There is nothing good about the Hellmouth

Even that which appears to be harmless is just a trap for the innocent unwary. CDAN reveals a blind item:

He would sucker you in with the shows and the wholesome image, but it was the movies that he showed his true vision. He was A+ list and was a director and a head of a studio and a behind the scenes performer. With his television shows, he made parents feel it was safe to take kids to see his movies, even when they seemed like they might be too much. There is a prequel streaming right now of one of his biggest visions. He made a movie decades ago that encompassed everything he believed and always thought if he could get kids to watch it, that he could somehow control them. The movie was essentially about mind control, rituals and blood sacrifice disguised as a children’s movie. He said he wanted to make those kinds of movies so kids would get used to those ideas and think of them as normal later in life.

Jim Henson/Dark Crystal/Labyrinth

Don’t be fooled. Muppets, Sesame Street, Disney, Pixar, it’s all evil.

A charade of success

AC highlights the fake success of the ticket-taking gatekeeper, Ben Shapiro:

At 17, Shapiro was the youngest syndicated columnist in the country, and was writing his first book. Nobody was going to listen to you at 17, let alone pay you to write stuff about politics. Any editor would have ignored you if you sought this out, even if you were a genius. His Infogalactic page shows nine books he has written, but not a one of you, autistic political fans, can even name one. Nobody bought them, but I will bet he took home millions, supposedly from the paltry slice a publisher offers an author. He founded the Daily Wire, which has 102 employees, and has $20 million revenue per year. I can’t even pay Lembro and Farce in popcorn.

Understand, this is all illusion. Everything he has was laid on him from above, Epstein-style. I can recommend a product here in my main text, and my honest slice of the profit from the few, if any units sold from that, shunted to me for the endorsement, would not pay my hosting, even if multiplied up by the fake traffic numbers they give him with bots hitting his site. Almost everything you buy is habit. You know what you like, and you buy what you have always bought. Very, very rarely does somebody catch your attention,  on a little picture on the sidebar of a website of all things, show you something new, and convince you to go out and buy it. Advertising is a meme, but it is the best reason they could come up with for why people writing shit for free, who you only know because they are spammed everywhere by paid shills, would end up multimillionaires. It is a nice gig, I’m sure, so long as you don’t mind abandoning your kind, maybe getting killed at some point because it suits the narrative, and probably not getting to see your dogs in the afterlife.

He’s right. It takes a manufactured name brand and over 100 paid employees to produce 4x more traffic than this site, which has zero employees and zero advertising revenue. Internet advertising is, like political book sales, simply another means of funnelling money to those who do what their evil promethean masters tell them to do.

Note that neither AC nor I are even remotely bitter about Shapiro’s fake success. To the contrary, we are both contemptuous of it. If the whole world isn’t worth the price of your soul, then selling it for a little money, a little fame, a radio show, and your name on a few forgettable books is a dreadful bargain.

Congratulations, Britain

Britain is now free of the European Union:

The UK stopped following EU rules at 23:00 GMT, as replacement arrangements for travel, trade, immigration and security co-operation came into force. Boris Johnson said the UK had “freedom in our hands” and the ability to do things “differently and better” now the long Brexit process was over.

Although it may not have been as dramatic, this victory for Britain is actually more important than either WWI or WWII. Whether the British people use their freedom wisely or not is irrelevant, the point is that for the first time in decades, they are free to choose their own destiny.

Make no mistake, Brexit is a major blow for the globalists, as it punctured the illusion of inevitability behind which many of their advancements were made. And they know it, as Macron’s bitter speech today underlines:

Emmanuel Macron sparked fury today by claiming Brexit was the product of ‘lies and false promises’ in a bitter broadside at Britain’s departure from the EU. The French president lashed out at the UK’s decision to quit the block on the night it finally took place, more than four years after the Brexit referendum.

He used his New Year address to his nation to castigate the UK’s decision to go it alone after agreeing a trade deal which could damage the French fishing fleet – and his grip on power.

In the address delivered from the Elysee Palace, Paris, Mr Macron questioned the strength of Britain’s sovereignty following its departure from the European Union. ‘A few days ago, we reached an agreement to organise our future relations, defending our interests, our industries, our fishermen and our unity, he said in a video address,’ he said. ‘The United Kingdom remains our neighbour but also our friend and ally. This choice of leaving Europe, this Brexit, was the child of European malaise and lots of lies and false promises.’

Traffic Report 2020

2020 was a year which felt rather like a plateau, with an awful lot of running just to stay in place, but it appears to have set the stage for some major progress on multiple fronts in 2021. A series of infrastructural advancements in everything from Arkhaven to Unauthorized that have taken place while bigger competitors like DC Comics and YouTube are in declines that appear to presage complete freefalls promise what could be a fascinating new year indeed. For once, there were no deplatformings of note; to the contrary, Google followed Amazon’s example in swiftly declining the opportunity for a showdown over one of its SJWs attacking the legitimacy of this blog.

In 2020, Vox Popoli had 41,338,037 Google pageviews. The blog is now running at an average rate of 113,255 daily pageviews, up 26.2 percent from an average 89,745 last year. It also cracked 200 million pageviews for the first time, closing out the year at 213,670,411. The running annual pageview totals are as follows:

2008: 3,496,757

2009: 4,414,801

2010: 4,827,183

2011: 5,422,628

2012: 6,098,774

2013: 9,340,663

2014: 11,236,085

2015: 16,211,875

2016: 25,817,343

2017: 31,216,357

2018: 32,260,094

2019: 32,757,068

2020: 41,338,037

Rather to my surprise, John Scalzi has begun posting his blog traffic numbers again, thereby permitting the return of the annual comparison of VP’s traffic to that of the Most Popular Blog in Science Fiction.

It just never gets old, does it?

For those new readers to whom this vindictive competitiveness presents a mystery, I must, in fairness, mention that Scalzi never did anything more than exaggerate his blog numbers to impress the media and his publisher. Indeed, he made rather a point of refusing to even refer to this site by name. It was a number of his fans who used to comment regularly on this blog back in 2011 and 2012 that insisted on appealing to comparative site traffic in order to stress how important Whatever was vis-a-vis Vox Popoli. One suspects he now appreciates their efforts almost as much as Jordan Peterson appreciates those of his erstwhile champions.

It wasn’t until December 2012, ironically, the year which represents the high water mark for Whatever, that I discovered VP was nearly as well-trafficked as The Most Important Blog in Science Fiction, as Whatever was generally recognized in the genre. Before any autists sperg out, they should note that the divergence between the numbers in that December 2012 post and the numbers above is because I used Sitemeter to track traffic starting back in 2003, then switched to Google pageviews retroactive to 2008 after Sitemeter became unreliable.

A Sea of Skulls remains a work-in-progress, but I’m optimistic that it will be finished in 2021, which will definitely see the publication of the entire There Will Be War and Junior Classics series. We’re also hoping to get new Wardogs, Inc. books out. Both Castalia Library and Unauthorized are going strong, and there is every reason to believe that Arkhaven is going to be an extraordinarily successful schwerpunkt in the coming year.

“Bill Gates is going down”

Lin Woods makes some remarkably specific predictions in an interview summarized by AC:

A sealed document in a federal court in Maryland, sealed under National Security, documents how Nancy Pelosi, Rod Rosenstein, John Podesta, and John Brennan have tapes of John Roberts talking with Podesta about who would best replace Antonin Scalia, and they were recorded before Scalia died, and apparently had foreknowledge of his death. Roberts flew on Epstein’s plane because Epstein helped him acquire his children from Wales.

Barack Obama is worth well over billion dollars, much inherited from his step-father who owned it in Halliburton stock.

Many people in this country will go to jail for treason, and the number that will be just associated with trying to steal this election from our President will be astounding.

He predicts a violent period of civil unrest as the Cabal tries to engage in violence as part of their Color Revolution plan, just like we have seen overseas, after Trump wins the Presidency.

He believes the Governor of Georgia has been taking kickbacks on Georgia purchases of Dominion voting machines and Chinese PPE orders. And the death of Harrison Deal in a car wreck, which produced an explosion that was heard by witnesses a mile away, was a message to him.

Pat Cipillone, the disloyal White House lawyer trying to thwart President Trump at every turn, drives a new luxury vehicle to the White House every two days, including a Rolls Royce.

Rosenstein, Sally Yates, and Christopher Wray all worked in the same law firm, and are corrupt.

CIA is the most corrupt organization in the country, and President Trump is about to defang them by pulling all direct-action operational capabilities from the Agency, reducing it to an organization of paper pushers. Oddly enough President Kennedy was about to do that when he was killed, and the memo, named “Memorandum 45,” sat on his desk unsigned. Lin implies President Trump set it in motion by signing that very memo.

Bill Gates is going down as well.

George Bush 41 and 43, Bill and Hillary, and Obama all ran crime families, and they ran them out of the Oval Office. He said he believes the notes given at Bush 41’s funeral said, “I’m sorry, but they know it all.”

Under the 2018 EO on voting integrity, President Trump will have the power to seize all the assets of the Fake News mainstream media once things start happening, because they have profited from trying to aid China in voter fraud.

He also points out there were reports of gunfire before the bombing, and that it is inconsistent with a lone bomber, and might indicate good guys killed the bomber before he positioned the bomb appropriately, and that is why the bomber failed to destroy the “evidence” he was trying to destroy.

Lin says he believes if the election is shown to be fraudulent, all down-ballot elections may have to be re-held.

President Trump will prove to be the greatest President in the history of the United States.

Given that some of the objects of his criticism have publicly threatened defamation lawsuits, either Lin Woods is off his rocker or he is in possession of hard evidence.

UPDATE: He’s really not holding anything back at this point.

I am fully aware of the onslaught of attacks being made against me based on my revelations about Chief Justice John Roberts. Before attacking me, maybe fair-minded people would first ask Roberts to tell the truth. Or ask Jeffrey Epstein. He is alive.

This suggests that Team Trump has Epstein in protective custody and will produce him at the most effective moment. Could it be disinformation? Certainly. Never trust any authority a priori, including me. Then again, President Trump did warn us that things are going to get wild on January 6th.

UPDATE: Dear Gamma retards,

Accurately reporting what other people are saying on the record is what was once called “journalism”. This should not be confused with either a) betting one’s life on what those other people are saying or b) actually saying it oneself.

First, I don’t care what you think about my credibility. Second, the only way my credibility could be negatively affected by reporting on what other people have said is if you have evidence that they did not, in fact, say it. Third, if at all possible, please stop being retarded, as witnessing your exhibitions of retardery is infinitely more painful to me than your would-be criticism.

The Troskyite fraudster

Never forget that Ben Shapiro has never, ever, been on your side. He hates you, he hates President Trump, he hates your Christian faith, and he hates Western Civilization.

No, Trump has not already won the election, and it is deeply irresponsible for him to say he has.

– Ben Shapiro, 4 November 2020

The Littlest Chickenhawk is going to try to walk back his Never Trump statements after the events of the coming weeks. So don’t be fooled by his lies and misrepresentations.

2020 project updates

So, as you know, we’re behind on pretty much every single one of our projects for various reasons. That’s the bad news. The good news is that we have been able to regularly improve the quality of what we’re delivering, and we expect to be able to continue doing that in 2021. Here is the current state of affairs:

CASTALIA HOUSE

We’ve significantly reduced the number of books we’re producing and removed almost all of our audiobooks from Audible in order to focus on books that are worth the effort involved to produce them. Those who want audiobooks can buy them from us directly or acquire them through the Castalia subscription on Patreon. We have completed the entire THERE WILL BE WAR series in paperback, but have not yet announced them because we need to make some minor revisions and Ingram is having some operational problems that are delaying them. The Junior Classics will be available from Castalia House through normal distribution as soon as we complete the shipments of the Original Backer editions. We also intend to produce regular hardcover editions of some of our Library books, such as MEDITATIONS and THE DIVINE COMEDY.

CASTALIA LIBRARY

The first four books have been bound and shipped. The fourth book, THE DIVINE COMEDY, is just beginning to reach the first subscribers. Books Five and Six, the two volumes of PLUTARCH’S LIVES, were scheduled to ship today, but we rejected the initial stamping because the gold was spilling over the two soldiers on the spine due to excessively fine lines. We’re working on modifying the stamping plates and expect the books to ship together in late January. A number of non-US subscribers have not received their books yet due to border blockages and insufficient airline cargo space, so just be patient, as they will get to you as soon as delivery is permitted.

ARKHAVEN COMICS

No comics will be released until March. Due to the unprecedented opportunity being presented by the meltdown of DC Comics, the Arkhaven team is focusing all of our efforts on this front on a new site dedicated to delivering free digital comics in an improved version of the Webtoons format. Chuck Dixon’s Avalon is complete. Alt-Hero is complete through Issue 9. A Throne of Bones 1-6 will be complete. Alt-Hero: Q will be complete by March. The first 3 or 4 issues of Midnight’s War will be complete. The first three issues of Swan Knight’s Saga are complete, as well as at least two issues of Shade and several Quantum Mortis issues. As a result of our partnership with an up-and-coming Brazilian comics publisher and Chuck Dixon’s efforts, other comics that will be introduced on the new site in the coming year include, but are not limited to: The Awakener, The Hammer of Freedom, The Grey Claw, Lieutenant Bravo, Hecatomb, Jungle Sword, The Wagon From Hell, and Go Monster Go.

Arkhaven’s newest star: The Awakener

In connection with the new site, we are looking for hard core volunteers who have Photoshop to help us in the conversion process to the new format. If you’re into both a) comics and b) tedious and repetitive graphic work, shoot me an email. It’s not difficult, but there are a LOT of frames that need to be created between now and then. Note: I did not say if you know how to use Photoshop, but if you have it already. Arkhaven print subscribers will be receiving their print issues in January, digital subscribers will be receiving special badges and early access to the new site.

JUNIOR CLASSICS

950 of the 1300 or so sets of Vols. I-III have shipped. None of the demy octavo editions have shipped yet. We’re going to do another shipment of most of the rest of the royal octavos, then put the retail edition royals into general distribution through the bookstores in January. We’re working on the demy editions and will announce when they are ready to ship. The ebook editions of Vols I-III will be sent out in January. Vols IV-VI will first ship in royal in the Feb-Mar timeframe to the same address to which the first three volumes were shipped.

A NOTE ABOUT COMMUNICATIONS

Please note that we NEVER confirm that we’ve received an email from you regarding an address or whatever. If you do the math, you’ll understand why. Everything we do is focused on the actual process of producing and delivering the promised products, and it’s not possible to automate communications about that process ala Amazon for products that are still being created. Notice that orders from the Castalia Direct store and the Arkhaven/Castalia ebook/audiobook store do provide the usual confirmations because those products are in stock at the time the order is placed. If you want more regular updates, please consider joining SocialGalactic, as we regularly provide them there.

More to come later today.

DOJ reverses course

Less than a month after Attorney General Barr’s Sgt. Schulz-style “I see nussing” imitation, the Department of Justice has finally detected election fraud:

Senior Adviser to the Justice Department John Lott reveals voter fraud was rampant in this year’s elections. In his new study, Lott revealed an unusual pattern of subtracting Trump votes from the final tally and adding excess votes to Joe Biden.

He found more than 11,000 Trump votes were subtracted in Fulton County, Georgia and another 44,000 Trump votes were wiped out in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania.

Lott also discovered that Biden received 289,000 “excess” votes across five battleground states and it’s unclear where those votes come from. President Trump shared the study on Twitter. He said elections officials gave Biden hundreds-of-thousands of fake votes.

However, it’s possible that Barr was only playing dumb. If you parse his words carefully, he was merely stating that the DOJ had not “uncovered evidence”, which did not necessarily mean that the DOJ was unaware of evidence that other parties had uncovered.

“The Justice Department has not uncovered evidence of widespread voter fraud that would change the outcome of the 2020 presidential election.”

AZ Attorney General briefs lawsuit

The Arizona legislature just received some heavy reinforcements in their lawsuit against the corrupt Maricopa County supervisors

The Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich has filed a brief in support of Arizona legislature in the battle over whether the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors must comply with election-related subpoenas.

Earlier this month, the Maricopa Board of Supervisors voted 4-1 today defy the state lawmakers and resist complying with legislative subpoenas. Instead of allowing an audit, the board voted to file a lawsuit against lawmakers in state court, seeking to block the enforcement of the subpoenas.

The subpoenas were issued by Arizona lawmakers in response to claims that the election in Maricopa County was fraught with fraud. The lawmakers seek force county officials to allow an audit of the voting machines.

One might not unreasonably ask where the AZ Attorney General has been for the last eight weeks. But then, President Trump’s unprecedented exhibition of spinal steel has been causing the sudden discovery of backbones in some of the most unexpected individuals around the country.

Seems a little high

What I find interesting, for the purposes of comparison, is the historical monthly traffic of the sites that made up the core of Pajamas Media back in 2005. These numbers were taken directly from the business plan that allowed Pajamas Media to raise $7 million in venture capital.
  • Instapundit: 4,603,544
  • Michelle Malkin: 3,341,161
  • Little Green Footballs: 3,081,638
  • Volokh Conspiracy: 821,891,
  • Protein Wisdom: 415,940
  • Belmont Club: 308,198
  • Jawa Report: 306,295

15 years later, Instapundit has far more traffic while most of the others have a lot less. But that’s not the point of the observation. Rather, it is informative and educational to observe how smaller sites receive far more media attention, much of it flattering and supposedly indicative of importance, than more popular sites that refuse to respect the boundaries of the mainstream Narrative.

If you happen to be a fly-by or new reader who isn’t likely to stick around once the election crisis concludes, I would encourage you to take this one lesson with you: everything is fake. The news, the science, the hits, the celebrities, the bestsellers, the wealthy, the economic statistics… they are all elements of a false and ever-mutating narrative intended to shape your perceptions. Perception isn’t reality, but since perception always affects Man’s decision-making, shaping his perception is one way to change future reality.
