Mailvox: scientists wanted

A documentary filmmaker is looking for scientists and mathematicians willing to go on camera to discuss TE(p)NSBMGDaGF:

I am a filmmaker currently working on an untitled documentary project with the purpose of revealing the ideological motives of those who act as the gatekeepers for Darwinism. While on the surface this may sound a bit like the 2008 documentary “Expelled”, my proposed film is not about Intelligent Design whatsoever, it is simply an examination of the science of TE(p)NSBMGDaGF, as you so affectionally refer to it, and the ideology of those determined to protect it from criticism and attempt to strong arm others who practice any genuine scientific inquiry to challenge it.

I recently discovered your blog during my research, and though I am an agnostic, I have found your material on this subject very compelling. My funding is in place, and most of my preliminary research has been completed, but I am running into a brick wall when it comes to getting those in the scientific community (outside of ID proponents) to point me in the right direction on the challenges to Darwinism from evo-devo, genetics, and mathematics, and to agree to be interviewed for the project. Though I have simply presented my film as an “evidentiary exploration of Darwinian evolution”, most biologists seem to have learned that it is not wise to provide potential ammunition for a documentary film. Either out of fear of retribution or a sense of their authority being challenged, I have found few who are willing to assist me in my research, or to go on record.

This is why I am contacting you. From the comments on your posts, I have noticed that quite a few scientists and engineers read and comment on your blog, and I was hoping perhaps they might give me some assistance regarding fundamental objections to Darwinian theory from other schools of scientific inquiry, and suggestions on those in the scientific community I should be looking to engage with. I appreciate any assistance you and your “ilk” would be willing to give me on this topic.

I have the impression this guy is looking for credentials, so if you happen to be a sufficiently credentialed scientist or mathematician who is interested in being interviewed about what is happening in the field of evolutionary biology, shoot me an email with your credentials and I will pass them along to the filmmaker.

And before anyone leaps to the wrong assumption, no, I’m not involved in this, and no, I won’t be appearing in it. But it is interesting to see that scientists are either afraid to speak publicly concerning their doubts about TENS or are unwilling to defend the orthodox dogma. No wonder the Darwinists are losing the media war. They’re afraid to even show up for the fight and have resorted to ideological thuggery inside their increasingly irrelevant secular monasteries. Thomas Huxley must be rolling over in his grave at the sight of Darwin’s Yellow-bellied Chickens.

The consensus crumbles

It’s going to be increasingly difficult for the AGW/CC cultists to claim they have a scientific consensus when Nobel Prize-winning physicists are resigning from scientific societies over the grotesquely unscientific AGW/CC propaganda:

Dr. Ivar Giaever, a former professor with Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and the 1973 winner of the Nobel Prize in physics, abruptly announced his resignation Tuesday, Sept. 13, from the premier physics society in disgust over its officially stated policy that “global warming is occurring.”

The official position of the American Physical Society (APS) supports the theory that man’s actions have inexorably led to the warming of the planet, through increased emissions of carbon dioxide. Giaever does not agree — and put it bluntly and succinctly in the subject line of his email, reprinted at Climate Depot, a website devoted to debunking the theory of man-made climate change.

“I resign from APS,” Giaever wrote.

Giaever was cooled to the statement on warming theory by a line claiming that “the evidence is incontrovertible.”

“In the APS it is ok to discuss whether the mass of the proton changes over time and how a multi-universe behaves, but the evidence of global warming is incontrovertible?” he wrote in an email to Kate Kirby, executive officer of the physics society. “The claim … is that the temperature has changed from ~288.0 to ~288.8 degree Kelvin in about 150 years, which (if true) means to me is that the temperature has been amazingly stable, and both human health and happiness have definitely improved in this ‘warming’ period,” his email message said.

The facts are that the Earth was warmer in the past than it is now, the AGW/CC predictive models have all repeatedly failed, and the entire AGW/CC scheme amounts to little more than grant-seeking scientists attempting to please globalist politicians seeking to justify world government with fake science.

Homecare or die

At this point, I won’t be surprised to see it reported soon that daycare leads to sterility, Satanism, suicide, and supporting the Green Bay Packers:

n an article for The Biologist journal, Dr Sigman cites studies which show higher levels of the stress hormone cortisol in children who go to day care. The increase only appears up until the age of three or so, but Dr Sigman says it is still important, as the brain develops rapidly during these years. High levels of cortisol are linked to lower resistance to infection in the short-term and heart disease in the long-term.

Of course, no sooner will the reports be published than the supporters of these kiddy concentration camps will argue that while there is a broad consensus that day-care influences the suicide rate in the short term, there is no evidence that this has long-term detrimental consequences.

Throw in the fact that the median male worker now makes less than he did in 1968, and a very solid case can be made that mothers with young children not only should not work, they should probably be legally barred from working if they are married or cohabitating.

VPFL Week One

74 Moundsview Meerkats (1-0-0)
62 Greenfield Grizzlies (0-1-0)

82 RR Redbeards (1-0-0)
54 GroverBeach Quixotes (0-1-0)

76 MS Swamp Spartans (1-0-0)
69 Cranberry Rhyneauxs (0-1-0)

71 Bane Sidhe (1-0-0)
68 Green Reverends (0-1-0)

57 Macau Marauders (1-0-0)
55 Bailout Banksters (0-1-0)

Not a bad start for the Meerkats, beating their archrivals in the first game despite missing Arian Foster, sitting Reggie Wayne, and watching Michael Turner and the entire ATL offense fail to show up. However, I’m not sure I like the odds of counting on Aaron Rodgers and the Eagles defense to carry the entire load all season.

And now we know why she isn’t running

If reports of this past affair turns out to be true, I tend to suspect it wouldn’t go over particularly well with the core of Palin’s support. People talk a good game of racial equality, but very few men of any race are enthusiastic about the women of their race being involved with the men of other races.

In the book, which will be published on September 20th, McGinniss claims Sarah had a steamy interracial hookup with basketball stud GLEN RICE less than a year before she eloped with her husband Todd. Sarah hooked up with the NBA great, then a 6-foot-8 junior at the University of Michigan when he was playing in a college basketball tournament in Alaska in 1987, the book says. At the time, Sarah, just out of college, was working as a sports reporter for the Anchorage TV station KTUU….

Rice confirmed the story to McGinniss.

Although I have to say there is one thing very suspicious about this story. Glen Rice was never an NBA great.

Mustache vs Mustache

It’s like Spy vs Spy, only hairier. Joseph Farah beats up on Michael Medved:

Medved explains in the broadcast that his disgust with WND, which he refers to as “WorldNutDaily,” began during a period in which he toiled for the site as a weekly columnist – a position from which he was terminated for lack of interest by the public.

Medved is a remarkably clueless talker, prone to moral preening and fake outrage, and Farah is correct about the lack of interest in Medved’s columns. I had access to the servers back then and I remember my column had around 4x the readership of Medved’s when he was still on WND.

And let’s not forget that Equus Pallidus reduced Medved to a sputtering puddle of self-contradictions on his own show when he was having his little fainting fit over my perfectly factual, completely uncontroversial statement that if National Socialist Germany could identify, transport, and kill 6 million Jews in three years, it is apparent that it is entirely possible for the USA to identify and transport 12 million illegal immigrants in less than eight years.

In this epic battle of mustaches, it’s clear that the edge is with 70’s Porn Stache over the Gay Mustachio.

Of snakes and science fads

You will likely recall my citation of Cabal as a poster snake for his claim that Darwinism is a meaningless expression that only exists in creationist literature. Not only was this easily demonstrated to be false, given frequent uses of the term by famous creationists such as Richard Dawkins, but thanks to the Google Ngram Viewer we can see precisely how ludicrously dishonest a claim it was.

The Google Ngram viewer shows the number of times a term was used in various books from 1800 to 2008. This is the tracking of the term Darwinism. Notice how use of the term rises rapidly from 1860 to 1910, then from 1945 to 1998.

Now, what could the two fall-offs that begin in 1928 and 1998 have in common? My initial suspicion is economics. As per socionomic theory, in times of economic contraction, people are less attracted to the purely materialist position for which Darwinism is the primary justification. Everyone is too busy surviving to care much about prehistoric matters or the philosophies that can be derived from them; even the scientists are forced to turn their attention to subjects that provide more immediate grant-generating possibilities and more practical applications. Furthermore, I also surmised that the greater decline in the post-1998 decline may be related to the likely motivation behind Cabal’s claim, because it is apparent that the secular humanist movement has decided to try to move away from the albatross that the term “Darwinism” has become.

However, this latter theory appears to be incorrect, as the use of the term “evolution” has also fallen off at a similar rate of decline. This would tend to support the socionomic theory and disprove the propaganda-related one. And this raises an even more interesting possibility, which is that this relatively recent dropoff may mark the beginning of the abandonment of Darwinism, evolution, and particularly natural selection as real scientific concepts and the end of a 148-year quasi-scientific fad.

The Grasshopper Generation

I told you that Baby Boomers were, collectively, the most despicable generation in American history. But now they’re really outdoing themselves:

“My goal is when they carry me away in that box that my bank account is going to say zero,” Willison said. “I’m going to spoil myself now.”

Upending the conventional notion of parents carefully tending their financial estates to be passed down at the reading of their wills, many baby boomers say they instead plan to spend the money on themselves while they’re alive.

In a survey of millionaire boomers by investment firm U.S. Trust, only 49% said it was important to leave money to their children when they die. The low rate was a big surprise for a company that for decades has advised wealthy people how to leave money to their heirs.

Needless to say, they’re not too worried about fixing the economy either. All far too many of them care about is that Social Security and Medicare last long enough to see them to their graves. Still talking about Woodstock, of course.

Europe: The Recanting

A former EU enthusiast finally admits the would-be Fourth Reich is a disaster:

All my adult life, I have called myself a pro-European. I deplored Brussels’ follies as much as anyone, but went on hoping for better things. I believed Europe was broadly a force for good. However, today, I recant. After much agonising and hesitation, I adopt the conclusion that many of you probably reached years ago: that the EU in its present form has become a disaster, which threatens the future of its major members, unless its terms and powers are drastically recast….

Some of us used to argue that Europe has been an economic success story. Those who remembered the past poverty of Spain, for instance, rejoiced to see the country apparently booming, its prosperity exemplified by Madrid’s glittering new airport. Much the same might be said about our western neighbour, the Celtic tiger. But now we see that their supposed success — not to mention that of Greece and Portugal — was an illusion created by smoke, mirrors, prodigious subsidy and reckless borrowing.

The time for Euroskepticism is past. Now is the time for Euroremoval.
