They’ve been busy

It’s great to see how David Lambert and Alexandra Hollingshead, among others, have been so totally absorbed with reading all my books over the holidays….

It’s a good thing Goodreads banned the Rabid Puppies group or people might engage in an organized effort to attack authors by lowering their ratings!

This is why we need to establish non-converged cultural institutions and ruthlessly work to keep the SJWs out of them. SJWs will always stack the deck and do their very best to use whatever power they can obtain, be it petty or significant, in the interest of forcing social justice on society. And anyone who challenges their Narrative will not only be attacked, but silenced, and stripped of their ability to defend themselves or respond in kind, to the extent that the SJWs are able to do that.

“Society should treat all equally well who have deserved equally well of it, that is, who have deserved equally well absolutely. This is the highest abstract standard of social and distributive justice; towards which all institutions, and the efforts of all virtuous citizens should be made in the utmost degree to converge.”
 —John Stuart Mill, Utilitarianism, 1861

Fortunately, efforts on several fronts are already underway, and your help will be needed on some of them. We’ll be having the January Brainstorm as soon as I get a time and date from the panelist I’ve selected, and we’ll be discussing the current state of the project I’ve chosen as my top priority as well as the panelist’s upcoming project.

It’s going to be short notice, so be prepared for that.

UPDATE: By the way, note that for all their posturing, SJWs clearly hate it when you call out their reviews for the ideological trash that they are.

I do suspect you’re a fake profile, much like some of the other lice which crawled all over my reviews of Day’s stuff.

Always hit back twice as hard. Remember, they are fragile creatures of little accomplishment; in many cases these attack “reviews” are their only sources of pride.

Code of Merit

Rosarior has made a solid attempt at providing an alternative to the Codes of Conduct that SJWs are successfully using in their attempt to enter and converge many open source software projects. It’s called the Code of Merit.

A meritocratic code of conduct devoid of social politics.

This Code of Merit should not be necessary. The fact that it is necessary means there is something wrong with the solutions the software industry is trying. They should recognize that fact and not insist that their solution is the only solution.

  1.     Software is like nature: it evolves, so the best implementation must prevail.
  2.     You will contribute, you will learn, and mistakes are allowed.
  3.     Mistakes are not final and everybody has a second chance.
  4.     Don’t expect others to do your work or help you with your work forever.
  5.     Harassment as defined by law will not be allowed. Questioning is not harassment. Repeated questioning after an individual has stated their desire for disengagement is harassment.
  6.     Censorship will not be permitted. Seeking to silence an individual voicing constructive opinions will not be allowed. Silencing vitriol is not censorship.
  7.     This is a space for technical prowess; world politics have no place here.
  8.     Everything that makes a person an individual, including but not limited to body, sex, sexual preference, race, language, religion, nationality, or political preferences are irrelevant in the scope of a technical project.
  9.     Everybody is different, so differences will not be mentioned by anyone, even by the individual suffering/experiencing/having/enjoying them. We are all individuals seeking the common goal of improving ourselves and improving our collective project.
  10.     Everybody has the same rights and the same opportunities to seek any challenge they want. The chance to screw up will not be denied to anybody.
  11.     There is no room for ambiguity: if an individual is ambiguous regarding a statement it is up to the individual to provide more context. Ambiguity will be met with questioning; further ambiguity will be met with silence.
  12.     If a discussion arises that cannot be solved in the space of the project, it will be discussed in a separate space. Disruption of the project will not be allowed.
  13.     This Code of Merit does not take precedence over governing law.

It’s a good start, and I certainly support the idea, but I find it both defensive and excessively explanatory. I also find that it leaves a few small cracks that SJWs will, as is their wont, ruthlessly attempt to exploit.

Here is a first pass at a weaponized version that I believe will be more effective in both rooting out and deterring SJW entryists.

OSS Code of Merit

Everyone who joins this project agrees to abide by this meritocratic code in the interest of successfully reaching the objectives of this project.

  1. No objectives beyond the stated objectives of this project are relevant to the project. Social Justice Warriors are not permitted to join this project in any capacity.
  2. Any attempt to suggest, propose, or otherwise advocate for an alternate Code of Conduct or to advance social justice ideals will result in immediate expulsion from the project.
  3. Your value to the project will be solely determined by your direct contributions to the project in the objective form of code, documentation, fundraising, and testing.
  4. No member of the project who has not contributed [a specified amount of code] is permitted to accept any board position, administrative position, or management-related role in the project.
  5. You will do your own work. Any attempt to pass off the work of others as your own will result in immediate expulsion from the project.
  6. Individual characteristics related to body, sex, sexual preference, race, language, religion, and nationality
are irrelevant and will not be taken into account concerning your value to the project.
  7. If a discussion arises that cannot be solved in the space of the
project, it will be discussed in a separate space. Disruption of the
    project will not be allowed.
  8. The director of the project is king, emperor, and god of the project. There are no limitations on his ability to make decisions and discipline members of the project. Cross him at risk of expulsion from the project.
  9. All present and future advisory boards will answer to the director of the project. The director can disband any and all boards and committees at will and at his sole discretion.
  10. The director of the project is X. The vice-director is Y. If the director is incapacitated or otherwise unable to perform his duties, Y will assume the director’s role for three months and will appoint a substitute vice-director. If the director is still unable to perform his duties after three months, Y will become the director of the project and the substitute vice-director will become the vice-director.
  11. If you do not approve of the direction or the objectives of the project, then leave the project.

One thing I’ve noticed is that SJWs always attempt to minimize the role of whoever started the project and made it successful, ergo shutting down any possibility of that by protecting the status of the project director and giving him the unrestricted ability to boot any member seeking to effect change should be the first priority of any project that wishes to remain productive and unconverged.

    Mailvox: cold consolation

This one is for all the Minnesotans:

Ole and Sven die in a snowmobiling accident, drunker than skunks, and go
    to Hell.

The Devil observes that they are really enjoying themselves. He says to them “Doesn’t the heat and smoke bother you?

Ole replies, “Vell, ya know, ve’re from nordern Minnesnoowta, da land of
snow an ice, an ve’re yust happy fer a chance at varm up a little bit,
    ya know.”

The devil decides that these two aren’t miserable enough and turns up
the heat even more. When he returns to the room of the two guys from
Minnesota , the devil finds them in light jackets and hats, grilling walleye and drinking beer.

The devil is astonished and exclaims, “Everyone down here is in abject
misery, and you two seem to be enjoying yourselves?”

Sven replies, “Vell, ya know, ve don’t git too much varm veather up dere
at da Falls, so ve’ve yust got at haff a fish fry vhen da veather’s dis
    nice.”

The devil is absolutely furious. He can hardly see straight. Finally he
comes up with the answer. The two guys love the heat because they have
been cold all their lives. The devil decides to turn all the heat off in
Hell. The next morning, the temperature is 60 below zero, icicles are
hanging everywhere, and people are shivering so bad that they are unable
to wail, moan or gnash their teeth.

The devil smiles and heads for the room with Ole and Sven. He gets there
and finds them back in their parkas, bomber hats, and mittens. They are
jumping up and down, cheering, yelling and screaming like mad men.

The devil is dumbfounded, “I don’t understand; when I turn up the heat,
you’re happy. Now its freezing cold and you’re still happy. What is
    wrong with you two?”

They both look at the devil in surprise and say, “Vell, don’t ya know,
If hell iss froze over, dat must mean da Vikings von da Super Bowl.”

It occurs to me that one of the many casualties of the cultural rape of the West is Sven and Ole jokes. Sans a familiarity with Christian culture, there is no joke there.

    Reverify Milo!

This aggression shall not stand! Sign the petition and help right this social media injustice!

On Friday 8 January 2016, Twitter unverified the account of Breitbart technology editor Milo Yiannopoulos, effectively declaring war on libertarian and millennial voices by punishing the outspoken commentator for his views. This comes despite CEO Jack Dorsey declaring that Twitter “stands for freedom of expression” just a few months ago.

The Obama Administration should issue a strong statement of support for freedom of speech. Give Milo back his badge! #JeSuisMilo

Seriously, how funny would it be to see the Obama administration lobbying Twitter to reverify Milo.

    Expanding the audio front

A History of Strategy: From Sun Tzu to William S. Lind Audible – Unabridged. Martin van Creveld (Author), Jon Mollison (Narrator).

There are few better suited to write the history of strategy and
military thought than Dr. Martin van Creveld, who has been a significant
contributor to the literature of war. A professor emeritus at the
Hebrew University, Jerusalem, Dr. van Creveld is one of the world’s
leading writers on military history and strategy, with a special
interest in the future of war. He is fluent in Hebrew, German, Dutch,
and English and has authored more than 20 books, including the
influential Technology and War: 2000 BC to the Present (1988), The Transformation of War (1991), and The Culture of War
(2010). He is known for his development of the concept of
“nontrinitarian” warfare as well as contributing two books to the 4GW
    canon.

Featuring a foreword by Dr. Jerrry Pournelle, A History of Strategy: From Sun Tzu to William S. Lind
begins with the Chinese military literature, then reviews the Greek,
Roman, and Byzantine works before proceeding to the Middle Ages. From
Machiavelli and Montecuccoli to Guibert and Frederick the Great, van
Creveld chronicles the gradual transition from medieval to Napoleonic
warfare and onward into the nuclear age and the rise of ISIS.

We’re very pleased to announce our second audio book, A History of Strategy: From Sun Tzu to William S. Lind, and to be able to let you know that many more are on the way, including Awake in the Night Land, SJWs Always Lie, and There Will Be War Vol. X. And if you haven’t heard it yet, you’ll likely want to check out the audio sample of Cuckservative: How “Conservatives” Betrayed America as well.

Our goal is to have all Castalia House books available in audio by the end of 2016. I know most of the readers of this text-heavy blog prefer ebooks to audio, but if you’ve got friends who prefer the latter, do us a favor and let them know about our audiobook line.

    Another coverup in Sweden

A mass sexual assault by immigrants similar to the one in Cologne took place in Stockholm at a concert this summer, but it was covered up by the Swedish police and media:

The Cologne sex assault on New Year’s Eve, where groups of Arab and North African men groped more than a hundred German women, has shocked Europe this last week. But a very similar incident, with a large number of perpetrators and victims, took place in the Swedish capital last summer. That incident however was silenced by large Swedish newspapers and media companies, despite repeated attempts from police officers to contact journalists. This is how leading Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter tried to cover up a politically inconvenient sex assault story.

Nyheter Idag is now able to disclose in detail how major Swedish newspaper Dagens Nyheter deliberately covered up stories about widespread sexual abuse in central Stockholm in connection with a concert in the Kungsträdgården public square this August. “The mere suspicion that the abuse has been considered as difficult to describe involves a betrayal of the victims”,the newspaper writes about the event, almost six months later.

On Saturday August 15th, the nationally acclaimed and outspoken feminist artist Zara Larsson headlined the youth festival ‘We Are Sthlm” with a crowded concert in Kungsträdgården in central Stockholm. Thousands of young people were in attendance to take part in the event during the last summer nights of the year.

But for an unknown number of young girls the festival soon became a nightmare. Hordes of young men pressed against young girls, fondled and tried to cop a feel over and under skirts, pants and shirts. There were severe sexual assaults happening right in front of the stage, where artists such as Larsson and rapper OIAM performed.

During a single night police and security guards had to intervene against around 90 younger males, but even adult men took part in the abuse, says an eye witness to Nyheter Idag. The eye witness has professional experience from working at the Stockholm Police Department as a psychologist.

The police officer tried to contact Dagens Nyheter several times: “They never called again”

The psychologist who knew of what had happened in Kungsträdgården contacted journalist Hanne Kjöller at Dagens Nyheter, by, among other things, e-mail on August 17. The psychologist says he specifically turned to Kjöller because he knew that she had previously written about controversial topics.

“She was very interested and listened until I told her that all the boys and men that were apprehended were young asylants (unaccompanied is the terminology used by Swedish authorities) from Afghanistan and Syria. I sensed that she changed the tone (of her voice).

This is a good example of why you cannot believe ANYTHING that the mainstream media is reporting out of Europe, whether it is about Merkel’s continued “popularity” or the way in which the populations are reacting to the government-enabled invasions of third-world savages.

The European media is only reporting what it cannot cover up. For example, there is massive resistance to the immivasion across Western Europe, far more than in the USA, as thousands of refugee centers were burned or otherwise attacked across the continent in 2015, but the only images that are shown on the media are idiotic virtue-signalers holding welcome signs.

The civil war is already being fought, it simply hasn’t turned violent yet. Once the police turn on the governments, or the government uses lethal violence on an anti-invasion activist, or a politician is assassinated, the situation is going to change very rapidly. For better or for worse, I do not know, but to describe the situation as “unstable” would be putting it mildly. The original Saxon has begun to hate, he simply has not yet begun to act.

As for the Scandinavians, I cannot say, but as I mentioned before, the Vikings would be spinning in their graves at the cowardly acquiescence of their descendants if they had any.

Allow me to revise my prediction of a few years ago. In light of the scale of the sexual assaults on young European women in England, Sweden, and Germany, it is apparent that Anders Breivik will not be regarded as a Norwegian hero in the future, but as a European hero.

“The more of this that people in authority over there do, the more this
will end in tears. You can’t last long as an elite at war with your own
people.  At some point people have had enough and it becomes “Aristo,
    aristo a la lanterne.””

    – Sarah Hoyt

No one will ever be this cool

88-year-old Minnesota Vikings head coach Bud Grant took the field.

    In a short-sleeved polo.

    In -9 degree weather.

This is still only my second favorite Bud Grant story. The best was when a reporter asked him what he thought about how things were different for coaches now, how they get paid a lot more money, and have more endorsement opportunities.

When the reporter asked if Bud thought he would have liked to have had a Bud Grant cologne, Bud looked at him in total disbelief, as if he was trying to decide between kicking the guy off of his porch or shooting him.

    NFC Wildcard

I feel surprisingly relaxed going into the Seattle game. Whatever happens, I’m entirely confident that the Vikings defense isn’t going to lay down like it did when its three best starters were out, and it’s going to be fun to watch one last game that will be like they were in the days when I went to games at the Old Met. The one I remember most was a Monday Night Football game when we beat the Steelers, 17-6. That would have been 1976, and although it was early October, I remember it being a pretty cold night. But I was happy: vengeance for Super Bowl IX!

Still, as much as I hate to admit it, the Vikings probably did the right thing by going with the covered stadium. It’s so cold that tickets are going for as little as $45; people are a lot less willing to sit out in the freezing cold for four hours than they were back in the 1970s. Let’s face it, the value proposition has changed over time. Sitting at home watching a 12-inch black-and-white screen is very different than kicking back and taking in the game with a massive HD widescreen. And can be damnably cold in Minnesota in January.

Needless to say, my brother and a few of my friends are there; they opened TCF with Favre’s last game and they’re closing it today. Skol Vikings!

In the other game, I would be surprised if Washington has any real trouble with Green Bay. I thought the Redskins were crazy when they drafted both RGIII and Cousins in the same draft, but it is a QB-driven league, and someone in the Washington front office clearly recognized that two bites at the apple are better than one. And even if a player looks like the real deal in his rookie year, that’s not necessarily the case.

In other NFC news, Cam Newton’s description of the Carolina huddle cracked me up:

C Ryan Kalil – “He’s like the dictator.”

LG Andrew Norwell – “He’s the yeller.”

RG Trai Turner – “He’s the finisher.”

RT Mike Remmers – “He’s the panicker of the huddle.”

LT Michael Oher – “He’s the grandfather of the huddle. He’s a Scrooge. He doesn’t want anybody to play around, no matter what the score is.”

FB Mike Tolbert – “He’ll say a corny joke every now and then, and he has like a 20 to 30 percent chance of making people laugh. But it’s just the thought that counts.”

TE Greg Olsen – “He’s the overseer. He listens to the plays and he’s like, ‘No, no, no, that’s not right. It can’t be even, it has to be odd. I can’t zoom, I can’t motion that way because – no Cam, that’s not right.’”

WR Devin Funchess – “Has no clue what the hell’s going on.”

WR Philly Brown – “He’s cool.”

WR Ted Ginn Jr. – “He’s always exhausted.”

WR Jerricho Cotchery – “He’s just the meditator. The Jerricho that you see scoring the touchdowns is going to be the same Jerricho that you see pregame.”

Of course poor Ginn is always exhausted. They send him on fly patterns as a decoy for everything from an off-tackle dive to a halfback screen pass.

UPDATE: Seattle 10, Minnesota 9. Unbelievable. Zimmer coached a fantastic game and you could even say that the Vikings deserved the victory, but you simply can’t expect to win if your kicker is going to choke on a 27-yard field goal.

    Homework assignment #1

At the end of the first session of Dev Game, I promised those attendees who were interested the chance to participate in a real game development exercise. Those from the blog knew what game I was referring to; it occurred to me that this was a very good opportunity to not only add another few hundred questions to the game, but let them experience the development process in action.

The attendees appeared to find it useful. One wrote:

I did find the first session quite informative and it ignited my DRIVE to learn more and get involved in the game industry, starting with our first homework assignment. I am looking forward to the next session.

You don’t have to be a Dev Game attendee to participate in this exercise, of course. It’s not only educational, it’s rather fun to research new games and come up with questions for them. And the game itself is turning out to be a history lesson of sorts; I can even envision it potentially becoming an edutainment tool because you end up learning more, more rapidly, than I had imagined when I designed it.

    Instructions:

    • Select a game that is NOT on the list of games below.
    • If you know the game well, great. If not well enough, download it, emulate it, buy it, research it, and play it.
    • Write a list of 10 trivia questions about the game: four Easy, three Medium, two Hard, one Expert. Easy questions should be totally obvious;
anyone who has played the game should be able to get them right. Don’t
be clever, as we don’t want trick questions.
    • Write down both the fill-in-the-blank answer and four multiple choice answers for each question. The fill-in-the-blank answer must be one of the multiple choice answers, the other three should be credible, but incorrect answers.
    • Arrange the questions and answers in a spreadsheet (.xls or .ods format) in the following format. Each set of brackets represents a separate spreadsheet cell. [game][difficulty][question number][question][answer][multiple choice options][correct multiple choice answer][your name]. Be sure to separate the multiple choice options by semicolons with no spaces after them.

    For example:

[Sid Meier’s Alpha Centauri][easy][1][On which planet is the game set?][Chiron][1=Hermes;2=Vesta;3=Chiron;4=Eunomia][3][Jason]

[Ms. Pac-Man][easy][2][What is the fruit on the first board?][Cherry][1=cherry;2=strawberry;3=peach;4=banana][1][Vox Day]

    • Check to make sure you’ve got the formatting correct. Only correctly formatted submissions will be credited.
    • Email the spreadsheet to me.

Below is a list of the games for which we already have questions. We particularly need games for the following categories.

1980/90 console sims, 1980/1990 PC sims, 1990/2000/2010 arcade action,
    2000/10 console sim, 2000/10 mobile/online strategy, 1980/2000/2010

    “Angela Merkel must go”

Even the New York Times cuckservatives are starting to echo the Alt Right now:

The conservatives have made important points about the difficulty of assimilation, the threat of radicalization, and the likelihood of Paris-style and Cologne-style violence in European cities. But they have also trafficked in more apocalyptic predictions — fears of a “Eurabia,” of mass Islamification — that were somewhat harder to credit. Until recently, Europe’s assimilation challenge looked unpleasant but not insurmountable, and the likelihood of Yugoslavian-style balkanization relatively remote….

If you believe that an aging, secularized, heretofore-mostly-homogeneous society is likely to peacefully absorb a migration of that size and scale of cultural difference, then you have a bright future as a spokesman for the current German government.

You’re also a fool. Such a transformation promises increasing polarization among natives and new arrivals alike. It threatens not just a spike in terrorism but a rebirth of 1930s-style political violence. The still-imaginary France Michel Houellebecq conjured up in his novel “Submission,” in which nativists and Islamists brawl in the streets, would have a very good chance of being realized in the German future.

This need not happen. But prudence requires doing everything possible to prevent it. That means closing Germany’s borders to new arrivals for the time being. It means beginning an orderly deportation process for able-bodied young men. It means giving up the fond illusion that Germany’s past sins can be absolved with a reckless humanitarianism in the present.

It means that Angela Merkel must go — so that her country, and the continent it bestrides, can avoid paying too high a price for her high-minded folly.

Eurabia will never happen. This isn’t even the third-most-serious Islamic invasion of Europe. Just remember that if the repatriations are delayed too long, and “kill them all” eventually becomes public policy, it was the multiculturalists and immigrationists who are to blame. Not the ultranationalists. They didn’t want their future “victims” there in the first place.

This is a continent-wide war, and it’s not going to take 700 years for Europe to rid itself of the invaders this time. Unlike the United States, partition isn’t an option.
