Todd Kincannon · @ToddKincannon Had dinner with a political operative friend last night. He said “I had no idea that all it took to win was to call Democrats and media worthless pieces of shit all the time. I thought you had to be reasonably nice. Trump has shown me the light. Fuck the Left.”
This is an exact quote.
It’s called “the art of rhetoric”. See Chapter 10 of SJWs Always Lie.
Left-wingers will only change their minds if they experience enough emotional pain to provoke the desire to avoid it. They are entirely irrational; the more intelligent they are, the more highly developed their facility for rationalizing away any logical inconsistencies is. And that’s why those on the Left are always calling people on the Right stupid, racist, and so on, because they are attempting to convince us by inflicting emotional pain and triggering aversive reactions. It may sound like insults, but in reality, that is how the Left makes converts.
Of course, their understanding of dialectic speakers is as poor as the average dialecticals understanding of rhetoricals. It really shocks them when their name-calling has no effect. In fact, that is a good way to discern a right-wing rhetorical; the more they are affected by name-calling, the more they are rhetorically minded despite their protestations.
This new immigration policy is one of the first Obama policies with which I’ve ever agreed:
President Barack Obama is ending a longstanding immigration policy that allows any Cuban who makes it to U.S. soil to stay and become a legal resident, a senior administration official said Thursday.
The repeal of the “wet foot, dry foot” policy is effective immediately, according the official. The decision follows months of negotiations focused in part on getting Cuba to agree to take back people who had arrived in the U.S.
It was always a stupid and irresponsible policy. Cubans aren’t Americans, they’re one-issue foreign nationals who have ceaselessly attempted to embroil the USA in policies that are not in the national interest, and none of them should have been given residence, let alone citizenship, in the first place.
Since October 2012, more than 118,000 Cubans have presented themselves at ports of entry along the border, according to statistics published by the Homeland Security Department. During the 2016 budget year, which ended in September, a five-year high of more than 41,500 people came through the southern border. An additional 7,000 people arrived between October and November.
Permitting Cubans to immigrate to the USA was far more harmful to Americans than simply invading and overthrowing Castro would have been. It was a cowardly half-step, and disastrous, like most policies based on virtue-signaling.
The Anne Frank Center for Mutual Respect and the ADL demand a retraction and apology from Foz Meadows and the editor of Amazing Stories for insulting Holocaust survivors.
The Anne Frank Center for Mutual Respect has demanded apologies from Foz Meadows and Steve Davidson, the editor of Amazing Stories, after Meadows called author Vox Day “an actual neo-Nazi” in an article posted on the Amazing Stories web site.
Steven Goldstein, the executive director of the center, called it a “despicable insult to Holocaust survivors” and said Ms Meadows must retract her false claim and “apologize to survivors and to our entire nation.” The organization was established in 1959 by Frank’s father Otto Frank, whose vision was to “build a world based on equal rights and mutual respect.”
Jonathan Greenblatt of the Anti-Defamation League also called it “an inappropriate comparison”.
It really is a tremendous insult to those who died in the Holocaust. So terrible. I’m not offended on my own behalf, since the defamation is so obviously untrue, but on theirs. I can only hope Ms Meadows and Mr. Davidson will have the decency to apologize sooner rather than later.
“After much deliberation, I have made the decision to relocate the Chargers to Los Angeles, beginning with the 2017 NFL season. San Diego has been our home for 56 years. It will always be part of our identity, and my family and I have nothing but gratitude and appreciation for the support and passion our fans have shared with us over the years. But today, we turn the page and begin an exciting new era as the Los Angeles Chargers.
I won’t be surprised if both the Chargers and the Rams leave LA within a decade. The NFL clearly doesn’t understand that its core demographic base is middle-aged white family men, and that the changing US demographics are not working in its favor.
Rejected asylum seekers in Germany’s capital Berlin may be allowed to stay if they have been beaten up by neo-Nazis. Politicians see the offer of asylum as a way of way of sending a ‘strong signal’ to hate crime perpetrators. Berlin’s interior minister Andrea Geisel said the city is looking into the legal possibilities of such an exemption after nearby Brandenburg opted for the scheme.
‘I find an exemption, as Brandenburg has introduced, to be a strong political signal to those who believe that “whoever wants to chase refugees out of the country must attack them”,’ Geisel said.
‘To this I say – no. Whoever is a victim of far-right violence will enjoy our double protection and will not be deported.’
Brandenburg became the first state to declare it would give rejected asylum seekers who had been attacked sanctuary after requesting immigration authorities to use their ‘discretion.’
This demonstrates the unerring ability of the Left to completely fail to foresee the obvious consequences of its actions, which are guaranteed to produce two results:
A huge increase in the number of rejected asylum seekers being beaten up by fake neo-Nazis. What is the price of a little beating at the hands of your fellow immigrants or helpful antifas in exchange for permanent residence?
An increase in the number of dead rejected asylum seekers. This sends a very clear message to the neo-Nazis, and to every other German, that deportation is no longer an option. And if the only choice is between submitting to invasion and killing the invader, the history of Man strongly suggests that people in general, and Germans in particular, will eventually opt for the latter.
I’m sure we’ll all be very impressed when the German Left expresses its customary dismay at its plans going unexpectedly awry.
That is the direct consequence of the liberal assistance the Swedes have been providing the so-called refugees of Syria:
After a pair of Syrian men were taken in as refugees, liberal volunteers helped them open their own business — a Middle Eastern hookah shop. However, as soon as authorities came to inspect the suspicious business, they discovered a stomach-churning surprise in the shop’s basement.
Just when we thought it couldn’t get any worse, Europe’s beacon of liberal policy has been afflicted with yet another shocking crime that’s rocked the nation. Sweden, now considered the “rape capital of the West” due to their inexhaustible resettlement of migrants, has once again watched as their leftist agenda produces another victim of multiculturalism — and it regrettably proves what we’ve predicted about the refugee crisis.
Fria Tider reports that after Swedish police raided a hookah cafe managed by 2 Syrian Muslim refugees, 28-year-old Khaled Azez Hegrs and 23-year-old Tareq Bakkar, they discovered a kidnapped Swedish woman chained in the shop’s basement. The brutalized victim was being kept as their own personal sex slave and had been repeatedly raped and tortured by at least 7 Arab Muslim men.
The horrific revelation provided investigators with proof that the unnamed woman had been kidnapped at gunpoint from Malmo before a group of 4 Muslim asylum seekers transported her by car to the cafe. She was then chained to a water pipe in the basement of the lounge in Helsingborg, where the men repeatedly gang raped her.
Secular liberal representative democracy is nothing more than suicide on a civilizational level. And immigration is the weapon utilized. As bad as they were, it is now readily observable that even the National Socialist and Communist totalitarianisms were better, less immoral, and more sustainable forms of government than secular liberal representative democracy.
As I said a few years ago, by the time this nightmarish absurdity of a historical epoch is over, there will be statues erected to Anders Breivik all across Europe. If that sounds impossible, note that contrary to nearly universal consensus, I correctly predicted that the popularity of nationalist parties would rise in the wake of Breivik’s one-man war waged in defense of his nation.
And as for America, last week’s episode of Timeless dealt with the Alamo. I couldn’t help but think what complete contempt Americans such as Davy Crockett, Jim Bowie, and William Travis would have for the Americans of today, who have blithely permitted 17,000 times more Mexicans to invade their country than the 1,800 the brave men of the Alamo died fighting to stop.
FOR MONTHS, the CIA, with unprecedented clarity, overtly threw its weight behind Hillary Clinton’s candidacy and sought to defeat Donald Trump. In August, former acting CIA Director Michael Morell announced his endorsement of Clinton in the New York Times and claimed that “Mr. Putin had recruited Mr. Trump as an unwitting agent of the Russian Federation.” The CIA and NSA director under George W. Bush, Gen. Michael Hayden, also endorsed Clinton, and went to the Washington Post to warn, in the week before the election, that “Donald Trump really does sound a lot like Vladimir Putin,” adding that Trump is “the useful fool, some naif, manipulated by Moscow, secretly held in contempt, but whose blind support is happily accepted and exploited.”
It is not hard to understand why the CIA preferred Clinton over Trump. Clinton was critical of Obama for restraining the CIA’s proxy war in Syria and was eager to expand that war, while Trump denounced it. Clinton clearly wanted a harder line than Obama took against the CIA’s long-standing foes in Moscow, while Trump wanted improved relations and greater cooperation. In general, Clinton defended and intended to extend the decadeslong international military order on which the CIA and Pentagon’s preeminence depends, while Trump — through a still-uncertain mix of instability and extremist conviction — posed a threat to it.
Whatever one’s views are on those debates, it is the democratic framework — the presidential election, the confirmation process, congressional leaders, judicial proceedings, citizen activism and protest, civil disobedience — that should determine how they are resolved. All of those policy disputes were debated out in the open; the public heard them; and Trump won. Nobody should crave the rule of Deep State overlords.
Yet craving Deep State rule is exactly what prominent Democratic operatives and media figures are doing. Any doubt about that is now dispelled. Just last week, Chuck Schumer issued a warning to Trump, telling Rachel Maddow that Trump was being “really dumb” by challenging the unelected intelligence community because of all the ways they possess to destroy those who dare to stand up to them:
And last night, many Democrats openly embraced and celebrated what was, so plainly, an attempt by the Deep State to sabotage an elected official who had defied it: ironically, its own form of blackmail.
Greenwald warns about what will happen if the Deep State’s claims turn out to be, not only unverified, but false. “Many people will conclude, with Trump’s encouragement, that large media outlets and anti-Trump factions inside the government are deploying “Fake News” to destroy him. In the eyes of many people, that will forever discredit — render impotent — future journalistic exposés that are based on actual, corroborated wrongdoing.”
The example he chose – Trump lawyer Michael Cohen’s trip to Prague – has already been shown to be false. So, what Greenwald should have said is that many people will correctly conclude that the media and the Deep State are utilizing Fake News to attack the God-Emperor Ascendant, and that they are doing so in vain.
Notice, you’re not writing your book to appeal to readers. You’re writing your book to appeal to agents and acquisition’s editors. Naturally, they are looking for product that will sell, but to them it is just product—to you it will be a book written full of compromise…maybe. No matter what, you have to appeal to THEM first before your book hits shelves. And THEY might have very different tastes than you. They live in a different city (probably New York), while you might live in rural Texas. They might have polite sensibilities, while you have vulgar ones. You might find someone who is in alignment with you but as I stated above, there is a 99.9% you won’t. You have to appeal to THEM before your book even makes it to the press.
In short, it’s a road filled with compromise. You’re going to write thinking about THEM, appealing to THEIR tastes, hoping they align with yours. While you write, you might question certain passages, lines that may be too politically incorrect, or just too offensive for someone who might dine at Per Se every now and then. You might change character arcs around, change the villains, modify complete dialogue exchanges, not to please the reader at home who is reading your work to get their mind off of their dick boss—no you’re modifying your work to please THEM.
The only reason most people publish with a publisher is a) validation or b) market reach. And of the two, it’s only the latter that matters. The problem, of course, is that the publishers who provide the greatest market reach also take the much larger portion of the revenues, and worse, have absolutely no loyalty to their authors, and even worse, are strongly inclined to thought-police them.
No one knows the risks of that better than Castalia House author Nick Cole as he considers the importance of a platform in light of the independent ones Stefan Molyneux and I have constructed with a little help from our friends:
Neither of these people are at the mercy of a big publisher, as I once was. So… If some petty little corporate thug decides he/she doesn’t like Vox’s opinion about something they have no ability to silence Vox. Vox maintains his own website and blogs heavily from it. Same with Molyneaux. I think Molyneaux once mentioned he’d sold over a hundred thousand books through his website. Wow! He’s even cutting Amazon out of the picture and keeping all the money for himself.
Thus proving to the rest of us if you build your own platform you can weather the storms of corporate social justice shenanigans/intrigues/nepotism and connect directly to your audience to sell your product.
So no matter what happens in these times of faux moral outrage and someone demanding someone we don’t like must be silenced because they’re “Hitler,” these two can still directly connect with their audience and sell some books. And laugh all the way to the bank.
Here’s what you need to know to do the same thing. It’s easy. In fact, it’s never been easier.
Blog regularly. Six days a week. Say something. Anything. Even repost someone’s article (like this one) and add a comment to get readers interested and sharing the post even if it’s not yours. People who click on it will land on your website and they might get interested in your books. Stop going on Facebook and giving them free content by just posting stuff. Take the time to write a blog post from your own website and then post it to Facebook.
Do this faithfully and start connecting with your readers regularly. In time you’ll build an audience that will be yours and not some SJW media mogul’s who might decide to blacklist you because you think DNA determines gender. Or global warming is a big lie. Or civil rights is just a con game some crooks are using to stay in power. Or Gwyneth Paltrow’s latest film sucks. Whatever. Build your own platform.
Nick is one of the Castalia authors who will be building his platform at the Castalia House blog. What I would add to his advice is to consistently work to build up others, not merely yourself. There is a virtuous circle effect that the Left has historically been much better at utilizing than the Right, which is much more inclined to purity-spirals.
But we’re learning and we’re improving constantly. And that’s why we’re winning.
The Fake News Showergate saga just keeps getting better. Now McCain and Carl Bernstein are involved.
Sworn Donald Trump enemy John McCain admitted Wednesday that he passed the dossier of claims of a Russian blackmail plot against the president-elect. The Arizona senator issued a public statement amid mounting questions of his exact role in the affair – and how a document riddled with errors and unverifiable claims came to be published.
‘Late last year, I received sensitive information that has since been made public,’ he said. ‘Upon examination of the contents, and unable to make a judgment about their accuracy, I delivered the information to the Director of the FBI.’
The chain of how the document reached the FBI is not officially known. However Carl Bernstein, the Watergate reporter who contributed to the first story about its existence, published by CNN on Tuesday afternoon, suggested that McCain was handed it by a former British ambassador to Moscow.
Bernstein told CNN: ‘It came from a former British MI6 agent who was hired from a political opposition research firm in Washington who was doing work about Donald Trump for both republican and democratic candidates opposed to Trump.
‘They were looking at Trumps business ties, they saw some questionable things about Russians, about his businesses in Russia, they in turn hired this MI6 former investigator, he then came up with additional information from his Russian sources, he was very concerned by the implications of it, he then took it to an FBI colleague that he had known in his undercover work for years, he took it to this FBI man in Rome who turned it over to the bureau in Washington in August.
‘And then, a former British ambassador to Russia independently was made aware of these findings and he took the information to John McCain – Senator John McCain of Arizona – in the period just after the election, and showed it to McCain – additional findings.
‘McCain was sufficiently disturbed by what he read to take it to FBI director James Comey himself personally, they had a five minute meeting the two men, very little was said, McCain turned it over to him and is now awaiting what the FBI’s response is to that information.’
The identity of the former British ambassador has not been disclosed.
Only one former British ambassador to Washington remains in UK government service, Sir Tim Barrow, who went on to be Foreign Office political director and is now Britain’s ambassador to the European Union.
Obama was a terrible president. No doubt about it. Dreadful. But it really does appear that McCain would have been considerably worse. Anyhow, by the time this is over, I won’t be surprised if Lee Harvey Oswald, Madonna, and Woodstock all somehow factor in.
Meanwhile, the God-Emperor Ascendant himself is giving a press conference that will presumably address this. He’s every bit as combative as during the campaign; now he’s talking about the DNC vulnerability to hackers and “the horrible things” that John Podesta said about Hillary.
The media is addressing him as “Mr. President-Elect”. Feels good. HOLY CATS! He just announced that both the President and the Vice-President are NOT governed by conflict-of-interest laws and has been for several administrations.
I don’t think the media is ready for this level of openness.
“I am not going to give you a question. You are fake news” – President-Elect Donald Trump to CNN
This is what EIGHT YEARS OF WINNING is going to look like.
Some U.S. companies are reviewing potential mergers while others are rethinking job cuts or looking at their manufacturing operations in China for fear of being cast as “anti-American” by President-elect Donald Trump, according to Wall Street bankers, company executives and crisis management consultants.
Having seen some of America’s largest companies, including General Motors Co, Lockheed Martin Corp and United Technologies Corp, bluntly and publicly rebuked by Trump on Twitter, many others are worried they may be his next target – especially if they have significant overseas manufacturing, have had U.S. job cuts or price increases for consumers.
“Any business that leaves our country for another country, fires its employees, builds a new factory or plant in the other country, and then thinks it will sell its product back into the U.S. without retribution or consequence is WRONG!” Trump, who assumes office on Jan. 20, tweeted in December.
Trump campaigned on an “America First” anti-globalization platform that promised the return of thousands of U.S. manufacturing jobs to economically depressed areas.
That nationalist rhetoric and Trump’s willingness to use his Twitter account as a cudgel has so rattled some companies that they are putting on hold mergers and acquisitions that may involve significant job cuts or moving production or tax domicile abroad, out of fear that such deals could be seen as “unpatriotic”, several top Wall Street bankers said.
This is excellent news. It also shows how perilously thin the corporate case for free trade is.
