Torturing vibrants

Good intentions or not, that’s what collegiate affirmative action does:

Mismatch theory, most recently expounded by Richard Sander and Stuart Taylor, is the most powerful critique of affirmative action yet developed, demonstrating empirically that students admitted to academic environments for which they are ill prepared learn less, and are less likely to pursue rigorous majors, than had they been enrolled in schools where their peers shared their level of academic preparation.

But the Times story conveys a subtler point as well: Racial preferences are not just ill advised, they are positively sadistic. Only the preening self-regard of University of California administrators and faculty is served by such an admissions travesty. Preference practitioners are willing to set their “beneficiaries” up to fail and to subject them to possible emotional distress, simply so that the preference dispensers can look out upon their “diverse” realm and know that they are morally superior to the rest of society.

It’s really quite ugly.  I saw this sort of thing with regards to around one-third of my black teammates.  Some were perfectly qualified for the university’s academics and did well, others probably should have been somewhere that covered material at a slower pace.  But there were some who shouldn’t have been permitted within ten miles of the campus, as they had absolutely no business being there and it was immediately obvious to everyone who tried to help them.

“His writing often didn’t make sense. He struggled to
comprehend the readings for [College Writing] and think critically about
the text….. ‘He would revise his papers and each
time he would turn his work back in having complicated it. The paper
would be full of words he thought were academic, writing the way he
thought a college student should write, using big words he didn’t have
command of.'”

There is nothing more obvious, or pathetic, than a five-cent mind attempting to make use of a fifty-cent word. The problem is that this sort of “assistance” will probably not be abandoned so long as the official mantra remains “education is the answer”.  The idea that many individuals are simply ineducable beyond certain levels is just too frightening to be contemplated by everyone who subscribes to the mantra.

The Wrong Guy Game

Given the inability of the low-IQ set to learn from the mistakes of others, it would appear that there are going to be more and more Trayvons and DeAndres as time goes on:

DeAndre was part of a pattern of hundreds of examples of black mob violence documented in more than 80 cities revealed in “White Girl Bleed a Lot: The return of racial violence and how the media ignore it.”

DeAndre knew The Knockout Game was usually pretty safe. For the attacker, that is. In Meriden, victims aren’t likely to carry concealed weapons. Nor do they fight back: As one player said in Philadelphia as his victim begged for mercy: “It’s not our fault you can’t fight.”

So when DeAndre and his gang of eight to 10 left the parking lot in a Meriden mall just a few weeks ago – soon after the park beat-down – he was confident little could go wrong when he told his friends he wanted to “beat someone up.”

They found their victim a few minutes later. Soon DeAndre and his confederate, Deshaun Jones, were peeling off from the group, heading for a guy walking home from work. Alone.

We don’t know his name or race or much else about him other than this: He was The Wrong Guy.

With their friends lurking less than 100 yards away, DeAndre and Deshaun attacked The Wrong Guy. Then came the surprise: The Wrong Guy fought back. He pulled a knife. Soon DeAndre was dead, and Deshaun was on his way to the emergency room.

Feral vibrants are cowardly pack animals, which is why they only attack in numbers.  But their Knockout Game, or Polar Bear Hunting, or whatever overly dramatic name the media gives the activity, suggests the possibility of the existence of another, even more dangerous sport: The Wrong Guy Game.  Now, it is quite likely that in this case, The Wrong Guy was simply an average white man walking home alone from work, not looking for any trouble, but prepared for it.

But I wonder. If one was a violent sociopath with sufficiently light skin to attract this sort of attention, what better way to legally unleash one’s less civilized instincts than to just happen to take the occasional stroll at night through a neighborhood where these sort of attacks are known to happen? If I was a parent of one of these “black angels”, I would point out to my little angel that with 8 million conceal-carry permits issued across America, there is close to a six percent chance that the seemingly helpless Polar Bear is more than capable of ripping your head off.

As Instapundit points out: “And if your teenager gets shot while carrying out this kind of assault? He
deserved it, and you’re a bad parent for not raising him better. Don’t
complain about the gun laws. Hide your face in shame.”

Vet killed by Vibrant America

What presently passes for the USA is observably no longer the nation for which Mr. Belton fought:

WWII veteran Delbert Belton survived being wounded in action during the Battle of Okinawa only to be beaten and left for dead by two teens at the Eagles Lodge in Spokane on Wednesday evening. Belton, 88, succumbed to his injuries Thursday morning at Sacred Heart Medical Center.

Witnesses say Belton was in the parking lot of the Eagles Lodge at 6410 N. Lidgerwood, adjacent to the Eagles Ice-A-Rena, around 8 p.m. Wednesday when the two male suspects attacked him as he was about to head inside to play pool.

Spokane police are looking for two male suspects in the attack. They
said the suspects are African Americans between 16 and 19 years old. One
suspect was described as heavy set and wearing all black clothing. The
other was described as being about 6 feet tall and 150 pounds.

It increasingly appears as if the two choices facing America are peaceful segregation or ethnic violence and civil war.  Contra the expectations of the multicultis and the anti-racists, the vibrant community is becoming less civilized as they become more numerous.  The civil rights vision has failed and appeasement clearly works no better with vibrants than it did with Nazis.

Those who babble interminably about racism and equality are no more relevant to the practical discussion of what should be done than the disarmament activists were after the invasion of Czechoslovakia.  Let reason be silent when experience gainsays its conclusions. No one needs to understand what inspires young vibrants to commit these acts of unprovoked and murderous violence in order to render it impossible for them to do so in the future.

The only real question is how much of this violence white, Hispanic, and Asian Americans are willing to tolerate before they finally put an end to it. It is observably worse than it was in 2009, when it was reported “Blacks are 39 times more likely to commit a violent crime against whites then vice versa…. Forty-five percent of black crime is against whites, 43 against other blacks, and 10 percent against Hispanic.”

Is it possible that I am wrong and contra both my observations and historical patterns that can be observed throughout the entire written record of Man, the USA is not going to be riven by ethnic strife, but is instead on the verge of transforming itself into a glorious and peaceful multi-ethnic utopia?  Theoretically, I suppose.  But the probabilities of such an outcome are not high.

Anti-racism in action

NK Jemison on the dangers posed to vibrant Americans by Australians:

“My father was afraid for me to come to Australia. He mostly made jokes about it — “Good, you’ve got dredlocks, maybe
they won’t think you’re Chinese”, stuff like that. But I know my
father, and I know when the jokes have a serious undercurrent. Now,
mind you, I travel alone all the time, and I’m not always traveling to
places that are friendly to Americans, or women, or black people…. I say all this so you will understand the context of my father’s fear, when I told him I was going to Australia.”

The Associated Press on the dangers posed to Australians by vibrant Americans:

Two Oklahoma teens have been charged with first-degree murder in the
fatal shooting of an Australian baseball player, while a third player
has been named as an accessory. Christopher Lane was out for a
jog in an Oklahoma neighborhood when he was shot and killed by three
“bored” teenagers who decided to kill someone for fun, police said.

How many innocent people have to die, murdered by vibrant Americans, before the non-vibrant stop trying to convince themselves that race does not exist, that all human sub-species behave exactly the same, and that forced desegregation is of material benefit to society?

These murders and white-beatings by feral vibrants are not an accident.  They are anti-racism in action. This particular case also demonstrates how the Obama administration’s new vibrant dispersal plan is likely to have more negative consequences than most people think, as one Market Ticker commenter observes:

“Duncan, OK, according to Wiki, had a population of 22,505 as of the 2000
census, of which just 1.07% were black. So there were a grand total of
just over 225 blacks in the entire town, and here’s 3 of them just up
& shooting someone for kicks.” 

John Derbyshire was right.

Mailvox: answering a simple question

Will Shetterly poses questions for me and for NK Jemisin. I don’t know if she will see fit to answer him, but I certainly don’t mind doing so:

What do you want, besides book sales? You both have strongly-held beliefs, Critical Race Theory and Human Biodiversity, but you’re both silent about the practical application of those beliefs.

Vox Day, you say:

“I have repeatedly pointed out that the existence of different human
sub-species and/or races does not make those different sub-species
and/or races any less validly human. A dog is a dog whether it is a
Bichon Frise or a Great Dane. A man is a man whether he is Yoruba or
Prussian. My basic argument on race and civilization can be most
accurately summarized as the observation that if you wish to pull a
sled, you would be well advised to select Siberian huskies rather than
chihuahuas or pit bulls.”

If people with your beliefs were in power, what changes would there be?
Legal segregation of the races as you understand them? A ban on
miscegenation? Breeding programs to increase the virtues you see in the
different human races, stronger blacks and smarter Asians to serve the
more “alpha” whites?

Let me first point out something that many people fail to keep in mind when they are occupied with being offended at something I have said. I am a libertarian, so it should always be kept in mind that I am intrinsically skeptical of the idea that government can be effectively utilized to solve most societal problems, or even avoid making them worse, regardless of how serious we all agree those problems happen to be.  The fact that I point to something as being a problem should NEVER be taken as an implicit suggestion that the solution can be found in government action.

With regards to race, I would be more than content to see the U.S. federal government and other governments across the West firmly respect the right to self-determination, the right to free speech, and the right to freedom of economic association on the part of individual, as well as the political sovereignty of the several States.

This would likely lead to legal segregation in some states, most likely beginning, ironically enough, with the States where Hispanics are expected to soon be the majority. In most of the rest, I expect a return to Constitutional federalism and the concept of democratic laboratories would merely lead to bans on enforced desegregation and government violations of the freedom of association; history indicates that people have a tendency to naturally segregate as that is how most of the various population groups were formed in the first place.

I do not support bans on miscegenation nor do I believe they would be required in any environment that permitted genuine freedom of speech and association. Despite being inundated with heavy doses of pro-miscegenation and pro-equalitarian propaganda in the media, relatively few women of any race have shown themselves to be open to sexual involvement with men of other races.

Being an anti-eugenicist, I do not support breeding programs of any kind, especially not government-sponsored programs.

As for the idea of stronger blacks and smarter Asians serving whites, that could not be further from my own position on ideal interracial relations. My belief is that every population group, every human sub-species, every nation, is better served by furthering a homogeneous group interest.  To put it crudely, whites would do well to pick their own cotton and count their own money, blacks would do well to build their own power stations and grow their own crops, and yellows would do well to develop their own technologies and establish their own university systems. Let Israel be Israel and let Myanmar be Myanmar.

Inter-societal communication and assistance is a good thing, so long as it is the sort that involves teaching men to fish and not fishing for them… and if the fishermen are left alone to deal with the consequences of their catch. Trade is generally good. Information exchange is generally good. Even immigration can beneficial in small and limited doses. But the benefits of moderation does not extend to the extremes. For example, trade can benefit both sides, but truly free trade will inevitably destroy the more prosperous side.

It should be noted that the consequences of mass migration are all but indistinguishable from the effects of invasion and occupation, and multi-ethnic societies have shown a strong historical tendency to collapse amidst vicious ethnic violence. No one who recalls the intra-black violence in Rwanda, the intra-white violence in Yugoslavia, or the intra-yellow violence in Vietnam should be misled into thinking that expanding the range of population heterogeneousity is going to alleviate, rather than exacerbate, the eventual inter-ethnic violence.  Ms Jemisin may be more right than she knows about how everyone will eventually be forced to take a side, whether they want to or not.

I understand that three generations of Americans who have been raised to venerate the Civil Rights movement will find it hard, if not impossible, to grasp that history may ultimately prove to be firmly on the side of those they have always believed to be monsters of bigotry. But if what logic suggests is the most probable outcome indeed comes to pass, I suspect that forced segregation and non-violent ethnic cleansing will be the best case scenario in consequence of the damnable social engineering of the grand multicultural experiment that began in 1965.

It may already be too late for a peaceful return to historical segregation patterns. But if history is an even remotely reliable guide, the West will return to them one way or another. And keep in mind that my expectations of the future have nothing whatsoever to do with my personal preferences, any more than I wanted to see the global financial system seize up when I predicted the 2008 economic crisis six years before it happened.

There is a flaw in someone’s assumptions. The error may be on my part. But based on the known historical patterns as well as the way in which increased integration throughout the West has observably increased racial tensions rather than eliminating them as the multiculturalists so confidently asserted, I very much doubt it.

So, to answer the original question, what do I want? I want to preserve the greatest, most advanced, and most humane civilization the human race has ever known. I want the West to avoid descending into violence and chaos on a scale that will threaten to end our advanced civilization as we know it. And I believe continued mass migration, forced desegregation, reconciliation, government intervention, and racial integration only serve to increase the likelihood of a nightmarish scenario taking place.

End raciss, ban clowns

Apparently clowns are no longer permitted to mock certain sacred personages in the Land of the Formerly Free:

The fallout from a Missouri rodeo clown’s mockery of President Obama continued as the Missouri State Fair said it will force all clowns to undergo sensitivity training and the head of the state rodeo-clown organization resigned. The state fair commission voted Monday to ratify its decision to ban for life the clown in question who wore an Obama mask….

But the state commission went further Monday, saying it will require that before the Missouri Rodeo Cowboy Association can take part in any future state fair, “they must provide evidence to the director of the Missouri State Fair that they have proof that all officials and subcontractors of the MRCA have successfully participated in sensitivity training.”

When Robert Heinlein wrote of the Crazy Years, he little knew how right he would one day be.  The insane thing is that clowns are being sent to insensitivity training for fear of their antics stoking white racism, meanwhile, “juveniles and young adults” of some mysterious and unidentifiable race are beating the hell out of clueless white liberals in Ramsey County about 15 minutes from where I used to live.

The victim, Ray Widstrand, 26, of St. Paul, reportedly was in critical condition at Regions Hospital with potentially fatal brain swelling. Police found Widstrand lying on the ground, bleeding from his nose and mouth, his pants removed and shirt torn, according to a criminal complaint filed by the Ramsey County attorney’s office…. According to the complaint, Widstrand was attacked when he tried to walk through a group of 30 to 50 juveniles and young adults fighting near Payne and Minnehaha avenues in the Payne-Phalen neighborhood about 11:30 p.m. Sunday.

Providing every clown in the country with sensitivity training is not going to blind whites, Hispanics, and Asians to the fact that “juveniles and young adults” of some mysterious and unidentifiable race are attacking and killing whites all over the country because they hate them.  Desegregation is a complete and utter failure, and if legal segregation is not permitted, the historical solution of popular violence will be inevitable, with Hispanics leading the way.

I suspect the main reason it hasn’t started yet is that the only whites dumb enough to put themselves in a position to be harmed by these feral packs of vibrant juveniles and diverse young adults of the sort pictured above tend to either be homeless or come from liberal families.  There are millions of families in the USA whose response to a child being attacked and murdered would not be the feeble confusion expressed by Ray Widstrand’s father.

“I can’t imagine why someone would do this to another person.”

No, obviously he can’t.  And that’s precisely why his son is now lying half-dead at Regions Hospital. Every father should have the Derbyshire Talk with his children. It might be a lifesaver.

The unexpected winners in the cultural war

It’s not the Moral Majority. It’s not the godless progressives. It’s not even the Rainbow Coalition.

It’s the Hispanics:

This summer, there’s a new No. 1 among television viewers aged 18 to 49:
For the fourth week in a row, the Spanish-language network Univision
has won the primetime ratings contest for this coveted demographic, as
well as the 18 to 34 cohort. It’s Univision’s first top finish in a
sweeps month; the network previously beat NBC to come in fourth in the
critical February sweeps period.

One thing that has become obvious to me about the monoracial is that many of them simply cannot conceive of the notion that the genuinely multiracial might not look on every aspect of their own racial heritages with equal favor.  Just as constant long-term exposure to vibrancy tends to produce the most virulent racists, close and personal experience with family cultures tends to produce opinions about those cultures that are extremely well-informed, if not necessarily viewed with approval by those who are considerably less informed on the matter.

In other words, if there is a channel that is going to broadcast “Ow My Balls”, Univision is a considerably more likely candidate than PBS.

The people in your neighborhood

If your neighborhood is insufficiently vibrant, Obama has a plan to fix that:

In a move some claim is tantamount to social engineering, the
Department of Housing and Urban Development is imposing a new rule that
would allow the feds to track diversity in America’s neighborhoods and
then push policies to change those it deems discriminatory.

The policy is called, “Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing.” It
will require HUD to gather data on segregation and discrimination in
every single neighborhood and try to remedy it. HUD Secretary Shaun Donovan unveiled the federal rule at the NAACP convention in July.

“Unfortunately, in too many of our hardest hit communities, no matter
how hard a child or her parents work, the life chances of that child,
even her lifespan, is determined by the zip code she grows up in. This
is simply wrong,” he said. Data from this discrimination database would be used with zoning
laws, housing finance policy, infrastructure planning and transportation
to alleviate alleged discrimination and segregation.

I think this is what one calls “a clarifying moment”.  It will be interesting to see how long it takes for “anti-racists” to change their position once they are forced to actually live in close exposure to vibrancy.

This should work about as well as busing did in the 1970s.

I agree completely and deeply respect what you’re doing in this post
overall. Because of that, may I please suggest that you rethink your use
of the phrase “tarred by association”? There are some problematic
connotations there. Thanks very much.

Had a quick and interesting Twitter chat about it, and did a little reading at http://www.worldwidewords.org/qa/qa-tar1.htm. I did go ahead and change that phrase, though. I like the new version better anyway
To which Mr. Williamson responded on the subject of privilege and the discriminatory bias of handism:
There’s one minority still not given proper respect in language: Left handers. The term “sinister” is still used as an epithet for evil, wrong, unpleasant. Likewise, “gauche” is a reference to rude behavior.  People are considered “dextrous” if they have good manual skills.

Why are the negative connotations expressed using references to left handedness, and positive connotations reserved for the right?

Writers, especially in fantasy, usually right-handed, should stop using these prejudicial terms and find terms that are non-handed specific.

This is a worldwide issue.  Only about 15% of the population are left handed…. I’m sure most people have never thought of this.  They have right-handed privilege, in a world that caters to them.

I’m sure some will dismiss this as a non-issue.  I challenge them to go into a store and ask for every household good in a left-handed model.  If the store has any, they will have a token one or two of each, not the dozens or hundreds of right handed options.  Buy them.  Go home and use them in your right hand so you’re using them backward. That’s what it’s like for left handed people every day of our lives.

Politically, I’ve seen conservatives refer to the political right being “correct” and the political left being “wrong.”

Then crack open a book and find the bad guy is “sinister” and the clueless guy is “gauche.”  Gee, thanks for that.

“Right” is an acknowledgment of correctness.  One gets “left behind.”
I expect there are a number of fantasy writers who are major offenders on this.  But if they’re taking steps with racially, culturally, gender and religiously sensitive terms, it would be fair to not use terms derogatory to the left handed minority as well.

This moving missive has truly opened my eyes to my right-handed privilege.  Was it an accident that the handist and racist Ursula le Guin asserted it was the LEFT hand that was DARK?  Was it a coincidence that the handist and religious bigot Jerry Jenkins related the LEFT to the body part most associated with ordure, the BEHIND?  Truly, the evil is rife within the genre! I can only abase myself and hope Mr. Williamson will accept my humble apologies for my thoughtless handism.  I henceforth pledge to do my level best to excise this shameful scourge of handist privilege from science fiction, fantasy, and speculative fiction.

A view on black crime and white decline

In which I ask Huggums for his opinion about the observation that blacks have higher crime rates in a wide sampling of societies:

What is your currently preferred theory for higher black crime rates? You
know mine is a combination of genetic and cultural factors leading to
lower average time preferences, I’m just interested in knowing what
yours happens to be.

Pretty much the same, but I don’t think the
genetic influence is quite as strong as many believe it to be. I think
that depending on the cultural environment and the existence of positive
social pressure, just about any human trait can find a positive mode of
expression.

The genetic issue can only really be “solved” with
time. Of course, if white liberals are any indication, even if some
environmental catastrophe or social upheaval pushed the next generations
of black people towards civilization, once that civilization reaches
its apex, it will begin working feverishly to destroy itself. Either
that or just start massacring its own citizens because of whatever
thin-as-wet-tissue-paper reason it happens to come up with.

Huggums raises an important point here, which is the flip side of my controversial observation that the African population, taken in the whole, can only be half-civilized because fully civilizing a people appears to require about 1,000 years of exposure to civilization.  This, I have argued, is the primary reason blacks have repeatedly shown themselves unable to maintain advanced societies everywhere from Detroit to Zimbabwe, and why the more savage portion of the population has demonstrated that it cannot even constructively participate in an advanced society.

However, whites and other distinct human populations should not be too impressed with the accomplishments of their ancestors simply because they happened to get an earlier start on the process, because if the process of civilization is hard, maintaining it is observably even more difficult.  Indeed, one could even argue that it is impossible and eventual failure is only a matter of time.

It would be very hard to argue with Huggums’s observation that there are a considerable quantity of whites who have been working feverishly, and in some cases purposefully, to destroy white Christian European civilization.  Indeed, one could observe that their actions are a logical extension of the white European destruction of traditional Chinese civilization, traditional Japanese civilization, traditional Russian half-civilization, and even traditional Aztec/Inca quarter-civilization.

If I am correct and extended average time preferences is a critical factor in developing and maintaining civilization, then it would appear the white population has taken several significant steps towards savagery, in both intellectual and behavioral terms. The Keynesian concept of economic growth through inflation and debt-spending is literal intellectual savagery, as intrinsically magical and nonsensical as the illiterate Australian aborigines ideas about causation. And it is not hard to determine where “if it feels good, do it” falls on the time preferences spectrum.

And this highlights the intrinsic danger of inviting the barbarians inside the gates and encouraging them to integrate with the civilized citizenry. It is easier to bring down than to build up. It is much easier to infect the civilized youth with the idea of living for today and letting tomorrow take care of itself than it is to convince the savage youth to restrain their impulses and save for tomorrow what could be be consumed today. 

Daniel Patrick Moynihan once described the pathologies of black America as a warning of the coming pathologies of white America.  He was more prophetic than he knew; the dire effects of the behavioral problems to which he attempted to draw America’s attention turned out to be even worse than he had feared.  Black hip-hop culture may have been the most noticeable symptom of the cancer of anti-civilizational savagery, but it was the wigger adoption of it that signified the metastasis.

We are now well past the point of peak American civilization. The only question now is how far into savagery we are going to fall before the process can be reversed.  If it can be reversed.
