brings Flynn back into the administration in some capacity. It seems unlikely, but these are improbable times.

Prime pedophile

Before you dismiss the Pizzagate rumors as too incredible to be legitimate, note that police in the UK have now concluded that the Prime Minister from 1970 to 1974, the man who lied Great Britain into the European Union, was a pedophile.

The police chief investigating claims that Sir Edward Heath was a paedophile is convinced the allegations are ‘120 per cent’ genuine, The Mail on Sunday can reveal.

More than 30 people have come forward with claims of sexual abuse by the former Conservative Prime Minister, according to well-placed sources. And they are said to have given ‘strikingly similar’ accounts of incidents to Wiltshire Police – even though the individuals are not known to each other.

The Mail on Sunday has been told that Wiltshire Chief Constable Mike Veale regards the allegations as ‘totally convincing’, and plans to publish a report in June.

Detectives have established that, contrary to claims that Sir Edward could not have committed the crimes as he ‘never drove a car’ and ‘always’ had a police driver with him, he did drive – and did have a car. They have photographic evidence that shows he is a driver, and have established that he had a driving licence. He also bought a Rover 2000 after being deposed as Tory leader by Margaret Thatcher in 1975, when he was 58.

Astonishingly, Mr Veale is also understood to support claims that Sir Edward’s alleged crimes were reported to police years ago but covered up by the Establishment.

The pattern is becoming ever more clear. Not only that there is evil in high places, but even the way that evil prefers to operate. At this point, given the sheer volume of confirmed cases and the fact that both the UK Prime Minister and the US Speaker of the House, as well as lesser parliamentarians and congressmen, are known to have been sex criminals, any Establishment politician who is pushing the globalist line has to be considered at least potentially corrupted.

Note that prosecutors have been discovered sweeping, not only accusations of rape and child abuse, but actual confessions, under the rug in Cleveland:

Assistant prosecutors in Cleveland “ignored” about 70 rape and sexual assault cases involving juvenile suspects and victims and failed to determine if criminal charges should be filed, the new Cuyahoga County prosecutor said Tuesday.

Prosecutor Michael O’Malley said additional sexual assault complaints involving juveniles are expected to be found in the coming weeks as his office continues reviewing more than 1,900 cases marked inactive in a computer system used by prosecutors.

“There was a conscious decision (by prosecutors) to make some of these cases inactive,” O’Malley said. “It’s outrageous.”

Charges have been filed in about a dozen of the 70 cases thus far, O’Malley said, adding that some may not result in charges while others will be sent back to police for further investigation. The review of the inactive cases could result in hundreds of new charges being filed, he said.

The prosecutor’s office was first alerted to the problem during O’Malley’s first week in office by an advocate from the Cleveland Rape Crisis Center acting on behalf of victims’ families who asked for an update about some of the cases that had been ignored.

The review has consumed the prosecutor’s office during O’Malley’s first six weeks in office. “We’re peeling the layers of an onion,” he said. “And every day there are more revelations.”

Some of the victims in the 70 cases were as young as 3 years old. And some of the cases, which date back three years, would have been easy to prosecute because suspects confessed, O’Malley said.

I would think the prosecutors should be arrested as well. If they’re ignoring this sort of thing, what are the chances they aren’t involved in it themselves? Of course, that would mean that Ohio may loses a future congressman or two on the political fast track.

Milo at CPAC

It was announced on Saturday that Breitbart editor Milo Yiannopoulos will deliver next Saturday’s keynote address at CPAC, the Conservative Political Action Conference. Reports that he will be the keynote speaker leaked early Saturday morning on The Hollywood Reporter.

Oh. My. Goodness.

Still not tired of winning.
