The CW has put in development a Batwoman series for 2019 consideration. It hails from former The Vampire Diaries executive producer Caroline Dries and the architect of the CW Arrowverse, Greg Berlanti.
In Batwoman, written by Dries based on the DC characters, armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind, Kate Kane soars onto the streets of Gotham as Batwoman, an out lesbian and highly trained street fighter primed to snuff out the failing city’s criminal resurgence. But don’t call her a hero yet. In a city desperate for a savior, Kate must overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham’s symbol of hope.
Batwoman already has been a trailblazer for LGBTQ+ representation in comics. After a long hiatus, she was reintroduced to the DC comic universe in 2006 when she was established as a Jewish lesbian, becoming the first-ever lesbian superhero title DC character. Now Batwoman would become the first gay lead character — male or female — of a live-action superhero series.
A passion for social justice! A flair for speaking her mind! Kee-rikey. At this point, all we are going to have to do is show up. And while I can’t share any details of Castalia’s coming foray into movies AND television yet, things are looking increasingly optimistic. We’re also going to hold a Brainstorm about the comic store campaign next week.

Children’s book creator Jed Alexander, who wrote and drew (Mostly) Wordless and Red went after a number of comic book professionals and called them “white supremacists.”
Alexander targeted writer Chuck Dixon, artist Dave Dorman, and creator Ethan Van Sciver on a public Facebook post by Howard Chaykin. Chaykin merely posted the cover to his Image Comics series The Divided States of Hysteria and commented, “I told you last year, but did you listen?”
This post provoked Alexander to label Dixon, Dorman, and Van Sciver “white supremacists.”
“There are white supremacists in your industry. They are your peers. I’m talking about: Chuck Dixon, Dave Dorman and Ethan Van Sciver just for starters. Dixon who collaborates with Vox Day, a known white supremacist, on a comic called Alt Hero, an Alt Right superhero. Dorman, who will soon be collaborating with Dixon, and is a supporter of “Comicsgate.” Ethan Van Sciver who has put himself at the center of “comicsgate” a movement that actively harasses and threatens women, people of color and trans people in or related to the comics industry. It’s easy to say this is none of your business, you know nothing about these people, this has nothing to do with you. But this is your industry. You are known for being outspoken about what matters to you. About racism, about anti-semitism, about right wing extremism. This is your industry and publishers have become quiet enablers. You don’t have to be. Right now you’re writing a comic about the comics industry. Whether you like it or not, this is a part of that story. You have a voice.“
I’m an American Indian, you moron. You could call me a Red Reservationist, but you cannot legitimately call me a white supremacist any more than you can call me the Chief Rabbi of Israel, the President of Nigeria, or the Pope.
I also sent John Trent of Bounding Into Comics a note to clarify my position on these matters and they posted my response as a separate article there.
I read with interest Mr. Alexander’s defamatory statements about me. I hope you will allow me to set the record straight.
I am not a “white supremacist”. To the contrary, as an American Indian, I wholeheartedly support both the right of free association as well as the right of the American Indian to our segregated, white-free reservations.
I do not believe in “white nationalism” or “black nationalism” or “yellow nationalism”. To confuse broad racial categories with nations is a serious category error.
I oppose “white nationalism”, “civic nationalism”, and globalism as forms of imperialism that inevitably lead over time to civil strife and ethnic war.
I do not know Mr. Alexander’s heritage, but the irony of him labeling an American Indian who happens to be the great-grandson of a Mexican revolutionary “a white supremacist” is substantial indeed.
I’m not the only one whose background Alexander obviously did not know. Timothy Lim, as it happens, is of Chinese and Filipino descent. As an astonishingly insightful and good-looking Native American once wrote, SJWs always project.

Sure enough, his contract with the DWP was swiftly terminated on the grounds that his refusal to use the preferred pronouns of people who identify as the opposite gender could be considered harassment as defined by the 2010 Equality Act.Three weeks on, he is in little doubt that his career is over.
If people can be disemployed for refusing to believe that gender is self-determined or that one group of people murdered a specific number of a different group of people in the 20th century, then they can certainly be disemployed, or even deported, for refusing to believe that God exists and Jesus Christ is Lord.
The fraudulent nature of the Enlightenment has been revealed. Freedom of speech and expression was always just an excuse to try to dislodge Christianity from its dominant position in the West and thereby destroy Western Civilization.
A DWP spokesperson told the Mail Mr Mackereth made it clear in training that he would refuse to use pronouns which did not match his own view of a person’s biological gender and that the Equality Act made it unlawful to discriminate on the grounds of a ‘protected characteristic’ such as gender reassignment. She added: ‘We expect all assessors to handle assessments sensitively and adhere to the Equality Act 2010.’
Observe that, as usual, equality is the intellectual justification for evil. Equality is evil and Thomas Jefferson’s flights of rhetorical fancy notwithstanding, all men are most certainly not created equal in any way, legal, material, or spiritual. Equality is the retarded version of “ye shall be as gods” and nothing good ever comes of it.
Or, as you might suspect, the lack thereof. So, back in February, before we found our current colorist, I was contacting different colorists to see what our options are. Ethan van Sciver recommended a gentleman by the name of Bill Baumann, and I quite liked his approach to coloring so I contacted him. For some inexplicable reason, that email was posted on Twitter today.
I contacted Mr. Baumann to ask how this extraordinarily unprofessional publication of my email to him had come to be in the possession of Corey Hodgdon, and he didn’t see fit to explain himself. But Spacebunny did bring the following Facebook post to my attention; it appears that Mr. Baumann is foolishly attempting to ingratiate himself with the SJWs in the comics industry. Who knows, perhaps they will even reward him for behaving in this manner.
Of course, like all SJWs, Baumann is lying. I never said anything about being in the forefront of either Gamergate or Comicsgate; I never mentioned anything about Comicsgate and I’m not involved in it anyhow. And while I am, of course, the Leader of GamerGate, I did not see fit to mention that. I didn’t brag about anything, but I did give Mr. Baumann an accurate idea of who I am and Arkhaven stands for. The pretense that he didn’t know anything about me until he Googled it after our conversation is entirely false. I warned him that both the project and I were considered to be controversial by some in the comics industry and even told him that we had no problem with him using a pen name; he assured me that he had no problem working with us at all.
As for his over-inflated rates, he must be quite a bit cheaper these days, because the rates he quoted me didn’t seem unreasonable at all for a top-flight colorist. In fact, I was planning to take him up on coloring some covers until discovering how hopelessly unprofessional he is today. Restaurants are learning the hard way that they are not in the business of politics. Not for long, anyhow:
Reviewers flooded the Yelp page of a Canadian restaurant with one-star reviews after a manager was fired for kicking out a man wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat.
The Teahouse in Vancouver’s Stanley Park has come under fire for the incident, which occurred less than a week after White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders was kicked out of a Virginia restaurant.
The negative reviews came from both sides of the aisle, with some critiquing the restaurant for kicking out the patron, and other tearing into the restaurant for firing the manager.
“As a person with a strong moral backbone, I had to take a stand against this guest’s choice of headwear while in my former place of work. Absolutely no regrets,” the former employee told CBC News. The restaurant owners said they fired the employee because his actions did not align with their policy of hospitality and inclusiveness.
It’s about time the Right joined the Culture War. 50 years of constant retreat haven’t worked out so well, after all.
It is not enough to have an evil snow queen or rat king, the good little man who was kind and loving must be warped beyond recognition into something vile, lest the villain be anyone who we might accidentally admire.
The same thing happened in Disney’s Maleficent.
Disney cartoons feature many fine villains, but none stand out for their force and majesty as much as Malificent, the wicked fairy who is so angry that she has been slighted at a christening that she curses the family and tries to kill the child.
Malificent is impressive. She is funny. She curses an innocent child, just because she is miffed. When, sixteen years later, she leanrs that her minions, goblins and gargoyls, are still looking in cradles for a missing baby– instead of a young lady who has grown up–Malificent utters her eerie, silvery, laugh. Then she blasts them with a lightning bolt from her magic wand and declares: “Oh, they’re hopeless. A disgrace to the forces of evil!”
But Malificent herself is no disgrace. When it comes time to fight the prince she turns into a gigantic dragon and calls up on the most infernal forces of all.
This gives her a majesty that fits with the evil magnificence of her name. She was spectacular in her villainy.
Too spectacular for the Degenerati, apparently.
In the original Sleeping Beauty – in some ways the most beautiful of all the Disney cartoons – the backdrops were done by a well-known painter. ( I used to sell his works when I worked at a gallery.) – Malificent curses king Stephan, a man who is both a kind king and a loving husband and father. His only crime is that he left the evil fairy off his guest list. He is good, and he is innocent. The horror that befalls his nation is appalling, and he is undeserving of this terrible fate.
In the recent movie about a being who happens to have a similar look and name to our magnificent villainess, the main character, Faux-Malificent, is not majestic. She is weak and innocent. She falls in love with a man, and this dastardly individual betrays her sweet love and cuts off her wings, leaving her bereft, a victim.
How sad. How tragic. What a victim she is. No wonder she grew up to be such a…unpleasant fairy creature.
In the movie, that man is…the future King Stephan.
It is Geppetto all over again. Big-hearted Geppetto cannot be kindly, he has to be an evil mastermind. Good-hearted King Stephan cannot be innocent, he has to be the cad who screwed over the future villainess.
In modern stories, good men become cads and creeps so that the bad people, like Malificent and the Big Bad Wolf, can be misunderstood, pathetic. What effect do these changes have on the story? They mitigate the wickedness. If the villain is now a victim, then the villainy is now justified.
This is why Arkhaven is eventually going to surpass Marvel and DC. They cannot bear to address either virtue or wickedness.

IDW Publishing’s Editorial Director of Graphic Novels & Collections Justin Eisinger threatened to kill President Donald Trump and threatened violence against his supporters. Eisinger implied President Donald Trump should be taken to the guillotine and have his head chopped off just like they did during the French Revolution. But before he threatened to kill Trump via guillotine he promoted violence against Trump supporters by asking a reporter if she punched a Trump supporter in the face.
We’re in this to win this. But this isn’t a one-shot deal or a summer-long campaign. It’s going to be a long march to take an entire industry away from our cultural enemies. Fortunately, they are not only evil, they are also sick, stupid, and emotionally incontinent.

Rev. Rob Schenck, a prominent evangelical minister and founding president of the Dietrich Bonhoeffer Institute, said Tuesday that evangelical Christians “sold” their principles in supporting President Trump and called for a return to the message of the Gospel.
“The justification for support of Trump is he is seen as Cyrus, a megalomaniac mass murderer, so I guess that qualifies,” said Schenck at a luncheon in Washington, D.C., for his new book Costly Grace. “It’s the ends justifying the means. We support this ungodly character with massive flaws so we can get what he’s giving us. We did a deal with Donald Trump. We sold our principles if not our souls to get a laundry list of promises.”
In his book, Schenck discusses his 1970s conversion from nominal Judaism to Christianity and his subsequent 1980s political activism as a “leader of the most extreme wing of the anti-abortion movement.”
In the preface to Costly Grace, Schenck writes about rediscovering the life and writings of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, an evangelical German pastor and spy who was hanged in an extermination camp near the end of World War II because of his opposition to Adolf Hitler. Schenck writes that he felt Bonhoeffer’s time reflects our own.
“My thesis was simple: For American evangelicals, the lines between theology and politics have become blurred, eroding the boundaries that distinguish the spiritual from the temporal, generating confusion among many believers about their Christian and political identities, exposing them to the temptation of political idolatry,” he said. “What had happened to the German Christians was happening to us.”
Schenck now leads the Dietrich Bonhoeffer Institute, a nonprofit institution that seeks to apply Bonhoeffer’s theological and ethical insights to the social concerns of modern times, through lectures, discussions, and published material. Since his discovery of Bonhoeffer, he now tries to “liberate the evangelical community from a politicized gospel and to urge partisan conservatives to move beyond social battles and forsake the politics of hate, fear, and violence,” according to his book. Describing his current political views during the meeting, he said, “I have far more in common with my mainline brothers and the Episcopal bishop of Washington.”
I have no doubt at all that Schenck has everything in common with them. It’s much more likely that this prominent guy, this eminent personage, is a Satan-worshipping globalist than a genuine Christian. Literally everything these infiltrators do is focused on convincing Christians, conservatives, Americans, nationalists, and whites to unilaterally disarm so they can be conquered by their enemies.
Schenck also spoke out against American evangelicals’ “embrace of the popular gun culture.” To illustrate his point, he pulled out a Bible that doubled as a gun holster, as gasps erupted from the crowd. “How did we go for our reverence for the Second Commandment and replace that with reverence for the Second Amendment?” Schenck said.
Literally EVERYTHING. Hey, the God-Emperor has already promised us Space Marines, so it can’t be too much longer until he gives us Inquisition and Crusade as well.
