Do or Don’t Do

But never, ever, talk about it.

Thomas Massie says he will publicly reveal Epstein’s client list if the Trump administration refuses to do so in two weeks.

Two weeks. Is that an actual joke? Threats are for weak people who aren’t willing to do what they are saying they are going to do. If there is one thing I’ve learned over the years, it is that “threats” and “warnings” are totally pointless.

People simply don’t fear consequences they don’t believe they’re going to face and they don’t anticipate consequences on the basis of failing to comply with a warning. Every public warning I’ve ever seen, from “when the Saxon began to hate” to “try that in a small town” to “don’t mess with Texas” has proven to be nothing more than empty words.

Act, or don’t act. In either case, spare the rest of us your posturings.
