Mostly innocuous

The New York Post corroborates Steve Bannon’s statement that there were 25,000 images on one of the Hunter Biden laptops.

Neither Hunter Biden’s lawyer nor Joe Biden’s campaign have disputed the validity of the trove of data that The Post obtained after being extracted from a MacBook Pro laptop. The owner of a Delaware computer repair shop said the device was dropped off in April 2019 but never retrieved.

A computer camera roll of nearly 25,000 images is loaded with sexually explicit selfies and porn (which The Post is not publishing), but also has snapshots from Biden’s childhood and vacations.

And while some of the more than 11,550 emails involve Biden’s former job on the board of the Ukrainian energy company Burisma and his dealings with the now-bankrupt CEFC China Energy Co., most of his messages are innocuous and personal in nature.

So that part of the scandal is real. We’re still waiting to learn if the darker aspects will be documented.

Next time it will be fire

Flying the Rainbow flag always struck me as foolishly daring God to do something about human wickedness. But all He ever promised was not to drown the world again. The rainbow isn’t just a promise, it’s also a warning: the next time it will be fire.

CALIFORNIA: The staggering scale of California’s wildfires in 2020 continues to grow. The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection says as of Thursday wildfires have scorched nearly 4,844 square miles (12,545 square kilometers) so far this year. Six of the top 20 largest fires in state history have occurred this year as well.

OREGON: Authorities in Oregon now say more than 500,000 people statewide have been forced to evacuate because of wildfires. The latest figures from Thursday evening come from the Oregon Office of Emergency Management. That’s over 10{5274a41d3bd2aa3d5829764fe19e8a7ecbc79c108731aad5f1ff2d292e60e2b4} of the state’s 4.2 million population. Oregon Gov. Kate Brown said more than 900,000 acres have burned across the state in the last several days – nearly double the amount of land that usually burns in a typical year.

WASHINGTON: Wildfires have scorched nearly 937 square miles (2,426 kilometers) in Washington state this week, Gov. Jay Inslee said Thursday as he toured the devastated remains of the town of Malden.

Some will say that it is “ironic” that concerns over air quality have led to the burning of these Promethean-run states. But it is the rejection of God that is the beginning of blindness.

Feds 1, Antifa 0

U.S. Marshals shot and killed the murderer of a Trump supporter in Portland:

Law enforcement agents shot and killed an antifa supporter on Thursday as they moved to arrest him in the fatal shooting of a right-wing activist who was part of a pro-Trump caravan in Portland, Ore., officials said.

The suspect, Michael Forest Reinoehl, 48, was shot by officers from a federally led fugitive task force during the encounter in Lacey, Wash., southwest of Seattle, according to four law enforcement officials familiar with the investigation.

Lt. Ray Brady of the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office said in an interview that the suspect being sought by the law enforcement team had exited an apartment and got into a vehicle.

“As they attempted to apprehend him, there was gunfire,” Lieutenant Brady said. He said four law enforcement officers fired their weapons.

You wonder if Miles Mathis might write about this one someday, but however you look at it, three fewer Antifa can only be a good thing. It also tends to underline the legitimacy of the shootings by The Hero Kyle Rittenhouse.

It’s informative to observe that the Feds were able to quickly locate him when the Portland police couldn’t despite the fact that he was out giving public interviews.

The Beirut port explosion

I don’t have any theories about this myself, although there is certainly no shortage of speculation about the nature of the blast:

Survivors of a cataclysmic explosion that devastated the Lebanese capital of Beirut last night were picking through the remains of their city for victims today as the death toll topped 100 and was expected to continue rising, with more than 4,000 wounded.

Beirut, once known as the Paris of the Middle East, resembled a huge scrapyard as the sun rose on Wednesday – with barely a building left unscathed in a blast caused by 2,750 tons of ammonium nitrate that exploded with a fifth of the power of the atomic bomb that levelled Hiroshima.

Street after street, neighbourhood after neighbourhood, buildings were left without roofs or windows, their interiors shredded by the force of the explosion – believed to have been sparked when a welder caused a fire at the port, which in turn set light to a warehouse storing chemicals which had been seized from a ship six years ago.

The one thing that does look a little strange is the fact that the chemicals were supposedly seized from a ship six years ago. That seems a long time to leave such a large quantity of dangerous material just lying around the port. On the other hand, Beirut hasn’t been a particular focus for massive violence for quite some time now.

Feel free to speculate amongst yourselves.

Color me dubious

UNCW professor Mike Adams died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to a news release from the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office.

Detectives began their investigation in partnership with the medical examiner and it was ascertained that Mr. Adams committed suicide with a single gunshot wound to the head,” the news release stated.

No one else was in the home at the time of the incident and no foul play is suspected, the sheriff’s office says.

Because he was so depressed about being paid more than $500k to go and do whatever he wanted? I am… skeptical.

Corona-chan comes for Prince Charles

Prince Charles has tested positive for coronavirus, suffering mild symptoms. He is self-isolating at his home in Scotland with the Duchess of Cornwall, who does not have the virus, Clarence House has confirmed. A statement released on Wednesday morning, said that it was “not possible to ascertain” from whom His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales had caught the virus, but that he had been continuing to work from home “throughout the last few days as usual.”

Well, that’s not going to inspire calm and tranquility in the UK. But in related news, Corona-chan is good for nationalist trade policy:

Pharmacists are urging UK drug firms to manufacture paracetamol in Britain amid a nationwide shortage caused by panic buying and production lines drying up in Asia amid the coronavirus crisis.

Britain relies heavily on India – the world’s biggest supplier of generic drugs – for the painkiller, but the South Asian nation has restricted exports of the painkiller after factories in China, where the ingredient is mainly made, ground to a halt…. UK manufacturers now need to step up and start making the painkiller in Britain to prevent the ‘grim reality’ of COVID-19 patients not being able to get pain relief, pharmacists say.

Free Trade Kills. That’s the important takeaway here. Open Borders = Open Virus.

RIP Sir Bedivere

Another Python has left the building. RIP Terry Jones:

‘We are deeply saddened to have to announce the passing of beloved husband and father, Terry Jones.

‘Terry passed away on the evening of 21 January 2020 at the age of 77 with his wife Anna Soderstrom by his side after a long, extremely brave but always good humoured battle with a rare form of dementia, FTD. Over the past few days his wife, children, extended family and many close friends have been constantly with Terry as he gently slipped away at his home in North London.

We have all lost a kind, funny, warm, creative and truly loving man whose uncompromising individuality, relentless intellect and extraordinary humour has given pleasure to countless millions across six decades.’

With Terry Gilliam, Jones wrote and directed what is almost certainly the funniest movie ever filmed, Monty Python and the Holy Grail. The mere fact that it is still being quoted on a daily basis around the world despite having been released 45 years ago is astonishing, as is the fact that young men today find it every bit as funny as young men did twenty and thirty years ago. The humor is truly timeless.

Monty Python never again reached such heights, but then, no one else ever did either. And while people will point to the mother in Life of Brian, Cardinal Biggles of the Spanish Inquisition sketch, or Mr. Creosote from the famous “wafer thin” sketch, for my money, his greatest character was Sir Bedivere and his most unforgettable line was from the Holy Grail.

“Who are you, who are so wise in the ways of science?”

It still makes me laugh, every single time.

We may have to start Unauthorized News

It looks as if the Republican Establishment is making a run at OANN:

Allies of President Trump are pursuing an effort to acquire right-leaning news channel One America News Network, according to people familiar with the matter, in a bid to shake up a conservative media market that has been dominated by Fox News. The investment firm Hicks Equity Partners is looking to acquire the channel and is pitching other wealthy GOP donors to arrange a bid of roughly $250 million for the channel’s parent company, the people said. The firm is owned by the family of Thomas Hicks Jr., co-chairman of the Republican National Committee.

Because that’s just what we need, one more outlet repeating the mainstream narrative. The RNC group – who almost certainly are not genuine “allies of President Trump” – say they want to buy OANN to “compete” with Fox News. Which is precisely the opposite of their intentions. The next step would be a merger with Fox, or a sale to Warner or the Devil Mouse.

This is all about control, not competition.

Canada’s Bill Clinton

Canadian Prime Minister Justin “Blackface” Trudeau is reportedly attempting to buy the silence of his accuser in what appears to be a teacher sex scandal dating back to his substitute teacher days:

Less than two weeks ahead of federal elections that have already been looking conclusively grim for Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, rumors of an explosive sex scandal are percolating at the highest echelons of Canada’s media establishment.

Ottawa’s longest-tenured political observers had been expecting a career-ending expose in Sunday’s edition of The Globe and Mail — but that story never came.  Sources are now telling The Chronicle that Trudeau is in private talks with the principal source of that piece to suppress explosive sex allegations that, if made public, would likely force Trudeau to resign his office.

Trudeau’s accuser is said to be a former student at West Point Grey Academy and the daughter of a wealthy Canadian businessman.  Sources tell The Chronicle that she is being represented by counsel and is being offered monetary compensation in exchange for a pending, but not yet signed, non-disclosure agreement.

One way or another, young Blackface’s political career would appear to be finished.
