Inexplicable inequality

It is hard, so hard, to discern a pattern here:

It’s hard to discern a pattern in the violence that has wracked the Swedish capital Stockholm for five nights. Rioting in the city’s suburbs has raised the national debate about immigration, unemployment and social inequality.

The cars attacked in the violence are not high-end – not the BMWs and Porsches you might expect to see torched by class warriors – but the vans which ordinary people need to go about their business. Schools, a station and a library have been attacked as well as a bank and a police station…. Many said there was a wider context of a growing gap between rich and poor in Sweden.

On OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) figures, Sweden has seen the biggest increase in inequality of any developed country over the past 25 years. Immigrants and their descendants tend to congregate in areas such as Husby, the neighbourhood west of Stockholm where the violence started on Sunday. About 80{23e931505c9998ea7789b03fa212186bf4d6af5391998e330e3a146ae78b2862} of the 11,000 residents are either first- or second-generation immigrants.

It is not any more the Sweden we all thought we knew.

What do you know. Another Magic Dirt fail. Apparently even Scandinavian socialist magic isn’t powerful enough to transform immigrants into Real Swedes Just Like All The Other Swedes Except For Their Darker Skin.

Identity always trumps ideology, regardless of whether that ideology is free market capitalism, American civic nationalism, or socialism.

Nations are people. Nations are genetic. Nations are tribes. Nations are neither propositions nor geography nor political constructs. FFS, before you embarrass yourself with ignorant objections, look up the etymology of the freaking word! Nationalism is literally genetic tribalism and nations are nothing more than genetic tribes with shared cultural, religious, and linguistic customs.

Game theory and civic nationalism

Tipsy explains how logic dictates that civic nationalism is intrinsically doomed to failure in any multicultural society.

Civic Nationalism is doomed to fail in a multicultural society because it represents an unstable pareto-optimal equilibrium of the game of resource optimization through democratic politics. The non-cooperative Nash equilibrium, i.e., everyone out for their own group, becomes more stable when a democratic political system is overwhelmed by disparate ethnic groups.

For those inclined to read further about the distinction between these two equilibria, here’s an example of game that admits both types of equilibria. Suppose we have two players, A and B, who are playing a croquet game on a level field. Both players have a croquet mallet that can hit a ball exactly one foot in any direction and they get to hit it exactly once per round of the game. For each round, Player A is rewarded $1 for each foot the ball goes North and player B is rewarded $1 for each foot the ball goes West.

They both start the game willing to cooperate, and thus they decide to employ the Pareto-optimal solution, so they both hit the ball to the Northwest. They ball will go 2 feet Northwest and both player A and B will both get $1.41 (i.e., round(100*sqrt(2))/100).

Now, suppose in the next round, player A hits the ball to the Northwest as agreed upon, but player B decides to no longer cooperate. After player A hits the ball, player B hits it due West. Player A ends up with $0.71 and Player B gets $1.71 for the round.

Player A then gets pissed, and decides not to cooperate. So, the next round he uses a Nash strategy and hits the ball North and the still uncooperative Player B hits it West. They both end up with $1 for the round.

Note that the Pareto-optimal (cooperative) equilibrium yields the most money for both, but it is leaves each of the players vulnerable to the other cheating. The Nash-optimal (non-cooperative) equilibrium leaves both with less money, but structures the game in such a way that minimizes the consequences of the other cheating.

The Left has been using a Nash strategy for years, and “Conservatives” have been duped or shamed into using a Pareto strategy. The alt-Right is finally saying “Ok, you want to play that way, we will too.” This pisses the Left off, because they liked the marginal advantage that cheating in a cooperative game gave them. The alt-Right doesn’t care, goes full on Nash, because it understands the “game” is fundamentally non-cooperative now.

The scary thing is that the situation is even worse than he explains it. There have actually been THREE players, a Pareto player, a Nash player, and an anti-Pareto player. The anti-Pareto player has been playing to either a) hurt the Pareto player or b) help the Nash player, as he has no interest in money, but simply wants the psychic reward of achieving either (a) or (b).

What has changed is that a new Nash player has entered the field. This modeling is probably too complicated to bother with, especially since any numbers assigned would be arbitrary to the point of complete fiction, but regardless, both Tipsy’s original description as well as the more complicated version suffice to demonstrate that civic nationalism could never survive once sufficient Nash players were on the field.

There is nothing cooperative about US politics now. This is both an observable reality as well as a logically dictated consequence. Civic nationalism is now every bit as discredited and thoroughly disproven as communism, and any intellectually honest man will have to admit as much. Ironically, most of those still attempting to disprove it will achieve little more than revealing that they are actually Nash players hiding under a false Pareto front.

To sum up the discussion from last night in the other thread, it is observably better for a nation to be atomic-bombed, militarily defeated, and occupied by a foreign power than for it to adopt civic nationalism and mass immigration.

Good luck with that

Ben Garrison’s cartoon attempting to make the case for civic nationalism instead tends to demonstrate its utter hopelessness, and rather effectively makes the case against it.

The Alt-Right is correct and the Alt-Right is inevitable. You can no more instill an instinctive respect for the U.S. Constitution, the Common Law, and Anglo-American culture into immigrants, no matter how long they are resident in the USA, than you can instill Rohinga values into Americans during a visit to a refugee camp in Bangladesh.

Think about it. Do the Jews, the Italians, the Irish, or the Scandinavians value small government today, even after more than 100 years of residence in the USA? No. Not even a little bit. They have learned to speak English, but they have never learned to value limited government. They are not, they have not been, and they will never be Americans in the original sense of the term, which is simply another way of saying “British colonist”.

Hence the references in the Declaration of Independence to “ties of consaguinity” and “British brethren” and “King George”. The American revolutionaries were not declaring independence from Gustav II of Sweden, Emperor Joseph II of the Hapsburg Empire, or  Alvise Giovanni Mocenigo, the Doge of Venice.

The Mexicans, Chinese, Japanese, and various and sundry other post-1965 immigrant groups aren’t going to become Americans either. Not now, and not in 10 generations. They will NEVER accept or respect the historical Anglo-American values upon which the country was founded.

The point is that there is no “fractured America”. It is the USA that is fractured into America and various flavors of Not-America dating back to the mid-1800s. It worked, for a while, because the American residents sufficiently outnumbered the Not-American residents while immigration was almost entirely shut down between 1920 and 1965. They don’t outnumber them anymore, which is why the USA will never be synonymous with America again.

A mercenary military

The Saker’s conclusion that the US military is in no shape to take on the Russian military these days is almost certainly correct:

The military is investigating whether two Navy SEALs strangled an Army Green Beret to death in Mali earlier this year, The New York Times reports. The Green Beret, Staff Sgt. Logan J. Melgar, was found dead on June 4 in his housing unit that he shared with other U.S. Special Operations troops. His death was ruled a homicide by strangulation, and the case was assigned last month to the Naval Criminal Investigative Service. The two Navy SEALs, members of the elite Team 6, have since been placed on administrative leave.

It will be interesting to learn if these two Navy SEALs are Americans or Fake Americans. A lot of starry-eyed conservatives think that foreigners who serve in the U.S. military deserve citizenship, failing to realize that a nation that turns its military over to foreigners is usually in the late stages of societal decline and fall.

In light of Bergdahl’s unpunished desertion, it will be interesting to see what, if any, consequences befall these SEALs, who as yet remain unidentified.

Convergence, Minnesota-style

I grew up in the next town over, and my father’s business was headquartered there for decades. This meeting of the New Brighton City Council just goes to show that wealthy white suburbs are pretty much ticking time-bombs once they start electing female leadership. You can just sense the inevitable low-income housing plans and Refugees Welcome Day being formulated.

The meeting began as a cozy affair. Seven people occupied a table as New Brighton Mayor Val Johnson led the congratulations. Days earlier, Councilman Brian Strub had run a ten-mile race.

Strub voiced satisfaction with his finish, which was received by smiles from fellow council members Mary Burg, Gina Bauman, and Paul Jacobsen. But the marathon work session on this October evening would not sustain a neighborly atmosphere.

Late in the evening, the discussion turned to the greatness of the suburb wedged between 35W and Columbia Heights.

Johnson gushed about “how great we are.” She cited the parks system and New Brighton’s convenient location. Still, Johnson was convinced the suburb could do better.

To that end, she pushed for the formation of a task force. It would reach out to those members of the “underserved community.” People of color in particular.

She’d spoken to some who felt unsafe. Some who were reticent to have conversations outside their immediate community. This troubled the mayor. Others said they were mistrusting of law enforcement. Not New Brighton police, but Ramsey County Sheriff’s deputies, Johnson emphasized.

New Brighton had the potential to be the beacon on the hill.

“Let’s share that greatness with everybody,” she said. “I’m proud of this city.… I want to make sure everybody who’s living here has had a chance to feel proud about their city.”

Some of her peers weren’t so quick to jump aboard.

Councilman Jacobsen said he wasn’t keen on devoting focus to one component of the population.

Councilwoman Bauman failed to understand the task force’s purpose. She wanted clarity of cause, not a group of people looking like they were doing something just because.

Panelist Burg would bring up the term “white privilege.” She intimated how everyone in the room was incapable in walking in others’ shoes.

That’s when the conversation took a tense turn. Bauman said she “resented” Burg’s talk of privilege, as if the life she had somehow required no effort.

“Because I’m white, you think I was privileged my whole life?” she asked. “Are you kidding?”

Johnson’s voiced changed. She said Bauman was “the exact reason” New Brighton needed a task force. If Bauman didn’t understand white privilege, the mayor continued, she was handicapped in representing the community in its entirety.

“What you have just said,” Johnson said, “is the most racist — “

“Excuse me?” interrupted Bauman. “Don’t you ever, ever accuse me of that. You have no basis to say something like that in public.”

The mayor offered clarification: “Let me rephrase it. That statement was one of the most racist things I’ve ever heard.… That statement that you’re not feeling the white privilege thing.”

They started yelling.

“You’re interrupting me! By golly, I’m running this meeting!” said Johnson.

Bauman shot back that she probably knew more people of color than the mayor.

“You’re out of order!” Johnson said.

“And you’re out of line!” retorted Bauman.

The exchange simmered when Johnson got teary-eyed: “Goddonnit, Gina! I’m passionate about this! I’m so passionate about hearing all sides of the story and for you to disregard the fact that white privilege exists is beyond me.”

 Somehow, the exchange brings this cartoon by Jinjerzilla to mind.

South Texas church shooting

27+ shot at a small Baptist church. Multiple fatalities. FFS, why aren’t people a) carrying in church and b) posting security guards?

KENS5 reports police took down the gunman at the Baptist church in Sutherland Springs after he shot and killed multiple people.

No word on who is responsible, but sounds more like something personal than jihad.

UPDATE: 26 dead, ~20 wounded.

UPDATE: No, this attack will not support the gun control narrative. Quite the contrary:

Today’s mass shooting in Sutherland Springs, Texas, was only halted after an armed Texan “engaged” the killer and put an end to the rampage, the Texas Rangers reported.

Freeman Martin, a major in the Texas Rangers and a spokesman for the Texas Department of Public Safety, says the suspect dropped his rifle and fled after being confronted by a local man who had grabbed his rifle.Freeman provided a timeline of the tragedy in a press briefing Sunday evening.

“At approximately 11:20 this morning a suspect was seen at a Valero gas station in Sutherland Springs, Texas,” Martin said. “He was dressed in all black. That suspect crossed the street to the church, exited his vehicle and began firing at the church.”

“That suspect then moved to the right side of the church and then continued to fire,” he continued. “That suspect entered the church and continued to fire. As he exited the church, a local resident grabbed his rifle and engaged that suspect. The suspect dropped his rifle, which was a Ruger AR assault-type rifle and fled from the church.”

The failing US military

It was simply silly to believe that the military would magically survive the societal decline that has affected the rest of US society. One could hardly expect that a military that wears high heels, has no standards for its officers, and permits women to serve was going shoot deserters, or even hold them accountable.

First and foremost, standards at West Point are nonexistent. They exist on paper, but nowhere else. The senior administration at West Point inexplicably refuses to enforce West Point’s publicly touted high standards on cadets, and, having picked up on this, cadets refuse to enforce standards on each other. The Superintendent refuses to enforce admissions standards or the cadet Honor Code, the Dean refuses to enforce academic standards, and the Commandant refuses to enforce standards of conduct and discipline. The end result is a sort of malaise that pervades the entire institution. Nothing matters anymore. Cadets know this, and it has given rise to a level of cadet arrogance and entitlement the likes of which West Point has never seen in its history.

Every fall, the Superintendent addresses the staff and faculty and lies. He repeatedly states that “We are going to have winning sports teams without compromising our standards,” and everyone in Robinson Auditorium knows he is lying because we routinely admit athletes with ACT scores in the mid-teens across the board. I have personally taught cadets who are borderline illiterate and cannot read simple passages from the assigned textbooks. It is disheartening when the institution’s most senior leader openly lies to his own faculty-and they all know it.

The cadet honor code has become a laughingstock. Cadets know they will not be separated for violating it, and thus they do so on a daily basis. Moreover, since they refuse to enforce standards on each other and police their own ranks, cadets will rarely find a cadet at an honor hearing despite overwhelming evidence that a violation has occurred. This in tum has caused the staff and faculty to give up even reporting honor incidents. Why would a staff or faculty member expend the massive amount of time and energy it takes to report an honor violation-including writing multiple sworn statements, giving interviews, and testifying at the honor hearing-when they know without a doubt the cadet will not be found (or, if found, the Superintendent will not separate the cadet)? To make matters worse, the senior leadership at West Point actively discourages staff and faculty from reporting honor violations. l was unfortunate enough to experience this first hand during my first tour on the faculty, when the Commandant of Cadets called my office phone and proceeded to berate me in the most vulgar and obscene language for over ten minutes because I had reported a cadet who lied to me and then asked if “we could just drop it.” Of course, I was duty bound to report the cadet’s violation, and I did.

During the course of the berating I received from the Commandant, I never actually found out why he was so angry. It seemed that he was simply irritated that the institution was having to deal with the case, and that it was my fault it even existed. At the honor hearing the next day, I ended up being the one on trial as my character and reputation were dragged through the mud by the cadet and her civilian attorney while I sat on the witness stand without any assistance. In the end, of course, the cadet was not found (despite having at first admitted that she lied), and she eventually graduated. Just recently a cadet openly and obviously plagiarized his History research paper, and his civilian professor reported it. The evidence was overwhelming-there was not the slightest question of his guilt, yet the cadet was not found. The professor, and indeed all the faculty who knew of the case, were completely demoralized. This is the new norm for the cadet honor system. In fact, there is now an addition to the honor system (the Willful Admission Process) which essentially guarantees that if a cadet admits a violation, then separation is not even a possibility. In reality, separation is not a possibility anyway because the Superintendent refuses to impose that sanction.

The USA is a multi-ethnic empire in rapid decline. It will fall in due course, and almost certainly before most people will believe possible. The God-Emperor is engaged in a heroic endeavor, but unfortunately, his role is almost certainly that of the tragic hero whose brave and inspiring struggle proves insufficient in the end.

Flavius Mauricius Tiberius Augustus, better known as Maurice, was a brave and capable emperor. He defeated the Persians, the Avars, and drove back the Lombards. But he was betrayed and deposed, a cataclysmic act that led to a defeat at the hands of the Persians that left great swathes of the empire vulnerable to their subsequent conquest by the Muslim armies.

The devil that is Disney

Disney is not merely SJW-converged, it is openly and avowedly evil:

The upcoming second season of the Disney Channel series Andi Mack will mark the first time the network has created a story line in which a character realizes he is gay. The story arc will involve Cyrus Goodman (played by Joshua Rush), who discovers he has feelings for another male character. ‘The Disney brand has always been inclusive, with stories that reflect acceptance and tolerance and celebrate the differences that make our characters uniquely wonderful in their own way,’ the Walt Disney company said in a statement to Entertainment Weekly.

In the story, Cyrus begins to have a crush on Jonah Beck (Asher Angel), who also happens to be the same boy their mutual friend, Andi Mack, is pining for. Cyrus shares his feelings for Jonah with his good friend Buffy (Sofia Wylie), who becomes his supportive shoulder to lean on. Cyrus’ understanding of his sexuality will be a story that continues throughout the series.

Disney is run by literal satanists preaching Alastair Crowley’s “do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law” to children. They are one of the primary engine’s of the West’s degeneracy and decline. It is not an accident that everything they touch, in every industry, turns into morally radioactive slime.

You don’t say. It’s such a surprise that the moral cesspool of Hollywood thought well of it.

Liberalism: the dying faith

Pat Buchanan rightly observes that Europe is awakening to fact that liberalism is a societally suicidal lie:

Asked to name the defining attributes of the America we wish to become, many liberals would answer that we must realize our manifest destiny since 1776, by becoming more equal, more diverse and more democratic — and the model for mankind’s future.

Equality, diversity, democracy — this is the holy trinity of the post-Christian secular state at whose altars Liberal Man worships.

To traditionalist Europeans, our heaven looks like their hell.

But the congregation worshiping these gods is shrinking. And even Europe seems to be rejecting what America has on offer… Europe is rejecting, resisting, recoiling from “diversity,” the multiracial, multicultural, multiethnic and multilingual future that, say U.S. elites, is America’s preordained mission to bring about for all mankind.

This is the dilemma facing conservatives now. For sixty years, their tango with liberals was a simple matter of saying “yes, but not so fast”. Now, like the liberals, they are being forced to confront the ugly reality that the end game of their ideology is the end of their society and their civilization. Not only has conservatism conserved nothing, it has aided and abetted the destruction of that which it purported to be defending.

Tick-tock

The latest rumor from the deeps: Julian Assange, Sean Hannity, and company are giving Robert Mueller until the 21st to act on DNC/Russia/GOPe collusion. Assange released the hashes to the media for the data dump on the 15th. Either Mueller can do his job and act on information he already has, and that he knows Trump knows he has, or he can try to explain why he didn’t do anything with it when everyone learns what he has been sitting on.

This is NOT to be confused with Three Disclosures that have been separately mentioned and are believed to be of larger scope. It is believed to be possible that it may help lay the foundation for them, however.

For indications of confirmation, look for media reports claiming the Pakistani IT guy now in FBI custody, Awan, to be somehow tied to the murder of Seth Rich. Since he’s already been taken, the guilty parties will attempt to blame as much as they can on him. In any event, this promises to be bigger than the previous Wikileaks release of the Podesta emails.
