The DNC doubles down

It is looking more and more likely that Keith Ellison will be the next DNC chairman:

The Democratic National Committee is kicking a candidate out of the chairmanship race after he told The Hill that Rep. Keith Ellison (D-Minn.) should not be the party’s next leader because he is a Muslim.

In a Jan. 5 email to The Hill, Vincent Tolliver, a former House candidate in Arkansas, said that Ellison, the first Muslim elected to Congress, should not be chairman because of Islamic positions on homosexuality.

“His being a Muslim is precisely why DNC voters should not vote for him,” Tolliver wrote. “Muslims discriminate against gays. Islamic law is clear on the subject, and being gay is a direct violation of it. In some Muslim countries, being gay is a crime punishable by death.”

“Clearly, Mr. Ellison is not the person to lead the DNC or any other organization committed to not discriminating based on gender identity or sexual orientation,” Tolliver continued. “I’m shocked [the Human Rights Campaign] has been silent on the issue. A vote for Representative Ellison by any member of the DNC would be divisive and unconscionable, not to mention counterproductive to the immediate and necessary steps of rebuilding the Democratic Party.”

The Hill did not report on the remarks in early January because it was unclear whether Tolliver would be an active candidate for chair. However, on Saturday, Tolliver participated in the DNC-sanctioned candidates forum in Houston. The DNC announced on Tuesday that Tolliver would also be one of 11 candidates participating in the next forum in Detroit on Feb. 4.

But Tolliver is no longer invited to participate in the event.

“The Democratic Party welcomes all Americans from all backgrounds. What we do not welcome is people discriminating against others based on who they are or how they worship,” interim Chairwoman Donna Brazile said in a statement to The Hill.

I look forward to seeing the Democratic Party endorse both “love wins” and “gravity wins”. And maybe, just maybe, we will get Bannon 2024!

Alt-Right banned by Reddit

Reddit banned the Alt-Right subreddit today.

This community has been banned

This subreddit was banned due to a violation of our content policy, specifically, the proliferation of personal and confidential information.
Banned 2 hours ago.

My reaction? So what? What else did you expect? Every SJW-converged organization is eventually going to ban every group and individual to the right of CNN. Don’t be surprised, be prepared. You can be certain that r/The_Donald is next.

This blog is on Blogger, it has been on Blogger since 2003, but I back it up every week because I don’t know when SJW convergence will overcome the corporate objectives. At this point, Google and Amazon are SJW-amenable, but they are not yet fully converged because they are more interested in making money than in thought-policing. I still have Facebook and Twitter accounts, but I don’t use either them because they are converged to the point of uselessness to me.

Whatever absurd reason Reddit gives doesn’t matter. If the SJWs there can’t find an excuse, they’ll manufacture one. Andrew Torba managed to get his account banned from Twitter when he hadn’t even logged into it for months; he had, quite literally, done nothing at all.

Don’t whine, cry, or complain. Build your own institutions. Support the Alt-Tech organizations. You simply cannot expect to successfully lobby an authority that not only is not amenable, but is actively hostile to you, your beliefs, your nation, and everything you value.

Darkstream: Trump and the revival of heroism

Tonight at 7 PM Eastern I’ll be doing a Darkstream in which we’ll be discussing the heroics of the God-Emperor and how his actions fly in the face of modern anti-heroism. To find it once it goes live, search for #darkstream. I’m kind of excited about this one, since I received my new Rode microphone today. I hope it will improve the audio.

My thoughts on the topic were inspired by a recent post at the Castalia House blog, How Star Wars Stole Pulp, which you might like to read first.

What really happened is this: The audience didn’t abandon F&SF. F&SF abandoned its audience. Its appeal became more selective.

Post-WWII was the era of the Campbellian Silver Age, the era of “Men with Screwdrivers” SF. Action and adventure were childish and frankly embarrassing, as were purple prose and laser swords. Barsoom? Silly. Buck Rogers? Childish. Northwest Smith? A gunslinger, not a scientist. And this was the age of SCIENCE.

Science was the focus, technology the touchstone. Stories had to be cerebral, intellectual. They had to be REALISTIC. Real science, none of this fuzzy-headed soft science stuff. SF had to shake off the wooly-headed thinking of Fantasy, the embarrassing antics of Space Opera, the adolescent focus on Adventure and Action. SF was serious business. Real Literature. It was time to grow up.

UPDATE: The replay is available here.

You can’t break Brexit

Despite the shameless interference in the process of non-British people in forcing a parliamentary vote on the successful Leave referendum, Brexit is expected to proceed after tonight’s vote:

MPs are poised for a landmark vote on Brexit that effectively makes the process irreversible. For the first time, the Commons will vote in principle on a law that gives the Prime Minister power to trigger Britain’s exit from the EU.

Three votes will take place tonight, starting at 7pm. First MPs will vote on a wrecking amendment tabled by the SNP. It expected to be heavily defeated. The crucial vote is the second one at 7.15pm to give the new law a ‘second reading’. It is expected to be carried by a landslide but with about 100 opponents. The third sets the time table for the rest of the bill’s timetable – a relative formality.

Let Britannia rule herself again. The benefit of the delay is that, barring any last-minute shenanigans by the Conservative Party, with both a popular referendum and the British Parliament behind Brexit, the EU cannot pretend that Britain’s exit and reclamation of national sovereignty is not the democratically expressed will of the people any longer.

UPDATE: BREXIT BEGINS!

Britain passed the point of no return in its historic battle to cut ties with Brussels tonight as MPs backed the Brexit Bill. The Commons endorsed the legislation by 498 votes to 114 after the government saw off a desperate bid by more than 100 Remoaners to block it.

The God-Emperor is not your win

The Last Refuge hammers #NeverTrumpers trying to surreptitiously board the Trump Train in light of the God-Emperor’s well-received Supreme Court nomination:

Sorry #NeverTrumpers, but you don”t get to dismount your high horse and celebrate the nomination of Judge Neil Gorsuch today.  This is NOT your victory, this is ours!

There is a gobsmacking level of pontificating self-righteousness visible from the collective proletariat within your crony-conservative movement who made the decision to formulate their political argument from a position of opposition.

Perhaps it would be different if you framed your antagonism from a position of advocacy, but that wasn’t the direction you chose.  No, you chose a specific position of opposition as clearly evident within your chosen mantra “Never Trump”.

Perhaps it would be different if you ever had a come-to-Jesus moment and apologized immediately following the November election.  Then again, when your opinion of your own self-importance is this high, those humble words are just as foreign as your understanding of the movement that won.

You don’t get to frame the entire construct of your argument around opposition to a team, and then claim benefit to the outcome of victory.  Stay on your high-horse, move along and ride off into that proverbial land of irrelevance; you’re dead here.

Save your dismount for another defining “conservative” assembly where you can gather at CPAC again and give a standing ovation to House Speaker Paul Ryan a month after he eliminates the debt ceiling and passes a $2 trillion OmniBus spending bill, funding all of the progressive priorities you hypocritically claim to oppose; you’re good at that….

You had a choice. You chose a direction, you lost; and you damn near lost the entire friggin’ country. Just because the team you ridiculed and attacked has overcome all opposition and gained victory, that doesn’t mean you get to backtrack now and expect the bruised and bloodied recipients to forget those who launched the stones and arrows.

Abase yourself before the God-Emperor, #NeverTrump. Shed copious tears of self-remorse and flagellate yourself in public. Then you will be forgiven. Provisionally.

But you will never be trusted. Nor will you lead anyone’s opinions ever again. Remember, the God-Emperor’s inquisitors are watching, and they can scent heresy.

Now, get on board the Trump Train, find a turret, take the safety off, and shoot left.

Smoking out the Deep State

They say “internal dissent memo”. The God-Emperor says “resignation letter”:

About 900 U.S. State Department officials signed an internal dissent memo protesting a travel ban by U.S. President Donald Trump on refugees and travelers from seven Muslim-majority countries, a source familiar with the document said on Tuesday, in a rebellion against the new president’s policies.

A senior State Department official confirmed the memorandum had been submitted to acting Secretary of State Tom Shannon through the department’s “dissent channel,” a process in which officials can express unhappiness over policy.

White House spokesman Sean Spicer said on Monday he was aware of the memo but warned career diplomats that they should either “get with the program or they can go.”

A draft of the dissent memo seen by Reuters argued that the executive order would sour relations with affected countries, inflame anti-American sentiment and hurt those who sought to visit the United Spates for humanitarian reasons. It said the policy “runs counter to core American values of non-discrimination, fair play and extending a warm welcome to foreign visitors and immigrants.

I don’t know about you, but I’m sensing a Reaganesque “air traffic controller” opportunity here. I doubt it will escape Darth Bannon. Let them double down. Then sweep the leg.

Drain the swamp!

When will the cucks concede?

Not yet, apparently. Conservatives are delighted with Donald Trump’s Supreme Court selection, but the Never Trumpers are still cluck-clucking away.

Conservatives were effusive in their praise on Tuesday evening for President Donald Trump’s choice for the U.S. Supreme Court, Neil Gorsuch.

Faith & Freedom Coalition Chairman Ralph Reed said:

President Trump won 81 percent of the evangelical vote in no small measure because he made an ironclad pledge that if elected he would fill the vacancy on the US Supreme Court with a strict constructionist who would respect the Constitution and the rule of law, not legislate from the bench. We never doubted then-candidate Trump’s sincerity or commitment, and by nominating Judge Gorsuch, he has now kept that promise. Judge Gorsuch is a widely respected jurist whose razor-sharp intellect is complemented by his temperament and the knowledge of the law. He is exactly who the nation needs as a Supreme Court Justice in the model of the late Antonio Scalia. Faith & Freedom Coalition is thrilled by this nomination and will work tirelessly for the confirmation of Judge Gorsuch.

Michael A. Needham, CEO of Heritage Action for America, said:

Judge Neil Gorsuch is a nominee ‘very much in the mold’ of the late Justice Antonin Scalia. President Trump deserves credit for fulfilling his campaign pledge by nominating an individual who will, based on his record, interpret the text of the Constitution rather than create unwritten rights supposedly hidden between the lines. The usurpations of the rule of law, substituting for the will of the people as embodied in democratically enacted legislation rights nowhere to be found in our Constitution itself, only serves to divide our nation. Judge Gorsuch is an outstanding choice, and now the Senate must prepare to carry out its “Advise and Consent” role as it has for the past 227 years.

Meanwhile the left is in another panic: “‘More Extreme than Justice Scalia’ — Left-wing Activists Sound the Alarm Over Gorsuch” But the cucks and media cons are still aligning themselves with the Left and virtue-signaling their distaste for the God-Emperor. Benny Shapiro is whining about how there is no “Master Plan” while Jonah Goldberg is crying about how Steve Bannon’s master plan isn’t “good governance”. It’s absolutely absurd!

Who can still take these guys seriously? They’re not principled. It’s becoming eminently clear that they are defeatist anklebiters who are psychologically unequipped for winning. Jonah writes:

Bannon has said he’s a “Leninist” but he’s really more of a Trotskyist because he fancies himself the leader of an international populist-nationalist right-wing movement, exporting anti-“globalist” revolution. In that role, his status as an enabler of Trump’s instinct to shoot — or tweet — from the hip seems especially ominous…. The Bannon Way might work on the campaign trail, but it doesn’t translate into good governance. It’s possible — and one must hope — that Trump can learn this fact on the job. But what if he doesn’t? He could put the country in serious peril.

The Left is being rolled back on every front, and these sad sacks are wringing their hands? It’s going to be amusing to see them start changing their tune once the God-Emperor’s endeavors start bearing positive fruit.

Neil Gorsuch for Supreme Court

This is NOW CONFIRMED.

Two high-ranking administration sources have confirmed to Independent Journal Review that President Donald Trump’s Supreme Court pick is Colorado Judge Neil Gorsuch.

Gorsuch, who recently traveled to Washington, D.C., was put on Trump’s short list for the appointment after he met with the then-president elect after the 2016 election.

Speaking on background, an administration source instrumental to the SCOTUS selection process tells IJR, “Yes. It is Gorsuch. 100 percent. The Hardiman thing is a head fake.” Thomas Hardiman is the other Judge Trump was considering for the vacancy, who is also in Washington, D.C.

A second source within the Trump administration confirmed IJR’s reporting.

The source claims that Judge Gorsuch will join the president Tuesday night at the White House at 8 PM for the announcement.

He looks pretty good, better than Hardiman, actually.

Gorsuch has made some past statements that seem to indicate how he would make major Supreme Court decisions. Most notably, he has praised the late Justice Antonin Scalia’s dedication to “textualism,” or the interpretation of laws based on the actual text rather than trying to decipher the “intent” of lawmakers or other potential consequences.

“Judges should instead strive, if humanly and so imperfectly, to apply the law as it is, focusing backward, not forward, and looking to text, structure, and history to decide what a reasonable reader at the time of the events in question would have understood the law to be,” Gorsuch said in a speech to Case Western Reserve University’s law school shortly after Scalia passed away.

Further, Gorsuch can also be described as a constitutionalist and adheres to “originalism” when interpreting the U.S. Constitution. In other words, he believes the Constitution should be interpreted as America’s founders intended.

UPDATE: Confirmed. It is Gorsuch.

UPDATE: Some big stories being hidden under the main news story. It looks like H1B visas will come with a minimum salary of $130k. That’s massive. Also, the administration has made it clear that it does not intend to permit the percentage of the population of Muslim to rise; it does not want to see the permanent problems that France and Germany have been experiencing for generations in the USA.

This is not Christian leadership

Here is the thing. There are some jobs where you can make certain mistakes, apologize, and just keep doing them. Being a Christian pastor is not one of them:

According to the woman, Simmons came over to discuss starting a business and providing less fortunate kids with clothes and shoes,” but they ended up in bed together. The woman told police she and Simmons began “establishing a relationship” last October.

After the husband interrupted the tryst, he yelled “I’m gonna kill him” and ran to the master bedroom for his handgun; Simmons fled the apartment naked and hid behind a nearby fence.

The wife then called the police and her husband left with Simmons’ clothes, wallet and car keys, which he threatened to drop off at the church. He also threatened to expose Simmons on Facebook.

The wife told police her husband never threatened her and she declined to press charges. Simmons also declined to press charges. State Attorney Jack Campbell, “citing the interests of all involved,” decided against prosecution.

After phone negotiations with police, the husband arranged to return Simmons’ belongings. The husband turned over the handgun to NAACP Tallahassee Branch President Dale Landry.

“My prayers to the families involved and the church and our community,“ said Landry. “May God guide all our hearts and minds as we move through this period.”

Simmons, who has led the independent church since 2005, said he won’t quit.

“What I want from God, I have already received – that’s his forgiveness, ” Simmons said in his address. “What I am asking of our members is your prayers and your forgiveness.”

In response, the congregation stood and applauded for several minutes.

No, you don’t forgive and applaud for a charlatan like this. If the man hasn’t resigned, he clearly hasn’t repented. One of the primary banes of the modern Churchian pseudo-church is easy, repentance-free, consequence-free forgiveness.

I would not hesitate to leave a church that hesitated to fire a pastor guilty of adultery. There is virtually no chance that this guy isn’t going to do the same damn thing again at the earliest opportunity. He’s obviously a con artist; I particularly enjoyed the lame cover story of “providing less fortunate kids with clothes and shoes”.

Nobody is perfect. But nobody has to be a leader either. And if you can’t keep yourself off the women in the congregation, then you can’t be a Christian leader. Period.
