Shut up, Ted

How many national anthems do we have??

Is there an Hispanic national anthem?

An Asian-American national anthem?

This is asinine. We are ONE America. E Pluribus Unum.
– Ted Cruz

Shut up, Ted. You’re a Cuban who arrived by way of Canada. You’re not a Texan. You’re not an American. You’re a foreign mandarin of an imperial state.

If blacks tell you they’re playing their national anthem, then they are obviously a distinct and separate nation. Listen to them. Or are you denying them self-determination?

Historian in hot water over history

How dare British historians actually know anything about British and world history!

Historian David Starkey could lose his University of Cambridge fellowship after he claimed ‘slavery was not genocide’ because ‘so many damn blacks live in Africa and Britain.’

Dr Starkey, 75, was accused of racism following an interview with BeLeave founder Darren Grimes, during which he argued the Black Lives Matter (BLM) movement is ‘wholly and entirely a product of white colonisation’.

Speaking via video link from his home, the historian said ‘the only reason that these young black protestors are here’ is ‘because of slavery’.

He added: ‘What has happened of course is that the only reason that these young black protestors are here – isn’t it slavery?

‘It’s only because of the great African diaspora, the compulsory diaspora, because of slavery. What of course that brings you up to confronting is of course slavery was not the equivalent of the Holocaust.

‘Slavery was not genocide, otherwise there wouldn’t be so many damn blacks in Africa or in Britain, would there? An awful lot of them survived.

‘And again, there’s no point in arguing against globalisation or Western civilisation: they are all products of it. We are all products of it.

Slavery obviously isn’t genocide. Economically inefficient as it is, it wouldn’t have worked as long as it did if it was. American Indians suffered genocide in part because they didn’t make good slaves. Africans, quite obviously, did not, with the exception of those living in the Belgian Congo.

If the British want to beat themselves up over the moral failings of the West – and I am not saying that it should – it should do so over the conquest, genocide, and near-total dispossession of the American Indian, not its treatment of Africans, or Arabs, or Jews.

Crypto.Fashion deplatformed

They were kicked off Shopify today. Watch this space for their inevitable revival with their own independent platform.

And if your business is still dependent upon a one-stop shop, it’s time to exit the platform and build your own. It doesn’t matter who you are or what you do, the crocodile is coming for you.

Maxwell arrested

I wonder how long it will be before she, too, doesn’t kill herself:

Ghislaine Maxwell, the former girlfriend of Jeffrey Epstein and alleged madam who is accused of procuring young girls for him, has been arrested in New Hampshire.

The FBI took her into custody on Thursday morning and she is due to appear in a federal court later, NBC News reports, citing two unnamed sources.

At this time the charges she is facing are unknown but they are understood to have been filed by the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York.

The net keeps closing. No wonder they’re so desperate.

The One-Upper

The new episode of Hypergamouse, NO ONE LIKES A ONE-UPPER, is now live on Webtoons. And Hypergamouse artist Lacey Fairchild is rapidly becoming one of Arkhaven’s star illustrators, as she’s in the process of graduating from just illustrating the strips to writing scripts as well.

As I mentioned on SocialGalactic, what sets her apart is her ability to convey facial expressions and body language in just a few simple lines. Here is a great example: the body language expressed by the female mouse in this panel from HM02 beautifully sets up the foundation for several future strips to come.

UPDATE: In not-entirely-unrelated news, MIDNIGHT’S WAR finished the Short Story submission period as the 26th most popular entry of the 5,071 total entries, and the 7th most popular in the Brain category. Prizes are awarded to the top ten entries in both categories, so it will be interesting to see how it fares in the judges’ eyes. The announcement of the winners will be July 31.

The fall of the Republic of CHAZ

Having been sufficiently spooked by “protestors” showing up in her neighborhood, the Seattle Mayor has finally decided to send the police into CHAZ:

Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan issued a Proclamation of Civil Emergency regarding the East Precinct and Cal Anderson Park area today.  The order declared the gathering in this area as an “unlawful assembly” requiring immediate action from city agencies, including the Seattle Police Department.

But don’t worry, the Mayor and the Police Chief are still on the side of Palestinian Lives Matter.

Today, Mayor  Jenny  Durkan issued a  48-hour  public safety  emergency  order  to vacate the East Precinct/Cal Anderson area.  Seattle police will be in the area this morning enforcing the  Mayor’s  order.

This order, and our police response, comes after weeks of violence in and around the Capitol Hill Occupied Protest zone, including four shootings, resulting in multiple injuries and the deaths of two teenagers.

As I have said, and I will say again, I support peaceful demonstrations. Black Lives Matter, and I too want to help propel this movement toward meaningful change in our community.

But enough is enough.

The history of the CHAZunards was brief, but glorious. And it was important, too. It showed us exactly what life in the post-USA is going to be like for everyone.

It’s clear whom they serve

Sir Michael Palin and other Knights of the British Empire are objecting to St. George crushing Satan underneath his feet:

Monty Python star Sir Michael Palin has joined calls to redesign one of the Queen’s medals after a petition was launched claiming the insignia  is ‘racist’ and ‘looks similar to George Floyd’s killing’. The medal for the Most Distinguished Order of St Michael and St George – one of the Queen’s highest honours – previously featured a picture of a white angel standing on the neck of a black man.

The image, which was changed in 2011 to feature a light-skinned devil, is actually a depiction of the Archangel Michael defeating Satan. But a petition claims the medal bears a resemblance to the death of George Floyd, who died in May after a Minneapolis police officer knelt on his neck for almost eight minutes as he was being arrested. Sir Michael, was appointed a Knight Commander of the Order of St George and St Michael in 2019 for ‘services to travel, culture and geography’, has since backed calls to change the design, while the Governor General of Jamaica Sir Patrick Allen has said he will no longer wear the award and called for it to be redesigned.

It’s pretty obvious that it’s not any purported similarity to St. George Floyd’s death that bothers them, it’s the way in which their master’s defeat is so humiliatingly portrayed.

The wicked are becoming increasingly transparent about where their true loyalties lie.

Jordan triples down

He totally did go without sleep for 25 days. Because studies. An interview with Jordan Peterson by Mikhaela Peterson:

JP: I couldn’t stand up without fainting. I couldn’t sleep. I don’t think I slept at all for for something on the in the order of three weeks.

MP: Yeah, people like you went on Joe Rogan and talked about this Sulfite reaction you had and how you didn’t sleep and people commented that, oh, it’s not possible to stay awake for that long. But if you actually look into sodium metabolic sulfide allergies, The symptoms that we experienced aren’t unheard of, there are papers.

JP: It’s also impossible to stay awake voluntarily that long. That’s not the same as not being able to sleep. Those are very, very different things, whatever. It’s possible that when I was laying there thinking I wasn’t sleeping, that now and then I drifted off and would wake up and not notice. I mean, I can’t eliminate that as a possibility. But I can certainly tell you that I slept little enough so that it was exceedingly unpleasant. It’s a very long time to stay awake.

Liars always resort to redefinitions as soon as they are caught and called out. And Jordan Peterson appears to be a seriously pathological liar. To this day, he still can’t admit that he was simply talking nonsense on Joe Rogan.

He just can’t do it.

And it definitely, definitely, wasn’t meth.

St. Efan’s statement

Concerning his deplatforming by YouTube yesterday.

This is Stefan Molyneux. As you may have heard, 14 years of my life, thousands of videos, billions of comments, hundreds of millions of views, and nearly a million subscribers have been destroyed, has been erased from |YouTube.

The accusation is the usual one, that I’m fermenting violence and hatred and so on, which is not true at all. I have consistently promulgated the non-aggression principle and called for reason and evidence as the methodology by which we can resolve social disputes and differences. It doesn’t seem to have mattered, of course, the reality is that the book burning is underway. Myself and many other dissidents and anti-communist intellectuals and speakers have also had channels destroyed across a wide variety of platforms within the span of only one hour in what I assume is a highly coordinated effort to silence us. And it is a blow, don’t get me wrong, it is a huge blow, it is a huge challenge, and the goal of course is to remove the middle, to remove those of us who are looking for peaceful solutions, rational solutions, philosophical solutions, to social differences. To take us out so that there is no center to society and everyone can gravitate to the extremes wherein the tinderbox of violence can be lit in a revolutionary conflagration of brutality.

And I’m going to strongly urge you, my friends, to resist that temptation, resist that temptation to go to the extremes, to go to hostility, to go to rage, to go to violence. It is not too late. There is still incredible technology that we can use to further the rational and philosophical discussion of issues within society and I’m begging you please stay in the conversation. It is my dedication and my foundational goal to maintain, and possibly even grow, this philosophical conversation despite the inevitable blowbacks that philosophers always receive from the powers that be, so please help me out.

It’s going to be a pretty harsh winter and a pretty big reorientation. I’m going to beg you, please, my friends, go to freedomain.com. Help me out. I will come back stronger and better and we can avoid the escalation that could burn us all to the ground.

I very much like Stefan. I admire him. He’s a smart man. He’s a good man. He has good intentions and a good heart. But he simply does not understand the times.

The time for conversation is over. While it may take two to tango, it only takes one to war. This is not a time for peaceful, rational or philosophical solutions, it is, rather, a time to know your enemy, to know yourself, and to embrace the inevitable conflicts to come.

So, gentle readers, what is your profession?

White Fans Don’t Matter

The NBA dives deeper into the sea of convergence:

One of the central arguments against restarting the NBA season was the momentum social justice reform had gained in the United States. Playing basketball would theoretically provide a distraction for a nation whose focus should be on combatting both systemic racism and the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, and a number of players were reportedly uneasy about being part of such a distraction. Were the NBA to resume play under the circumstances, it would have to use its platform in the name of social change in order to satisfy those players. Fortunately, the NBA has taken significant steps in that arena.

On Saturday, it was reported that players will be able to include social justice messages on the backs of their jerseys at Disney. That decision, while powerful, puts the onus on players. The league itself needed to send a message of solidarity, and is doing so with its latest decision. According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, Zach Lowe and Ramona Shelburne, the league plans to paint “Black Lives Matter” on both sidelines on all three of the courts they will be using at Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex.

Brave. And stunning. Thank you for this.

And when attendance and television viewership plunge off a cliff, the coronavirus, not the obvious corporate cancer, will be blamed. I’d like to say that I will henceforth be ignoring the National BLM Association, but I haven’t paid any attention to the NBA since Michael Jordan retired the second time.
