A mass shooting at Virginia Tech University:
A gunman opened fire in a dorm and classroom at Virginia Tech on Monday, killing 21 people and wounding another 21 before he was killed, police said.
A few thoughts spring insensibly to mind:
1. Is there a third Vick brother?
2. The reports seem to be a bit foggy with regards to how the gunman was killed. It’s early, of course, but a reluctance to disclose how the shooter was stopped is often indicative of the involvement of someone carrying a concealed weapon.
3. Ever notice these mass shootings never seem to happen in the afternoon? This is why I don’t get up before nine AM.
4. It will be interesting to learn if the individual was a Muslim terrorist recruit. I suspect not, as I imagine they will target junior high schools, not universities, should the terror strategists elect to go that route. Although one should keep in mind that the do-it-yourselfers are even less predictable.
