A Portrait in Projection

The Kiev regime puppet is told to suggest Vladimir Putin is appearing in front of a green screen:

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky claimed that he was not certain if Vladimir Putin actually holds the office of president of Russia, or is even alive. The Kremlin dismissed the remark as an expression of Zelensky’s wishful thinking.

Russia and Putin are “a big problem” for Zelensky, so it’s natural that he “would prefer that neither Russia nor Putin existed,” Dmitry Peskov, the Kremlin spokesman told journalists on Thursday.

He was reacting to a claim that Zelensky had made earlier in the day during his virtual appearance at the Ukrainian Breakfast, an event hosted on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum in Davos by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation.

“I am not certain that the president of Russia, who makes occasional appearances on TV in front of a chroma key is actually [Putin],” the Ukrainian leader said, using the term for a background replacement technique colloquially known as ‘green screen.’

This amounts to a confession by Zelensky concerning his own virtual appearances. They always project their own actions onto others.

He Did Not Buck the Trend

Jeremy Clarkson publicly pleads guilty, hoping for absolution. Guess what happens next!

One of the strange things I’ve noticed in recent times is that whenever an MP or a well-known person is asked to apologise for something, no matter how heartfelt or profound that apology may be, it’s never enough for the people who called for it in the first place. So I’m going to try and buck the trend this morning with an apology for the things I said in a Sun column recently about Meghan Markle. I really am sorry. All the way from the balls of my feet to the follicles on my head. This is me putting my hands up. It’s a mea culpa with bells on.

Deep movie voiceover: he did not buck the trend.

Headlines:

  • The Sussexes’ pointed put down to Jeremy Clarkson as they reject his emailed apology for column saying he hated Meghan – as it emerges Amazon Prime ‘is set to drop the presenter’
  • Has ITV now axed Jeremy Clarkson? Channel says it has ‘no further commitments’ to Who Wants to be a Millionaire? and star after next series and postpones celebrity specials – as Amazon cancels press call for Clarkson’s Farm amid Meghan column backlash
  • Is this the real reason Amazon ‘axed’ Jeremy Clarkson?

It’s not as if someone hasn’t written a book about this very situation, after all.

The Review Police

Amazon is disappearing reviews of disfavored books.

Like countless others, I’ve been reviewing products that I have bought on Amazon for almost a decade. Around a year ago, I favorably reviewed a book titled SJWs Always Lie: Taking Down the Thought Police (I recommend it). Reviews are in turn reviewed by Amazon apparatchiks prior to being posted. My review of the book was taken down for going against some general standards (which in this case I was criticizing leftists who censor).

Life went on. I kept reviewing books, CDs, clothes, etc. and my reviews were always brief, like others in the site. Sometimes my reviews involving books on or by leftists were characteristically caustic, but no one minded.

Except a month ago, with my review of American Injustice (an extended review was accepted here, in The Iconoclast). It was not accepted for the usual vague reasons (“violates our Community Guidelines”). I could appeal, which I did.

Whereupon all of my reviews were taken down. My reviews on electronics, on t-shirts, on shoes, on books, on games, on films—all taken down. Apparently, the leftist censor thought that my reviews of Jorge Bolet. Rediscovered Liszt Recital, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil, The Moon Is a Harsh Mistress, All Creatures Great and Small, Batman Forever, The Confessions of St. Augustine, Duck Tales Vol.1, Gandhi: An Autobiography, Blue Jasmine, World War Z, 20 Million Miles to Earth, Fifty Shades of Grey, The Essential Artie Shaw, Jimmy Neutron- The Best of Season 2, Darwin’s Blind Spot: Evolution Beyond Natural Selection, The Biosphere, Lysenko’s Ghost: Epigenetics and Russia, Littleboutique Fashion Magazine Show Stiletto Sandals Nigh Club Strap Pumps, Basic Questions in Paleontology, The 39 Steps, The mosquito hypothetically considered as an agent in the transmission of yellow fever poison, 1881, 1177 B.C.: The Year Civilization Collapsed, The Sex Lives of Cannibals, and many, many, many more were worthy of censorship.

Gone. All gone.

I appealed, of course, several times. Ignored each time.

I’m not terribly surprised. I think this began around the middle of 2021, as you can see that there are relatively few reviews of SJWAL or A THRONE OF BONES that have been published in the last two years. I haven’t paid any attention to Amazon for a while, since I’ve been focused on other projects for most of that time, but it appears that in the aftermath of decimating the ebook market and centralizing its control of it through Kindle Unlimited, Amazon has now moved on to actively managing what books its customers are permitted to read or not by filtering its reviewers.

There are 884 reviews of SJWAL, but the most recent is dated October 18, 2021. There are 443 reviews of ATOB, and the most recent is September 19, 2022.

UPDATE: Amazon has deleted 11 ATOB reviews since this post, leaving 432.

Arkhaven is Inevitable

Seriously, there is just no other conclusion suggested by the evidence.

Well that happened.

What do I even say to this?

Yes, the Joker is pregnant… As stupid as the subject matter is, the artwork is so much worse.

What. The. Actual…

You know, I really thought DC was scraping rock bottom with those two notorious pages of Batgirl commiserating with a young man in a dress over his gender being correctly identified by a doctor. I’ve now realized that the bottom for DC and Marvel probably isn’t even in sight yet.

Amazon Doubles Down

It appears that Amazon Studios has decided that the fundamental problem underlying the comprehensive failure of Dem Rangz o’ Powah was an insufficiency of strong woman power storytelling.

The Lord Of The Rings fans got a glimpse of what to expect with the upcoming second season of the prequel series The Rings Of Power on Wednesday. Amazon Studios announced that the next season will feature a striking all-female directing team, according to Deadline. Among the women helming the season will be Charlotte Brändström, who previously directed two episodes of the fantasy show’s debut season.

Hamri, who hails from Morocco, got her start directing music videos for Mariah Carey, Destiny’s Child and Prince, among others, before directing the Sanaa Lathan film Something New in 2006. She later directed The Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants 2 and Just Wright, but she has mostly worked in television in recent years, including producing and directing for another Amazon fantasy series, The Wheel Of Time.

Hooper has worked in British television for decades, though she recently scored high-profile directing gigs on episodes of The Sandman and The Witcher.

After all, who better to visually interpret the vision of a white male Oxford don than a bunch of women who have failed, failed, and failed again? You just know the great debate in the writer’s room is if it’s enough to hint that Galadrial just might be attracted to another woman or if they should throw caution to the winds, shave her head, and have her form a lifelong romantic attachment to a female orc.

I expect that the great majority of Tolkien fans who successfully ignored the first season will ignore the second one even harder.

Twitter Confessions

Elon Musk admits what we’ve known since 2017:

True, some accounts on the right were suspended even when Twitter internally acknowledged that no rules were broken

@elonmusk, 9 Dec 2022

Yes, I know. I never broke any of the Twitter rules. And yet, I’m still permanently suspended, without ever having a single violation of the rules cited.

Lesson: never trust a self-appointed Devil’s Champion.

Crucifixion Denial

Elon Musk: Denying a violent event, such as Sandy Hook, the Holocaust, and the September 11th attacks.

Ian Miles Chang: Twitter now has a new policy against Holocaust denial, 9/11 denial, or Sandy Hook denial. Thanks for adding this, @elonmusk

The Crucifixion of Jesus Christ of Nazareth was indubitably a violent historical event. Should not its denial be similarly banned? Does this not mean Twitter has adopted an official Crucifixion Denial policy?

Is it Time for Twitter to Go?

Never forget, the Jews never did nothing to nobody, they have absolutely no power or influence in the United States or anywhere else, they’re just as good Christians as any other church-going American, and anyone who is less than entirely enthusiastic about not living under their totally benign and selfless not-influence is full of hate for absolutely no reason whatsoever.

It’s ironic, Jonathan, but I suspect more than a few irrational, hate-filled Americans are thinking exactly the same thing about you and your defamation league. For absolutely no reason at all.
