Turns out George Clooney’s scooter accident was way more serious than everyone first thought … because we’ve learned the actor literally became a human projectile after impact.
Sources with direct knowledge of the crash tell TMZ … Clooney was doing 60 MPH when a car suddenly pulled in front of him. Clooney was thrown from his bike and his helmet struck the car’s windshield, causing it to shatter. The force of the impact actually broke his helmet.
Our sources say Clooney was hurled TWENTY FEET in the air … he was actually propelled over the car he hit.
You may recall that Clooney’s name seems to pop up regularly in association with certain sketchy countries and organizations. Europe has been a very dangerous place for American celebrities of late.
When I first picked up Chicago Typewriter, I was expecting some kind of hard-boiled, noir crime drama set in the 1920’s. What I got, however, was a hard-boiled, noir crime drama set in the 1920’s that also happened to be crawling with monsters, spirits, the afterlife, and a healthy dose of otherworldly horror. While it may not have been what I was expecting, it turns out that prohibition era storytelling does in fact improve when you fill it with ghosts, ghouls, and evil machinations of all sorts. Things start out in an interesting, if a little bit of a confusing, fashion. A man by the name of Emilio Enzo, along with a few friends, are tromping about a cemetery in the middle of the night. Their purpose isn’t immediately clear, besides the fact Emilio wishes to be buried at the gravestone of one Remi Geroux. Things take a turn for the weird soon after that and it’s a roller coaster ride of crazy storytelling and outstanding artwork for the remainder of the trip.
This is the best rating that one of our comics have received to date – read the review to see – and while we can’t take any credit for creating Chicago Typewriter – all the credit goes 100 percent to Brandon Fiadino – it should demonstrate that we are as serious about our commitment to quality with Dark Legion Comics as we are with Arkhaven.
Chicago Typewriter: The Red Ribbon is now available in a gold logo print edition from Castalia Books Direct and in Kindle format on Amazon.
If you’re a civic nationalist, then don’t expect us to take seriously your future whining about foreign residents being given the right to vote. Have we not been told that it is the act of traveling to the United States with the intention of finding a better life there that makes one truly an American?
Non-U.S. citizens living in the country legally may one day be allowed to vote in Boston elections. The City Council is holding a hearing Tuesday on the idea at the request of Council President Andrea Campbell. The council is considering ways to make city elections more inclusive, including allowing immigrants with legal status in the country the right to vote in municipal races.
That could include legal permanent residents, visa holders and those on Temporary Protected Status or Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals.
Campbell’s order for a hearing says Boston has more than 190,000 foreign-born residents, which represents 28 percent of the city population.
Now, what is more indicative of a commitment to the “nation”, mouthing a few words you don’t even understand or at least taking the trouble to get on an airplane and relocate? Just wait until the Left takes the Boston initiative national… which is an ironic turn of phrase if I’ve ever heard one. Because they most certainly will. It’s a winning strategy for Democrats that is soundly rooted in civic nationalist rhetoric that even many conservatives accept.
Like communism, feminism, libertarianism and socialism, civic nationalism is an ideology that carries within itself the seeds of its own inevitable demise.
This big lead column on Monday Morning Quarterback is written by Jenny Vrentas. Now there are women who know about football, there are female sports writers who understand the game, but one thing that you’ll notice about SJWs in general, and female SJWs in particular, is that they have no interest in the actual topic that they’re supposed to be covering. All they want to do is either talk about politics or people, because that’s the only thing that they’re interested in….
There’s a whole section on NYC Pride and NFL pride, how this is the first time that the NFL has sponsored the Pride Parade in New York City. So it’s not enough it’s not enough that they are attempting to push migration, and they’re attempting to push social activism and support the flag protests, but now they’re also trying to push homosexuality, using the league to do this, and so what we’re seeing here is that SJWs in the media are shameless about using any organization with influence, with power, with the microphone to push their own social justice agenda.
Now there is no planet on which you can claim that this is going to be good for the NFL now, and so we can blame the NFL, we can blame FIFA, for all the idiot SJW BS they’ve been pushing, but what’s astonishing is the way in which the NFL and other organizations allow SJWs in the media to push this. They allow themselves to be used by outside organizations, to push those outside organizations’ social justice ideals to their own detriment. There is absolutely no question that the more they push migrants, the more they push gays, the more they push flag protests, the more people that are going to abandon the NFL.
What’s killing the NFL is not so much the people who are turning it off, although that is definitely hurting them, what’s absolutely killing them is people like me just dialing it down a few notches, you know, because I don’t follow it as closely as I used to as when I had the NFL Game Pass. Because I’d always watch every Vikings game and I wasn’t the only one in the house who would do so. Now, you know, if there’s a free game on the TV, I’ll watch that. I’m not a fanatic about about this stuff, I’m just not willing to spend 100 bucks or 120 bucks or whatever it is. I’m just not willing to do that anymore, and if you look at other people who are doing the same thing – and many many other people are doing the same thing – the net effect of that is tremendously negative.
You can already tell the NFL is not going to make it’s 10-year growth goals because they lost so much traction last year, and that’s assuming that they’re able to start recovering this year, but based on what we’re seeing from the media, I very much doubt that’s going to happen. When NASCAR first went SJW, it lost about the same 10-15 percent the first year, and of course they doubled down, and they were certain that they were going to come back from it, but NASCAR television ratings and track attendance is now down as much as 50 percent. It might even be more than 50 percent this year, and so I think the same thing is going to happen to the NFL. I think it’s going to be a shock to a lot of people, especially people in the media who have been denying that their SJW infestation is the cause of their problems.
The NFL has a choice. It can continue to fashion its responses to the whims of a president whose appetite for conflict and controversy is so limitless that the NFL will be forced into embarrassing concession after embarrassing concession while alienating its highest-profile employees, who have every right to believe themselves jerked around on an issue that is of paramount importance to them.
Or it can follow the example set a century ago by the GAA. It can resist.
It can rescind its failed policy, which only will continue to fail in embarrassing ways. It can return to the status quo ante—basically, just allowing players to do what they will and then stand the gaff no matter what the origin of said gaff. The problems the NFL is having with its TV ratings have little or nothing to do with what the players do while half the stadium is under the stands, loading up for the first quarter, no matter what the talking points of the day say.
NN Taleb is right. Never pay any attention to the advice given by anyone without material skin in the game.
All 12 youth football players and their coach have now been rescued from a flooded cave in northern Thailand, following a three-day operation.
The final four school boys and their coach, who had been trapped in the Tham Luang Cave in Chiang Rai for 18 days, were carried out on stretchers to waiting ambulances on Tuesday afternoon.
Among those extracted today is the youngest member of the team, 11-year-old Chanin Wiboonrungruang, whose nickname is Titan.
The governor of the rescue mission had previously said Tuesday’s operation would be more difficult than the previous two days, due to the increased number of people who need to be evacuated.
Following the last boys and their 25-year-old coach will be four Thai Navy SEALs – including a medic – who have been staying with the group since they were discovered huddled together on a muddy ledge 2,620ft (800 metres) underground on July 2.
The Thai Navy SEALs confirmed the successful rescue on their official Facebook page, writing: ’12 wild boars and coach out of the cave. Everyone is safe. Now just waiting to pick up four frogs. Hooyah.’
Amazing. And while the story never truly ends, it’s great to see this particular chapter come to a close on a high and happy note.
“As long as you fight, as long as you believe in yourself we will go through the bad things and will succeed in life.” – Thitiporn Anurakkhana
If anyone ever had an excuse for despair, if anyone ever had a rational reason to just give up, it was those 12 boys. They are an object lesson in the importance of fighting until the very end. I wonder how many of them will become SEALs themselves?
It’s no wonder all of these churches in Minnesota are dying. They have abandoned the Word of God so the Holy Spirit has left the building and people can sense it.
Minnesota’s mainline Christian denominations face unprecedented declines, altering communities and traditions celebrated for generations.
La Salle, Minn. — For 100 years, Lutherans in this farming community on the Minnesota prairie have come to one church to share life’s milestones.
They have been baptized, confirmed and married at La Salle Lutheran. Their grandparents, parents and siblings lie in the church cemetery next door.
But the old friends who gathered here early one recent Sunday never imagined that they would one day be marking the death of their own church.
When La Salle Lutheran locks its doors in August, it will become the latest casualty among fragile Minnesota churches either closing, merging or praying for a miracle. Steep drops in church attendance, aging congregations, and cultural shifts away from organized religion have left most of Minnesota’s mainline Christian denominations facing unprecedented declines.
St. Paul’s On the Hill Episcopal Church on prestigious Summit Avenue was recently sold to a developer after more than a century of religious service. Bethany Lutheran Church in the Longfellow neighborhood of Minneapolis held its “holy closure” ceremony last fall. St. Michael Catholic Church in West St. Paul celebrated its last mass 18 months ago.
Mainline Protestant churches have been hit the hardest. The Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) in Minnesota has lost almost 200,000 members since 2000 and about 150 churches. A third of the remaining 1,050 churches have fewer than 50 members. The United Methodist Church, the second largest Protestant denomination in Minnesota, has shuttered 65 churches since 2000.
Once a Christian church goes Churchian, accepts women as leaders, and begins to preach the Gospel of Emma Lazarus and Martin Luther King, it begins to die. Every single time. I find it absolutely astonishing that so few Christians appear able to recognize the very clear and undeniable pattern of church decline and demise.
The blogger at the link notes: La Salle Lutheran Church. It is Lutheran Immigration Services in MN that is largely responsible for the growing Muslim population there. So should anyone be surprised that Lutheran churches are losing congregants.
This is an open thread to discuss it. Please stay on the subject of the Supreme Court Justice and the upcoming Trump nomination.
Donald Trump has decided who he’ll nominate to the Supreme Court, according to two people familiar with the matter, as the president prepares to make a prime-time announcement of a choice that could solidify conservative jurisprudence for years.
The people would not say who Trump had selected. One person suggested it would be one of two U.S. Appeals Court judges: Brett Kavanaugh of Washington or Thomas Hardiman of Pittsburgh.
Trump will reveal his choice during a televised event from the White House East Room at 9 p.m. New York time, after a short but intense build-up since Justice Anthony Kennedy announced his retirement less than two weeks ago.
Maybe there will be or maybe there will not, but I simply do not understand why people insist on teasing this kind of information ahead of time. Are they simply unaware of what seems to keep happening to people who are going to testify about the criminal activities of America’s leading crime family?
Jack Burkman, a Washington-based attorney and lobbyist who has worked with a private investigative team to solve the Seth Rich murder mystery, told The Gateway Pundit that the witness has conclusive evidence that will bring Rich’s killers to justice within a month.
“We believe that we have reached the beginning of the end of the Seth Rich murder investigation,” Burkman told The Gateway Pundit in an exclusive interview Sunday. “After two long hard years of work, we have a witness who is prepared to identify the two killers of Seth Rich. One is reportedly a current DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) agent, the other is reportedly a current ATF (Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives) agent”
The witness, who “fears for his life,” will be accompanied by armed guards and disguise his identity as he details how two employees of the United States government killed Seth in a press conference slated for Tuesday.
If I was in that position, I’d be damn sure to have 500 packages of evidence providing conclusive proof sent to various people and locations and authorities around the world. Harambe didn’t take precautions and look what happened to him.
This is a new spin on the universal right to be an American. Steve Sailer rightly takes the spinners to task:
King John should have had Ilya Somin working for him doing spin at Runnymede in 1215. He would have shamed those aristocrats into giving up all their hereditary rights to the autocrat.
Do you ever get the feeling that, leaving aside minor details about what kind of economic system, the Soviet Union will eventually triumph over the United States due to the sophistic skills of ex-Soviets like Ilya Somin, Max Boot, Masha Gessen, and Julia Ioffe? They may not quite agree on what should replace the U.S., but they are united in being committed to propagandizing Americans into believing that America isn’t for “ourselves and our posterity,” no matter what it says in the Preamble to the Constitution.
After all, who would know more about how to organize a polity than somebody whose ancestors helped set up the Soviet Union? Who cares what Goodvernor Morris thought, when what matter these days is what the Somin family thinks?
And by ex-Soviets, Steve is being extraordinarily polite, because he’s actually referring to (((ex-Soviets))) who, by any other name, are still Trotskyite World Revolutionaries.
In case you haven’t figured it out yet, these ex-Soviets have been trying to turn the USA into the new USSR for the last 50 years. And while they haven’t entirely succeeded, they’ve made a considerable amount of headway, thanks in no small part to libertarians and conservatives.
Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson has resigned. That should be sufficient to eject Teresa the Traitor from the Prime Ministership.
Et tu Boris? Johnson QUITS in devastating blow for May as she faces furious Tory MPs in the Commons over her ‘stinker’ Brexit trade plan – and more ministers could follow him out of the door.
Theresa May is in a desperate battle for her political life today after Boris Johnson dramatically quit over her ‘third way’ Brexit plan.
The Foreign Secretary resigned just minutes before the PM took to her feet the Commons in a statement to MPs about the compromise package she forced through the Cabinet on Friday night.
Mrs May tried to put a brave face on the shattering blow this afternoon, paying tribute to Mr Johnson’s commitment to ‘Global Britain’. She mounted an impassioned defence of her blueprint, saying it was the ‘Brexit in our national interest’.
But some Labour MPs jeered ‘bye’ and ‘resign’ as she stood up to address the chamber.
Mrs May must then endure the pressure cooker of a private meeting with Tory backbenchers later amid a massive backlash from Eurosceptics that is threatening to sweep her out of Downing Street.
First get rid of May. Then get rid of Merkel. Then Brexit, then Italexit, and it’s adios EU. Nationalism INTENSIFIES!
I’d like to see Jacob Rees-Mogg as PM. I could be wrong, but he seems to be the smartest nationalist in the room.
