Cleaning house at the USPS

I’m sure this “sweeping overhaul of the agency” has nothing with Democrats’ plans to subvert the election through mail fraud:

Government watchdogs, Democratic lawmakers, and pro-democracy advocates declared it a “Friday Night Massacre” for the U.S. Postal Service after news broke in a classic end-of-the-week dump that Louis DeJoy—a major GOP donor to President Donald Trump and the recently appointed Postmaster General—had issued a sweeping overhaul of the agency, including the ouster of top executives from key posts and the reshuffling of more than two dozen other officials and operational managers.

The Trumpslide beckons.

No one wants to go down with Creepy Joe

Joe Biden is having trouble finding anyone who wants to appear on the Democratic presidential ticket with him. AC chronicles the obvious problems:

Whitmer met with Biden as he nears VP decision. Three things are obvious to all of them. One, he will never win. Two he is up to his ass in criminality over Ukraine. And three, there is a good chance once Trump wins, and Biden is taken down hard, there will be child molestation shit tagged onto his legacy. So the rumors of people turning him down when asked may very well be right, and he cannot find someone willing to sign on to be his VP. If he cannot find a VP, either it is a show designed to make Michelle come out and sign on, out of a sense of duty, before he dies of a stroke and she slides into the Presidential candidacy as part of a show to justify the fraudulently close, or even Democrat-victory results, or it isn’t a show, and this will just be a standard, full on Trumpslide.

It’s not a show. The 2020 Democratic presidential candidate was always going to be a sacrificial lamb, which is the only reason why the Color Party was willing to run a white candidate. They don’t want to permit any of their Color Revolutionaries to go down with the decrepit old guard.

No backsies

The God-Emperor’s executive orders cannot be reversed by future presidents:

The President’s twitter is hilarious today, because most of the tweets point out his taking over implementing Coronavirus relief by Executive Order from Twitter would have been unconstitutional, but for the Robert’s ruling recently on DACA, which held Obama could pass an EO, and it could not be reversed by a subsequent President, just like a law. So now Trump has accidentally been coronated King of America, and he appears set to abuse the privileged for the good of Americans, until he forces the Supreme Court to rectify their own bad ruling. And in the interim, Democrats are just completely neutered. Of course, if we get a Democrat President, say good bye to any vestige of America.

Great. So let’s see an executive order banning all post-1965 immigrants and their descendants from voting. That would be a nice start to get the American Inquisition rolling.

Interesting….

The God-Emperor seems to be strangely disinterested in the campaign trail:

Remarks made by President Trump during a speech have prompted speculation after he referred to having a lot of rich enemies and told the audience, “This may be the last time you’ll see me for a while.”

“So I have a lot of enemies out there. This may be the last time you’ll see me for a while. A lot of very, very rich enemies, but they are not happy with what I’m doing,” said Trump. “But I figure we have one chance to do it, and no other President is going to do what I do. No other President would do a favored nations, a rebate, a buy from other nations at much less cost. Nobody. And there are a lot of unhappy people, and they’re very rich people, and they’re very unhappy,” he added.

There are also hints and indications that something long-anticipated might be in the air. Stay tuned.

This won’t age well

The Economist makes its predictions for November:

Chance of winning the electoral college:
Biden 91{4e01b0bc4ab012654d0c5016d8cbf558644ab2e53259aa2c40b66b3b20e8967d}
Trump 9{4e01b0bc4ab012654d0c5016d8cbf558644ab2e53259aa2c40b66b3b20e8967d}

Chance of winning the most votes:
Biden 98{4e01b0bc4ab012654d0c5016d8cbf558644ab2e53259aa2c40b66b3b20e8967d}
Trump 2{4e01b0bc4ab012654d0c5016d8cbf558644ab2e53259aa2c40b66b3b20e8967d}

Estimated electoral college votes:
Biden 357
Trump 181

Just wanted to make sure we preserved it for the record.

Salvaging Creepy Joe

The New York Times is trying to save Joe Biden from being exposed as a dementia-addled figurehead on prime time in front of the entire electorate by the God-Emperor:

Nervous managers of the scheduled 2020 presidential debates are shuffling the logistics and locations to deal with the threat of the coronavirus. But here’s a better idea: Scrap them altogether. And not for health reasons.

The debates have never made sense as a test for presidential leadership. In fact, one could argue that they reward precisely the opposite of what we want in a president. When we were serious about the presidency, we wanted intelligence, thoughtfulness, knowledge, empathy and, to be sure, likability. It should also go without saying, dignity.

Yet the debates play an outsize role in campaigns and weigh more heavily on the verdict than their true value deserves.

This, by the way, isn’t written out of any concern that Donald Trump will prevail over Joe Biden in the debates; Mr. Biden has done just fine in a long string of such contests. The point is that “winning” a debate, however assessed, should be irrelevant, as are the debates themselves.

Sure it isn’t….

The lede, buried

I’m always interested in wargames, but this one by the DNC strategists is particularly intriguing in light of the current polls:

Democrats are contemplating secession and potential civil war as they game out possible scenarios for a closely contested election, according to a report by Ben Smith in a New York Times column Sunday.

The bulk of Smith’s column is devoted to the question of how the media will handle Election Night coverage, given that the result may not be known for weeks. Vote-by-mail, which many states have only recently adopted — ostensibly, to prevent the spread of coronavirus in polling places — could lead to an uncertain result.

However, buried near the end of Smith’s column is a report that Democrats have participated in a “war game” in which they considered several possible outcomes of the election.

In one scenario, John Podesta — the former chair of Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, and a leading figure in party circles — played former Vice President Joe Biden, and refused to concede the election.

The result: the threat of secession by the entire West Coast, followed by the possible intervention of the U.S. armed forces.

Ask yourself this: why are Democrats wargaming the loss of the election if Creepy Joe is genuinely ahead in the polls by seven points?

We’ll just skip over the fact that most of the country would celebrate the secession of the entire West Coast. Throw in New York City and we’d happily pay them to leave.

Setting them up

I don’t know exactly what he has in mind here, but it should turn out to be more than a little entertaining:

With Universal Mail-In Voting (not Absentee Voting, which is good), 2020 will be the most INACCURATE & FRAUDULENT Election in history. It will be a great embarrassment to the USA. Delay the Election until people can properly, securely and safely vote???
– Donald J. Trump

I’ll be very surprised if he doesn’t turn out to have had something up his sleeve this entire time. It’s not like Creepy Joe is going to beat him anyhow. The polls are totally meaningless at this point. I can still remember when Dukakis was supposedly leading Bush, 55-38, on July 26, 1988, prior to losing 53.4 to 45.6. That was a 24.8-point change between the end of July and the beginning of November.

Democrat Joe Biden maintains a seven point national lead over President Donald Trump among registered voters for the November 2020 election, 48 percent to 41 percent.

Note that Biden’s putative lead is ten points less than Dukakis’s nominal 17-point lead. So, we’re still looking at a Trumpslide, perhaps even a historic one.

Republican National Convention canceled

It isn’t necessary, after all, since everyone knows who the nominee will be:

President Donald Trump announced Thursday he was scrapping the Republican nominating convention in Florida as the number of coronavirus cases in the United States topped four million.

Trump said he was cancelling next month’s event in Jacksonville because it was not the right time to do a “big, crowded convention.”

“The timing for this event is not right, it’s just not right with what’s happened recently,” he said at a White House news conference.

A wise and sensible move. Now do the general election….

Is he even eligible?

I had no idea Javier Bardem was eligible for the U.S. vice-presidency, let alone running for the office. But he was great in Skyfall, so he has that going for him.
