Video review of SJWAL

“It’s the first time in my life I’ve ever read an entire book from cover to cover in one sitting…. it was that fantastic!”

In addition to the book, you may want to contemplate triggering an SJW with the SJWAL shirts. We’ve got a black one now, for the subtle “wait, what’s up with that” triggering, and the purple one for the direct splodey-head, how-dare-you effect.

Libertarian vs Alt-Right

Jeffrey Tucker highlights the differences:

To the cheers of alt-righters everywhere, those angry lords of the green frog meme who hurl edgy un-PC insults at everyone to their left, the Democratic nominee has put them on the map at long last. Specifically, she accused Donald Trump of encouraging and giving voice to their dark and dangerous worldview.

Let’s leave aside the question of whether we are talking about an emergent brown-shirted takeover of American political culture, or perhaps merely a few thousand sock-puppet social media accounts adept at mischievous trolling on Twitter. The key issue is that more than a few alt-rightists claim some relationship to libertarianism, at least at their intellectual dawning until they begin to shed their libertarianism later on.

What are the differences in outlook between alt-right ideology and libertarianism?

  1. The Driving Force of History
  2. Harmony vs. Conflict
  3. Designed vs. Spontaneous Order
  4. Trade and Migration
  5. Emancipation and Progress

It’s a pretty good comparison, although not entirely accurate about the Alt-Right and understandably biased towards libertarianism. Regardless, it serves as an effective delineator that suffices to explain why I, once one of the top 25 libertarians on the Internet, can no longer reasonably be described as a libertarian, Christian, nationalist, or otherwise.

It’s not that I am opposed to libertarian ideals. Quite to the contrary, I cherish them as deeply as I ever did. It is merely that events, and a deeper understanding of history, have caused me to conclude that libertarian ideals are as ultimately utopian and irrelevant as communist ideals, progressive ideals, and conservative ideals.

I was always a minarchist libertarian; I embraced libertarianism out of pessimism towards the government. But libertarianism has turned out to be nearly as economically ignorant as Marxism, and nearly as dangerous as Leninism, Nazism, or Maoism. Mass immigration, of the sort considerably more limited than that envisioned by the purist libertarians who correctly subscribe to open borders, has proven to be at least potentially as disastrous as any of those three historically infamous ideologies. Just how bad, we don’t know yet, because the scenario is still in the process of playing itself out.

The key difference between the Alt-Right and libertarianism is that libertarianism insists on the existence of Rational Man. The Alt-Right observes, to the contrary, that Man is an irrational, rationalizing creature. Where you fall on that question alone will logically dictate whether you ultimately side with the libertarians or the Alt-Right, if your ideals incline towards the libertarian.

Tucker writes: This similarity is historically contingent and largely superficial given the vast differences that separate the two worldviews. Does society contain within itself the capacity for self management or not? That is the question.

To which the Alt-Right responds: Define society.

That being said, one intellectual subset of the Alt-Right could well be described as National Libertarianism, because, after all, once the nation has been sufficiently established and defended, it still has to decide how it will henceforth live.

GamerGhazi can’t cope

The ride never ends. Nor does the winning:

I’m sure many of you can relate to this, but since the double whammy of Brexit and Trump, I’m feeling extremely lost and upset and having some trouble coping with the new reality. I’ve been a long time lurker here and since this has always seemed like a supportive community, I thought I’d reach out for some advice.

I live in the stereotypical liberal bubble in a left-liberal city. I don’t have any friends or family or work colleagues who would have supported Trump, so I have struggled to understand how this has happened, or how ideas that have been our shared values since WWII have been shed in favour of what appears to me to be a resurgence of ethno-nationalistic fascism. That’s not to say I haven’t read widely on the subject, and at least intellectually now I can at least explain what has happened without believing that America and Britain have both gone through a massive swing towards racism, nativism, misogyny and hate, although I still believe that is part of the answer.

I’m terrified for for the state of the world. I’m afraid that the US will end up like Putin’s Russia, with 85% approval ratings, a watertight internal propaganda system and spiralling human rights abuses. I’m afraid that with America abandoning its (admittedly flawed in practice) ideals of spreading democracy and human rights across the world, that the sum total of human suffering will increase drastically. Already Trump is suspected to drop all talk of human rights from negotiations with China, limit support of NATO allies, as well as South Korea and Japan, and I’m terrified of a return to pre-20th century ‘might makes right’ international relations where the powerful will exploit and abuse the weak.

After the election I went to one of my favourite thinkers, Jonathon Haidt. This recent video of him inspired me to try to reach out to Trump supporters via Twitter and try to genuinely understand and empathise with them, and perhaps in turn have them empathise with me. After a couple of days of that I’ve all but given up, having repeatedly bashed my head against the brick wall of Infowars, international Jewish Globalist conspiracy, and a well that is now permanently poisoned against anything from the liberal intellectual tradition.

Now I’m more lost than ever. I’ve actually become ill from worry and feel like I’m now just compulsively online, trying to understand and explain and maybe find a light at the end of the tunnel. My question to you guys is: what are you doing to cope? Is there a place that people like us can go for mutual support? What’s the best way to stop this awful feeling of powerlessness and loss?

Wouldn’t it be TERRIBLE and THE WORST THING EVER if 85 percent of the American people approved of their leader? These morons don’t even listen to themselves, so why on Earth would they think we will?

This hapless individual has quite clearly learned nothing from “one of his favorite thinkers”. He still thinks that if only he lectures the Alt-Right on a liberal intellectual tradition that we know better than he does, we’ll come around to what can’t rightly be called his way of thinking. Say, rather, his way of parroting left-liberal dogma.

We know the liberal intellectual tradition, both the genuine one and its subsequent substitution. We reject them both.

An Equation of Almost Infinite Complexity

Today, Castalia House is pleased to announce a debut novel by J. Mulrooney, AN EQUATION OF ALMOST INFINITE COMPLEXITY.

When the devil moves in next door to Cooper Smith Cooper’s house, Cooper doesn’t know what to make of him at first. But when the unexpectedly neighborly Scratch helps the unemployed actuary find a job at a local insurance company with the help of some inside information into the activities of Death, Cooper decides the old devil might not be so bad after all.

The only problem, Cooper thinks, is how to conceal from his fellow actuaries his newfound ability to perfectly predict the time and place of people’s deaths. And then, there is also the small matter of the screams of his recently deceased neighbor coming from Scratch’s basement furnace to consider.

AN EQUATION OF ALMOST INFINITE COMPLEXITY is a sardonically funny debut novel from J. Mulrooney.

This was one of the first novels I signed to Castalia House, and it has been nearly two years in the making. The genre is a little hard to describe, as it has fantasy elements, satirical elements, and literary elements. I would put it somewhere between The Missionaries and Loki’s Child; it’s not quite as funny as the former, not anywhere nearly as pedal-to-the-metal insane as the latter. It is intelligent, witty, and has a peculiar sensibility all its own; there is, perhaps, just a little John Irving maple syrup flavor to it.

Our production editor loved this one and says it is his favorite of all the novels we’ve published to date. Regardless, it certainly has one of the best first lines since Larry Correia’s first Monster Hunter novel.

When the devil moved in next door, Cooper Smith Cooper had the same question everyone else did: how would it affect the property values?

Steps ahead

It’s rather amusing to see how the God-Emperor Ascendant no sooner gets criticized for something nonsensical by the Left than his actions obviate the basis for their criticism:

Vice President-elect Mike Pence reportedly ordered the removal of all lobbyists from president-elect Donald Trump’s transition team, The Wall Street Journal wrote on Tuesday night.

The decision was one of Pence’s first since formally taking over the team’s lead role. New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie was abruptly dismissed from the post last week.

Critics have excoriated Trump for including lobbyists, Washington insiders, and Republican Party veterans among his team, suggesting it contradicts the anti-establishment message that defined his campaign.

“[Americans] do not want corporate executives to be the ones who are calling the shots in Washington,” Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren said earlier Tuesday. “What Donald Trump is doing is that he’s putting together a transition team that’s full of lobbyists — the kind of people he actually ran against,” she said.

Will Fauxcahauntas praise Trump for actually draining the swamp? Of course not! Because Warren isn’t anti-establishment, she was just grabbing what she mistakenly thought was a useful club with which to hit Trump.

But, as usual, the God-Emperor Ascendant is several steps ahead of his bumbling opposition. As entertaining as the Obama administration was, the Trump administration promises to be even more so, albeit in an entirely different way.

Then, for a night cap, Trump proceeded to upset the entire press corps by going out to dinner with his family without inviting them as is apparently traditional. And received a standing ovation when he walked into the steak house.

The mainstream media think Trump is a madman and in disarray because they’ve never seen this level of competence in action before. One thing that is amazing about the God-Emperor Ascendant is the speed with which he acts once he decides that someone is not up to fulfilling their responsibilities to his liking. Never forget, this is a man who changed campaign managers THREE TIMES in the course of a campaign, and won. He didn’t win DESPITE changing them, he won BECAUSE he changed them.

Rogers was told that all team members picked by Christie were being ousted, The Journal reported, citing a source familiar with the situation.

Translation: settle down, everyone. Trump has no intention of letting the neocons or the GOPe interfere with his administration. That doesn’t mean there won’t be anyone from the status quo on his team; many individuals have legitimate and relevant experience that could be of genuine utility to him. But it’s pretty clear already that if they get out of line or attempt to exert any undue influence on him, they won’t be there long.

Trump likes to test people and give them enough rope to hang themselves. My guess, and it is nothing more than that, is that Chris Christie gave him certain assurances, then promptly went ahead and violated them as he tried to impose status quo shackles on the God-Emperor Ascendant, thereby prompting the house-cleaning. It wouldn’t surprise me at all to learn Donald Trump Jr. was somehow involved in that process. One senses an uncompromising and merciless hand in all of this.

An Alt-Tech Convergence

This is the good kind of convergence, not SJW convergence. I’m delighted to be able to say that the latest version of Brave, 0.12.9, now features Infogalactic as a built-in search engine. You can either make it the default through Settings: Search or you can access it directly in the URL bar by typing :i, then whatever you want to search for.

For example, typing :i vox day will take you directly to the Vox Day page on Infogalactic.

Another new feature is the new tab page that shows you how many trackers/ads are blocked with Brave, and thus how much time you save when browsing/loading pages

Download Brave 0.12.9 here.

As for Infogalactic, we’re still working the phase one speedup. Figure three more weeks before we’re able to implement that.

Inquisition 2.0

Apparently, some people literally never learn:

For years, whenever Jews and Muslims engaged in dialogue and activism together, it usually concerned — or foundered — on one issue: the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. With Donald Trump’s ascent to the presidency, that appears to be changing. Regardless of what’s happening across the ocean, Jews and Muslims in the United States are joining together to fight for shared domestic concerns.

“It is a perhaps growing recognition that [the Israeli-Palestinian conflict] cannot define how American Jews and American Muslims relate to one another,” said Rabbi David Fox Sandmel, the Anti-Defamation League’s director of interreligious engagement. “The shared concerns we have about prejudice, about bias, about threats of violence, about disenfranchisement — these are the kinds of things that can bring us together.”

On Monday, the American Jewish Committee and the Islamic Society of North America launched the Muslim-Jewish Advisory Council, a group of religious and business leaders from both communities who will help draft domestic policy legislation and advocate on issues of shared concern.

From Infogalactic:  For the most part, the invasion of the Moors was welcomed by the Jews of Iberia. Both Muslim and Catholic sources tell us that Jews provided valuable aid to the invaders. Once captured, the defense of Córdoba was left in the hands of Jews, and Granada, Málaga, Seville, and Toledo were left to a mixed army of Jews and Moors. The Chronicle of Lucas de Tuy records that “when the Catholics left Toledo on Sunday before Easter to go to the Church of the Holy Laodicea to listen to the divine sermon, the Jews acted treacherously and informed the Saracens. Then they closed the gates of the city before the Catholics and opened them for the Moors.”

White Christian Americans helped establish and fund and defend Israel. And this is the gratitude they receive? This is the thanks they get? ANOTHER Jewish-Muslim alliance against them in their own country? It’s not as if Americans don’t know who opened the gates in 1965.

Guess what’s likely to come of this sort of behavior. Come on, just one guess. And what sort of bizarre, ahistorical logic do people whose single metric is “is it good for the Jews” use to conclude that this behavior is, somehow, going to be good for the Jews? Epic stupidity doesn’t even begin to describe this.

How GG crowned the God-Emperor

And saved the free world:

By now, you’ve read countless presidential election post-mortems that have struggled to rationalize how Donald Trump beat Hillary Clinton when it was “her turn” to be president. Many of them predictably avoid placing any blame on the candidate herself (first female president!) and instead blame James Comey, or Russia, or Jill Stein. In reality, the president-elect trumped Hillary because of Gamergate and the vast internet army that the movement created.

That’s right: Trump was literally memed into the White House. Trump and his supporters dominated social media from day one, pumping out weaponized memes at a rate that Hillary’s campaign never could have anticipated. When the email scandal broke, the internet detectives who were just rookies at the peak of Gamergate used their experience to sniff out each and every damaging WikiLeaks revelation. Hillary supporters blame a “silent majority” of backwoods hillbillies for Trump’s victory, but they could have realized the tide was turning if only they looked online….

Like clockwork, the prominent figures who backed Gamergate also began jumping onto the God-Emperor bandwagon.

Milo Yiannopoulos, the Breitbart journalist whose very existence as an openly gay Trump supporter continues to cause cognitive dissonance in SJWs everywhere, was also the first person to break the news about the gaming journalist elites’ secret mailing list. While he was virtually unknown back in those days, Milo has now become one of the movement’s key figures. His rise to fame has been met with a predictable character assassination on the part of the mainstream media, but Milo doesn’t seem to mind, especially now that people are genuinely pushing for him to become the White House press secretary.

Gamergate may have also led to Trump picking Steve Bannon to serve as the White House chief strategist. Bannon is the executive chairman of Breitbart News, which was the only prominent media outlet to cover Gamergate as it unfolded. Sure enough, the media has been quick to scaremonger about the decision, depicting Bannon as an anti-Semitic white nationalist. The New York Times even called him a “voice of racism,” which should sound like a familiar aspersion.

There’s also Vox Day, the author and Rabid Puppies founder who penned the book SJWs Always Lie: Taking Down the Thought Police as a “guide to understanding, anticipating, and surviving SJW attacks.” He was among the first wave of a Gamergate supporters, hosting the GGinParis meetup in July 2015 along with Milo and Mike Cernovich, yet another Gamergate figure who emerged as one of the most famous pro-Trump memeologists.

Read the whole thing. Well done, #GamerGaters. Salud to the #GGinParis gang. It’s an honor to stand with you all. And remember, it never ends.

An election metaphor

Sic semper stupidis. Question: did anyone happen to see a UT parking sticker on the bumper? Asking for a friend.

If you ever find yourself in a position where people are screaming at you, “get off the fucking highway”, you really should take it as a sign to seriously reconsider your life choices.
