Suing the SPLC

Gavin McInnes is striking back at the left-wing organization that has weaponized defamation:

Talk show host Gavin McInnes has filed suit against the hyperpartisan Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC) this week. The 61-page complaint was electronically filed early Monday morning in the Middle District of Alabama outlining defamation and other tortious acts resulting in reputational and economic damages.

The Canadian-immigrant talk show host is demanding an apology from the left-wing SPLC for purposefully misrepresenting his beliefs in a defamatory manner and the defamatory mischaracterization of a fraternal club he founded, Proud Boys.

McInnes is being represented by noted First Amendment attorney Ron D. Coleman of Mandelbaum Salsburg P.C. and Baron Coleman of the Baron Coleman Law Firm.

This is exactly the right thing to do. None of the whiners who cry about deplatforming but fail to pursue legal action are ever going to accomplish anything, because the Left knows no shame and could not care less about being called hypocritical.

If more people would do the same, Big Social would be considerably less inclined to think it could get away with actions that blatantly violate their own terms and policies.

Houston, we have a stalker

It was interesting to see Camestros Felapton was stalking my profile on LinkedIn yesterday. It looks like he created a profile just for that purpose. Meanwhile, another File 770 denizen, ex-Amazon Principle Research Scientist Greg Hullender, is instructing SJWs on how they can attempt to interfere with Castalia House and other publishers who sell through Amazon in the future.

Greg Hullender on February 1, 2019 at 4:59 pm said:

I was a senior manager at Amazon in the division that managed the catalog. I can guarantee you that no one outside that team can really delete anything from the catalog. The programs that others run only mark things deleted, but they don’t really go away.

Likewise, accounts don’t really get erased. They get frozen and the money put on hold until someone can figure out whom it really belongs to. (This was an IP theft accusation, if you believe VD’s account, so of course they held the money.)

Once it was straightened out, they quickly put everything back the way it was. (Considering that the database had over 2 billion records in it when I left the company 5 years ago, it’s pretty impressive how well it works, if I do say so myself.)

He may be telling the truth about what was told to him. It’s possible he got someone who just didn’t know how to reinstate a deleted account. (Or someone without the privilege to do so.) Someone new enough to simply not know that whatever was done can be undone. (With just a few caveats.)

As I think about it, if you wanted to make this happen to him again, the way to do it (assuming he created another “misleading” book like this) is as follows:

1. Purchase the book yourself.
2. A few days later, submit a return request to Amazon, alleging that you received a counterfeit. (I forget the exact code, but it’s a checkbox that indicates you got something other than what you thought you ordered.)
3. In the comments, mention the book you wanted to get and include a link to VD’s own words explaining what he did. Make it clear that “this was a deliberate fraud. Amazon shouldn’t tolerate this.”

Any customer service rep would refund you at once and kick it straight up to Fraud. Fraud would look at the info, see that the account has been suspended repeatedly, and instantly suspend it pending further investigation. Or so I believe, since I’ve seen the same thing happen to other merchants who skirted the line a lot. (E.g. gray-market sellers whose ads make it look too much like the original product. Or refurbished-product sellers who aren’t clear enough it’s not new.)

It’s fascinating to observe such an influential ex-Amazon employee providing instructions on monkey-wrenching Amazon’s core business. Needless to say, we’ve archived this post and forwarded screenshots of Mr. Hullender’s advice to our contacts at Amazon so they are aware that Mr. Hullender and his associates may attempt to interfere with Amazon’s attempts to sell books to their customers in the future.

Indiegogo deplatforms Bitchute

It looks like Indiegogo’s legal team still hasn’t read their own Terms of Use or Refund Policy:

Many of you will know about the Indiegogo campaign that we ran last year to build an open-source commenting platform named Comment Freely. Well, it was time for Indiegogo to pay us and rather than giving us the money they decided to refund it without even telling us why. We’ll be putting up a public blog post about this soon with more details. This is breaking news so we’re still considering our options.

Sounds like JAMS is going to have a very good 2019.

When are contributions not eligible for a refund?

Contributions cannot be refunded by Indiegogo, if any of the following are true:

  • The contribution funds have already been transferred to the campaign owner
  • The campaign has ended
  • The perk associated with the contribution has been fulfilled (contribution is marked as fulfilled on Indiegogo by the campaigner)
  • Indiegogo determines that there has been an abuse of our Terms of Use, or the refund policy.

Please note, we are unable to cancel your campaign or issue mass refunds for any campaign that has raised funds.

Lies, lies, lies

Amazon is telling a LOT of lies today. I received this transcript of a conversation today from a reader.

CUSTOMER: I wanted to buy the kindle version of the book Jordanetics by Vox Day. Yesterday I saw it in your site, today I cannot find it anymore. Can you find out what happened and maybe send me the correct link to buy it.

AMAZON CUSTOMER SERVICE:  I have gone through your query. Let me check on it.

AMAZON CUSTOMER SERVICE: I have checked with my leadership team and the Kindle version is removed due to some missing content. No worries, it will be back with in 4-6 hours. And then you can order it.

CUSTOMER: what missing content, was there a technical fault? I know somebody who has it, and he said he got it a few weeks ago from you. He did not say anything about a problem..

AMAZON CUSTOMER SERVICE: The publisher has removed to update the content.

CUSTOMER: And the publisher told you the update would be finished a few hours from now?

AMAZON CUSTOMER SERVICE: Nope, but the updates are always done with in 4-6 hours. So it will be available soon.

I’ve been receiving a number of these exchanges today. Be sure to use the customer service chat so you can catch them lying on the record. Go ahead and email them to us, these exchanges could prove useful if Amazon is inclined to get defensive and stonewall instead of simply rectifying the situation.

Just for the record, the publisher did not remove Jordanetics to update the content.

UPDATE: I’m noticing a certain theme here:

CUSTOMER: I wanted to buy the Kindle version of “The Last Closet” by Moira Greyland, but found that it is no longer available on Amazon. Why was it removed and how can I purchase the e-book?

AMAZON CUSTOMER SERVICE: : Hello, my name is Mary. I’m here to help you today.

AMAZON CUSTOMER SERVICE: I’m sorry to read that “The Last Closet” is not longer available on its Kindle Edition.

AMAZON CUSTOMER SERVICE: This is something that we cannot control to be honest with you, it depends on the publisher. We do have an option for you to request the publisher to have this book available for kindle ?

To be honest? Really, Amazon?

Amazon takes down Castalia House

You may have noticed that you can’t find any Castalia House ebooks on Amazon right now. That’s because Amazon shut down our KDP account on the basis of a wildly spurious claim of publishing material to which we do not have the necessary rights. We happen to have some VERY bad news for them on that subject….

The book in question? You guessed it. Corrosion: The Collapsing Empire again. This is the second attack on that book this month, as ten days ago, they pulled the book itself down for the sixth or seventh time due to claims that it was “misleading”.

From: Amazon.com [kdp-quality-assurance@amazon.com]
Sent: 21 January 2019 21:59
Subject: Notification from Amazon KDP

While reviewing the following books we found the title, cover image, descriptions and/or authors of the following book(s) are misleading to our customers:

Title: Corrosion (The Corroding Empire Book 1)
ASIN: B06XFQ24QC

As a result, the book(s) have been removed from sale from Amazon.

Not only have they shut down the account, but they sent us an email today declaring that they will not pay us any of the unpaid royalties, thereby screwing over each and every author we publish.

As last communicated in the message on January 21, 2019, we have identified the submission of content for which you did not have the necessary rights. Due to this and previous violations, we are terminating your account and your Agreement effective immediately.

As part of the termination process, we will close your KDP account and remove the books you have uploaded through our channels from sale on Amazon. Note that you are no longer eligible to receive unpaid royalties for sales that occurred prior to this termination.

Additionally, as per our Terms and Conditions, you are not permitted to open any new KDP accounts.

Of course, there were no previous violations that internal SJWs did not invent as we’ve been repeatedly cleared of the “misleading” charge for that book. Needless to say, we will not be taking this latest SJW attack lying down. I won’t be surprised if the account is rapidly restored once we contact the manager who has been repeatedly dealing with this issue, especially since we were promised that it would never happen again after the last time.

Of course, this is precisely why we established the Arkhaven and Catalia Direct stores, because we knew better than to trust Amazon’s assurances that it would keep its SJWs under control. If you want to show support for Castalia and its authors, you can either write to Amazon and complain about this unwarranted action or pick up a print, ebook, or audiobook from one of our direct stores.

This is precisely why it is so important to a) build your own platforms and b) support the alternative platforms. This isn’t just about Castalia House because the same thing can be done overnight to any author or independent publisher who utilizes KDP. And if you’re a Castalia House author, please don’t panic, rest assured we are already in the process of taking care of things. But if you want to send an email to Amazon protesting their unwarranted removal of your books, please feel free to do so.

UPDATE: Amazon can’t even find the account information. It looks like whoever was responsible actually wiped all the data.

How you get Hitler

Or at least people who are totally unmerciful and absolutely unwilling to tolerate even the presence of SJWs:

“The rising Left is bound and determined to crush or at least permanently sideline people it deems heretics — in particular, whites, males, orthodox Christians, and skeptics of the LGBT project. It does not want a pluralistic modus vivendi; it wants total domination. The establishment Left lacks the will to stop them. Its members are terrified of appearing un-woke. . . . The establishment Right lacks the will to stop them either, for fear of being called bigots. And it lacks the will or the imagination to stand in any way against corporate interests. . . . Bottom line: Identity politics will dissolve the traditional bonds that have held Americans together, and re-bind forces of the Left and forces on the Right to each other.”

The thing is, you don’t get Hitler because of Hitler — there are always potential Hitlers out there. You get Hitler because of Weimar, and you get Weimar because the liberals are too corrupt and incompetent to maintain a liberal polity.

I just roll my eyes when people tell me that I’m too extreme or that I’m too judgmental. Especially by people who wind up in the crocodile’s mouth less than 24 hours later because they don’t understand that you can’t negotiate with or provide any accommodation to SJWs.

SFWA. Twitter. Bleeding Cool. Indiegogo. Amazon. It’s always the same attack, the same tactics, over and over and over again.

The funny thing is that conservatives like Rod Dreher are more concerned about young authors who give into the scare tactics and voluntarily unpublish themselves than they are about Amazon taking down dozens of authors in one fell swoop.

I keep talking about how in the West, we are swiftly moving into a culture that resembles communist totalitarianism — this, based on what people who grew up under communism tell me. It’s not about gulags or secret police; it’s about building a post-liberal culture defined by militant progressive ideology, and enforcing it by destroying, personally and professionally, those who dissent. Part of this is inculcating fear and self-loathing within the minds of people living in those cultures. You don’t need the secret police when you have taught people to police themselves according to your totalitarian principles.

Today the New Totalitarianism took a new scalp, in a way that ought to scare the hell out of all of us, on both the left and the right, who value free speech and inquiry. And it happened to someone born in a communist country.

In defense of Milo and me

Fencing Bear isn’t impressed with arguments for distancing and abandoning others out of fear that you’ll be next.

This post is about fear and how SJWs use it to silence you by making you disavow your friends.

“You know Vox is alt-right, don’t you?” one of my friends messaged me after watching our video.

Me: “I have heard my Vile Boyfriend described that way, too. Funny that.”

My friend: “Your ‘vile boyfriend’ hasn’t come out and actually stated he is alt-right.”

Me: “And yet, oddly, he is still friends with Vox. So much so that he wrote a foreword for Vox’s book. Twice. In case there is any question: Vox is no more ‘alt-right’ in the terms you mean than Milo is. They are friends.”

My friend: “Yeah. That is odd and troubling. You are clearly ignoring the large swath of Vox’s words and ideology because of your fascination with Milo.”

Me: “Why? Milo is not a white supremacist, if that is what you are worrying about. Neither is Vox. Nothing Vox says is any more ‘extreme’ than, for example, what Douglas Murray has said [about immigration]. And Douglas Murray tours with Jordan Peterson. I am not ‘fascinated’ with Milo. I love Milo.”

My friend: “You are obsessed. You are obsessed to the point that you cannot see the danger Vox presents to not only your reputation and friendships but your career. I am saying this because you are a friend, and I don’t want to see you destroyed because of this.”

My friend clearly hasn’t been paying attention. Doesn’t he know that warning me not to go look is simply to guarantee that I will?

Of course I went and looked. (Take your time. Vox has been writing about Milo even longer than I have.) What did I find? Vox and Milo are friends because Vox and Milo are on the same side—God’s side. Vox has stood by Milo, again, for even longer than I have, never once feeling the temptation that Professor Peterson did, to claim that he had not “followed Milo that carefully.”

Even though Milo is gay and Vox is a devout Christian who believes sodomy is a sin.

Little did I know, but Vox has been there all along, taking the hits for Milo, when I thought that Milo was all alone before he found John.

Talk about the Voice of God: Milo stood by me when I made a media misstep that angered people at Breitbart. I stood by Milo when the media attempted to crucify him for his Joe Rogan interview and he lost his book deal with Simon & Schuster. That’s what friends and allies do, even when the other individual is flawed, imperfect, or behaves in a suboptimal manner. And only a fool or a social reject abandons people over mere differences of opinion or the occasional moral failure.

But what about Vox’s “words and ideology” that my friend was warning me against? Surely mere friendship should not be enough to make me lose my discretion.

Well.

Consider what has been said about Milo.

Consider how many lies are out there about him.

Consider how I have spent the past two and a half years—just like Vox—defending Milo when the whole world was coming for him and calling him names.

Names like “white supremacist.” Names like “pedophile apologist.” Names like “Nazi.”

Milo is none of these things, and yet everyone on social media seems to know that these names are true.

They aren’t. They are lies. Just like the lies spread about Vox.

Now, why would that be?

Vox knows. Vox wrote the book on it.

Two of them, as it happens. There is more. Read the whole thing there.

SJWADD audiobook now at Arkhaven

If you haven’t read SJWS ALWAYS DOUBLE DOWN yet, now is an excellent opportunity to pick up both the audiobook and the ebook in your favored format at the same time.

Whether you realize it or not, if you live in the West, you are currently engulfed in a civilization-wide cultural war that is taking place all around you. Maybe you’re aware of it, or maybe you’re not. It doesn’t matter. The cultural war is real and it is vicious. And unlike a traditional shooting war between different nations, in a cultural war there are no civilians. There are no neutral parties, since no fence-sitting is permitted, and there is no common ground to be found. No one is permitted to sit it out or refuse to take sides; sooner or later, you are going to be forced to declare yourself by either publicly submitting to the SJW Narrative or openly rejecting it.

No matter what you do, no matter who you are, and no matter who you know, the SJWs will come after you once they believe you pose a threat to their Narrative, or to their objectives for the organization they are attempting to converge.

The book is named after the Second Law of SJW: SJWs always double down. SJWS ALWAYS DOUBLE DOWN is a much-needed guide to understanding, anticipating, and surviving SJW attacks from the perspective of a man who has not only survived, but thrived, after experiencing multiple attempts by Social Justice Warriors to disqualify, discredit, and disemploy him in the same manner they have successfully attacked Nobel Laureates, technology CEOs, broadcasters, sports commentators, school principals, open source programmers, and policemen.

Written by Vox Day, Supreme Dark Lord of the Evil Legion of Evil and bestselling political philosopher, and featuring a foreword by Ivan Throne, SJWS ALWAYS DOUBLE DOWN is a vital weapon in the cultural war against the thought police.

The audiobook is narrated by Bob Allen and is 6 hours and 34 minutes. High-quality DRM-free MP4 format. $14.99. For the current audiobook catalog, click here. More will be added on a regular basis.

SJWAL audiobook now at Arkhaven

Expect to see a lot of these notices over the next few months as we make more and more of our 40+ audiobook library available direct. Anyhow, SJWAL narrated by Bob Allen is now available at the Arkhaven store for $14.99 in high-quality MP4 format.

It’s the first of the formerly exclusive-to-Audible titles we’ve been able to make available this way, and it will be followed by many more in due time.

Please note that the audiobooks we sell often includes a copy of the ebook in both EPUB and MOBI formats for Kindle. I’ll probably be doing a Bookstream tonight to discuss the audiobook in light of the latest deplatformings. Also, speaking of deplatformings, if you’re a Darkstream subscriber, be sure to sign up to Stream.Me and follow my channel there. Just trust me on this one and recall that I am seldom insistent about these sorts of things if I don’t have a good reason to be.

Count Dankula ???????
‏So I wake up this morning, all happy that I hit 400k subs, I then see that I have a DM from a Buzzfeed reporter, asking about my monetization, I found this strange, so I checked, and @TeamYouTube have demonetized everything on my channel, everything.

Notice the media-platform tag team. It appears to have been the same thing with NPR, Bleeding Cool and Indiegogo. The media reports on something they don’t like, whether it is a successful comic book campaign or 400k subscribers for a badthinker, then the technology company deplatforms the target, sometimes without even waiting for the media report to stir up public protests against it.

When this happens, you have to strike back and strike back hard. It’s difficult for Americans to do so, which is why it is incumbent upon those of us outside of the US judicial system, where the laws are considerably less favorable to the technology platforms doing whatever the hell they want to whomever they want whenever they want, to do so.

Take screenshots every single day. Keep every single email. Build your case against them before the deplatforming or demonetization takes place. Don’t just be a hard target, don’t just be a bump in the road, be a freaking land mine capable of sending a tank flying.

Post-meritocratic ballet

It doesn’t matter if you can dance anymore. What’s most important is that you can avoid badthink:

The Paris Opera Ballet has sacked ballet-dancing bad-boy Sergei Polunin from a production of ‘Swan Lake,’ after Polunin took to Instagram to apparently attack gay dancers.

The world of ballet – all pumps and pirouettes – might not seem like the most macho one, but Sergei Polunin disagrees. The Ukrainian-born hotshot was fired by the prestigious Paris Opera Ballet last weekend for a social-media rant, in which he called his effeminate male colleagues an “embarrassment” and told them to “man up.”

Polunin did not directly address the dancers’ sexuality, instead attacking “weak” men uninterested in their female co-stars. Nevertheless, the Paris Opera Ballet dropped Polunin from its upcoming production of ‘Swan Lake,’ AFP reported. Artistic director Aurelie Dupont called  Polunin a “talented artist,” but said his Instagram pontifications went against the company’s values.

As I have pointed out previously, it’s time to start enforcing the actual blasphemy laws across the West, given the way in which these nonexistent “values” are now being imposed.
