Hammer vs Captain Europa

Two new Alt★Hero Rewards that may prove to be of some interest to backers, especially to RPGers. But how would Hammer, who is American, ever happen to find himself in combat with Captain Europa of the EU’s Global Justice Initiative? Well, you’re going to have to read the comics to find out.

$25.00
Add-On: Site Hero

Commenting on the Alt★Hero site will be limited to campaign backers and site subscribers in order to reduce the amount of SJW vandalism. Site Heros will receive a subscription to the website, the ability to create new topics, the ability to edit the wiki (subject to moderator approval and discipline), a series of special icons available only to them, and a dedicated forum. Please note that SJWs who use this Reward to infiltrate the site for the purposes of vandalism, politics, or social justice will be identified and stripped of both their backer and Site Hero status.

$75.00
Role-Playing Game

A superhero role-playing game rulebook of an estimated 250 pages, set in the Alt★Hero universe and published in hardcover. The game will be written by an accomplished RPG designer with Chuck Dixon and Vox Day. (Note: it is estimated that the time required to create and test the game is about one year.) Backers receive the hardcover edition of the rulebook, a paperback version of Campaign #1 written by Jon Del Arroz, (this is not yet noted on Freestartr yet), a PDF version of the rulebook and PDF versions of all campaigns created for the Alt★Hero RPG published in the first year after the initial publication of the rulebook. RPG backers will also be provided exclusive access to a dedicated RPG forum on the Alt★Hero site where drafts and design ideas will be posted for discussion.

And yes, shipping is included for the RPG rulebook. Even if you live in Europe. Or Australia. And we will use Infogalactic to provide the engine for the Alt★Hero wiki. And the RPG designer is a very good one who absolutely knows what he’s doing.

Alt★Hero site

Since there is a fair amount of interest in an Alt★Hero site, I’m considering moving down the goal to 135k and adding a new goal at 150k. To increase the chances the campaign gets there, I’m also thinking of adding a site-related Reward for those specifically backing a site.

What should the amount be and what are some of the possible site-related rewards we could give that would be of interest?

Discuss amongst yourselves.

Alt★Hero FREESTARTR is back in business

Freestartr has fixed the system that I broke and you can now safely back the campaign and make additions again. If you are one of the six or seven people who backed the project in the last 12 hours since the last database backup, you will be contacted to confirm that the amount of your backing is correct. Both of the new Rewards, for the Rebel Figurine alone and for a single Poster, are now functional, although you’ll need to scroll down to the bottom of the Rewards until they get them arranged in order later today.

In other news, we have decided to remove the 150k Stretch Goal of the 15-minute video and replace it with the creation of an Alt★Hero web site, complete with forums. I spoke with the producer, and we decided that rather than do a small video now, we’d prefer to concentrate on building a strong foundation for the series, then crowdfund a more ambitious video project next year that will be written by Chuck Dixon and me. This means that we can spend more of the resources that the backers are providing us on actual comic art and books rather than on a single video that is too short to serve as much more than an expensive marketing tool.

In the meantime, by popular demand, here is another image of Rebel. She does not cuck or cower.

Cucktriotika

I suspect that more than a few of those who backed the Patriotika kickstarter are going to regret having done so. Apparently the gentleman responsible for it is considerably more of a cuck than he is a patriot.

However, it is very illuminating to observe that the comics industry is so converged that not only are the SJWs at Marvel and DC intent on banishing all badthink from the industry, but so are those professing to offer an alternative to them. A false alternative, as it turns out.

It should be readily apparent that Patriotika is not “A SJW’s Worst Nightmare” or “what SJW Marvel loathes”, as had been previously claimed. Is there any doubt that the part-time goddess, part-time college student would be majoring in Women’s Studies and dating a black football player by issue #3?

I wonder how these delicate cucks would have reacted to The Dukes of Hazzard? In any event, we will be more than happy to utilize more of Tim’s work, and were in fact discussing that with him even before he was informed that his work on the Alt★Hero project rendered his previous work for Mount Olympus Comics unusable.

UPDATE: It would appear that I was correct. Patriotika backers are, to put it mildly, displeased by Ron Z’s decision to sit in for Marvel in playing thought police for the comics industry. The caption accompanying the picture below: “Blacklisting is not cool. Never another dime.”

PJ Media on Alt★Hero

PJ Media’s Megan Fox interviewed me and several others about the unexpected appeal of Alt★Hero:

PJ Media reached out to Vox Day to find out more about his overnight hit.

“I was astonished, actually. I knew that people were angry about the way social justice warriors have destroyed traditional superheroes, but I didn’t realize just how eager they were for an alternative,” he said. “Of course, the way the SJWs on Twitter completely freaked out over Rebel and the existence of the project didn’t exactly hurt.”

Rebel has become the stand out hero of the upcoming series who seems to resonate the most with fans. She is beautifully drawn in the classic superhero style but seems to always be losing part of her costume.

“Being a good Southern girl, Rebel made her own costume, and the straps are supposed to be tied. However, considering how often they seem to come undone, she is giving some serious thought to having someone design her a more practical outfit,” Day explained. The stars and bars are an unmistakable tweak to the SJW’s who get triggered at the very thought of a confederate flag. (Remember this lunatic?) Obviously, Day isn’t shrinking away from politics in these stories.

“The idea that there can be politics-free comics when everything from going to the ladies room to playing video games has been politicized is utterly absurd,” he quipped. “It would be like ignoring the existence of Nazis during World War II or of Soviets during the Cold War,” he argued. “The problem with Marvel and DC is not so much that they have injected politics into comics, but that they ruthlessly sacrifice the stories and even the traditional superheroes on the altar of their social justice agenda.”

We also debuted a new image of Rebel, exclusive to the article.

UPDATE: They changed the link because the star in the title was causing problems for some browsers. The link above is updated, complete with new art featuring Ghostdancer and Captain Europa.

She is unimpressed

Ryu no Seishin is observably unimpressed by the shamefully unsuper SJW-heroes of Marvel and DC. She would eviscerate the “unbeatable” Squirrel Girl with a flick of the wrist and have her skin turned into gloves without so much as blinking an eye.

A well-known conservative site has confirmed that they will be running an article about Alt★Hero later today, complete with an interview with me and exclusive new Rebel artwork. I also really like where Chuck Dixon is going with the city of Avalon, which is beginning to come to life.

To help make this happen, join the campaign. I think you’ll be glad you did.

Deck the walls

$45.00
Add-On: Three-Poster Set

This is to receive a three-poster set that will consist of the backer’s choices of a) the map of the city of Avalon, b) the logo poster, c) the logo poster featuring various characters, d) Rebel Poster #1, e) Dynamique Poster #1, or d) Posters to be named later, but which likely include alternate Rebel and Dynamique posters at a bare minimum. All posters are 17″ x 21″. Most posters will be vertically oriented; the map poster will most likely be horizontal. Shipping is included.

The Alt★Hero campaign continues to advance. I just answered some questions for a large conservative site, so awareness of the series is beginning to percolate into the conservative media.

If you want to revise your backing, just email Freestartr support and tell them exactly what you want to do. This all gets sorted out when the campaign ends, so don’t worry if your precise combination of things you want are not available on a single Reward or Add-on. This is just part of life on the leading edge.

Dreams of Avalon

This is genuinely exciting. It means that the author of the Alt★Hero series Avalon will be constructing a detailed city map of Avalon in cooperation with a highly skilled cartographer, bringing the fictional city to life in more ways than one. Later today, we will add a reward with various poster options, one of which is a full-color city map of Avalon. If you haven’t done so yet, you can join the campaign here.

Speaking of Mr. Dixon, The Injustice Gamer is enthusiastic, not only about Mr. Dixon’s involvement, but the specific way in which he is involved.

Chuck Dixon knows how to work in parallel with another writer. He also has been burned enough in the industry that if he trusts someone to put his name with a project, the deal is solid. What does his involvement with Alt*Hero mean? From what I’ve gathered from Vox’s postings, Dixon’s stories will be written in parallel, but entirely in a city called Avalon. In fact, that’s the name of the book.

There’s another well reputed book that features a city and its heroes. That’s Astro City, written by very liberal Kurt Busiek. Now, Mr. Busiek hasn’t sacrificed all his talent to preach SJW thought, but there’s been more instances in recent volumes. So, I’m going to hope that in many ways, Avalon will end up being a response to Astro City.

My experience with city-focused fiction has been more literary than comics, but I’m familiar enough with the genre to be stoked about the possibilities this creates. And, by the way, in the event you are a very good illustrator, we’ve decided it would be a good idea to add one more to the Alt★Hero team. If you think you’ve got the necessary skills, please send me a link to your portfolio.

And in case you’re interested, this is a concept illustration of one of our new heroes, Ryu no Seishin, also known as Spirit of the Dragon. She is another of our backer-designed heroes, and was designed by the very woman who will be cosplaying her.

Mailvox: the furrowed brow

As I pointed out in Cuckservative, it doesn’t matter which side the moderates say they are on. They will always, always, always prefer to virtue-signal by shooting at “their” side. Either you’re too impolite or you’re insufficiently inclusive or you’re too extreme or your bow tie is tied improperly. Regardless, they are always irrelevant and serve no purpose except as speedbumps for the side they nominally support.

A Castalia House blogger notes that the moderates have discovered Alt★Hero.

There’s another outraged blog post about Alt★Hero, this time from Kasimir Urbanski. He claims that what you’re doing is just like SJW Marvel. I read the post, and he behaves exactly as you said moderates do — they shoot at their own side, saying that we have to behave more civilized than the opposition, all in some attempt to avoid charges of being too mean instead of backing up people who actually take action. They expect to both fight the SJWs and follow the (im)moral standards SJWs set, standards the SJWs happily ignore.

Let’s see what this gentleman has to say:

And that’s what bothers me about Alt-Hero. We certainly could use someone coming along and making a new comics universe that was ABOUT THE COMICS in the same way the OSR is about the games. One that didn’t ignore politics completely, or shy from moral lessons, or push a leftist agenda, but that wasn’t just a facade for right-wing propagandism either.

I would love to see a universe that had heroes that actually embodied heroism, that had moral values, that were patriotic, that believed in family, that stood up for classical Enlightenment values, who saluted the flag. And this would have the “Aleena Effect” of SJWs protesting against a hero in a US flag, and everyone who likes US flags abandoning the SJWs.

But above all, that it would focus on the comics. Instead, Alt-hero has every appearance of being something that will involve someone who is fundamentally not really all that into comics (at least, not enough to value the subculture) injecting ideological propaganda into the medium of the comic, with the comics’ conventions being largely an afterthought to sledgehammering their political agenda.

That means Alt-Hero looks like it’s going to be pretty much just like SJW Marvel.

That is pure textbook. One of the reliable marks of the moderate is his total inability to distinguish tactics from objectives. The ironic thing is that to ignore something like the SJW invasion of literally every aspect of society would be to inject ideological propaganda into the comics, as it is one of the most significant aspects of our society today. Omitting that, or immigration, would be like pretending the Cold War wasn’t happening during the 70s and 80s.

But this is good news, in my opinion. The more the moderates are concerned and even upset, the more likely it is that Alt★Hero is going to be effective.

Not one, but two

A number of people have asked for a way to buy Alt★Hero Novel #2, so we have created two new ways to do so as part of the Alt★Hero campaign. We have also found two of the three cosplay models for the promised photo shoot.

$5.00
Novel Ebook #2
This is to receive a copy of Alt★Hero novel #2, by Vox Day and Jon Del Arroz, in DRM-free EPUB and MOBI formats.

$35.00
Add-On: Digital Starter Kit
This is to receive the nine volumes of comics, the two ebooks, the cosplay photos, and, if the Stretch Goal is achieved, the city map of Avalon, all in digital format.

We have also added a new stretch goal which promises to be very cool. I have already selected the cartographer and he is excellent. My objective is to provide a beautiful map that will be more detailed than any of the maps of Gotham that are out there, in order to create a world that feels more real than anything in the DC or Marvel universes.

$120000.00
Map of Avalon
Castalia House will produce a detailed map of Avalon, the fictional city central to the Alt★Hero universe. The map will be created by Chuck Dixon in cooperation with an accomplished cartographer.
