Trumpslide: the Triggering

The first email I read this morning was from my brother. It made me laugh out loud.

Size Medium!

Somehow, I knew what he meant. After a sudden onslaught last night, CryptoFashion was briefly out of L and XL sizes, but it is taking orders for Trumpslide shirts again.

I would be remiss if I did not mention that if you want to know why what happened yesterday was not only predictable, but how Mike Cernovich was able to correctly predict it, MAGA Mindset is now available in both paperback and hardcover editions.

Hard MAGA

Good timing on the part of Amazon. The hardcover edition of MAGA Mindset by Mike Cernovich is now available at Amazon and at Barnes & Noble.

In order to get things started, I’m offering the first 25 people to buy it and send me the receipt from either Amazon or B&N a free download code for a copy of the audiobook of SJWs Always Lie. Send the email with HARD MAGA in the subject, please.

And in not entirely unrelated news, THE MISSIONARIES by Owen Stanley is now available in paperback.

SJWs Always lie in audiobook

It took a few false starts, but the third time proved to be the charm and we finally managed to get it done. I’m happy to be able to announce that SJWs Always Lie: Taking Down the Thought Police is now available in audiobook format.

The audiobook is narrated by Bob Allen, who did his customary bang-up job, and is 6 hours and 49 minutes long. You can listen to a sample there. If you’ve only read the Kindle version, you might be interested in picking up the paperback version, which is available too.

SJWAL has been Castalia’s bestseller for most of the last year, but that appears likely to change, as MAGA Mindset, by Mike Cernovich, is doing very well. Mike recently reported that the paperback contained an error, but just to be clear, that was only in the CreateSpace version that was out briefly before we managed to get our version into distribution. The kindle version, the paperbacks from us, and the new hardcover which is still in the process of being listed by Amazon, all contain the fixed version of the text.

Regardless, Mike is tearing it up again. He’d probably have #1, #2, and #3 in the category if the audiobook was available from Audible yet. Note that the Kindle price shown below is misleading; it is actually $7.99.

A year of Dark Triad

Congratulations to Castalia author Ivan Throne, who is observing the one-year-anniversary of his blog, Dark Triad Man by sharing some of the lessons he learned along the way:

The first year of social media is hard.

I don’t like Facebook. It is a time sink, most of its users are not my audience, and I needed traction fast. That is why I settled on Twitter and began to learn how it works.

It is an insane platform, rampantly infected (and managed) by social justice warriors. I saw that as a benefit. I am here to test out my work in the real world, to subject it to adversaries and criticism, along with the expected mockery from those who oppose my perspectives, my differentation and of course my message.

There were plenty of envious trolls, shrieking feminists, whining cucks, sobbing peasants, gormless chattel and febrile incompetents who decided to insult, harass and stalk me across social media. It was absolutely delightful and every one of them has my thanks for being a part of the churl shooting gallery that social media affords.

Trolls and haters are fun. They are the icing on the cake of the real work. And that real work is very serious, and has strict parameters.

I followed several rules as I delivered Dark Triad Man and built my audience:

1. Blunt, ruthless honesty in my observations and message.

2. Delivery of real world training for readers on top of perspective.

3. Multiple channels of media that entwine and reinforce.

4. Absolute quality of writing, layout, presentation and brand.

5. Rapidity in applying lessons learned to the enterprise.

Everything I do at Dark Triad Man follows these overarching values.

One of the things I liked about Ivan from the beginning is that he is a fearless and ferocious fighter. The reason that I signed his book, The Nine Laws, is because I knew that his determined approach was, sooner or later, going to make him successful. I figured we would be wise to make an early ally of a man who may well become more influential than any of us one day.

There are a few men I wouldn’t bet against for various reasons. Ivan Throne is one of them. One should never judge a man by what he is, or what he was, but rather, by what he may become.

I don’t like Facebook either.

How to get a free signed book from Mike Cernovich

Remember what I said about “relentless self-promotion”? This is what it looks like in action. No sooner did I tell Mike that the Castalia-produced paperback was now available through the distribution system than he concocted a plan to promote it through the bookstores.

MAGA Mindset is available in paperback and hardcover. To get it stocked in book store, we need to create demand for it. This is where you can help me, and I’ll help you.

Go into your local bookstore. Ask them to special order MAGA Mindset in paperback for you. If they can’t find it by title, give them this ISBN: 9789527065921

You can ask any bookstore to order it for you.

When your book arrives, email a copy of your receipt to Shauna.Danger@gmail.com

I will send you a bonus signed copy of any of my other books. (Shipping is on me.)

  • Gorilla Mindset
  • Danger & Play: Essays on Masculinity
  • MAGA Mindset

Buy one, get a signed copy free. The offer is good internationally. And I can assure you, after you read MAGA Mindset, you’ll want a second copy to give to a friend, a brother, or a son anyhow. It’s a short, vicious, gut-punch of wake-up-and-smell-the-bullshit reality.

And while we’re on the subject of Cernovich – again – he put up an excellent post on why the Left has been winning based on his observations made during the time he spent doing on-the-ground reporting in Europe and the USA this summer.

Conservatives fund feckless think tanks, the left funds media and entertainment. That’s why the left is winning.

There’s no exhaustive list of conservative think tanks, though research reveals there are hundreds.

What have these think tanks conserved? Think tanks can’t even prevent the financial ruin of impoverished bakers who didn’t want to perform a trivial act like baking a wedding cake for a gay wedding. (I can understand requiring doctors to treat gay people, medicine is an essential service. In what world can’t a gay couple find someone else to make a cake?)

Conservative think tanks are a complete waste of money. The NRA is the most effective conservative group, and that’s due to its political activism. The right doesn’t need yet another stately-looking “think paper.” The right needs news media, films, and cultural icons.

Original reporting is almost exclusively monopolized by the left.

How much original reporting is being done by the right? A blog post about an article someone else wrote is not original reporting. It’s commentary, and commentary is useful. But it’s not reporting.

We do more journalism via my social media than 99% of “conservative media.”

My readers got into the habit of attending Hillary rallies and showing pictures of the small crowds. That’s real journalism. Why wasn’t Ben Shapiro of Daily Wire sending people to rallies? Where was National Review? What about Weekly Standard?

The sophisticated right hates on Alex Jones. You know what? Fuck the haters. I’ve seen Alex Jones’ people everywhere doing original reporting. Joe Biggs was in Haiti right now investigating Clinton Foundation fraud.

Breitbart also sends reporters into the field to cover actual stories.

The right doesn’t need more “commentary,” or “think tanks,” or “media watch dogs.” The right needs more journalists who are in the field breaking news.

Brent Bozell is earning $400,000 running a “non-profit” media “watch dog” site. That fat egg head at Weekly Standard earns $500,000 a year. What good have they done? Show me their actual cultural impact. You can’t. They have no impact.

Rich idiots keep shoveling money into more zero-impact projects.

Mike is absolutely right. Think about how much money has been wasted, on Jonah Goldberg crying about everyone from Bill Clinton to Donald Trump, Ben Shapiro crying about the Alt-Right, John Podhoretz and Bill Kristol crying about everyone who doesn’t blindly support immigration and Israel, and Brent Bozell watching the media, when compared to the amount the Original Galaxians spent on making Infogalactic happen.

The Right cries and appeals to whom? Who do they think is going to do anything about their reactionary claims that “Democrats are the real racists”, “All lives matter”, “Hispanics are natural conservatives” and so forth. Meanwhile, the Left has funded all the social media giants that are literally telling Americans what they can think and what they can say.

This is why the Alt Right is destined to replace the conservative movement. They’re about crying and complaining. We’re about creating institutions. They are reactionaries. We are revolutionaries. They’re about whining. We’re about winning.

Recommended

Speaking of promoting Mike Cernovich, the Indy King, Vaughn Heppner, who with BV Larson and soon-to-be Castalia author David VanDyke is one of the three big dogs of military science fiction, recommends Mike Cernovich’s GORILLA MINDSET as one of his three picks for Amazon’s Powered by INDIE:

GORILLA MINDSET is an awesome read for those who want to learn how to control their thoughts and thereby their actions. Mike Cernovich is a straight shooter who tells it like it is. In today’s world, that is a welcome relief.”

If you liked GORILLA MINDSET, I can guarantee that you’re going to like MAGA MINDSET: Making YOU and America Great Again. Now in paperback from Castalia House.

Also, I recommend Vaughn Heppner’s books, particularly if you happen to be inclined towards men with large quantities of futuristic weaponry at their disposal completely failing to abide by Gene Roddenberry’s ideal of non-violent interaction and achieving one’s objectives through diplomacy, communication, and mutual understanding.

The New Yorker on Mike Cernovich

Andrew Marantz wrote a surprisingly balanced article about Castalia author Mike Cernovich for The New Yorker:

Walter Cronkite was once the most trusted man in America; in 2013, according to a Reader’s Digest survey, the most trusted person was Tom Hanks. “Let’s say, for the sake of argument, that Walter Cronkite lied about everything,” Cernovich said. “Before Twitter, how would you have known? Look, I read postmodernist theory in college. If everything is a narrative, then we need alternatives to the dominant narrative.” He smiled. “I don’t seem like a guy who reads Lacan, do I?”

I’ll admit it, I laughed. Milo is obviously brilliant. Stefan is obviously brilliant. I can obviously hold my own. And Mike… Mike is considerably smarter than he allows people to assume him to be. We don’t consider him a peer because he has a sizeable following; Kim Kardashian has a following.

Around 3:30 p.m., he announced that he was done for the day. “I’ll go to the gym, relax for a bit,” he said. Before closing his laptop, he checked his direct messages on Twitter, and found a tip alleging that, in 2014, a Reddit user had asked for help removing a “VERY VIP” e-mail address “from a bunch of archived e-mail.” The tipster claimed that the Reddit user was Paul Combetta, one of Hillary Clinton’s I.T. staffers. Cernovich clicked the link to the Reddit thread and noticed that it had been deleted. “Son of a bitch!” he said. “This might actually be true.”

He returned to muckraking mode. “We’re going to make a whole new news cycle about her fucking e-mails again!” he said. “This poor fucking woman.” He started a new Periscope video. “What do you guys want to do for a hashtag?” he said. He decided on #HillarysHacker. It was trending before he finished the video. That day, more than forty-two thousand tweets were posted with the hashtag.

I returned to Cernovich’s house the next morning. By then, the Reddit story had been covered by Vice and New York, and a congressman had asked prosecutors in Washington, D.C., to look into it.

Few things make more of an impression than a called home run. This was a particularly effective demonstration of generating a media cycle because the reporter had the chance to see Mike’s process at work. He knew it was no mere coincidence that the media cycle had magically taken shape.

Shauna, of course, comes off as charming and delightful as ever. It’s a pity, though, that Marantz didn’t know that the bestselling MAGA Mindset beat Hillary Clinton’s own book in its own category of Political Leadership.

Because that wasn’t an accident either.

Here be Dragon-winners

It has taken us rather longer than we would have liked to get our print process running smoothly, but Castalia House is pleased to announce that two books published earlier this year by our two Dragon Award-winning authors, Mr. John C. Wright and Mr. Nick Cole, are now available in hardcover.

IRON CHAMBER OF MEMORY is a deeply complicated tale of romance, mystery, and myth that has proven extremely popular with our readers, as its average 4.8-star rating tends to demonstrate.

The top review, from Richard Green, calls it “a wonderfully creepy, profound, sad and yet uplifting story.”

Wright’s latest is another fantastic and inventive piece from an author whose imaginative faculties boggle the mind. This book is a bit different from his universe-spanning COUNT TO A TRILLION series, and less baroque than SOMEWHITHER. I would compare it more to AWAKE IN THE NIGHT LAND and even A PARLIAMENT OF BEASTS & BIRDS; it is more intimate, following only three characters over a somewhat limited span of time, but it manages to encompass past, present, and future regardless.

IRON CHAMBER OF MEMORY retails for $24.99 and is available from Amazon or can be ordered through your local bookstore.

The new hardcover from Nick Cole, our other Dragon Award-winning novelist, THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNEW IT, is a war story, a post-apocalyptic zombie tale, and a deeply romantic tale of true love conquering all. It features an ending that is so flawless that, in my opinion, only John C. Wright and Jeff Sutton have ever done it better.

From the top review by J.R. Weaver:

Nearly every page is a gut-punch, whether it’s from the descriptions of a brutal war against the undead that makes World War Z look like a Sunday picnic, or the unvarnished look into the heart of a guy who’s lost everything. The characters are raw and brutal and real. The story is dark and uplifting at the same time. Mr. Cole is a romantic and wears it on his sleeve unashamedly.

THE END OF THE WORLD AS WE KNEW IT retails for $24.99 and is available from Amazon or can be ordered through your local bookstore.

Both books will also be available in trade paperback later this week. But most serious fans of Castalia’s two Dragons will want to own these case-bound hardcovers. Also, please note that we are aware that the cover images have not yet percolated through Amazon’s system yet, which can take up to 48 hours. And yes, the vagaries of Amazon’s algos have, for reasons completely unbeknownst to us, bestowed a PhD on Mr. Wright. Or, perhaps we should say, Dr. Wright.

A skull for the SDL!

A reader on Gab successfully applies the lessons of SJWs Always Lie:

A SJW just resigned in embarrassment after unsuccessfully attacking me at work! Thanks to “SJWs Always Lie” by @voxday, I was able to preempt her by predicting her plan/goals to my colleagues. Her coup attempt was strongly rebuffed by them; after realizing she had no support she left in disgrace.

These days, no one is safe from SJWs. They are a plague upon Western Civilization and one can neither reason with nor negotiate with them. If you haven’t read the book yet, it really is in your best interests to do so. It can observably make the difference between you losing your job in disgrace and your SJW attacker doing so.

Anyhow, I love to see AARs of anti-SJW defenses, particularly the successful ones. But even the unsuccessful ones are informative.

A tale of three reviews

Bestselling SF author Christopher Nuttall reviews MAGA MINDSET: Making YOU and America Great Again:

MAGA Mindset is not specifically about Trump, although – as you might have guessed – it discusses Trump and his appeal in some detail. Instead, it is a background study of the present-day cultural conflict – I would really call it a civil war – within America and, in at least some aspects, the rest of the West. Such an assessment is long overdue, yet often lacking. Politics, as always, cast a long shadow over any such assessment….

One can only be defeated if one accepts defeat. Trump’s success comes from two factors – the willingness to dream big and the willingness to keep going, even after setbacks. He is correct in many ways – but Big Government works hard to make it difficult. Fighting them can be immensely demoralising. But we have to carry on regardless.

This is a historic election. And this book goes quite some way towards explaining why.

Even if you don’t like Trump, even if you recoil in horror at the thought of President Trump taking office next year, you need to read this book.

Speaking of politics, It’s always cute when fake reviewers try to guess what the book is about, and guess wrong:

Used to be a long time reader of Mike and his blog; this book lacked any real evidence as to why Trump and his policies are and actually will be effective if he were to win the 2016. This book completely ignores the discussion of policy and instead focuses on “mindset” techniques that have been rehashed from Gorilla Mindset and his previous blog postings. If Donald Trump loses, this entire book and Mike will lose credibility, proving that Mike has become nothing more than a sheep for the alt-right movement / manosphere.

Notice a theme with these one-star “reviewers”?

I’m a long time reader of Cernovich’s excellent blog, and I’ve purchased and enjoyed his previous books. It saddens me the way the entire “manosphere” has latched onto the odious Donald Trump, swallowing his garbage hook line and sinker. Cernovich claims to be “journalist” now, but in reality he is nothing but a Trump cheerleader, repeating the usual Trump conspiracy theories (Clinton has Parkinsons, election is rigged, etc). If you like Trump, you will probably like this book. Honestly, even if I did like Trump this would be a pretty pathetic effort.

I’m always sorry to see one of our writers disappoint a long time reader[sic] in this way.
