True

Joseph Farah speaks the truth:

When even a small fraction of that 64 percent of parents begin making decisions based on the interest of their own children – by yanking their kids out of government schools – the rigged, government-controlled indoctrination system will collapse of its own dead weight, much like the old Soviet Union did 15 years ago.

It’s just that simple.

Christian parents must stop sacrificing their children at the altar of Baal. It’s time to say no.

Better Baal than Moloch, I suppose but that’s about the only good you can say about the public schools. Get them out. Keep them out. Help them learn.

The rise and fall of Obama bin Laden

The Lizard Queen doesn’t take kindly to rivals:

Are the American people ready for an elected president who was educated in a Madrassa as a young boy and has not been forthcoming about his Muslim heritage?

This is the question Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s camp is asking about Sen. Barack Obama.

An investigation of Mr. Obama by political opponents within the Democratic Party has discovered that Mr. Obama was raised as a Muslim by his stepfather in Indonesia. Sources close to the background check, which has not yet been released, said Mr. Obama, 45, spent at least four years in a so-called Madrassa, or Muslim seminary, in Indonesia.

You’ll note that I’ve never paid much attention to the Obama hype. He’s not only a lightweight, he’s less electable than Ron Paul. The Lizard Queen could chew him up as a snack after her scheduled daily “relaxation” with Kim Gandy and one of the National Zoo’s Komodo dragons.

(The dragons take turns, they just can’t keep up with the indefatigable Ms Gandy.)

More likely, she’ll keep him around as harmless vice-president material. Any time he gets uppity, she’ll just hiss “zip it, Osama, or it’s Guantanamo Bay for you!”

My feeling is that Obama is playing for the vice-presidency anyhow. He’s not a serious candidate, his qualifications are no more serious than Tom Tancredo’s, who we are repeatedly assured cannot be considered a genuine possibility. But he should be able to ride the hype wave to the vice-presidency as long as he doesn’t overdo it and piss off the Lizard Queen.

The best way to tell is if he pointedly refrains from criticizing Hillary. A real rival would have her flayed and displayed for all to see, whereas a few gentle pokes to get her attention indicates a desire to play remora to her shark.

The global warming scam

A meterologist shares his skepticism:

I have been in operational meteorology since 1978, and I know dozens and dozens of broadcast meteorologists all over the country. Our big job: look at a large volume of raw data and come up with a public weather forecast for the next seven days. I do not know of a single TV meteorologist who buys into the man-made global warming hype. I know there must be a few out there, but I can’t find them. Here are the basic facts you need to know:

*Billions of dollars of grant money is flowing into the pockets of those on the man-made global warming bandwagon. No man-made global warming, the money dries up. This is big money, make no mistake about it. Always follow the money trail and it tells a story. Even the lady at “The Weather Channel” probably gets paid good money for a prime time show on climate change. No man-made global warming, no show, and no salary. Nothing wrong with making money at all, but when money becomes the motivation for a scientific conclusion, then we have a problem. For many, global warming is a big cash grab.

*The climate of this planet has been changing since God put the planet here. It will always change, and the warming in the last 10 years is not much difference than the warming we saw in the 1930s and other decades. And, lets not forget we are at the end of the ice age in which ice covered most of North America and Northern Europe.

The fact that the proponents of the global warming scam is enough to demonstrate that it is both bad science and bad logic. Seriously, if scientists don’t accept the idea that since the earth exists, God must have made it, why do they accept the idea that since the earth is growing warmer, Man must have done it?

It’s not as if they’ve actually done any of the experiments on the latter that they claim are necessary to prove the former, after all.

If one thinks that blaming global warming on God without citing any evidence for it is ridiculous, then one must reach the same conclusion for blaming it on Man.

Moreover, the evidence suggests that Man has nothing to do with it. The Earth was warmer back in the 14th century when 84 percent of Greenland wasn’t covered with ice. One notes that despite this warmer weather, the various coasts now wrongly claimed to be threatened were not submerged.

Women don’t think for themselves

It’s another way this study could have been described. I have to admit, I’ve always found it to be an unusual phenomenon, but a genuine one. I suspect that what it boils down to is that women are generally more attracted to social status than to physical beauty.

The first evidence that beauty is infectious is published today by scientists who have shown that when women see a rival smiling at a man, he becomes more attractive as a result.

The research, published in a prestigious scientific journal, gives objective credence to a common practice among American men of asking a female friend to be their “lady wingman”, or even hiring a beautiful woman to flirt with them in a bar, party or club to make them appear more attractive to others.

Of course, the inability to think for oneself is hardly limited to women. Back when I started Psykosonik, the local news media couldn’t have been less interested in us, even the free weekly rags didn’t bother to run a simple news item when we were signed to a Chicago record label. They preferred to run the usual in-depth, front cover stories on that no one outside of Minneapolis has ever heard of before or since.

But when Billboard magazine and other national publications took notice of us, we were suddenly deemed so worthy of note that the Star Tribune and the Pioneer Press were putting us on the front of the Entertainment section. It was strange. But in that case, I think it was a sort of small city inferiority complex, wherein anything invented at home can’t be any good unless someone from somewhere else declares it to be.

Anyhow, perhaps one of the ladies could explain why interest shown by another woman makes a man more attractive to her.

Proud to be a Republican

They do so love freedom:

“In what sounds like a comedy sketch from Jon Stewart’s Daily Show, but isn’t, the U. S. Senate would impose criminal penalties, even jail time, on grassroots causes and citizens who criticize Congress.

“Section 220 of S. 1, the lobbying reform bill currently before the Senate, would require grassroots causes, even bloggers, who communicate to 500 or more members of the public on policy matters, to register and report quarterly to Congress the same as the big K Street lobbyists. Section 220 would amend existing lobbying reporting law by creating the most expansive intrusion on First Amendment rights ever. For the first time in history, critics of Congress will need to register and report with Congress itself.

“The bill would require reporting of ‘paid efforts to stimulate grassroots lobbying,’ but defines ‘paid’ merely as communications to 500 or more members of the public, with no other qualifiers.

“On January 9, the Senate passed Amendment 7 to S. 1, to create
criminal penalties, including up to one year in jail, if someone ‘knowingly and willingly fails to file or report.’

“That amendment was introduced by Senator David Vitter (R-LA).

Who is now attempting to wipe his fingerprints off the glass, apparently. I must say, this touches me deeply, it even inspires me to song:

I’m proud to be a Republican and defend democracy
And I won’t forget the men who died to elect al-Maliki.
I gladly stand up next to you and tell you to fight afar
‘Cause there ain’t no doubt I love this land
God Bless the commissar.

College is stupid

For most people who attend, anyhow:

There is no magic point at which a genuine college-level education becomes an option, but anything below an IQ of 110 is problematic. If you want to do well, you should have an IQ of 115 or higher. Put another way, it makes sense for only about 15% of the population, 25% if one stretches it, to get a college education. And yet more than 45% of recent high school graduates enroll in four-year colleges. Adjust that percentage to account for high-school dropouts, and more than 40% of all persons in their late teens are trying to go to a four-year college–enough people to absorb everyone down through an IQ of 104.

No data that I have been able to find tell us what proportion of those students really want four years of college-level courses, but it is safe to say that few people who are intellectually unqualified yearn for the experience, any more than someone who is athletically unqualified for a college varsity wants to have his shortcomings exposed at practice every day. They are in college to improve their chances of making a good living. What they really need is vocational training. But nobody will say so, because “vocational training” is second class. “College” is first class.

I’d estimate that a college education is wasted on 85 percent of the recipients, and is downright destructive for at least a third of those. If you factor in the cost of an education combined with the opportunity cost of not entering the workforce full-time for four to six years, there’s a lot of people who are way behind the eight-ball upon graduation.

Many people – most of whom don’t belong in college – don’t seem to understand that elites exist for a reason. That which is in low supply will always be in great demand, whether it is intelligence, beauty or athletic ability. Handing out pieces of paper and expecting it to serve as a substitute isn’t going to work, it isn’t going to make any difference at all.

Fred abuses the arts

And rightly so, I say:

The arts, I say, constitute a brazen fraud—the arts at least as peddled in boutiques, sanctified in galleries, and rattled-on about by professors who ought to find productive jobs.

To begin with, the poseurs who have awarded themselves charge of the arts wouldn’t recognize an art if they found it swimming in their soup. It is true. Start with literature. I have read several times over the years of wags who copied out three chapters of some classic—The Reavers, or Moby Dick (“Call me Fishmeal.”)—and sent them, perhaps with the names changed, to publishing houses in New York. Invariably they were rejected. The professional judges of manuscripts recognized neither the books nor good writing. You would get better results having literature judged by a committee of taxi-drivers.

Trust me, I’m not operating under any misapprehensions about my literary abilities. But more importantly, I’m no longer operating under the misapprehension that most publishers have any clue about a) what is good writing or b) what will sell.

The beauty of living in an age when quality self-publishing is affordable is that the gatekeepers are largely irrelevant now. Oh, you’re not likely to find fame and fortune selling 50 books at a time, but then, it’s not as if the odds were in your favor doing things the conventional way anyhow.

Kill Ben Shapiro

The moral case for killing the Littlest Chickenhawk:

In deciding how to treat our [columnists], then, we must answer one question: Do the benefits of [murder] in this case outweigh the harms?

In the case of [columnists], however, the answer is that [murder] will often serve a useful purpose. The [Iraqi occupation] scenario, wherein [murder] is necessary to save [American] lives from imminent destruction, is an obvious example. But it is not the only example. If a [columnist writes] about [invading other countries], if he [advocates] future attacks, if he [writes favorably] about [actions that will cost American lives], we should [kill] him.

The first duty of Western civilization is self-preservation. By the Littlest Chickenhawk’s own logic, if we could save American lives by killing those columnists who advocate actions that could lead to the loss of those lives, we are bound to kill them if we wish to preserve Western civilization.

Naturally, it would only be fair to start with him. Better not behead him, though, he strikes me as one who shows every sign of being able to survive without need for a functioning brain.

Torture is a historical aspect of barbarism. Shapiro is advocating the destruction of precisely that which he supposedly wants to save. America can survive ten dirty bombs without serious trouble, in fact, the odds of its long-term survival would increase dramatically without New York, Washington DC and Los Angeles. But it will not survive the varied and pernicious measures being put in place that are nominally supposed to prevent the possibility of such attacks.

Mailvox: How is she still single?

JC emailed me this MySpace blog post. I’m sure all the married guys will be lamenting that they’re not in a position to pursue this angel descended to Earth… as if they could ever deserve her!

This should weed out who are losers and who are friends. In a man this is what I need.

1- You should own your own home by the age of 30. No excuses. I don’t care if your exwife took you. You should have been man enough to be financially stable enough to at least walk away with something. I am too old to be starting fresh financially and I do have a lifestyle to maintain. I was married to a very wealthy man before and I dont intend to take a step bckward.

2- You should make more money than me. I will not be there to support your lifestyle at all. I am working because I need something to do during the day but I dont want to continue to do it fulltime. If you don’t make enough to both have a very nice house and new cars and buy me the nice things I deserve plus an allowance you are just not grown up enough to have me. I wont lie. I am high maintainance. Deal with it or dont ask me out.

3- You should understand that as a woman you must earn me. This is both financial but emotional. My hormones change every day and until you are a woman and can understand that deal with it. yes I am fickle and subject to change my mind. Its a womans peroggotive. If you cant deal with my mood swings move along. You should be there for me no matter how cranky I am.

4- I do cook when I am in the mood but I don’t clean. I am not a maid. If you like your place clean you should make enough to hire a cleaning service because i should be worth more than that to you and you shouldnt expect that of me. You cant expect me to cook for you regularly either. I do have a job and a life. I cook when I want to not when you want me to.

5- Child care. I love my kids but I am not a nanny. I mostly work because I cant stand being around kids all day. I need my me time to get away. I need weekends away on a regular basis so you should be able to afford that. I am open to having more kids but if I go through the pain and suffering to have the kid you should do the sleepless nights thing or hire a nanny and if your kids are whiny brats than let their mom keep them. I dont have time or energy to fix your kids.

6- Staying in shape. You must have nice abs. If I had a mans metabolism I would. If I didn’t have kids I would. You have no excuse. I am sorry but I am just not attracted to guys who dont take care of themselves.

I am sorry this rant but come on guys grow up and get with it. If you fit the bill email me and let me know. If you dont them delete me from your friends and dont email me anymore. Sorry but this is the way it is and better to get it out of the way now than to spend all sorts of time dating before we figure these things out about each other.

On the one hand, at least she’s honest. One has to give her full credit for that. On the other… well, let’s just say it’s not a massive surprise that her “very wealthy” ex-husband found it within himself to make the selfless sacrifice required to let her spread her wings and fly. I particularly liked the “you have no excuse, but I do” mentality. Ye cats!

Speaking of which, the part I found interesting about this English article on toxic wives is that the pattern involves a start as an educated, high-flying career girl. In such cases, the job is merely the ticket for entry into the happy hunting grounds. Don’t ever trust a woman who says she wants to stay home with the kids but doesn’t exhibit any signs of actually wanting to be around them.

I disagree, of course, that the solution is to “marry an equal” and split the bills. One would do far better to look for a young woman whose chief ambition is to be a wife and mother, not a useless layabout, such women often work as nannies, unsurprisingly, and they’re often very attractive too.

It worked for Tiger Woods and me, anyhow.

Old maidhood better than death!

There’s something about this article that smacks of weird female desperation:

For what experts say is probably the first time, more American women are living without a husband than with one, according to a New York Times analysis of census results.

In 2005, 51 percent of women said they were living without a spouse, up from 35 percent in 1950 and 49 percent in 2000.

Coupled with the fact that in 2005 married couples became a minority of all American households for the first time, the trend could ultimately shape social and workplace policies, including the ways government and employers distribute benefits.

Several factors are driving the statistical shift. At one end of the age spectrum, women are marrying later or living with unmarried partners more often and for longer periods. At the other end, women are living longer as widows and, after a divorce, are more likely than men to delay remarriage, sometimes delighting in their newfound freedom….

“A gentleman asked me to marry him and I said no,” she recalled. “I told him, ‘I’m just beginning to fly again, I’m just beginning to be me. Don’t take that away.’ ”

“Marriage kind of aged me because there weren’t options,” Ms. Terris said. “There was only one way to go. Now I have choices. One night I slept on the other side of the bed, and I thought, I like this side.”

She said she was returning to college to get a master’s degree (her former husband “didn’t want me to do that because I was more educated* than he was”), had taken photography classes and was auditioning for a play.

“Once you go through something you think will kill you and it doesn’t,” she said, “every day is like a present.”

It doesn’t kill you! You can sleep on whatever side of the bed you want! Some women delight in it!

And presumably you can have all the cats you like too. But here’s what puzzles me. If remaining permanently alone is so fabulous, then why does nearly every woman on the planet go ballistic every time she hears about a man trading in a woman for a younger model with fewer miles on her?

It seems to me such men should be celebrated, even awarded medals of appreciation, for their demonstrable willingness to sacrifice their own comfort to the great cause of women’s freedom and self-actualization.

And furthermore, if it is laudable for women to resist getting married or avoid it altogether, then why are women so critical of men who openly express their lack of interest in the institution? Why shouldn’t men be praised when they string their girlfriends along encourage their girlfriends to remain free? In fairness, though, one must admit that the article provides a brilliant excuse for guys who wish to put off their marriage-hungry girlfriends.

“Where do I see this going? Great places, lots of fun and interesting places. And I’d love to propose, you know, but I just couldn’t live with myself if I took you away from you. You don’t want me to clip your wings, do you? All right, then.”

*It seems education isn’t quite as sexy as the educated, thirty-something single women keep insisting it is. Seriously, if a woman’s goal is to be attractive to men, a boob job and a fitness membership are much better investments than a college education. And an education is going to be mostly wasted on the woman incapable of figuring that one out.
