Mailvox: America and Not-America

A people have the right to define themselves, whether they are in Texas or Catalonia:

I am in Dallas for a long weekend with my parents, and we went to the State Fair of Texas. Featured event: Grambling State vs. Prairie View AMU (both HBCUs) at the Cotton Bowl. We decided to go for the marching bands.

A bit to my surprise, everyone I could see in the stands stood for the national anthem. (The teams were not on the field at the time.) More to my surprise, there is a black national anthem. And they all joined in singing it, fists raised, where they hadn’t sung the national anthem.

Takeaway? They consider themselves blacks first, and Americans second.

They consider themselves to be a distinct people, a distinct nation, as is their right. It’s going to be fascinating to see how those who have always considered Confederate secessionists to have been racists and traitors try to get their heads around the growing movement towards black nationalism, particularly because black nationalists have no more use for white liberals than they do for white conservatives or the white Alt-Right.

We American Indians have our segregated and sovereign reservations. Why shouldn’t American whites and American blacks exercise the same Freedom of Association that is their unalienable right?

Partition of the United States is coming, whether you believe it or not, and it will most likely begin within the next two decades. I hope it will be accomplished peacefully, and with a reasonable amount of justice and good will on every side, but I am skeptical that this will be possible, in part because the vast majority of people are still hopelessly delusional about the very nature of the multinational empire in which they reside.

Liberals never learn

They never learn that when the Revolution comes, they are always the first ones lined up against the wall:

Edward Enninful started his editorship of Vogue magazine with a clutter-free desk — and soon he’ll have an empty office to match. Following the mass exodus of posh girls under Enninful’s new regime, an insider says the fashion bible’s remaining staff have been offered voluntary redundancy, as the Ghana-born stylist sweeps out ‘every last Sloaney sloth’.

When Enninful was announced as British Vogue’s first male and black editor in April, succeeding Alexandra Shulman, he is said to have told friends that his priority was to ‘get rid of the posh girls’.

He started his purge of the toffs by firing long-serving fashion director Lucinda Chambers, who aired her grievances in an incendiary interview with the fashion website Vestoj. Baronet’s daughter Emily Sheffield, the magazine’s deputy editor and Samantha Cameron’s sister, announced her exit in July. Sheffield was followed by editor-at-large Fiona Golfar, managing editor Frances Bentley, and several junior staff.

Terrified well-bred Vogue staffers said the office felt like ‘the night of the long knives’.

Poor posh girls. It’s hard to celebrate your virtuous lack of racism when you’re fired by a black man. Liberal whites never understand that blacks like Enninful simply don’t want them around any more than they want conservative whites or any other non-blacks around. In fact, they tend to have more wary respect for Asians and Hispanics, because at least the other minority groups tend to lack the delusions of racial equality and post-racial identity that afflict both white conservatives and liberals alike.

I always thought it was mildly amusing the way that the sports media always ignored the way that a team’s entire coaching staff would often go mostly black, if not all black, as soon as a black coach was hired. But then again, noticing reality is racist.

I find the entire situation to be hilarious. No one does bitchy like an entitled, middle-class British woman: One fashionista who unsuccessfully applied for the editor’s job sniffed: ‘It’s as though we entered Crufts and the cat won.’

20+ dead in Vegas shootings

Automatic fire at a country music festival near Mandalay Bay Hotel. Multiple shooters reported and five hotels on lockdown. Attack happened while Jason Aldean was playing. Video of the first two minutes of the attack.

Confirmed reports of 50+ dead, 200+ injured. The clattering sounded like AK-47s on full auto.

No reports yet on whether it is Muslims, Black Lives Matter, or someone else. But it looks like Religion of Peace. ISIS featured the Las Vegas Strip in a video four months ago.

UPDATE: Las Vegas sheriff confirms 20+ dead.

UPDATE: Some of the witnesses are saying the shooters were Mexicans, not Muslim Arabs, and they threatened the crowd before the shooting. The competence and body count is in line with that suggestion.

UPDATE: Possible suspect: Geary Danley from Fayetteville, Arkansas​. He is married to Marilou Danley. Geary is a fan of the The Rachel Maddow Show​ and liked several pages on Facebook​ including Thank You Obama, Anti-Trump Army, Progressive Day, Organizing for Action, Not My President, Proud to Be A Democrat, Fight Trump, Boycott All Things Trump, and Impeach Trump.

UPDATE: The Las Vegas Police Department said the suspected gunman, who was believed to be a local resident, was on 32nd floor of Mandalay Bay hotel. Police responded to the scene, engaged him and he is now dead. Law enforcement officials identified the suspect as 64-year-old Stephen Paddock.

Fire your players, Art

The owners are starting to get just a little bit shaky after seeing the ratings drop another 10 percent while fans burn their gear and season tickets:

To Steelers Nation:

I want to reach out to you, the members of Steelers Nation, based on what I believe is a misperception about our players’ intentions in not taking the field for the National Anthem in Chicago. The intentions of Steelers players were to stay out of the business of making political statements by not taking the field. Unfortunately, that was interpreted as a boycott of the anthem – which was never our players’ intention.

Our players come from many different backgrounds and are united by what it means to play for the Pittsburgh Steelers. They are active in their communities and participate regularly in events designed to give back to those communities. And they appreciate the support they get from Steelers fans around the country and here at home. I also know that our players have tremendous respect for the members of our military services, including their teammate Alejandro Villanueva. There was never any desire on the part of our players to show disrespect for our service members.

Yesterday, I received an email from a Steelers fan who said tell the players to just play football. That is exactly what they wanted to do. They wanted their sole focus to be on playing the game, while also coming together as a unified team.

The main thing we can do is learn from this and strive to come together remaining unified as a football team. I believe we are capable of accomplishing this with the support of our fans. Steelers Nation is made up of the best fans in the National Football League. We appreciate your continued support of our players, coaches and staff.

 He chose… poorly. It’s rather remarkable how many owners are choosing to side with the media, the players, and the league instead of the one thing they actually need: the fans.

Ethnic cleansing in Chicago

Chicago is going the way of Compton:

New census statistics show the Hispanic population grew by 17,000 in a one-year period. For the first time, Hispanics are the second-largest racial group in the city. Meanwhile, the African-American population is shrinking, with 42,000 moving out.

In Little Village, it’s not hard to spot the influence and heritage. At Dulcelandia, a candy store, sales and the number of customers have increased since the business opened in 1995. This would seem to reflect new U.S. Census data showing the Hispanic population in Chicago jumping from 786,000 to 803,000 between 2015 and 2016.

This means about 30 percent of the Windy City’s population is now of Hispanic or Latino descent.

In another decade, Chicago will be majority Hispanic/Latino. Americans can posture and preen about racial and ethnic equality all they like. But identity politics are rapidly replacing ideology politics, just as new ethnicities are rapidly replacing America’s blacks and whites alike. The pattern is pretty straightforward: blacks chase whites in order to live in white-dominated societies. Then the more ruthless Hispanics and Asians move in to the white-abandoned locations to chase the blacks out. It’s all fun and games until the whites run out of places to retreat.

This isn’t going to end well. Sooner or later, the 100-year retreat is going to end. The only question is whether it will end in a manner more akin to South Africa and Rhodesia or Yugoslavia. I tend to suspect the latter, but I could be wrong. White Americans aren’t showing any more fight than the white South Africans did. The South Africans had guns and nukes too, but what they lacked was the moral confidence to use them.

And moral confidence is one thing that White America does not possess today.
