If you’re worried that your Very Important Comment may have been lost, then for the love of all that is Good, Beautiful, and True, accept with equanimity that possibility as The Decretive Will of God, An Act of Nature, An Unfortunate Accident, or even The Insidious Work of the Father of Lies, whatever may happen to best suit your particular philosophical perspective. FFS, this isn’t a difficult concept!

All that adding “OT” to your off-topic comment accomplishes is to make it clear that you know you’re a jackass and you’re going to try to hijack the mic even though you know you’re not supposed to. Furthermore, if your Very Important Breaking News is a link to Drudge, Twitter, Instapundit, or the AP News Wire, then there is absolutely no need to “alert” anyone to anything.
