Grendelizer is frustrated with the little piggy that won’t:

She says she’s tried “working out” and it doesn’t work. I beg her to just try it “my way” and see what happens. She says that’s just not “her way.”

If that’s the case, she’s just a lazy ass and harsher measures are required. There is not a body in the world that working out does not work for. There is no chance that anyone, at any age, can go through a serious workout routine, six days a week for six weeks, without seeing visible changes to the body. Give her consequences… not a relationship ultimatum or anything, just discover that you are suddenly too lazy to bother providing the things she wants from you.

Then when she wants to know why she doesn’t have any money for buying clothes or knickknacks while you’re driving a new Porsche, tell her that’s just your way. Geese, ganders and sauce, don’t you know.

The idea that the loving Christian example aka martyr will inspire a desire for positive change in everyone is a farce. It makes no sense at all! Yes, it can work, but that’s a far cry from saying that it will work. Think about it for a second… there were no shortage of individuals who rejected Jesus Christ himself and refused to change their ways when he came in person and told them to.

If an individual won’t even consider changing their unacceptable ways despite reasonable and repeated requests on your part, you’ve got two choices. Accept the status quo or up the ante. Since I could not care less about the sociopaths and psychopaths who consider the feelings of others to be of no import whatsoever, I tend to favor the latter.

I’m always amused when a slovenly woman gets divorced and then miraculously finds the motivation to get herself in shape and make herself attractive again. The women’s magazines portray this as some sort of revenge, of making the ex-husband see what he’s missing, but I can only imagine that far from gnashing his teeth in regret, the ex-husband is laughing, since he knows that when some other poor sucker might fall for it, she’s going to drop the effort and go to pot again at the first opportunity.

We are intricate beings composed of body, mind and soul. If one goes, they all go, and effort is required in all three.

The New York Times finally gets around to outing a traitor:

Months after the Sept. 11 attacks, President Bush secretly authorized the National Security Agency to eavesdrop on Americans and others inside the United States to search for evidence of terrorist activity without the court-approved warrants ordinarily required for domestic spying, according to government officials.

Under a presidential order signed in 2002, the intelligence agency has monitored the international telephone calls and international e-mail messages of hundreds, perhaps thousands, of people inside the United States without warrants over the past three years in an effort to track possible “dirty numbers” linked to Al Qaeda, the officials said. The agency, they said, still seeks warrants to monitor entirely domestic communications.

The previously undisclosed decision to permit some eavesdropping inside the country without court approval represents a major shift in American intelligence-gathering practices, particularly for the National Security Agency, whose mission is to spy on communications abroad. As a result, some officials familiar with the continuing operation have questioned whether the surveillance has stretched, if not crossed, constitutional limits on legal searches….

The White House asked The New York Times not to publish this article, arguing that it could jeopardize continuing investigations and alert would-be terrorists that they might be under scrutiny. After meeting with senior administration officials to hear their concerns, the newspaper delayed publication for a year to conduct additional reporting.

Impeach the bastard now. He’s a traitor, every bit as disloyal to the American people and their Constitution as his predecessor and his likely successor. If it truly was necessary, there’d be no need to do it in secret.

Richard Nixon resigned after getting caught spying on his political foes. Bush should resign for spying on the American people.

The Pan-Galactic is rightly amused only a day after questioning the verity of geological “science”:

Key parts of a landmark paper from South Korea’s most renowned stem cell scientist were fabricated and the researcher is seeking to have the work withdrawn, a close collaborator told South Korean media on Thursday.

The daily newspaper Hankyoreh and three South Korean television networks quoted Roh Sung-il as saying that he, stem cell scientist Hwang Woo-suk and another co-author of the landmark 2005 Science paper on tailor-made stem cells had notified the journal they were withdrawing the paper.

It would be edifying, I think, were someone to write the Encyclopedia of Scientific Fraud. That way, when the Darwinist faithful get rightous about the sanctity of science and scientists as they are occasionally wont to do, one would have something to drop on their toes.

The scientific method is a great boon to mankind, but there is as much fraud that goes on in its name as there is in Christianity.

CNN/SI has Vikings-Packers as only their #7 longtime NFL rivalry, just above Bengals-Browns and below Broncos-Raiders. Please. Ask any Packers fan, there is no way they’d rather beat the Bears than the Vikings – and yet that’s at #2!

Now, Cowboys-Redskins, I’ll give you. But Vikes-Pack is second only to that. Heck, I’d put Cowboys-Steelers above most of the “rivalries” that they listed there. They did, however, get the top new school rivalry right, as Patriots-Colts has become increasingly interesting. I would LOVE to see New England knock off a 17-0 Indianapolis team in this year’s AFC Championship game.

Being in varying degrees of proximity to a relationship or three which appear to be foundering – or have already sunk into the depths – there’s a common theme I’ve noted. Perhaps the most important is that while both sexes are more than a little confused about their proper roles in a functioning marriage, it’s the wives who seem particularly out to sea with regards to their priorities.

It might help, I think, for some women to remember what their vows are centered on, and the special role they have taken in their husband’s lives. Seriously, with the priorities I’ve seen some women display, I can only wonder what job they thought they were signing up for.

If you worry more about what you’re going to serve a man for dinner than how you’re going to rock his world later, you’re not his wife, you’re his cook.

If you spend more time obsessing about the last time you cleaned the house than the last time you had sex, you’re not his wife, you’re his cleaning lady.

If the children are always your top priority at all times, then you’re not his wife, you’re the nanny – or maybe just the day care center.

It’s not that these things are unimportant, but while they’re important, they are properly secondary concerns in a marriage. Your husband didn’t vow before God and Man to be faithful to your cooking and to never eat at another restaurant, after all. And sure, there will be times you’re not in the mood or whatever, but you might want to consider this: would you consider that reasonable grounds for him refusing to pay the mortage or the health insurance? Sex, like love, is a choice. If you’re always waiting for things to magically happen and sweep you away, you need to grow up and quit sleeping with the stuffed unicorn with the rainbows on it.

From what I’ve seen, there’s no shortage of men and women who simply don’t take marriage very seriously and refuse to accept any responsibilities within it. But failing to accept them doesn’t mean they don’t exist and that there won’t be consequences for doing so.

(As for those pathetic women who can find four hours to watch sitcom sexcapades on TV every night but can’t find an hour for the real thing, you’d be wise to buy your husband a subscription to the porn site of his preference and budget for a call girl once a month if you don’t want to wind up collecting cats and alimony.)

There’s a reason why call girls make considerably more money per hour than cooks, cleaners and day care workers, after all. This is because the service they provide is significantly more important to men.

I don’t condone my acquaintances who leave their frigid wives and move on to friendlier climes with a free-at-last smile on their faces, but it’s certainly no mystery why they would do so, leaving behind a woman who laments how she can’t imagine what went wrong when she was such a perfect cook, housekeeper and mother.

God is good. He knew what he was doing when he gave us Chinese takeout, the Roomba and early bedtimes.

Tony Snow hasn’t grasped that Republicans and Democrats are on the same team yet:

By all accounts, the 400-page Barrett report is a bombshell, capable possibly of wiping out Hillary Rodham Clinton’s presidential prospects. At the very least, it would bring to public attention a scandal that would make the Valerie Plame affair vanish into comical insignificance….

This careful and continuous monitoring of the report explains why Sens. Byron Dorgan, Dick Durbin and John Kerry took the highly unusual step earlier this year of trying to slip into an Iraq-war spending bill an amendment to suppress every word of the Barrett report. (Every other independent counsel finding has been printed in its entirety, with the exception of small sections containing classified material.)

Alert Republicans, pushed by talk-radio listeners and bloggers, managed to short-circuit that effort, but Democrats patiently pursued their goal. They got what they wanted recently, when the House and Senate met to iron out differences in yet another appropriations bill. Democrats inserted language that would prevent public release of the 120 pages of the report listing the Clinton transgressions. They offered what may have looked like a good deal. They promised not to object to letting Barrett continue with any prosecutions already underway.

Republicans negotiators, led by Sen. Kit Bond, R-Mo., and Rep. Joe Knollenberg, R-Mich, took the bait. They agreed to keep the public in the dark about the important stuff in exchange for a big, fat nothing.

Except the bait was merely a cover meant to appease the hoodwinked Republican grassroots. For whatever reason, it’s becoming ever more clear that Hillary is the Anointed One, (much like George Bush was in 1998 – I never doubted for a second that he’d win the nomination and the presidency), which is why Republicans will put up a sacrificial lamb against her in 2008.

The Republican leadership will force Republicans to choose between a Mormon and a liberal, stamp hard on any grass roots support for a genuine conservative and thus suppress their turnout enough to allow a newly “moderate” Hillary Rodham, with a newfound respect for the American military and the borders, to squeak by.

These are early days and it’s entirely possible that I’m wrong. But that’s what I expect, anyhow. I note that the refurbishing of Ms Rodham Clinton is going pretty much as I described a few months ago.

As for sacrificial lambs, they couldn’t make it much more obvious than selecting a Massachusetts politician. Northeast liberals can’t even win presidential elections as Democrats. About the only thing the Republican leadership could do to make it more obvious that they intend to throw the election – short of digging up the corpse of Bob Dole and running it again – is nominating a gay black Muslim.

Batting .000 for 30,000:

It’s a far piece from the horse-and-buggies of Lancaster County, Pa., to the cars and freeways of Cook County, Ill. But thousands of children cared for by Homefirst Health Services in metropolitan Chicago have at least two things in common with thousands of Amish children in rural Lancaster: They have never been vaccinated. And they don’t have autism.

“We have a fairly large practice. We have about 30,000 or 35,000 children that we’ve taken care of over the years, and I don’t think we have a single case of autism in children delivered by us who never received vaccines,” said Dr. Mayer Eisenstein, Homefirst’s medical director who founded the practice in 1973. Homefirst doctors have delivered more than 15,000 babies at home, and thousands of them have never been vaccinated.

The few autistic children Homefirst sees were vaccinated before their families became patients, Eisenstein said. “I can think of two or three autistic children who we’ve delivered their mother’s next baby, and we aren’t really totally taking care of that child — they have special care needs. But they bring the younger children to us. I don’t have a single case that I can think of that wasn’t vaccinated.”

The autism rate in Illinois public schools is 38 per 10,000, according to state Education Department data; the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention puts the national rate of autism spectrum disorders at 1 in 166 — 60 per 10,000.

“We do have enough of a sample,” Eisenstein said. “The numbers are too large to not see it. We would absolutely know. We’re all family doctors. If I have a child with autism come in, there’s no communication. It’s frightening. You can’t touch them. It’s not something that anyone would miss.”

I’ve long been anti-vaccine for two reasons. First, because there would be no need for Congress to have passed a law protecting those manufacturing and administering vaccines from being sued if they were genuinely harmless. Second, because of the rise of autism and other childhood problems which correlate with the increase in the insane US vaccine schedule.

Now, a second large group of unvaccinated children has been shown to be free of the very issues which the vaccine advocates claim cannot be caused by vaccines. The vaccine-free practice is somehow missing the 114 autistic children that the Illinois Education Department’s statistics would predict, so it’s clear that someone cannnot telling the truth here; Occam’s Razor strongly suggests is that it is the side which is dependent upon selling and administering vaccines to maintain an important revenue stream.

The official website of Washington State Democrats sold magnetic car stickers of the Christian fish symbol and cross emblazoned with the word “hypocrite” on a background of hellish flames. The item was removed about mid-day yesterday after a weblog took note, calling it an example of Democrat Party hostility toward religious believers, especially Christians.

This is an intriguing political strategy, in a quasi-democratic nation where a significant majority consider themselves to be Christians. Democrats like to consider themselves the more intellectual party… and yet they’re so demonstrably and predictably stupid, they’d probably find themselves using a pig as their political symbol in an Islamic country.

Being a demagogue must be tremendously annoying. Sure, it makes it easy to attract a large following. On the other hand, all you end up having to work with are idiots, imbeciles and lunatics.

This year’s Globe noms highlight a year in which lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender characters played major roles in crossover titles. “Brokeback Mountain,” “Breakfast on Pluto,” “Capote” and even “The Producers” put gay characters front and center.

Meanwhile:

Ticket sale revenues dropped five percent in the first 11 months of 2005 while the number of Americans going to the cinema fell by 6.2 percent compared with the same period in 2004, according to box office trackers Exhibitor Relations Co Inc.

The result is Tinseltown’s most disappointing box office performance in 15 years as audiences, dazzled by their entertainment choices and disappointed by the mediocre films on offer, turned away from the cinema in droves.

Gays have killed off Broadway, now they’ve set their sights on Hollywood. Actually, this is only a small part of the problem. The larger issue is the fact that most movies these days are boring drivel because directors would rather consider themselves artistes or members of the avante garde shocking the boobeoisie than storytellers. But it the juxstaposition of the two articles on Drudge was humorous.

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad proves it:

“If somebody in their country questions God, nobody says anything, but if somebody criticises the myth of the massacre of Jew, the Zionist loudspeakers and the governments in the pay of Zionism will start to scream,” he said.

It’s difficult to argue with the Iranian President on that one, especially considering how you will find yourself in jail in many European countries should you dare to even question the Worstest, Mostest Terriblest Evil Past, Present or Future. Can you even imagine how the world media would go completely and utterly frothing-at-the-mouth insane if the Belgians started jailing people for denying the existence of God or questioning the Resurrection of Jesus Christ?

The Holocaust is no myth; that the Endloesung was enacted and that Jews were slaughtered en masse by the National Socialists and their puppet governments, I have no doubt. But I have to admit, I’ve never seen a single piece of evidence for the 6 million figure, which seems strange to me given the German predilection for copious record-keeping. According to Robert Wistrich’s Hitler and the Holocaust, France had the largest Jewish population in Western Europe, 195,000; this would seem to conflict with his earlier statement that there were 500,000 Jews in pre-war Germany. Wistrich reports enough Jews to make up the difference in Poland and the Soviet Union, 6.5 million in all according to him, but one would think that the German death camp records would be much more trustworthy than those belonging to the fragmented and twice-conquered Poles or the secretive Soviets. Perhaps the death camp records do show this; I don’t know, never having reviewed them or having read anyone who has.

Given that the National Socialists had killed 90,000 ethnic Germans with disabilities as a warmup to the 1941 Final Solution, the Judeocentric Holocaust version that is generally taught seems to somewhat miss the point of National Socialist evil, and even could be seen to excuse aspects of it while simultaneously lessening by comparison the evil of other, more lethal historical butchers.

To argue that the Holocaust was particularly evil because it targeted Jews is to argue that human beings are of variable worth; this notion is ironically harmonious with the National Socialist concept of Aryan supremacy, one is merely quibbling over the appropriate values to assign the variables. The Holocaust was not the first attempt to exterminate an ethnic group – see the Arminians in Turkey – nor the first attempt to exterminate a religion – see Nero.

All that being said, it can’t be a good sign that this gentleman is likely to have nuclear-tipped missiles at his command in the near future. The problem with his relocation idea, of course, is that with French and Dutch Muslims doing their best to set up a Parisian caliphate, moving Israel to Europe is simply recreating the original problem.
