To understand how someone thinks, look at the language he uses. Kindle makes this simple. You can search for specific keywords in the Kindle version of a book.

Trump’s books are loaded winning, focus, push, enthusiasm, energy, and momentum.

Trump is a momentum player. He doesn’t wait for the perfect time to strike. He comes out swinging and he keeps swinging.

There’s even a chapter in Think Big and Kick Ass called Big Mo!

What do momentum types never do? We don’t apologize!

An apology destroys your momentum, as it causes you to stop.

Scott Adams is also a momentum type. How do I know this?

Adams talks about “energy” in his great book How to Fail at Almost Everything and Still Win Big. Energy is mentioned 67 times and there is even an entire section on how to increase your personal energy.

Momentum types are obsessed with energy, as it’s crucial for us to keep moving forward.

Momentum types believe if we keep putting fire on targets, we will win.

As long as our energy holds up, this is true.

It’s funny, I don’t really think of myself as either a momentum or a high-energy guy because I am almost extraordinarily lazy. My ability to mentally check out and pay no attention to anything short of an assault team utilizing heavy weaponry is well-known throughout my entire social circle. One of the primary reasons I feed on the hatred for me is that it is about the only thing I find reliably motivating.

On the other hand, I do possess an unusual amount of what I think of as “focused stamina” which is how I was able to write ATOB in 18 months and turn in a complete 60-page game design document in under a week. I suppose if you consider that I’m on the verge of publishing my second book in four months while having designed two games and edited three books at the same time, it is possible that I am merely using different terminology than Mike is.

But I dont think so. Two things that I have learned from Mike recently is the importance of a) enthusiasm and b) thinking big. For example, I don’t think I’ve been thinking big enough for Brainstorm; it’s already nearly as well-attended as I imagined it could possibly be. And there is no real reason why my political books should sell any fewer copies than those published by Ann Coulter or Mark Levin, after all, as Mike notes, we’re both already outselling most books published by well-known mainstream conservative writers with substantial media profiles.

So, I’m working on learning to think bigger. Here is the first baby step: my goal is for Cuckservative to debut in the Amazon top 100 overall. In keeping with this objective, we’re going to modify a few of our usual launch routines in order to help make that happen. We’ve put together a solid New Release offer (don’t forget to get on the mailing list if you want to receive them), we’re only going to make the book available on Amazon for the first three days, and for the first time, those who buy through Amazon will be able to take advantage of the offer.

In terms of Mike’s advice, all I can really add to it is the importance of understanding your own motivations. Once you figure out what it is, use it relentlessly no matter what anyone else might think of it. It doesn’t matter what your own private Carthago is or why you believe it must be destroyed. Stay focused, stay motivated, and keep your momentum going, until one day, its walls are razed and its fields are sown with salt.

Why Britain entered the EEC

And why the globalist establishment is desperate to keep the UK in the EU:

The answer is that Harold Macmillan and his closest advisers were part of an intellectual tradition that saw the salvation of the world in some form of world government based on regional federations. He was also a close acquaintance of Jean Monnet, who believed the same. It was therefore Macmillan who became the representative of the European federalist movement in the British cabinet.

In a speech in the House of Commons he even advocated a European Coal and Steel Community (ECSC) before the real thing had been announced. He later arranged for a Treaty of Association to be signed between the UK and the ECSC, and it was he who ensured that a British representative was sent to the Brussels negotiations following the Messina Conference, which gave birth to the EEC.

In the late 1950s he pushed negotiations concerning a European Free Trade Association towards membership of the EEC. Then, when General de Gaulle began to turn the EEC into a less federalist body, he took the risk of submitting a full British membership application in the hope of frustrating Gaullist ambitions.

His aim, in alliance with US and European proponents of a federalist world order, was to frustrate the emerging Franco-German alliance which was seen as one of French and German nationalism.

Monnet met secretly with Heath and Macmillan on innumerable occasions to facilitate British entry. Indeed, he was informed before the British Parliament of the terms in which the British approach to Europe would be framed.

Despite advice from the Lord Chancellor, Lord Kilmuir, that membership would mean the end of British parliamentary sovereignty, Macmillan deliberately misled the House of Commons — and practically everyone else, from Commonwealth statesmen to cabinet colleagues and the public — that merely minor commercial negotiations were involved. He even tried to deceive de Gaulle that he was an anti-federalist and a close friend who would arrange for France, like Britain, to receive Polaris missiles from the Americans. De Gaulle saw completely through him and vetoed the British bid to enter.

Macmillan left Edward Heath to take matters forward, and Heath, along with Douglas Hurd, arranged — according to the Monnet papers — for the Tory Party to become a (secret) corporate member of Monnet’s Action Committee for a United States of Europe.

According to Monnet’s chief aide and biographer, Francois Duchene, both the Labour and Liberal Parties later did the same. Meanwhile the Earl of Gosford, one of Macmillan’s foreign policy ministers in the House of Lords, actually informed the House that the aim of the government’s foreign policy was world government.

Monnet’s Action Committee was also given financial backing by the CIA and the US State Department. The Anglo-American establishment was now committed to the creation of a federal United States of Europe.

The joint immigration crises, in the USA and the EU, are no accident, but represent a last-ditch effort by the globalists to prevent the rise of nationalism shattering their totalitarian dream of world government. Of course, it’s not going to work, as it has only sparked a nationalist reaction that is considerably more intense than even the provocateurs were expecting. The response to the crisis of the legitimacy of the modern state is not going to be in support of an additional layer of government.

None of this is new information, nor is it even, strictly speaking, news, but it is interesting to see it now leaking out into the mainstream European press.

Black Friday shooter

An active shooter at a Planned Parenthood Chase Bank in Colorado. 9 victims reported so far.

An active shooter was reported Friday near Planned Parenthood in Colorado Springs.

The office is at 3480 Centennial Blvd.

Colorado Springs police, El Paso County Sheriff’s Office and Colorado State Patrol officers are responding to the scene.

3:17 p.m. UPDATE

Police confirm that officers and the suspect have exchanged gunfire inside the Planned Parenthood building.

The president of Planned Parenthood Vicki Cowart issues a statement: “At this time, our concern is for the safety of our patients, staff and law enforcement.”

One would assume it is abortion-related, but the fact that the shooter engaged with the police makes me wonder if it might be something else.

UPDATE: It looks like I was correct to be skeptical of the narrative.

So once again, the media sets the narrative and get exposed for the frauds they are. The original target of this shooter wasn’t Planned Parenthood in Colorado Springs, it was a Chase Bank. 

You can just hear all the network executives telling everyone to stand down, there’s no need to send any talking heads out to Colorado Springs.

UPDATE II: Now the police are saying that while the shooter was in the Planned Parenthood building, “the connection between the shooting and Planned Parenthood was not clear.” Also, none of the victims appear to be Planned Parenthood staff.

SF-SJWs devouring themselves

ST Joshi, who is a leftist, an SF writer, and a respected H.P. Lovecraft scholar, has come under intense SJW fire for standing up for Lovecraft’s literary legacy:

1) The World Fantasy Award is a purely literary award. It is awarded purely for literary excellence in the field of weird fiction. It commemorated Lovecraft because (a) it was created for the First World Fantasy Convention in 1975, held in Providence, R.I., which was essentially a Lovecraft convention, and (b) it acknowledges Lovecraft’s literary greatness, both intrinsically and in terms of his influence. That is all that the award “means.” The award says nothing about Lovecraft as a person (just as other awards in this and related fields say nothing about the person or character of the figures they are named for). The changing of the award is an implicit rejection of Lovecraft’s literary status. It suggests that Lovecraft’s racism is so heinous a character flaw that it negates the entirety of his literary achievement. This is one of many reasons why I find it mystifying how any genuine devotee of Lovecraft can be in favour of changing the WFA bust.

2) We have no reason to be confident that the current agitators will stop at the WFA bust. Indeed, the prime mover in the matter—Daniel José Older—has made his general contempt for Lovecraft quite clear, as when he called him a “terrible wordsmith.” (I suspect he would say much the same about Poe, Dunsany, Machen, and any other writers who don’t write the kind of slangy, faux-hipster style he favours.) It is quite evident that some of these agitators really don’t like Lovecraft as a writer and resent his fame and influence, and have seized on the one flaw of his racism to cast him out into the literary darkness. Vigilance needs to be maintained that the tarring of Lovecraft’s reputation doesn’t go any further.

3) The discarding of the WFA bust may in itself be insignificant, but it is troubling for a multitude of reasons. It is, for example, an historical error to pass condign judgment on figures of the past because they are perceived to have departed from the moral, political, and social views to which we adhere. This shows a cultural intolerance and lack of historical understanding that is very discouraging. We have not exactly attained moral and intellectual perfection ourselves, and I daresay we will be judged harshly for all manner of derelictions a hundred years from now. (We now hear of students at Princeton University—where I did graduate work in 1982–84—lobbying to have every vestige of Woodrow Wilson’s name eliminated from the campus merely because he made a few racist comments, as if these comments somehow repudiate all the significant political and diplomatic achievements of his career.)

By the way, this is not the first time I’ve seen Ellen Datlow’s name mentioned with regards to egregious SJW lunacy. She would appear to be nearly as ideologically insane as Patrick Nielsen Hayden.

I have been led to believe that the celebrated editor
Ellen Datlow was a major force in getting the Lovecraft bust discarded
from the World Fantasy Awards. If this is so, it casts a dubious light
on Datlow herself. One has to wonder about the moral compass of a person
who has materially benefited from Lovecraft’s increasing reputation by
opportunistically assembling two volumes of Lovecraft-inspired fiction (Lovecraft Unbound [2009] and Lovecraft’s Monsters [2014]) and who then turns around and kicks Lovecraft figuratively in the posterior.

This part was particularly amusing to me:

My dissociation with Dan Clore was not because he disagreed with me, but because he treated me in an abusive and insulting manner. He in effect stated that I was a right-wing racist bigot, even though he knows that I am a leftist.

You don’t say! What, pray tell, do SJWs do? Ah yes, that’s right. SJWs Always Lie!

The Parable of the Good Cuckservatan

A man was going down from Jerusalem to Damascus, when he was attacked by robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead.

A Democrat happened to be going down the same road, and when she saw the man, she passed by on the other side, telling herself that it was the federal government’s job to do something about it. She felt really bad about it, though, and she tweeted a photo of the man she’d taken along with a sad face emoji and the hashtag #justawful.

So too, a Republican, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side, figuring that this was just the sort of thing for which he paid his taxes. They were too high anyway, but he felt good that in at least this one case, they would be paying for something worthwhile. The sight of the man reminded him that he’d been intending to sell his shares in Adeptus Health, so he logged into E-Trade and made a 12 percent profit.

But a Cuckservatan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on the robbers who had fallen so low as to be reduced to making a living by robbery. He went to the robbers and invited them to move into an empty house in his neighborhood, then took up a collection demanding money from his neighbors so that the robbers could bring their wives, and children, and parents, and cousins to join them and live in their nice suburban neighborhood.

When his neighbors complained that their homes were being burgled, their lawns were being trashed, their daughters were being raped, their sons were being beaten, and their taxes were being raised without their consent, the Cuckservatan told them that they were racists, and shrieking, bigoted cowards, and they could just leave the neighborhood if they didn’t like it.

Which of these three do you think will be the first against the wall when the revolution comes?

What happened to the man? Nobody knows. Nobody cares. What is the point in actually helping those in need when there is virtue to be signaled at the expense of your neighbors?

Hipster Thanksgiving

It’s funny. But even funnier was Ed Driscoll’s comment on Instapundit: “I lasted about 30 seconds before wanting to go full ISIS on these people.”

It puts watching The Man in the High Castle in a whole new metacontext. No wonder people have been cheering for the bad guys. What was the point of winning WWII if the consequence was seeing American society degenerate into this sort of absurdity?

Counter-Currents interview

A transcript of my interview with Greg Johnson of Counter-Currents:

GJ: How would you describe your political philosophy and who are some of the intellectual influences on its formation?

VD: I would describe myself as a Christian Western Civilizationist. I’ve been a libertarian for a long time. I was briefly even a card-carrying libertarian. But I was always more of a small L libertarian rather than a capital L one. Mostly because there were certain amounts of libertarian dogma that didn’t quite work out in the real world. Then as time went on it became readily apparent to me as I traveled around the world, as I lived in different countries, as I learned different languages, it became apparent to me that the abstract ideals that we often tend to follow in America in particular are not really relevant to most of the world.

I was being interviewed by a reporter from Le Monde in Paris about two months ago and he had absolutely no idea how to even describe the concept of libertarian to his readers. That’s in France, which is at least Western civilization and so forth. Trying to have a conversation about that sort of concept in Japan or China is just totally meaningless. So, that’s when I really became more cognizant of the importance of the nationalist element.

I think that just as Stalin found it necessary to modify international socialism for the Russians and just as Mao found it necessary to modify international socialism for the Chinese, it’s necessary for every other ideology to also understand that there are nationalistic, tribalistic limits to the abstract application of those ideologies.

GJ: That’s interesting. I’m an ex-libertarian myself. I was not a card-carrying libertarian, but I subscribed to Reason magazine and read lots of Ayn Rand and Hayek and Mises mostly when I was an undergraduate. There were things that led me away from that.

Two books in particular. First, I read Thomas Sowell’s A Conflict of Visions and the other was Céline’s Journey to the End of the Night, which basically destroyed my liberal optimism about humanity.

What are some of the things that you think don’t work about libertarianism? You said that some of the abstract libertarian dogmas just don’t work, so specifically what are those?

VD: Well, the most important one, as we are now seeing, is the free movement of peoples. What really changed my thinking and it was a process, you know, it wasn’t an immediate thing, although it was a fairly quick process now that I think about it . . . I grew up on Milton Friedman. My father had me reading Free to Choose when I was fairly young, and so I was a big free trade dogmatist and around the time of NAFTA and all that sort of thing I could recognize some of the problems but I bought into the line that the problem is that it’s not real free trade. It’s a free trade agreement, but it’s not real free trade.

Then I read a really good book by Ian Fletcher, and he directly addressed the concept of Ricardo’s comparative advantage, and he really destroyed it. I think he had something like seven major problems with it, and that got me interested, so I started looking into it. I’m very fortunate in that I have a pretty active and intelligent blog readership and they really like to engage and they have absolutely no respect for me so they’re quite happy to argue with me.

Most of them were free-traders as well so we ended up having an on-going two or three week debate about free trade, and it got pretty detailed to the extent that I went through Henry Hazlitt’s entire chapter on free trade just to look at it critically rather than just reading through it and accepting it. Just looking at the arguments. I found that the free trade arguments were just full of holes. Not just Ricardo’s, but also Hazlitt’s. That’s what got me realizing that Ricardo’s argument was totally dependent on the idea that capital could move but labor couldn’t and so what that got me thinking about was the fact that a libertarian society – even if we could convince everyone in the United States that libertarianism was the correct way to approach things – would rapidly be eliminated by the free movement of peoples as people from non-libertarian societies, people from cultures where they have absolutely no ideals that are in common with the Founding Fathers or with libertarian ideals, would rapidly be able to come in and end that libertarian society in much the same way that the Californians have gone into Colorado and completely changed the political climate there.

So, Ian Fletcher’s book is what really triggered that whole shift in thought process. Now I look at the concept of the free movement of peoples, free trade, and those sorts of concepts with a considerable amount of skepticism. Of course, in Europe we’re seeing some of those problems related to the idea of the free movement of peoples just as you see it in the States with the Central Americans coming across the border.

Wiki SJWs reject Breitbart

I thought it was interesting to see that Breitbart News is not considered a reliable source by Wikipedia. But Salon and Sam Harris’s blog and every other two-bit SJW site is.

Have a Designated Safe Space Ready

If your regressive, overeducated college-aged nephew (who thinks socialism is a new idea) shows up in his glitter beard and neck scarf, and suddenly starts waxing ineloquently about racial discrimination on his campus, immediately show him to the “safe space” you have created just for him in the extra bedroom upstairs, far away from the rest of the family. Make sure to outfit the room with boxes of Kleenex for his tears, some footie pajamas, an Ani DiFranco CD, and some adult coloring books and crayons. Inform him that the family will be ready to receive him back into the slightly less safe space of conversation when he pulls it together.

Emergency Vegan Meal

If your Aunt Miranda complains about animal cruelty and starts to try to convert you to veganism, grab the Morningstar frozen dinner you have stashed away for just this moment and throw it in the microwave. Serve it to her in the plastic tray. Don’t allow her to go near the homemade stuffing (it has chicken broth in it!) or the handmade pies (those migrant workers who picked those apples were poorly treated!) and slap her hand when she goes for Gramma’s awesome cheeseball (dairy cows are people too!). Make sure everyone knows that Aunt Miranda can’t possibly touch anything other than her frozen vegan tofurkey because nothing else in the house is “fair-trade” or “cruelty-free.” No one would want to force Aunt Miranda to compromise her values.

You might also want to keep a copy of SJWs Always Lie at hand. Just open it when they are talking and occasionally nod and say “check” as they are rambling on about the moral imperative of housing Syrian refugees or how global warming caused the third great wave of Islamic expansion.
