The answer to SJW failure is more SJW
Isn’t it amazing how the Left’s inevitable answer to failure is always more of the same? The EU is failing? Must need more Europe! The Venezuelan economy has collapsed? Must need more communism! Diversity comics don’t sell? MORE DIVERSITY IS THE ONLY WAY!
A few days ago a discussion and subsequent interview with David Gabriel, Marvel Comics’ Senior VP of Sales and Marketing, at their retailer summit began making the rounds, but not for the reasons the publisher was hoping. Marvel has every reason to be concerned, as their share of the market has shrunk dramatically in the last few months. Figuring out the cause of that decrease is vital for Marvel’s survival—yet the answer they’ve come to isn’t just inaccurate, it’s also offensive.
SJWs have reduced themselves to insisting that reality is inaccurate and offensive. After all, an SJW teen librarian writing for Tor must know considerably more about how Marvel’s comics are selling than Marvel’s own Senior VP of Sales and Marketing!
Diversity doesn’t sell for obvious reasons. Blacks don’t read very much. Hispanics don’t read very much. Asians read, but not as much as whites do. And whites like to read about blacks and Hispanics and Asians even less than Asians and blacks and Hispanics like to read about whites.
And the resistance of SJW-converged publishers to these observable facts is why Castalia House will eventually be bigger than Tor Books.
Speaking of comics, the co-creator of Alt-Hero and I are working on putting together a serious comic-related project. Figure two months before we have anything significant to discuss in public, although I’ve got an artist or two kicking some concepts around. But the project is going to be cool, it is going to be ambitious, and it is going to be mind-blowing in several very different ways.
Not a nation of immigrants
Notice that both wages and living standards rose as immigration fell, and both have fallen as immigration has increased and gotten out of hand. Immigration does not benefit a society. It destroys and impoverishes it.
The good news, such as it is, is that those higher numbers will never be reached. The USA will collapse long before that point, most likely a few years before 2040.
But at least Americans will have the satisfaction of knowing that no one ever called them racist, right?
Even the globalist Foreign Affairs realizes that the current situation is no longer tenable.
Regarding cultural assimilation, advocates of open immigration policies often argue that there is no problem. During the last great wave of immigration, from roughly 1880 to 1920, Americans feared the newcomers would not blend in, but for the most part they ended up assimilating. Therefore, as this reasoning goes, all immigrants will assimilate.
Unfortunately, however, circumstances that helped Great Wave immigrants assimilate are not present today. First, World War I and then legislation in the early 1920s dramatically reduced new arrivals. By 1970 less than 5 percent of the U.S. population was foreign-born, down from 14.7 percent in 1910. This reduction helped immigrant communities assimilate, as they were no longer continually refreshed by new arrivals from the old country. But in recent decades, the dramatic growth of immigrant enclaves has likely slowed the pace of assimilation. Second, many of today’s immigrants, like those of the past, have modest education levels, but unlike in the past, the modern U.S. economy has fewer good jobs for unskilled workers. Partly for this reason, immigrants do not improve their economic situation over time as much as they did in the past.
Third, technology allows immigrants to preserve ties with the homeland in ways that were not possible a century ago. Calling, texting, emailing, FaceTiming, and traveling home are all relatively cheap and easy. Fourth, the United States’ attitude toward newcomers has also changed. In the past, there was more of a consensus about the desirability of assimilation.
Fifth, it’s not just harder for multicultural, multireligious USicans to assimilate Africans and Muslims and mestizos than it was for Christian Anglo-Americans to partially assimilate Northern and Southern Europeans, it is impossible.
Reading List 2016
I was so busy in 2016 that the number of books I read in their entirety declined from 63 to 52. Of the books I read last year, the one I enjoyed most was South of the Border, West of the Sun, a novel about a jazz club owner by Haruki Murakami. The novel I most enjoyed was Nick Cole’s Ctrl-Alt-Revolt!, I find it hard to imagine the game designer or serious gamer who would not enjoy it. Dance Dance Dance was very good, but Murakami did not quite bring his A-game in that one.
The worst books I read this year were Simon Hawke’s clumsy attempts to turn Shakespeare into a detective, a fictional trend that I despise, and although he is a pop-SF writer with a historical bent whom I normally enjoy reading, I gave up on the Shakespeare & Smythe series after reading the first three books in it. They weren’t horrible, though, and I did not read a single book I considered to be a one-star book this year.
On the non-fiction side, I read a number of truly excellent books from Hallpike, Oman, Huntington and Turchin. We managed to acquire the Hallpike for Castalia House, we tried and failed to do the same with the Turchin books. One for three isn’t bad. The best non-fiction book was Underground, Haruki Murakami’s fascinating and incredibly in-depth investigation into the perpetrators and the survivors of Aum Shinrikyo’s sarin attack on the Tokyo subway.
Keep in mind these ratings are not necessarily statements about a book’s significance or its literary quality, they are merely casual observations of my personal tastes and how much I happened to enjoy reading the book at the time. A five-star book is one that I recommend without any reservations, while any three-star or above is likely going to be worth your while. As always, I have read parts of more books than are on this list, but I only rate books that I have read cover to cover.

Reviewers/Proofreaders wanted
We’ve got a pair of Mil-SF novels coming out this month. One is good. The other may be the best novel we have published yet. If you would like to volunteer for proofreading or reviewing either, please email with MIL-SF in the subject. We would like 20-25 between the two.
We are good to go, thank you!
Also, well done, VFM. Exactly what was required. Mission accomplished.
Who is Mike Cernovitch
The New York Times helpfully tells you how to think about its current bête noire:
Mr. Cernovich is a blogger, author of books, YouTube personality and filmmaker with a far-right social media following. Much of his online persona is driven by two mottos: “conflict is attention” and “attention is influence.”
He told The New Yorker, “I use trolling tactics to build my brand.”
Before this week, he was perhaps best known for promoting false claims that Hillary Clinton was part of a pedophile ring located in the basement of a pizzeria. He describes himself as an “American nationalist” and has been involved in shaping alt-right messages on social media, according to The New Yorker. But he has denied being part of the alt-right movement, calling it “too obsessed with gossip and drama for my tastes” in a blog post….
During his YouTube broadcast on Tuesday, Mr. Cernovich denied accusations from critics that he is a misogynist, a rape apologist or a white nationalist. He said his past statements had been taken out of context and called some of them “obvious satire” that had been misinterpreted in bad faith.
“Nobody tells you how to be famous,” he said.
Later, shortly before appearing on a talk show hosted by Alex Jones, another far-right conspiracy theorist, Mr. Cernovich said he did not care if the media portrayed him positively or not.
“Look at me,” he said, speaking into the camera. “I did this to Susan Rice. I did this to Hillary Clinton. I’m doing real journalism. I’m destroying your fake news outlets. Look at me. Look at my face. I’m the media now.”
I know I feel much better informed now that I have been given permission to hate hate hate the evil Mikhael Chernobylich, who is obviously a liar, a misogynist, a rape apologist, an alt-right white nationalist and a far-right conspiracy theorist who will be devastated by this thoughtful, informative article by a trustworthy news source.
I also like the way they grabbed images from YouTube rather than risk using an excessively flattering professional photo. See, this is why you don’t talk to them. The fact that they couldn’t get access to him just makes them look like anklebiters.
UPDATE: The would-be hit piece by the cucks at National Review is inadvertently hilarious.
The White House Should Not Be Promoting Mike Cernovich
The testosterone-obsessed conspiracist makes an unsavory social-media warrior for the White House.
Translation: We have neither balls nor spine and we will go down to noble defeat in only the most graceful and decorous manner. Please to permit us to surrender on your behalf.
Neoconning the God-Emperor
At some point, Donald Trump is going to have to realize that there is a reason the neocons and their global policeman approach failed:
President Donald Trump said Wednesday that it is now his responsibility to resolve the humanitarian and political crisis in Syria as he opened the door to military action in the country. Trump upped the ante in a Rose Garden press conference after having said earlier in the day that the the chemical weapons attack is a ‘terrible affront to humanity.’
‘My attitude toward Syria and Assad has changed very much,’ Trump declared, suggesting with the statement that he may be reconsidering his directive to US diplomats to take their focus off removing Bashar al-Assad from power.
The ‘horrible, horrible’ sarin gas attack that killed small children and ‘beautiful babies’ had a ‘big impact’ on the president, who declared Wednesday that the attack ‘crossed a lot of lines.’ ‘When you kill innocent children, innocent babies…with a chemical gas that is so lethal…that crosses many, many lines. Beyond a red line,’ Trump said, making reference to Barack Obama’s infamous 2012 threat to Assad.
No one actually gives a damn about Syrian children, except that they not be permitted to reside in the West. It’s unfortunate that the God-Emperor appears – appears – be falling increasingly under the sway of the Washington wormtongues whispering about being presidential in his ears.
Perhaps the God-Emperor needs to get out of the White House and start listening to the American people again rather than his observably unreliable intelligence agencies.
It’s really rather remarkable how “the international situation” operates as a “hey shiny” distraction for politicians. People have been getting brutalized and slaughtered in the Middle East for 6,000 years. If humanity is really fortunate, they’ll be getting brutalized and slaughtered there 6,000 years from now. To believe that it is any concern of yours, much less that you can do anything about it, is the height of folly.
And, of course, that’s assuming that the whole “chemical weapons attack” isn’t a false flag in the first place, which is very, very far from a safe assumption.
The Russians have already called BS:
The United States, Britain and France have proposed a draft U.N. Security Council resolution that would condemn the attack; the Russian Foreign Ministry called it “unacceptable” and said it was based on “fake information”.
Alt-Right or else
Americans will all be Alt-Right soon, and immigrants like this are why. They have to go back. But I think you can be forgiven if you find yourself hoping that obnoxious little diversity assholes like this won’t.
This is a key reason why I find myself more and more opposed to legal immigration altogether each year.
His dad worked at Citi and has his own hedgefund… Great, model immigrant, right? His son is still stealing slots from our “top” schools and Affirmative Action rights from blacks, all the while bashing the United States, our history, and our culture.
The boy has no original thoughts, has done nothing but pad his resume, but is still showered with praise and support from Hillary, Obama, and the other loser. Oh, dear, and he’s still oppressed!
It’s also sickening how our culture actively pushes ethnic minorities to despise the US. It’s just madness. Many immigrants come relieved and grateful to be in America, but then their children find new ways to feel oppressed, largely because they’re urged to in school.
In summary, I don’t see the benefit in accepting immigrants if their children will take our spots and hate us while doing it. If you’re able to work on STEM projects, maybe, but if you’re just here to enrich yourself in fields like finance or law, then stay home and fix your own country.
The pre-1965 demographics are the absolute minimum required. If you, or your parents, or your grandparents, arrived in the USA after 1965, you have to go back. No one gives a damn if you were born American in Mumbai. Or Topeka.
You’re not American. The United States of America is not your country and you damn well know it. Now, go home before the golden goose finally expires and you end up as just another skull stacked in a pyramid along the border.
No hard feelings, you understand. It’s nothing personal. But just like too much water kills an individual, too much immigration kills a society. And the longer a society refrains from addressing the problem, the more extreme the solution will inevitably be.
Instapundit goes Alt-Right
All logical roads lead to the Alt-Right, so it is only a matter of time. Today Instapundit drew our attention to one of his more perspicacious post-election observations.
What if minority voters just won’t turn out for non-minority candidates any more? That’s a real problem for the Democrats, especially if all the racial politics they pursue in order to try to motivate minority voters (Black Lives Matter, immigration protests, etc.) actually serve to make minorities less likely to vote for whites, even if they’re Democrats. And if working-class whites start to vote Republican the way minorities have voted Democratic — and all that racial politics is likely to encourage that — the Dems are in trouble.
It’s not a what-if. They increasingly won’t, because identity politics. We know this. Somalis in Minnesota don’t vote for Jewish Democrats, they vote for Somalis. Indians in Toronto don’t vote for whatever the Canadian parties happen to be, they vote for Indians. Muslims in London don’t vote for British Labour candidates, they vote for Muslims.
This isn’t that hard. And it’s not as if Americans didn’t know this. Blacks only ever voted for Blacks too, it’s just that the geniuses who observe American politics somehow managed to erroneously conclude that this was unique to African-Americans because legacy of slavery or something equally stupid.
Shutting down the enemy
Hungary has the brains to starve the parasite:
Hungarian lawmakers on Tuesday approved legislation that could force the closure of a prestigious Budapest university founded by US billionaire investor George Soros, sparking fresh protests. The English-language Central European University (CEU), set up in 1991 after the fall of communism, has long been seen as a hostile bastion of liberalism by Prime Minister Viktor Orban’s government.
MPs in the 199-seat parliament, dominated by Orban’s Fidesz party, voted 123 in favour and 38 against the legislation affecting foreign universities operating in Hungary.
The new rules ban institutions outside the European Union from awarding Hungarian diplomas without an agreement between national governments. They will also be required to have a campus and faculties in their home country — conditions not met by the CEU.
Failure to comply would mean the CEU could not accept new student intakes from 2018, and possibly close by 2021.
Their next step should be to target all foreign-funded NGOs. NGOs are the stealth army of everyone from the CIA and the Roman Catholic Church to wealthy private parties. If I were in government, I would not permit a single foreign NGO to operate within my country’s borders. They reliably do far more harm than good, as the recent series of color revolutions and civil wars tends to demonstrate.
