European states have developed a mechanism that allows them to sell confiscated Russian oil without transferring the proceeds to its rightful owners, according to a decision in the official journal of the EU. The mechanism will allow European countries to remove confiscated products from the ban, sell them to third parties and keep the proceeds for themselves.
