Not a bad weekend this time, even if I managed to sit another big scorer for the third week in a row. This time it was Crumpler, who naturally broke out for his first 3-TD game ever. And I finally broke my duck in both THE MOST PRESTIGIOUS LEAGUE IN SPORTS and the soccer team, getting a win courtesy of the Arizona defense and a goal courtesy of a less-incompetent-than-usual first touch on a rebound from the crossbar.
I thought that would be winning goal, as it put us in the lead and we’d been dominating the game throughout. Unfortunately, we then gave up two penalty kicks – they scored one – and then beat us on penalties. It was just a cup game, so it’s actually kind of a relief to not have to play two games a week considering how many of our players have already broken down, but it was disappointing nevertheless.
