Backers notice

If you’re in an INDIVIDUAL arbitration action, check your email. If you’re not sure, or if you’re in the group action, THIS DOES NOT MEAN YOU. Do NOT email me to ask if I mean you.

This is going to go on for a LONG time. By which I mean we might be able to expect it to be over by June 2020. I’d hate to imagine how long it would have taken if we weren’t using the Streamlined Rules.

No worries. If we’ve got one thing going for us, it is stamina.

Indiegogo hate campaign list

Indiegogo is attempting to legally strike back at ALT-HERO:Q. We believe we can very easily demonstrate the absurdity of their claims by pointing out how many of their campaigns are promoting hate by the ludicrous standard of the ADL, so I’m asking the Dread Ilk and the Reprehensibles to compile a comprehensive list of these Indiegogo hate campaigns for the legal team. This is the post to which you can add Indiegogo hate campaigns in the comments. Be sure to leave four details:

  • The name of the campaign
  • The URL of the campaign on the Indiegogo site
  • The specific hate symbol from the ADL Hate Symbol list that appears in the campaign
  • The end date of the campaign if it has ended, otherwise just note CURRENT.
All comments are moderated so don’t worry if your comment with a campaign or four does not appear immediately. Please follow the directions precisely. We need all four elements, one per line, with the SPECIFIC ADL hate symbol listed in the third line.

A cunning change

Indiegogo just tried to make a stealthy change their to Refund Policy. It used to say this:

When are contributions not eligible for a refund?

Contributions cannot be refunded by Indiegogo, if any of the following are true:

  • The contribution funds have already been transferred to the campaign owner
  • The campaign has ended
  • The perk associated with the contribution has been fulfilled (contribution is marked as fulfilled on Indiegogo by the campaigner)
  • Indiegogo determines that there has been an abuse of our Terms of Use, or the refund policy.

Now it says this:

When are contributions not eligible for a refund?

Contributions cannot be refunded by Indiegogo, if any of the following are true:

  • The campaign owner has already received the contribution
  • The campaign has ended
  • You have received the perk that you backed on the campaign
  • Indiegogo determines that contribution is in violation of our Terms of Use or any policy

Can you figure out why they needed to make the latter change? This confirms what I suspected from the moment I noticed it. These people are stupid. And they just tacitly admitted that they don’t have a case.

Judeo-Christian values, take 34,752

I’m sure everyone is just astonished at the news that one of the greatest warriors against anti-semitism biggest grifters on the planet has finally been publicly exposed as being less than entirely morally upstanding:

The SPLC fired Morris Dees yesterday and announced it today. Multiple sources have told me that the allegations of inappropriate conduct involve sexual harassment incidents. Multiple incidents that have come to light after an initial recent allegation.

More of those fine Judeo-Christian values at work again, no doubt. The thing is, this guy has been known to be a creep for forty years. Apparently his crossroads deal expired.

And don’t forget this: Facebook, Amazon, Google and Twitter all work with or consult the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) in policing their platforms for “hate speech” or “hate groups.”

Milo banned from Australia

And here I was proud of being personally banned from Google’s Mountain View campus. But to have an entire country quaking in fear of you? Now THAT is an accomplishment!

The Morrison government has banned right-wing provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos from entering Australia in a fresh crackdown likely to infuriate his conservative supporters but please critics who believe he is anti-Semitic. The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age can reveal the controversial speaker was told this week his visa application had been rejected and he cannot enter Australia.

I can understand how very important it must be to all Australians to keep anti-semites out of the country. No doubt that’s why they don’t permit any Muslim immigration….

DC backs down from blasphemy

DC Comics has cancelled The Second Coming prior to its release:

Last August, Bleeding Cool interviewed the amazing Mark Russell about a work in progress, Second Coming with the also-amazing Richard Pace for DC Vertigo. It was solicited for March this year. It looked aces.

Then at the beginning of the year, CBR mentioned its existence, and it got picked up by a few Christian news websites, who stripped our interview for parts. Then Fox. Then Brexit.

Then a Conservative Christian site got a petition going. And almost a quarter of a million people have signed it.

None of them have read a single panel of this comic, a light sitcom of a satirical story that sees Jesus come back to Earth and room with a Superman analogue.

Nevertheless, today DC Comics told retailers that they have cancelled the comic entirely. No issue of it will be published.

It’s amusing to see SJWs complaining about people objecting to a comic they haven’t read. Because none of them ever said a word against Alt-Hero before the release of Alt-Hero #1, right?

At this rate, the entire new Vertigo line will be dead before we manage to get the first 12 Alt-Hero issues out. And speaking of SJWs:

Peter Simeti, owner of Alterna Comics, a publisher that has made its name with 99 cent, $1.50 and $2 newsprint comic books, was to do a live YouTube video with a comic book store. Simeti’s promotional effort at the comic book shop was cut short, however, and that video was pulled. Because, it appears, of the events he later outlined on twitter. The publisher had been confronted by police, with guns drawn. Police had been informed by some individual posing as Simeti that he had stabbed his girlfriend and was in a suicidal state of mind.  Fortunately, as he notes, officers were able to quickly and accurately assess the matter, and prevented a terrible situation from becoming much worse.

Only one of the many reasons I don’t do speaking tours, book tours, or public events. Notice how his attempts to distance himself from #ComicsGate only made matters worse for him.

Suing the SPLC

Gavin McInnes is striking back at the left-wing organization that has weaponized defamation:

Talk show host Gavin McInnes has filed suit against the hyperpartisan Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) this week. The 61-page complaint was electronically filed early Monday morning in the Middle District of Alabama outlining defamation and other tortious acts resulting in reputational and economic damages.

The Canadian-immigrant talk show host is demanding an apology from the left-wing SPLC for purposefully misrepresenting his beliefs in a defamatory manner and the defamatory mischaracterization of a fraternal club he founded, Proud Boys.

McInnes is being represented by noted First Amendment attorney Ron D. Coleman of Mandelbaum Salsburg P.C. and Baron Coleman of the Baron Coleman Law Firm.

This is exactly the right thing to do. None of the whiners who cry about deplatforming but fail to pursue legal action are ever going to accomplish anything, because the Left knows no shame and could not care less about being called hypocritical.

If more people would do the same, Big Social would be considerably less inclined to think it could get away with actions that blatantly violate their own terms and policies.
