Progress at the speed of light

Tangent Online addresses the problematic issue of gender issues in author identification with an ingenious solution:

While we applaud Lightspeed’s recent groundbreaking, progressive Women Destroy SF and Queers Destroy SF special issues, we feel they didn’t go far enough. To effect change one must not only talk the talk, but walk the walk. Women and Queers are not the only groups destroying science fiction, for those who champion such a worthwhile social cause as androgyny are at fault too. These forward-thinking social futurists should be given their just due as androgyny is perhaps the most important social issue facing science fiction practitioners today, and which, for the most part, the SF community has chosen to ignore with its retrograde thinking in regards to the problem of gender inequality and gender bias in its fiction.

With greater frequency (which we welcome, but is still a small percentage of the fiction published in the magazines and in book form today), science fiction stories with nameless protagonists or ancillary characters are at the forefront of the androgynous revolution. But only in the field’s fiction do we see how it might work, as fictive experiments, so much enlightened theory on paper—food for thought and nothing more. If the lofty goal of the Androgyny Revolution is to reveal unconscious bias and prejudice in fiction by rendering invisible the gender of its characters then the same ideology should just as readily reveal bias and prejudice in other areas of the real world, but not if gender assignation is permitted to continue.

Therefore, Tangent Online will show how the philosophy, the core defining predicates of androgyny can be applied to non-fiction as well as fiction and how in other ways it should be applied to areas of our real world lives. Thus, the table of contents for the August issue of Lightspeed below will contain only story titles—no author names; for revealing an author’s name would give immediate rise to the same conscious or unconscious bias we find in so much of our fiction. As well, the name of the reviewer is not mentioned for the same reason. Following the lead of the special Women and Queers Destroy SF issues of Lightspeed, you will find an essay following the review. Its author is also nameless, as it should be. It is the content of the words which truly matter and not who penned them. Content over author or editor is the only way to go in the Androgyny Revolution.

Lightspeed and its companion magazine Nightmare have seen the light and no longer showcase author names on their covers. Only the magazine title and subtitle, issue number and issue date are shown for each. The exception being that the editor’s name is prominently displayed on every cover. We can forgive this seeming contradiction to the basic canons of the androgynous movement because it is a given that the editor’s name on the cover of any magazine is perforce a more lucrative marketing strategy than displaying author names—those who provide the content for which the potential buyer is shelling out their beer money. It works, and so we give it a pass because we all already know the editor is really one of “us” (yes, this previous knowledge leads to bias but since the editor thinks like we do it’s no big deal; insider exceptions are one of our most sacred, binding rules).

There is no end to progess in the SJW quest to bring about a more perfect world. So brave. Thank you for this.

We have precedent

Sasquan deems Lou Antonelli in violation of their Code of Conduct:

The Executive Committee of Sasquan, the 73rd World Science Fiction
Convention, would like to address the matter of actions taken by Mr. Lou
Antonelli with regards to one of our Guests of Honor, Mr. David
Gerrold. On August 1st, Mr. Antonelli participated in a podcast in
which he stated that he had written a letter to the Spokane Police
Department, in which he stated to them that Mr. Gerrold was “insane and a
public danger and needs to be watched when the convention is going on”.

Normally, online communications between members is not
something in Sasquan’s purview to referee. However, Mr. Antonelli’s
letter, which requested police action against Mr. Gerrold during the
time of the convention, is within our purview. As such, we found that
there was a strong possibility this act was a violation of our posted harassment policy[1], particularly if the letter had, in fact, been
sent.

The Executive Committee then turned the matter over to our
Operations Head, Ms. Robbie Bourget, who initiated formal proceedings in
accordance with that policy. During these proceedings, it came to light
that Mr. Antonelli had issued a formal apology to Mr. Gerrold and
admitted culpability: he actually sent the letter, not merely claimed to
have sent it.

We thoroughly reviewed all available data,
including email from both involved parties, social media postings,
discussions with key committee members, and so forth. The inescapable
conclusion was that Mr. Antonelli had violated our Code of Conduct in
this matter. The recommendation was to refund Mr. Antonelli’s membership
and prohibit his entry to any convention location or function. However, after the recommendation was made, Mr. Gerrold, as the
aggrieved party, specifically requested that the Executive Committee set
aside this recommendation on the grounds that Mr. Antonelli did
apologize, is sending a retraction to the Spokane Police Department and
because, as a Hugo Nominee, he deserves to attend the ceremony.

The Executive Committee has chosen to accept Mr. Gerrold’s request, and
considers the matter closed as of this time. Ms. Bourget has spoken and
corresponded with the Spokane Police Department, and they also consider
the matter closed. We would like to thank Ms. Bourget for the calm
professionalism she lent to the proceedings, and Mr. Antonelli and Mr.
Gerrold for coming to a settlement that benefits not just them, but the
Worldcon and its members.

So, a single letter is sufficient to comprise code of conduct-violating harassment. This is good to know. Perhaps we should do a little looking into who contacted The Guardian, the New Zealand Herald, and other media outlets concerning Sad Puppies, as that most certainly constitutes harassment according to the Executive Committee.

Sad and Rabid Puppies, if you’re going to Sasquan, make sure you know the Code of Conduct cold, and if anyone so much as puts a toe across the line, shriek bloody murder. The precedent has now been set by the SJWs. Make use of it.

We already know that people have expressed similarly harassing concerns to Kevin Standlee, so keep your eyes open. Black knight them twice as hard. And for the love of all that is good, holy, and true, do NOT apologize to SJWs. Ever. Under any circumstances. How hard is this to understand?

I repeat: you never, ever, apologize to SJWs.

UPDATE: This comment at File 770 will likely amuse the VFM:

One of the things that has been so atrocious about Puppygate is the way
the Puppies seem not to give a damn about the collateral damage of their
actions.

They’re just noticing this now? What part of “we don’t care” was hard to understand?

The courage of the SJW

From the police report RooshV filed with the Montreal police:

I was walking with a group of male friends on Prince Authur street when I asked three women on the sidewalk for advice on which bar to go to. We talked for 5 minutes then all entered the bar that was in front of us. We had a round of tequilla shots. I did not know them beforehand.

I talked to one girl of the group who gave me the name “Jennifer.” She complimented my beard and general attractiveness and asked me to come outside with her for a cigarette. She is approximately 23 years old, shoulder length hair, brown hair, brown eyes, and slim build. She has a piercing between her nose like farm bulls have.

I went outside and sat next to her. She began sensually rubbing her legs against mine. Her skirt was short. She went back inside and I found my friends.

After 5 minutes, a group of men entered the bar that were friends with the girl. They asked me to come outside to have a drink with them. I went outside and one of the men began acting aggressively towards me, asking me for my birth name. He was a tall man with a beard and ponytail. His English was not very good.

I stepped back and then “Jennifer” approached me aggressively and said, “Is your name Roosh?” I use this name for my online writings and published literature, but did not confirm it to her verbally. Then suddenly she threw her entire beer at my head. Two more of her female friends threw beers at me. I had to remove my wig because it was soaked with beer. The group tried to assault me further but I backed away with my friends. I feared for my safety.

As I left the bar, the group followed me, yelling vulgar language. One girl yelled, “Eat my cunt.” We entered a building and they tried to trespass, but we closed the door. I called the police at that time and they took a brief statement, but did not make an arrest.

After the incident, a member of the group uploaded the video of the assault on Youtube under the title “Roosh V gets beer thrown in his face.” It clearly shows them attacking me without just cause. One member of the group named Jessica Lelievre then boasted on Twitter from the account @Jess_Lelievre that she participated in the assault. She wrote, “Pooring my drink on Roosh V’s head was the best moment EVER!!” (She misspelled the word ‘pouring’.) Her profile states that she is a university student at Concordia.

The video is below. Now, I have no doubt that the Only Real Men on the Internet will declare that Roosh is being a baby due to his filing criminal assault charges after being attacked by having several beers poured on his head. But this is the only way that sanity will ever be restored to intersexual relations; many a man has been successfully prosecuted for assault and sexual harassment for less.

What Roosh is doing is textbook black-knighting; making the SJWs live up to their own standard. In this, he is a model for every male. Don’t give women a pass because you a white-knighting idiot. If they make a sexually-oriented joke at work, report them. If they touch you, report them. If they push or hit you for any reason, report them. If they talk about the gory details of their romantic exploits, report them. The same goes for other SJW-favored classes.

Striking back in kind is the only way the SJWs will ever be convinced to abandon their arsenal of bureaucratic weapons.

Hit me baby one more time

Mytheos Holt points out that SJWs have overused the words from the Codex Maladictorum to such an extent that they have lost their potency:

Donald Trump Is What Happens When You Cry Wolf

However, to speak seriously for a moment, Trump’s candidacy should also serve as a cautionary tale about just what happens when you try to brand even the smallest indiscretions as evidence that someone is of the Devil’s party. To illustrate this, ask yourself this question: what label can the Left (or the Right, for that matter) apply to Trump that hasn’t already been so devalued by overuse?
What label can the Left (or the Right, for that matter) apply to Trump that hasn’t already been so devalued by overuse?

That he’s a racist? So is anyone who criticizes President Obama’s golf swing these days.

That he’s a sexist? So is anyone who defends due-process rights.

That he’s a phony? What politician isn’t?

That he’s a fascist? So were the last two presidents, depending on which books you read.

That he’s a crypto-Nazi? Yeah, because Lyndon Larouche hasn’t beaten that one to death at all.

See the problem? Even if all of these labels were true of Trump, they’ve all been used to cry “wolf” so many times that now no one thinks they mean anything anymore. Short of openly waving a Nazi flag, eating black babies, or sexually assaulting someone on live television, there’s little Trump could do to actually give these labels the power to scare people.

Exactly. It’s very amusing when SJWs like John “I am a rapist” Scalzi keep desperately flinging DISQUALIFY DISQUALIFY DISQUALIFY over and over and over again, as if it will finally work on the 500th time after failing the first 499 times. The idiot SJWs simply don’t realize that once an individual is inoculated to their disqualification attempts, it’s never going to work again.

That’s why their current and future outrage over national publications – yes, plural – talking to me is so funny. It would never have happened if they hadn’t planted those stories with the Guardian, with Entertainment Weekly, and with the New Zealand Herald. Just as Rabid Puppies would never have existed if they had simply refrained from accusing me of gaming the 2014 Hugo Awards.

SJWs never leave well enough alone and they never learn. And if they’re going to go to all the trouble of portraying one as a monster, well, one almost has an artistic duty to ensure that one fulfills all their worst nightmares and then some.

Perhaps the Republicans are smarter than SJWs and they’ll stop doubling down on trying to disqualify Donald Trump. But I tend to doubt it.

RomanceGate

It’s hardly a surprise to learn that the SJWs are attempting to thought-police the romance genre as well as games, comics, and science fiction:

The Nazi romance novel For Such a Time, by bookseller-turned-author Kate Breslin, drew little attention outside of a small but passionate romance literature community when it was published in the spring of 2014.

Now, after being nominated for two major prizes at the Romance Writers of America’s annual conference in late July, the book’s Holocaust-set themes of Christian salvation are tearing the romance world apart—and roiling Gamergaters rushing to its defense….

The group took interest after outspoken science fiction writer and game designer Vox Day shared Wendell’s post on his blog. In an interview with Newsweek, Day—whose blog has previously compared feminists to Nazis—described Wendell as an “SJW” (code for “Social Justice Warrior”) and argued that “political correctness” is a “major problem” in the United States.

“It’s another example of SJW’s attempting to thought-police a particular industry or genre,” Day says of the Breslin outrage. He compares it to the scuffle over the 2015 Hugo Awards, while others have likened it to the #WeNeedDiverseBooks campaign that fought to diversify children’s literature.

“Obviously a lot of people liked the book, because they nominated it,” Day adds. “What they’re trying to do is disqualify all those people’s opinions because they disagree with them. It’s something that the SJWs are getting more and more blatant about, and I think people are getting more and more tired of their attempts to impose political correctness and impose thought-policing on everyone else. Donald Trump’s not having any of it, and I’m certainly not either.”

Day’s followers took the bait. Wendell was distressed to learn from a friend that his post had drawn dozens of comments, some denigrating her and mocking her blog by calling it “Cat-Lady Central.” One commenter went so far as to write that “as long as the SJWs support Moloch Worship (aka Planned Parenthood) that traffics in baby parts, they have no right to criticize the Nazis.”

Day says that abusive treatment is par for the course. “I have absolutely no concern for [Wendell]’s feelings about people speaking rudely about her. She is trying to thought-police people; she deserves every bit of criticism she gets.”

Much to my surprise, Newsweek actually soft-pedaled it a bit. They could have mentioned that I have compared feminists to Nazis… to the detriment of the feminists. I believe the exact quote is: “calling a feminist a feminazi is an insult to the German National Socialist Worker’s Party.”

Anyhow, what we’re seeing here is the SJWs attempts to utilize the power of the press to marginalize and discredit me backfiring on them. It was their running to every media outlet from The Guardian to the New Zealand Herald, from NPR to Entertainment Weekly that brought me to the attention of other media outlets that are not simply pushing their libel campaign, including publications such as Newsweek.

It is a little ironic, of course, that I have been interviewed half as many times by national publications concerning a story in which I am not at all involved as I have been about either of the actual stories in which I am directly involved, #GamerGate or Sad Puppies. But that simply demonstrates the utter corruption and ineptitude of the SJW-infested media. One must not speak to anyone who might disrupt the Narrative, after all.

Read the whole thing. Notice how simply calling the SJWs out puts them immediately on the defensive. They don’t like to be called thought police because that is exactly what they are. In every conflict, someone will end up advancing and someone will end up retreating. Shoot down their assertions as briefly as possible, then go right after them. Whenever you’re faced with an SJW, call them out for thought policing. Call them out for speech policing. Or call them out for the sheer absurdity of their statements.

For example, the next person to respond to one of Wendell’s attacks should hammer her for saying that “redeeming Nazis through the power of Christian salvation sounds like a bad idea.”  She doesn’t think Nazis should be redeemed, so what does she think, they should be encouraged?

The funny thing is that every time I read the word Wendell, our noble spokesmanatee kept coming to mind. It made the whole experience that much more enjoyably surreal. Meeewhooooo Hoooon! And the reaction of the SJW twitterati is even funnier.

Megan Broderick ‏@megbrod12
I’m SO CONFUSED as to why Newsweek quoted vox day in that article. He literally has nothing to do with it at all?? #journalism I guess.

Lenore Tolcser ‏@LenoreTolcser
Oh. My. God. People need to stop giving Vox Day attention! It legitimizes him. NO. BAD.

Michele Mills ‏@mills_michele
I just checked with my 14 yo son –
“You’re not following a man named Vox Day on the internet, are you?”
“No!”
“Good. Don’t…Ever.”

A hero for men

You may not like Roosh. You may not approve of him. You may not agree with him about much. But the next time you bite your tongue because you are afraid of saying something that a woman or an SJW might look at you funny for saying, or refrain from saying what you think out of fear that someone might confront you or call you a name, remember that this is a man who was denounced, falsely accused, publicly unwelcomed by the mayor of Montreal, protested, and physically attacked, and he still stood up and spoke out in public concerning his beliefs about the interests of men.

Before you dismiss Roosh for one reason or another, ask yourself ‘what am I doing? Why are the thought police not objecting to my presence? Why are the SJWs not seeking to silence and disqualify and discredit me?’

Roosh is so dangerous to the SJW cause, and is so effective in exploding their attempts to control the very thoughts and behavior of men, that the SJWs actually tried to play the “we’ll totally be your friend if only you’ll distance yourself from him and denounce him” game with me!

That should be sufficient to convince anyone who supports freedom of speech and freedom of thought to stand up for the man, regardless of any reservations you might have about pickup artistry or neomasculinity. After all, he’s standing up for you.

Heroes are seldom the fine upstanding well-respected individuals we wish them to be. Such people are usually too concerned with going along with the crowd and winning the good opinion of the world to speak the truth when the truth is despised. But when a man speaks the truth despite being condemned for it, he is more truly walking in the footsteps of Jesus Christ than many a decent, church-going Christian man.

We are better than them. We are smarter than them. We are more fearless than them. But more importantly, we are on the side of the truth. They have nothing to offer but lies.

Come see the violence inherent in the system

Lou Antonelli is concerned about David Gerrold inciting the SJWs to violence:

“I really didn’t know much about [Gerrold] before the Hugo nominations came out. Following his discourse and his level of discourse as a result, I personally wrote a letter addressed to the police chief in Spokane and said I thought the man was insane and a public danger and needs to be watched when the convention’s going on, and I mean it. I attached my business card. I said this guy’s inciting to violence. Somebody—a weak-minded might attack somebody because of his relentless strength of abuse. I think, honestly, I think he belongs in a secure psychiatric facility.”

All SJW tactics are legitimate when used against them. So perhaps Lou should take a cue from Aurelie Nix and let the police know that David Gerrold and George R. R. Martin are serious rape threats. All he’d have to do is give them one of Rape Rape’s books and they’d find it credible enough to lock him up.

And frankly, given how David Gerrold is clearly making Lou Antonelli feel unsafe, should he even be permitted to attend? Surely that is a violation of the Code of Conduct.

Stay safe out there, Sasquan attendees.

UPDATE: At File 770, SMOF Kevin Standlee observes that Lou Antonelli is not the only one nervous about the prospects for violence at Worldcon:

To be vaguely fair, I’ve had people contacting me saying that Sasquan should get armed guards/off-duty Spokane PD officers hired to protect the convention from the right-wing lunatics who are obviously going to come and shoot up the convention/WSFS Business Meeting in support of the Right Thinking Puppies. I’ve also had people worried about my going to convention in Spokane, which is right next to Idaho (indeed, I have to drive through a bit of Idaho on US-95 to get there) because Everyone Knows that Idaho is full of Right Wing Gun Toting Survivalist Nuts.

Trump crushes feminist speech police

This is how you handle it when someone calls you sexist, misogynist, or whatever other label they seek to use to discredit, disqualify, or distract you:

MEGYN KELLY, FOX NEWS CHANNEL: Mr. Trump, one of the things people love about you is you speak your mind and you don’t use a politician’s filter. However that is not without its downsides, in particular when it comes to women. You’ve called women you don’t like fat pigs, dogs, slobs and disgusting animals. Your twitter account–

DONALD TRUMP: Only Rosie O’Donnell.

KELLY: For the record, it was well beyond Rosie O’Donnell.

TRUMP: I’m sure it was.

KELLY: Your Twitter account has several disparaging comments about women’s looks. You once told a contesttent that it would be a pretty picture to see her on her knees.

Does that sound like the temperament of a man we should elect as president?

And how do you answer the charge from Hillary Clinton, who is likely to be the Democratic nominee, that you are part of the war on women?

TRUMP: The big problem this country has is being politically correct. I’ve been challenged by so many people and I don’t frankly have time for total political correctness. And to be honest with you, this country doesn’t have time either. This country is in big trouble. We don’t win anymore. We lose to China, we lose to Mexico both in trade and at the border. We lose to everybody. Frankly what I say and oftentimes it’s fun, it’s kidding, we have a good time. What I say is what I say. And honestly, Megyn if you don’t like it, I’m sorry. I’ve been very nice to you although I could probably not be based on the way you have treated me, but I wouldn’t do that. But you know what? We, we need strength, we need energy, we need quickness and we need brain in this country to turn it around. That I can tell you right now.

Megyn, YOU are a part of the big problem the USA has. Every SJW, every self-appointed thought policeman is a part of the problem. And it is time to start making sure that every time they try to play thought police, we cram that concept right down their throats.

“The big problem this country has is being politically correct.” It’s certainly one big problem that gets in the way of discussing any of the actual issues that matter.

It was good to see Trump put Kelly in her place. I have never understood the conservative affection for her. She’s a feminist, she’s PC, and she’s pro-immigration, ergo she is on the other side.

That being said, good for her and Fox News for actually putting the candidates on the spot for a change.

Those who serve and know not

To them, too, we owe our thanks. It’s tremendously amusing to listen to the science fiction SJWs projecting and declaring the Puppies to be pathetic losers while they whine and cry and gnash their yellowed, decaying teeth. A sniveling SJW named Chris M. Barkley is only the latest to strike the usual poses:

Contrast this with Mr. Beale, who, on the surface seems to have some moderate amount of talent as a writer, editor and publisher, who has gone out of his way to trumpet and advance notions of homophobia, sexism, racism with provocative slander, libelous insults and threats, wildly delivered with what I can only describe as a pseudo- intellectual flair. However, those talents, which could have been used for the betterment of literature and culture, are instead being used to soil and defame it. Beale’s latest attempt at seeking attention, a worldwide call for a boycott of all TOR authors and books, is as pathetic as it is futile.

All of the activities of the Sad and Rabid Puppies might have been easily laughed off, had they not made good on their threats and effectively gamed the Hugo Award nominations this year.

Millions of words have been spilled, pounded, spit out, spit upon, leveraged and expounded upon this subject by thousands of commentators, bloggers, pundits and literary critics since the nominations were announced.

I tell friends and acquaintances that are not familiar with sf fandom that this is not the first fannish feud to spill out into the consciousness of the public, nor will it be the last. With internet connectivity, hair trigger tempers and the willingness of people to stay up WAY PAST their bedtimes to correct stuff on the internet, it is certainly the most public display of asshattery in fandom that general public has ever seen.

I consider what Brad Torgenson, Larry Corriea and Theodore Beale have collectively done, is a direct attack on what fans, writers, editors, publishers and literature itself. And I consider this attack on fandom and the Hugos is a personal attack against me….

I do not obsess about it but I have been wondering whether he really understands that a life is a legacy for those who follow him.

There is room in fandom for rational discussion, debate and even dissent. There is no room however, for empty rhetoric and false conjecture, death threats, bullying, hateful and blatant racism, sexism and gay baiting, which is what the Sad Puppies now stand for, forever tarred with the same brush as and the Rabid Puppy crew, whether they like or not.

Moreover, this means that while we may have to listen to the inane and idiotic diatribes of Theodore Beale/Vox Day, we do not have to endorse or accept them.

Margaret Keifer’s life is an exemplary example of what every fan’s, every person’s life should be.

What Theodore Beale and his followers have forcefully shown, is that they are incapable of empathy, kindness or human decency.

They have my pity, and little else.

So brave. Thank you for this. Of course, what they don’t recognize is that one can’t soil sewage. And one can’t defame the infamous with the truth. And I would correct him: the SJWs not only don’t have to endorse or accept anything I say, they quite clearly aren’t listening to anything I have said. I’ll try again:

I am not one of you. I do not want to be one of you. I don’t want your attention, I don’t want your awards, I don’t want your respect, I don’t want your pity, and I don’t want anything to do with you. I have never wanted anything to do with you. In my opinion you are left-wing human wreckage whose worldview is outdated, irrational, nonsensical, and ignorant.

You are neither my intellectual nor moral superior. You are not even my intellectual peer. Your morality, to the extent it can be called that, is a parasitical parody of the real thing. I do not respect you, I do not value your opinion, I reject your values, and I deny your competence to judge me in any way.

I turned my back on your freakish community and everything it stood for as soon as I had the opportunity to see it clearly for myself at Minicon in 1997. I dutifully did my panels and never went to another SF convention or attended another SF-related event ever again. I don’t associate with losers, child molesters, or creepy rape enthusiasts, and SF fandom consists of little else. I never submitted a short story to a science fiction magazine or submitted a novel to a science fiction publishing house because I didn’t have any professional respect for most of the community’s incompetent institutions.

All the SF community had to do was leave me alone and I would have left it alone. I did so, more or less, for 16 years. You didn’t. For over ten years I was repeatedly attacked, unprovoked, by various members of your weird little community. I ignored most of their repeated jabs, their libels, their false accusations, their nasty insinuations, and their insults. Out of sheer contempt, I ignored most of their attempts to obtain my attention. But when John Scalzi, Patrick Nielsen Hayden, N.K. Jemisin, and Steven Gould, among others, made an attempt to publicly destroy my reputation, I decided I would not ignore it any longer.

So, you’ve got my attention now. And you should have known better to draw the contemptuous eye of the Supreme Dark Lord of the Evil Legion of Evil upon you. Because the Rabid Puppies, and the Dread Ilk, and the Ilk, and worst of all, my 391 397 Vile Faceless Minions, are coming for you. Not just this year, not just next year, but always and forever until you are gone. By all means, cry more about how much we hurt you; the VFM like nothing better than the taste of your tears.

The Sad Puppies want to fix what the SJWs have done to the detriment of science fiction over the last three decades. I respect that, although I think it makes more sense to demolish a building and build anew rather than attempt to shore up a termite-infested structure. But Rabid Puppies are not Sad Puppies. We want nothing more than to crush SJW bones, drink SJW blood, and leave a smoking hole where every SJW institution used to be.

We’re not incapable of empathy, kindness or human decency, we simply have no mercy for SJWs. There will be NO PLACE in science fiction for SJWs.

And that is why, on behalf of the Rabid Puppies, I wish to personally thank every SJW in science fiction who voted for No Award in any category this year and award you this badge as an expression of my personal gratitude.

Another File 770 SJW adds:
The puppies lack of empathy and self righteousness will ensure they are
unaware of what they have wrought or feel they are entirely justified in
doing so. Their dogmatic certainty of certain “truths” makes it
impossible to have a rational discussion with them since there isn’t a
common set of assumptions on which to base a discussion.
We know what we’ve done and as we expected, the SJW reaction has entirely justified our actions. And the next time one of them is whining about how we don’t talk to them, don’t listen to them, and don’t pay any attention to their opinions except to laugh at them, we will remind them that they themselves have declared it is “impossible to have a rational discussion” with us.

What passes for SJW “journalism”

It’s not just about ethics in science fiction journalism, it’s about the way SJWs regularly get the most basic facts completely wrong. Because – all together now – SJWs always lie:

Adam Roberts @arrroberts
In a nutshell, my thoughts on the 2015 Hugos kerfuffle.

“Nazis. I hate these guys.”

Metayahu@Metayahu
It’s even funnier because the white guy is married to a black woman.
NAZI

Adam Roberts @arrroberts
Since I nowhere call Torgerson (or anyone) a Nazi, I’m not sure of your point.

Peat Moss ‏@DrinkerOfScotch
Do you not see the picture included in your original tweet? The one that says “Nazis, I hate these guys”?

Adam Roberts @arrroberts
You were originally responding to my Guardian piece.

Peat Moss @DrinkerOfScotch
I wasn’t responding to anything previously. So you’re saying you just happened to mention Nazis and Hugos for no reason?

Adam Roberts @arrroberts
The ‘Nazis’ joke (from days before) was about Vox Day. Through to be accurate he’s not a Nazi: he’s a clerical fascist.

Peat Moss @DrinkerOfScotch
Thanks for the clarification. Good to know exactly what your biases are.

Adam Roberts @arrroberts
I have beliefs, predicated on principles, experience and thought. I’m sure you do too. Calling them ‘biases’ is merely rude

Peat Moss @DrinkerOfScotch
I think calling people fascists and misrepresenting the Sad Puppies as racist, sexist, and homophobic is just a bit more rude.

Adam Roberts @arrroberts
You are, perhaps, denying that Vox Day is a clerical fascist, or John C Wright a homophobe? We’ll have to agree to disagree

Peat Moss @DrinkerOfScotch
Vox Day is a libertarian. I disagree with many of his opinions, but he’s not trying to silence people or pass laws against them.

Filotto ‏@Filotto
no. We’ll have to agree you are an outrageous liar. @voxday is demonstarbly not fascist.

Adam Roberts @arrroberts
V.D. is a deeply religious Catholic with militaristic, racist and misogynistic views. He’s no common-garden libertarian.

Filotto ‏@Filotto
why do you lie so stupidly? @voxday is NOT a catholic. And you lie about the rest too.

Vox Day @voxday
You’re pig-ignorant, Roberts. I’m not a Catholic and never have been. I’m not racist or misogynistic either.

Vox Day @voxday
If you were an actual journalist, not an SJW parody of one, you’d talk to me, not to others about me.

Robert G Evans @drawncutlass
Well said.  The whole Sad Puppies controversy has been marked by unethical journalism.

I’ll admit, I’m every bit as racist, sexist, misogynistic, homophobic, and white supremacist as I am Catholic. And Old Martian. The funny thing is that the most recent Catholics in my heritage are a) the Mexicans and b) the Native Americans, two basic facts about me that the SJWs are desperate to deny.

Isn’t it remarkable how they will so readily claim me to be that which I am not, while simultaneously omitting to mention that which I indisputably am?
